Chapter 23: Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Storrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy

The Siege Of Mandalore was awful.

All her friends were gone. They had all died. Some because they were bent on killing her and Ahsoka could only save Rex, and others because Ahsoka had the brilliant idea of letting Maul loose as a distraction.

Ahsoka shivered in the cold night air. Rex and her were sitting by a fire they had started, using whatever poor supplies they had scavenged from the Resolute.

It made it worse that the clones were all Rex's brothers, and it was Ahsoka's fault that they crashed on this force forsaken ice moon. They were Ahsoka's family, too….

The war was always unbearable. If only they had more time, Ahsoka could have saved more of them. If she had more time.

It was all too much. She couldn't hold it in. Tears streamed down her cheeks like the waterfall on Illum where she brought the younglings to find their Kyber crystals. They left splotches on her grey cloak. Soon enough, Ahsoka's tears turned into sobs. Loud sobs that testified to her pain.

Rex noticed, and asked, his voice shaky but gentle from his feelings."What's wrong, lil'un."

"It's all my fault!"She moaned "I could've saved all of your brothers, but they're DEAD. Dead, Rex. Just because I wanted to stay alive."

Silent tears started to flow down Rex's face. The dark voice inside his head said that it was Ahsoka's fault, that all the force users that aren't aligned with Darth Sidious were to blame. But he knew it not to be true. It was Darth Sidious's fault, his fault that the galaxy was united under an Empire, his fault that his brothers had turned against everything that they stood for, and that the Jedi were dead and gone. Common folk like the two that were stranded on an ice planet had no control over things like that.

Rex thought, then pulled the Togruta into a comforting hug.

"Oh, Ahsoka, I'm sorry. I don't blame you,"He whispered into her montrals as she quivered, crying."But sadly, we have no control over who lives, who dies, who tells your story
