Reyna's POV
Reyna strolled through her favorite place in the world, Hero's Training. She would never forget the kindness of the people that took her in here. She was one of the all-rounders, the people who had to stay all year round. Over the past few years here, she envied the people who had a family to return to, but always stood proud saying her family was here. After Hylla left for college to support them, she felt alone.
She walked out the large wooden doors to watch the line of kids ages 10 - 18 walk through.
Earlier that year, she was sad that Annabeth, another all-rounder, had to leave to give her family a 'second chance'. They used to hang out all summer together, arguing about the little things and challenging each other to trivial, athletic things.
They had an ongoing rivalry in volleyball, something she couldn't wait to beat Annabeth at.
Reyna was a bit surprised when she saw her walking through with a dark haired boy with sea green eyes. They seemed very tired but Reyna immediately got up to greet them.
"Hello Reyna!" Annabeth chimed.
"Greeting, who's you're companion?" Reyna asked.
"Oh, Reyna meet Percy, Percy meet Reyna."
"Hey Reyna." The boy smiled.
Her first thought about him, was that he looked very, very athletic.
She smiled to herself, she had to challenge him to a game of ping pong.
"Hello Percy." She replied.
Reyna looked to her side and saw another, familiar person.
Calypso POV
Calypso was tired, her little errand her the headmaster, Chiron Brunner, wore her out.
She was greeted by Reyna who asked, "How was your errand? You look tired."
"It was very." She agreed. Calypso looked through the sea of kids and spotted a waving Annabeth. There was a raven haired boy next to her that waved as well. Her first thought about him was, 'Wow he's hot.' She could feel her face blushing. And walked forward to the school to escape that embarrassing situation, only to find herself in another.
She wasn't looking where she was going and ran into a boy who tripped, causing her to get knocked down as well.
She sat up rubbing the back of her head, "Hey! Watch where you're going!" A curly haired boy sat in front of her, not looking much better then she did.
"Well aren't you a little ray of Sunshine" He muttered.
"Don't address me that!"
"Too late." The boy grinned, he stood up. "The name's Valdez, Leo Valdez of course." He reached out a hand to help her up.
"Calypso." She responded while taking his hand.
"No last name?" Leo asked while pulling her up.
It was true, she had no last name. But immediately spoke up and said, "Nightshade, Calypso Nightshade."
(Author note: if you read the first series, PJO, this would make sense. -looks up in the night sky and sees a constellation- respect the peace)
"Despite your last name," Leo said, "I'm calling you Sunshine."
Calypso blushed a deep crimson color, "D-Don't you dare!" She said firmly.
"Again, too late." Leo snickered and pulled out some pipe cleaners out of his tool belt. His hands violently moved around until he finished what he was doing. It was a helicopter that looked surprisingly firm. He threw it into the air and the blades started spinning.
"Woah.." Came out of Calypso's mouth.
He smiled, "That's not the only thing I can do, milady."
"Don't call me that either!"
They quarreled like this for a few minutes before they decided enough was enough.
(Alright here are some mini POVs to show what the dorms look like.
Frank/Piper POV
As they walked through the building, they looked around. It was surprisingly homey.
Frank could tell many people walked these stairs before he did.
"Hey, I'm going to go look for Thalia, alright?" Jason said.
Frank and Piper nodded.
Piper was instantly reminded of her large house in California. Hero's High was triple the size, and twice the luxury.
They asked for their dorm directions, girls were upstairs on the right, boys were upstairs on the left. Each led to a common room that led to the dorm rooms. In the middle between both hallways, stood several ping pong tables and arcade machines. Chairs were put underneath tables and next to the wall.
They split to their separate dorms.
Frank found most of the dorms were labeled, until he realized they weren't dorms at all since each 'dorm' was the size of a small ball room, upon closer inspection they were actually called cabins. Each had a large, ornate door with a small lock. He chose a room that only had two of the five beds. A large table stood in the middle. Desks were placed next to each bed. A door to the side lead to, what Frank guessed was, the shower and bathroom. One of the beds had a backpack sitting on on the desk, and a blue suitcase next to the bed. The other claimed bed had a very large metal and leather suitcase with tons of marks shoved under it.
He picked a bed next to the blue suitcase person, thinking he was more sane than the guy with a metal suitcase.
He put his stuff up as a dark haired boy holding cards entered.
POV switch - Piper
Piper picked a room that only had two beds claimed.
(Author note: it's the exact same description as the boys room bc I'm too lazy to re-describe it)
She put her neat suitcase under the bed in the corner. Three beds remained unclaimed. Then a blonde walked in and stopped as she saw her.
"Oh hello! I didn't expect to see someone in here. My name's Annabeth Chase."
"Heyo, I'm Piper." She responded.
"No last name?" Annabeth asked.
At this Piper blushed a deep scarlet, " I'd rather not say."
Annabeth shrugged, "Whatever rows your boat!" She exclaimed happily.
Another girl walked in muttering, "I swear if he does that ever again..."
She walked to one of the claimed beds, the one in the corner closest to Piper's.
"Hi Calypso! Did someone cause you trouble?" Annabeth wondered aloud.
"A boy named Leo Valdez." The girl sighed, "I have no doubt I'll be seeing him often."
"Hi I'm Piper." Piper said.
"Hello Piper," the girl responded sighing, "If you didn't hear, I'm Calypso. A pleasure to meet you."
"You as well!" Piper replied. So far everyone was nice to her. Piper had thoughts of herself surviving here.
Then another girl rushed in and claimed the last bed.
She turned and waved, "Hazel Levesque." She introduced herself quickly. She panted, "Sorry, I was running around trying to find an empty bed."
They all introduced themselves and hoped they were all going to be good friends.
(Sorry I was a little late)
