Series 2, Episode 18 ~ House of Divides

Camilla glanced at her watch once again, she was almost done wearing the stupid cheer uniform, she just had the last bit of the school day to go. She had found Fabian who instantly told her about the cube being missing, which meant Nina wasn't happy, then the run-in with Joy which caused Camilla to groan, until Fabian muttered, "that's not the worst part..."

"there is a worst part?" Camilla asked as she mentally tried to figure out how to clean up Fabian's mess without offending Joy or Nina.

"I found the cube,"

"that's not bad information."

"Uncle Jasper had it."

"No, No.. No...I don't want Jasper to be a bad guy... you don't think he stole the cube thingy do you?" Camilla asked instantly, causing Fabian to sigh before he handed over the cube to Camilla.

"I don't know, I hope not." He murmured as he felt Camilla's head lean onto his shoulder and he wrapped an arm around her reassuringly. There was one thing he could count on no matter what and that was his sister. They where the one constant in each other's lives they knew would never change.

Before either of them could say anything, Camilla heard her name being called down the corridor, causing both Rutter's to look down it to see Eddie beckoning them. "Jerome must be about to start," Camilla smiled, throwing the cube into the air and whispering, "Preitori Speculo" causing the box to go translucent. It wasn't invisible if you knew where to look but to someone looking at a glance you wouldn't see it. Camilla then put it into her bag and handed it to Fabian who smiled at her, before the two went running into the student lounge to see Jerome on the stage with Alfie and three huge buckets of Carrots.

"LADY CAMILLA!" Alfie screamed the moment she and Fabian came skidding into the room, "WE NEED YOU!" Camilla rushed to the stage as Fabian joined the crowd to watch Jerome eat 3 Gallons of mushy carrots.

"I thought you were going to miss it," Jerome said nervously as Camilla crouched by him looking at him with worry.

"like hell," Camilla told him reassuringly, "I'm team Jerome all the way, I even bet on you succeeding,"

Jerome smiled at her clearly needing to hear words of encouragement before he glanced up at Alfie who was massaging his shoulders, "You did check that eating all this cream carrot won't kill me right?" he asked nervously.

"Yeah," Alfie nodded, "it can't kill you. It could poison you though..." he added as if it was an afterthought causing Camilla and Jerome to look at him sharply with worry.

"I'm sorry, what?" they said in unison causing Alfie to give them a look. When did they become that in sync they spoke as one?

"it's called carotenosis, you don't die you just turn orange." Alfie said simply, "it's good right?"

"How is that in any way good?" Jerome demanded.

"well if scientists have bothered to give it a proper medical name, then they probably developed a cure for it." Alfie explained slowly as if talking to a child, before adding, "but don't worry if anything bad happens we always have Camilla on hand... she can do magic I'm sure she knows healing spells."

Jerome looked to Camilla who sent him a reassuring smile causing him to smile back and look at the audience, missing the look Camilla gave Alfie. He was really thinking way too highly of her magical abilities. She could lock doors and make things float... she didn't think she was at the level of healing people yet!

Jerome groaned as the first bucket was put in front of him, Camilla looking away as the texture of it looked gross.

"Just pretend its milkshake..." Alfie told the boy as he lifted his spoon, "Carrot flavoured milkshake."

"That's not helping Alfie..." Jerome told the boy, "hit the bell." He told Camilla who rung the bell on the table and Amber pranced along the stage with a carrot cut out saying 'Round One' on it. Cheers erupted from the crowd and Jerome dug in, making sure to send Eddie a dirty look the whole time.

Rounds one and two went smoothly but as Jerome hit halfway of his third and last bucket they all were looking rather worried for him. His face had gone orange and he looked a little like he was going to be sick at any moment.

"Jerome..." Mara spoke up softly from behind Camilla who was crouched next to Jerome looking at him with worry, "you have my permission to give up." This caused Camilla to scoff because Jerome didn't need her permission to do anything, this caused the girl glared at the female twin.

"LET ME THROW IN THE TOWEL AND END THIS NOW!" Alfie dramatically screamed at the boy.

"I know this is now a pride thing," Camilla whispered to Jerome as everyone laughed at Alfie, "so do this, and prove Eddie wrong. You are Jerome Clarke, I can believe you can do anything you put your mind too, no matter how epic or gross," Jerome looked at Camilla and saw the sincerity in her eyes and tone. She genuinely believed he could do anything, "you can do this, I believe in you." She whispered causing him to nod his head and look back at the bucket. Lifting his spoon and with a lot of effort finished the bucket. Pushing it down empty towards Eddie and letting out a triumphant laugh. This caused everyone who was watching to instantly start cheering for him, Camilla getting to her feet and giving Amber a hug as they joined in the celebrations.

Eddie being the good sport that he was jumped onto the stage pulling out his wallet, pulling out three crisp $50 notes, "well that was..."

"Gross?" Camilla offered for him, causing a laugh from Eddie.

"Yeah gross. But you did it, good job." With that Eddie held the money out to him, "double or nothing?" he offered but Jerome leaned forward and grabbed the money instantly.

Camilla was patting herself on the back as she wandered through the house with a large jar of Nutella and a bowl of dry coco-pops. You best believe she was in the most comfortable joggers she owned and Fabian's jumper, having changed the moment she got back into the house – a little after the rest of her housemates (bar those put on clean up duty). As she crossed the hallway to the stairs Eddie and Patricia came in, covered from head to toe in mushy carrots.

"Awww no? got changed already, Cam?" Eddie laughed as he took in her hobo look.

"Do I want to know why the two of you are covered in mushy Carrots?" She asked the pair ignoring the comment from Eddie.

"Do we want to ask why you're eating Nutella from the jar?" Patricia retorted, knowing Camilla only did that when she was celebrating something.

"Because sometimes you just need a giant spoon of Nutella," was Camilla's smart response as she turned to walk up the stairs. The best thing about Anubis house was that everyone was always up to something so there was an unsaid rule about not asking too many questions.

Camilla was unsurprised to see Fabian in their room when she walked back in, he had forced her to make the cube visible again before he rushed off to Nina.

"It just cracked for no reason?" Amber asked her and Nina's backs were to the door as the girl walked in. "that's off the chart crazy."

"I've had an idea about the cube!" She announced walking into the room as she rolled the Nutella in the coco-pop's and then ate the mix from the spoon causing Amber and Nina to look disgusted, Fabian, however, looked up from Camilla's bed where he was sat not bothered by the sight. "remember how I used to 'solve' Rubix cubes before I realised, they had stickers?" Camilla pointed to Fabian who looked panicked as Camilla grabbed the cube of Amber and threw it to the ground causing all the bits to smash everywhere.

"CAMILLA!" Nina screamed angrily causing the girl to simply look up and 'shhs' her as she knelt down next to the pieces.

Of course, due to the angry shout of Nina Victor came barging into the room, Amber, Nina getting to their feet as Camilla sat on the pieces (very uncomfortably) eating her coco-pops and Nutella mix. "what is going on in here?" Victor demanded.

"A lover's tiff, Victor," Amber told the man instantly, "Nina and Fabian are going out, sorry, where..." she dramatically told the pair at opposite sides of the room.

"Well if you must tiff, kindly do it quietly," the man said getting uncomfortable at the whole notion of romance and backing out the room shutting the door.

"Camilla what the hell have you done?!" Nina hissed the moment the door whats shut.

"Calm the hell down Nim," Camilla sassed as she moved off the pieces and started to assemble them, "Then you put the pieces back together to form..." Camilla mumbled, Fabian racing over as he realised Camilla's plan. Between them, they assembled the cube into a triangle shape and Camilla lifted it to Nina. "Ta-da... I'll take my thank you now."

"don't bother, she isn't up for giving them to people today," Fabian muttered, causing Camilla to look his way, catching his eye and seeing his sad expression. Something had happened. Unsure of how to comfort her brother with Nina and Amber present, she offered him the bowl of coco-pops causing a smile to creep onto his face and him to pull her into a side hug.

Nina was looking in awe at the pyramid shape the twins had made, "we should go check out the tunnels, tonight" she told them all.

"Yay..." Amber sarcastically spoke up, before glancing at her wardrobe, "do I have time to change?" this caused Camilla and Fabian to laugh.

Night had fallen and four little Sibuna's found themselves in a creepy underground tunnel. Nina holding the pyramid shape, walked towards the wall blocking their way to the next set of tunnels. Carefully she walked towards it, causing the top of the pyramid shape to start glowing. With ease Nina placed the pyramid shape into the wall, causing the whole hexagon pattern to glow before the wall slid to one side revealing the next path.

"shall we see what's inside tunnel number 2?" Nina asked them all.

As they all walked along another long stretch of tunnels, Camilla noting the animal symbols on the floor as they walked along, "Bastet, Hathor, Seth, Anubis..." she mumbled causing Fabian to chuckle. His sister hated to admit she liked Egyptian stuff but her brain was crammed full of knowledge on it.

"Sarah's dad sure had a thing for catacombs," Fabian muttered as he looked around the tunnel.

"Yeah... but no eye for decor!" Amber added sassily.

Camilla looking up as she heard the same mechanical sound as before but unsure what they had just triggered. "What's that sound?" she asked.

"Which one? Creaky beams, windy tunnel or my heart beating out of my chest!" Amber instantly replied.

The Sibuna's turned a corner to their next 'dead-end'. A large chasm stretching out before them, with no bridge of any kind. How they were going to cross this was going to be hard.

"Oh colour me slightly disappointed!" Amber muttered as she walked towards the chasm without realising, Camilla grabbing her and pulling her back with a scream.

"AMBER!" The moment the girl was pulled back she realised what she had almost done and clutched at Camilla in fear. She had almost died. Fallen to her death.

Fabian pushed a pebble into the chasm and they heard the rock falling for over 2 minutes causing the twins to look at one another, "that's a long way down." He said softly.

"I defiantly hear something back there," Nina said looking to them all.

"Me too..." Fabian said. The two running back the way they came, Amber and Camilla on their heels. Camilla not letting go of Amber's hand as she had almost lost her once and she was going to make sure that didn't happen again. As they turned the corner they all the tunnel Camilla had been pointing out the gods too on the floor... well the roof was coming down and coming down fast.

"We're going to be trapped!" Nina screamed as she watched their exit closing on them.
