Jason/Piper POV
(Author note: yes I got lazy and did two at once)
Jason watched as Thalia left to board a different train along with Luke Castellan.
They accidentally got different tickets, but their destinations were the exact same place.
Thalia forced her brother to take the shorter one, while she took the longer one. He lugged his suitcase and entered a train.
He sighed as he sat down in an empty seat.
As the doors were closing a girl outside yelled, "Hey, Wait!"
He immediately dropped his suitcase and ran to hold the door open, as the girl jumped through in the nick of time.
They panted, "Thanks," the girl muttered, "I'm Piper way the way."
"Jason." To which he added, "Grace. Jason Grace."
He offered her the seat which she gratefully sat down in.
"Where are you headed?" He asked, trying to sound smooth. Piper, to him, was absolutely stunning. She was American-Indian and had lovable, kaleidoscopic eyes. Her hair was cut sloppily, but he could tell she was rich. Her phone, for one thing, was the newest model that came out yesterday.
"New York. You?" She responded.
"You seem a little too young to be going to a place that's all the way across the US." He noted.
She smirked, "We're about the same age, I could say the same about you."
"Touché. New York as well."
POV switch - Piper
Jason was a little cute. Scratch that he was definitely cute. Nope he was actually hot.
Piper was conflicted into what words described the perfect blonde boy in front of her.
He was very leader-like and had electric blue eyes that sent icy chills up and down her spine. She could feel herself blush as she took out her phone to check the time. They chatted for a bit but when Piper heard "New York" out of his mouth, she inwardly squealed.
"Let me guess," she asked, "A boarding school called, Hero's Training for Troublemakers?"
He ears turned beet red, "When you say it that way, it sounds like it's for kids who are in juvie." He laughed awkwardly.
They were talking for hours, until they both had to move trains. Luckily they were boarding the same train together.
POV switch -Jason
They walked in and Jason saw a seat and immediately let Piper have it. A burly Asian kid on her right was staring at him.
"Hey."
"Hello." The kid replied, he paused before continuing to introduce himself as Frank.
Jason watched as Piper checked the time out of the corner of his eye.
"12:40," she said, "We're in Iowa."
(Author note: okay to make up for double POV thing, enjoy three POVs from Percy, Annabeth, and Leo. Next will be entirely focused on Reyna, Calypso and the school arrival)
Percy POV
Percy was a little upset that he had to move to a new boarding school. He had friends in his old one, which surprised even him.
The worst part about it, was that the school he was moving to, Hero's Trash-yard or something, had dorms. Which meant he would be staying there for an entire year, probably not able to leave to see his best friend Tyson. Grover was moving with him fortunately. [no Grover POV in this fanfic]
He left his house promising to be back soon.
He went to a skate park nearby and pulled some stunts for a while. On the last two stunts he was gonna do he misplaced footing and slipped off.
He groaned and pulled himself together and crashed on a bench.
A girl who watched him fall walked over, "Are you ok?" She asked.
Percy looked up, "Yeah fine, thanks for asking." The girl had beautiful blonde curls and startling grey, stormy eyes.
"My name's Annabeth Chase by the way." She said sweetly.
"Percy Jackson." He replied, "That name sounds familiar somewhere..." his thought wondered off trying to remember where he had heard it from.
Annabeth made a face, "Yours does too.."
They seemed about the same age, Annabeth was slightly taller by like half an inch, though they seemed about level. She had beautiful golden-blonde locks, the way Disney Princess' had. She was also lugging around a suitcase
"Well I'll be getting home, then." He murmured still wondering where he heard her name from.
"Alright see you."
They both turned and walked their separate ways.
At home he packed (stuffed) up all he needed in a blue suitcase with six wheels (four on the bottom two on the side you pull) and proceeded downstairs.
His mother, Sally Jackson, has made a fresh batch of blue cookies for his going away gift. She put them in a ziplock bag, and then put the ziplock in a plastic glove container.
Percy didn't know why she did this but shrugged it off.
She smiled at him and put the container in his backpack pocket.
"See you next year, sweetie."
"Next year mom!" He replied back with a wave.
He quickly exited the house careful not to wake up Gabe.
He lugged his heavy bags down the street, only to watch a street gang corner a girl.
He watched silently from the shadows, hoping they wouldn't see him.
"Giv' us yer money girl!" The gang leader yelled.
The girl looked horribly frightened.
They immediately hit her when she didn't respond, "Talk to Cap' when spoke to!" The second in command yelled in her ear.
Percy realized with a start the girl was Annabeth, and his body moved without thinking.
"Hey IDIOTS!" He yelled. They turned to him, "What did you just call us?" Their captain screeched.
"That's right, I called you doofuses IDIOTS."
One of them immediately ran at him, and without knowing or thinking, Percy pulled out an umbrella and hit the goon in the side of the head.
"BOBBY!" Their leader yelled.
"Sir, that's Jeffrey."
"Which one?"
"Willow."
"Eh, no big loss." The captain said and immediately turned to face him.
"Ur messing with the big boys kid."
"You're right, the big, fat, ugly kids." Percy shot back.
"Get 'im gang!" The leader roared.
Gripping his backpack in one hand, his umbrella in the other, he slashed and bashed his way through until the only ones who remained standing, were him and the goons' leader.
Percy put his backpack back on and gripped his six wheeled suitcase.
"Didn't think you'd make it this far." The ugly leader flashed a yellow smile at him.
Percy immediately ran at him, but instead of swinging his umbrella, be swung his suitcase directly at the dude's face. Every single wheel hit him and he got knocked out.
He turned to Annabeth, "Come on, let's get out of here. That's not going to hold them for long." And proceeded to grab her arm, while she grabbed her suitcase, which he just realized she still had.
They ran up a set of stairs before the gang jumped out of their confusion. The gang angrily and groggily ran after them. Percy knew the street they were running on well and pushed their cases into a small crack after turning a corner. He immediately grabbed Annabeth and pushed her inside. He, unfortunately tripped on a pipe and fell.
They stayed quiet until the gang was gone.
Annabeth POV
They panted for a while until they realized what position they were in. Annabeth was pinned down by Percy's hands on her arms. They were almost nose to nose.
He immediately shifted and muttered, "Sorry."
"It's all right, and thanks. I had no money and I don't what they would do if I told them that and-"
"Hey, it's alright, you don't have to thank me." He smiled, his sea-green eyes, raven black hair, blue hoodie- she immediately wondered why she was sizing him down.
"Where are you headed?" He asked after pulling her and the suitcases out.
"Hero's Training for Troublemakers." She blushed. She sounded like she was a bad kid, even though she could barely stand up to a street thug.
"Hey, same!" His sea green eyes lit up. "We can walk together!"
Annabeth's bruise immediately started to hurt.
He noticed this, and opened up his backpack.
"Here, eat one of these." He handed her a blue cookie.
"Thanks." She whispered after taking a bite.
"It's really good!" She exclaimed.
He smiled and took one too.
"Thanks, my mom made them."
"Tell her I said that!" She said happily.
"Sure, once school is over and I get back to Manhattan."
They talked and walked until they reached Hero's Training.
Leo POV
(Author note: like I said nothing about Hero's High, yes I'm calling it that, until next chapter)
Leo's Foster parent yelled at him.
"What were you thinking! You almost set fire to this house!" They yelled.
Leo sighed, "I guess you're bringing me back to the foster home."
"We tried Leo, we really did."
"But in the end, it failed. Like 50% of my inventions." He snickered at his own joke.
"Leo, you're not going to a foster home, you're being sent to Child Care."
All the color immediately drained out of his face, "C-Child Care?" He asked wondering if he heard that wrong.
"Yes Leo, you've been kicked out of too many homes, this was your last chance they're sending you to Hero's Training in New York.
"When am I leaving?"
"Today."
"Oh". Leo bit back a cry.
"Go pack your things Child Care is picking you up in an hour."
Leo trudged off and packed everything he owned into a worn down metal and (half) leather suitcase with marker all over it.

He finished packing and ate his last meal at his final foster home.
He heard a beep outside, a car parked.
A man stepped in the house and started talking to Leo's foster parents.
Leo didn't pick up on their conversation because he was too afraid too. He was only focusing on his food, and was a bit sad when he finished it.
"Goodbye Leo." Were the only things he heard for a very long time.
