Ranma stood, hands raised in front of him in preperation, his father stood opposite and just behind him was another man. Transparent like the signs Genma produced as a panda and just as unassuming, but Ranma knew different. Like Willa, Tanuki had a will of his own and could and often did act independently of Genma and he had every skill his father had.
Tanuki wasn't the name of his quirk but the name the being chose. He, as it did identify as a he, could become any shape or size or at least any size Genma was able to empower him to. Though the larger he got the thinner his skin and when the skin was popped, Tanuki vanished.
Tanuki moved first, rushing through Genma as if he weren't there he leapt into the air twisting about to gain momentum before angling himself to drop his heel on to Ranma's head.
Ranma side stepped, wrapped his hands about the living quirks leg and heaved him toward the dojo's wall. He didn't have a moment to breathe as Genma was on him before he manage to fully let go of Tanuki. He managed to avoid the first blow by bending backwards and moving into a handstand allowed him to avoid the follow up and he launched himself toward the ceiling. Sweeping a hand in front of him two flames the size of a finger formed and streaked off towards his father. Ranma himself ricocheted from the ceiling toward the quirk man.
Rolling mid air he extended a leg catching the transparent man atop his head and sending him into the floor. It was a lot further than he'd go with a normal person; in fact the only one he ever hit so hard, was that kid from junior high, the one who could shrug off just about anything, but he had to make the quirks body breakdown if he wanted to cease worrying about him. It was part of the terms of the match. His father could only make one. Pivoting on his heel he faced his father with a grin as Tanuki faded from existence.
"Just you and me old man."
Of course that wasn't necessarily true, Genma was still weaving away from the small streamers of fire after all and he wasn't the one controlling those. His father's response was simple, a transparent baseball bat filled his hands and he whipped it through the fire rendering nothing but smoke on the breeze. He fell into a stance the bat falling back into nothing.
Genma scowled, "you're to full of yourself boy!"
He rushed forward, even to Ranma's eyes he was a blur. Only instinct saved him, he managed to get his arms between his father's leg and his side just in time to be sent tumbling across the floor. He bounced to his feet and lurched toward his father, four balls of fire leapt from him into the air firing a barrage of smaller fireballs at the older martial artist. Each one was evaded or knocked from the air by a transparent hand. Ranma swung low meaning to sweep his father's feet from under him, a transparent hand like the ones that extinguished his flames emerged from Genma's calf and caught him before dragging him into the air.
"Your a fool boy, your quirk is to weak-" Genma started and leapt away as a wave of fire poured from Ranma, the hand holding him burst under the immense heat and Ranma landed in a crouch.
"Done." Ranma said his eyes alit with fire. One by one the fires began to fill the air and Genma paled. Ranma was done, he'd heard it again and again over the years, his father mocking Willa, destroying her fire. Crushing her under the transparent mitts or boots he wore when Ranma would bring her out in a spar. 'It's time the old man stopped his bull crap' he thought.
Another wave of fire burst from Ranma's skin as Genma rushed him and they filled the air as Genma back pedaled. No longer did his fire rise in ones or even twos, now they filled the air by the dozen until he and his father had a gap a foot wide around them, the rest was dancing blue orbs of fire. He could see his father sweating profusely and was sure if the walls hadn't been treated to be flame resistance the buildings would already be ablaze. "Admit defeat pops." Ranma said.
Willa lowered herself to his shoulder as he spoke and pointed at the small sack attached to his side. Ranma shook his head. "No, the old man wants to act the villain and break his word fine but I won't."
She frowned at him before before hopping off his shoulder to skip through the air her wings fluttering behind her.
Ranma watched as the air about his father's hands began to distort as he knew they would. Soon enough, Genma's hands were surrounded by opaque fists nearly the size of Ranma himself. Ranma shook his head and lowered himself once more into a ready stance, the door slid open and the flames surged ever so slightly as fresh air fed them.
"Ranma-kun," Kasumi said, "you've a letter from Yuuei."
For a moment he didn't think his father was going to stop, he rarely stopped their spars for anything, let alone school. But the fists faded from back into nothing and his father stood straightening his gi. His fires began to shrink until they burned no more and Ranma turned to Kasumi with a small smile.
"Thanks Kasumi." He said and leapt backward to avoid his father's fist which filled the pace his head was just before. Internally. he groaned, he should've known his father wouldn't endanger Kasumi in a battle of quirks, that didn't mean however, he was done.
"Oh my." He heard Kasumi say but he didn't have time to answer. Instead, he took to the air bouncing from the walls to the ceiling before shooting towards his father. His father launched himself into the air to meet him, a determined look in his eye that Ranma knew meant this was the last clash. One way or another the fight was over when they landed.
Their legs crossed and as Ranma knew he would, Genma latched on, trying to turn him and turn his momentum toward the ground. It didn't happen, Ranma refused to lose. Not today, he thought, he would have no regrets today.
As his father tried to angle Ranma so that he would hit the floor with their combined weight, he jammed his fingers into his father's leg, faster than his size suggested the older martial artist released him as if he'd just been burned.
Ranma wasn't about to let that happen however and copying his father's previous attempt he grabbed his father's leg and pulled the man beneath him just as they hit the floor.
"That's my win old man." Ranma grunted and pulled himself to his feet. He knew he was going to pay for the victory later but he didn't care. Accepting the towel and envelope Kasumi offered, he found a hard round object inside the envelope. He tore one end of the envelope apart and slid a disc into his palm, on the side were the letters U.A.
As he started looking for an on switch, the thing shot out a cone of light featuring a small white, animal. He wasn't sure if it was a bear or a mink, it could have been a dog but it was wearing a business suit, stood on its hind legs and had a thick scar through his beady right eye.
"Hello Mr. Saotome, That's right it's me Nezu, the one who could be a mouse, a dog, a bear but that doesn't matter because I'm the principal! Rest assured this is neither a prank nor a joke."
Ranma blinked, than he blinked again. Despite it being a recording there was something about the animal that set Ranma's nerves on edge. As if what he was seeing was some sort of mask.
"Moving on, I must inform you, you have managed to pass the written exam, a rather astounding feat considering your rather patchwork transcript. However, while you passed, the results are not what we were hoping for."
With a wince, Ranma silently cursed himself. He knew his book work could've been better, but it wasn't like he didn't try! Genma wasn't exactly a mental giant and that was when he was sober. When he wasn't, which was pretty often, the man had the intelligence equal to his shoes. The kicker, no matter whether he was sober or stumbling drunk he failed to see why anyone needed books.
"Now in regards to your practical examination. Fifty four points is more than enough points to gain you admission into the Hero course, however it's not all about destruction." The image of the professor faded to be replaced by the ones of Ranma attacking the three robots surrounding the girl and shooting the robot carrying the boy. Lastly it shifted to him barreling into the zero pointer, cocooned in fire.
"A Hero's duty is to protect, even at the cost of their own interests, their own well being and at need even their life. So for each act of heroism a panel of judges determined the score of the less well know, rescue points! You have received forty nine rescue points. Congratulations Mr. Saotome and welcome."
The image shifted to one of the Yuuei logo in front of the school. "Welcome to your hero academia!"
The image blanked out and Ranma threw a fist into the air, "I'm in old man, I made it!"
Genma clucked his tongue, "of course you made it boy! I did train you after all! Now all you have to do is get your license, marry Akane and the two of you will make the perfect hero team!"
"Indeed Saotome! However, I believe I have made it clear, despite your protests he will be marrying Nabiki! She will make his uniform run his numbers and together they will rise to the top of the Hero world!"
"Of course Tendo! Of course!" Genma crowed just as Ranma expected him to.
Ranma shook his head, In all the weeks leading up to the test, Nabiki had left the house early, returned late and hadn't said more than four or five words to him a day. She seemed nice enough- his thoughts on his 'fiancée' were cut short as the hologram kicked on again.
"Mr. Saotome, regarding the affliction you obtained through the pools of sorrow, we wish to assure you only the male uniform will be sufficient. Please be aware you must send a copy of your hero costume design to the support company listed on the form in the envelope. And please remember we will be watching your academics closely." Nezu said and winked out as quickly as he'd come.
He just stared at the desk, wondering if it was going to come to life again. It didn't. Pulling a folded piece of paper from the envelope he scanned it and nodded.
"I made it daddy! I made it into the Hero course!" Akane yelled in glee as she rocketed into the room.
Ranma watched as the patriarch of the Tendo clan began to bawl, smiling all the while. "I knew you would! I'm so proud!" He threw his arms around his daughter, picking her up and twirling her around. For a moment Ranma toyed with the idea of taking a stab at his father with their enthusiasm as the weapon and chucked the idea in the proverbial waste basket just as quickly. All the old man would do was to comment about how girly he was.
"Oh my! We'll have to have a special dinner to celebrate Akane and Ranma getting into Yuuei!" Kasumi exclaimed and hurried off.
Some of Akane's enthusiasm, Ranma noted, died away at Kasumi's words. "You made it in?" She asked while pulling away from Soun.
"Yeah, and conratulations on getting in yourself." As he finished he bit his tongue, literally, it was the only way he'd found so far not to call her a tomboy. If she were even remotely a challenge than he might have been willing to poke at her just for a fight but she wasn't. So he didn't.
She smiled, not the wide, kind, smile she wore when they'd first met but one stiff as an iron rod. "And you as well. What class did you get into?"
"1-A, and you?" He replied hoping beyond anything that she was in a separate class, but Yuuei have seperate classes for hero studies?
Her smile faded slightly, "1-B." Her words were sullen, as if she'd lost a fight she was sure she was going to win. So maybe there was a 1-C?
Ranma nodded, it was the best answer he could think of before glancing at the hologram still in his hand. "I've got to go." He had a costume to design after all.
The guest bedroom at the Tendo compound was minimalistic, a single dresser sat against one wall a small desk beside it and the finally the closet where his and his father's futon's were folded and placed. Taking out an old take out menu from a back woods restaurant in China, he flipped it over and began to draw. Twice, he stopped and started again in a different corner of the of the page. He was no artist sadly and by the time he'd decided to do a rough sketch and list the requirement's he'd need the sun had long since set and he'd gone through enough take out menu's to fill a small book.
Dinner was a boisterous affair with Akane quizzing Nabiki about everything she might expect at Yuuei, from the food to the classes and Ranma managed to learn quite a bit. All the teachers were Pro Hero's, who still worked. The Hero Lunch Rush never left anyone unsatisfied and the meals never got boring. That statement got Genma's attention and Ranma wondered how the old man was going to sneak in and make use of that fact. The faculty had a number of facilities like the workshops, training rooms, and the mock cities all of which were used in hero classes. And she mentioned a secret of some sort that was going to be revealed soon.
Over the next few days Ranma spent all his time sparring with his father, practicing with Willa or kicking himself for not adding one thing or another to his costume, some days he wanted a cape, others not, but a mask might of been nice, or even maybe a small sigil somewhere, though he wasn't sure of what that sigil would be exactly. It continued every day until he was due at Yuuei.
As he walked through the massive gates and through the garden leading up to the main building he glanced down at the directions Nabiki had marked down for him. He walked down the halls barely looking as he moved out of people's way and found himself in front of a door almost as massive as the gates he'd walked through minutes previous. He whistled before he could stop himself.
"Yeah, they're pretty big right?" Looking over his shoulder he found a shorter girl with bluish hair, lazy eyes and fair skin. Hanging from her ears looked to be headphone jacks except they looked like they were attached.
Ranma nodded, "I guess they wanted to make sure they could get the guys with bigger quirks inside. Or girls, not trying to say guys like guys ya know?"
She laughed, "it's cool, I get what you mean. Kyoka Jiro, by the way."
He took her offered hand and gave it a shake. "Saotome Ranma, nice to meet ya."
The two made their way into the room where already several people were waiting. One with a strong chin, blue hair and glasses walked rigidly toward them. "I am Tenya Iida from Someii private academy! It's a pleasure to meet yo-"
He was in the middle of talking and reaching out a hand when he stopped to gaze intently at Ranma. "Dude what's the issue?" Kyoka asked Iida.
"Love at first sight maybe?" A pink girl exclaimed excitedly and Ranma recoiled. He'd no problem with guys who like guys. It just wasn't him.
He shook his head, "look man, I just ain't interested in guys okay? So-"
In front of him Iida turned red and began to shake his head rapidly. Apparently, the idea was just as wrong to him as it was to Ranma himself. "Though I hold nothing against those prefer the company of their own gender, I do not. In addition, I am not here to find a partner of that sort, I am here to become a Hero."
"Than why stare at him like that?" Kyoka asked.
"Oh my god it's you!" A new voice cried as the door opened and he found himself looking at floating uniform with rather impressive assets. "Thanks for the save the other day! You took out three of those three pointers at once!"
The door slid open again, this time admitting a boy with spiky ash-blonde hair whose scowl screamed unstable. He walked over to a desk, sat down and propped his feet on to the desk. Iida immediately stalked over to him and began snapping at him about the institution and pride but Ranma couldn't focus on that as a small group had formed around him.
"Three of those three pointers at once? Man That sounds awesome!" Came from a boy with orange blond hair. "Names Kaminari Denki, nice to meet you."
The invisible girl bounced a bit beside him. "It really was! He just blasted them with fire and boom! They all dropped, I swear some of them were melting when I walked away."
The next response came from a plain faced girl with dark green hair that stood with her forearms held in front of her. "That does sound impressive, kero."
"That wasn't anything special," Ranma said with a cocky grin. "I didn't get to really even open up ya know?"
"Anyway I'm Toru Hagakure," She said and Ranma felt a dainty hand press in to his own. "So you can see my quirk or you can't as it were, what's yours?" The invisible girl asked.
"You're all being irrational, now take your seats." This was a new man, scruffy face, bloodshot eyes, cloaked in a yellow sleeping bag making him resemble a deformed caterpillar. Ranma looked around the room as everyone scrambled to a seat leaving Ranma one open seat in the second row the second seat back. When they'd finished the man was no longer in his sleeping bag instead he dropped it behind his desk.
"Eight seconds to quiet. Thirty five seconds to be where you needed to be." He said glancing at his watch, "That time is irresponsible. In the cases of: robberies, car accidents, natural disasters, and any other situation a Hero is involved in, time counts. Seconds, save lives. I suggest you all be more rational."
Ranma grimaced, he was sure everyone was doing the same. They'd screwed up and it hadn't even been a minute into class. "Oh, stop kicking yourselves. I'm Shoto Aizawa your teacher." He paused as a bunch of the students gasped. "Now, everyone change into these" He held up a track uniform, "and meet me out on the field in five minutes. If your late, go home."
With that said he walked out of the room.
The speed at which they moved was similar to a stampede, suffice it to say, none of them were late. "Good. Today we are going to be getting a baseline for your abilities so we can find out where you need to grow and so we can actively measure that growth."
He produced a black ball with a screen on the side and held it toward them. "Saotome Ranma, you were first in the practical exam, and we don't have a base line without your quirk. So you will show us both your quirkless throw and a throw with the aid of your quirk."
Making his way into the circle Ranma took the ball and reared back, breathing out he threw the ball as hard as he could. Maybe it was just him but the ball seemed to be going in slow motion until it landed and Aizawa's phone went off. He turned the phone to the class and announced Ranma's score. "Ninety eight point one five meters."
He threw another ball to Ranma who looked at it oddly, for the life of him he couldn't figure out the best way to launch the ball. If he coated it in fire he could probably get at least a few hundred more meters but that would probably destroy the ball.
"Any day Saotome." Aizawa said and Ranma sighed.
Leaning down he scrawled a design into the ground, "Willa," he said. He could feel his chest warm as she emerged. She looked at the design and began to burn a brighter orange before diving into the mound of dirt that lay just outside the design. The ground began to smolder and smoke, Ranma held out a hand, a blue ball of fire forming in his palm that he pressed into the ground until it turned cherry and flowed back into the hole it'd come from. Just as it finished Willa leapt from the liquid, quite a bit darker than when she'd gone in and leapt into the crook of Ranma's neck.
There were murmurs behind him but Ranma didn't pay them any attention. Instead, he pressed a finger into the molten liquid and balls of blue flame began to dance around his arms. The entire process took about a minute and a half. When Ranma stood he held a slightly flexible piece of cooling stone in the rough outline of a pair of a bats wings.
The balls of fire collected in front of him and Willa skipped into the flame absorbing them and growing brighter than she had before. Rearing back he threw the ball and whipped around flinging the bat wings into the air like a disc after it. Willa flew off like a bullet quickly catching up to the disc and enshrouding it in the blue fire. The flaming bat took off even faster the wings bending at it caught up to the ball and propelling it even further.
Unlike the first throw it seem to Ranma the second throw went by in the blink of an eye and Aizawa stared at him as the score came in. "Nine hundred and two point seven meters." He announced.
"That was awesome!" "Totally manly!" "Oh, I can't wait to try!" "Now this is what I'm talking about! Getting to use our quirks as much as we want!"
They spoke as one and Ranma struggled to keep up with them all as he made his was back into the line, getting a glare from the spiky haired angry boy as he passed.
"This is not meant to be fun. Hero's fight against the unfairness of the world and you have a mere three years to shape yourselves into hero's! I have no patience for those who want to have fun and games! So the person who comes in last place in today's placements will be deemed to have no potential and will be sent home!" Aizawa snapped his bloodshot eyes glaring, daring any to talk back.
A round faced girl did just that, "you can't expel us! We just got here!"
Aizawa shrugged, "Here at Yuuei the teachers have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to our rules and lessons. I think you'll find I can."
From all of his years dealing with Genma, Ranma had a pretty decent grasp on liars and he knew Aizawa wasn't lying. At all. He really would expel one of them. Ranma was okay with that, he knew it wouldn't be him.
From there he turned their attention to the fifty meter dash. Ranma stood beside a tall girl with her long black hair tied back into a spiky tail, she had a body a model would kill for. "Yaoyorozu Momo, it's a pleasure." She said as they watched Iida bolt down the line and past the finish line in about three seconds.
"Nice to meet ya. I'm Saotome Ranma."
She nodded. "I know, what you did back there, you superheated the ground to create a platform your quirk could affect so it could go further without damaging the ball. That was rather impressive."
At least that's what Ranma got out of it, most of what she said sounded like she said in a different language, he nodded. "It wasn't my best but it was the best I could think up at the time."
Yaoyorozu smiled, "it really was amazing. Can I ask about your quirk? Is she sentient?"
Slower than before Ranma nodded, "If your asking if she's got a mind of her own, yeah she does." As if to prove his point Willa came flying back carrying a couple of birds eggs and giggling wildly.
He swung his arm at her as if to say, 'see what I mean?'
It was their turn and they moved into position, a few balls of fire filling Ranma's hands. The buzzer went off and Ranma ran as fast as he could the fire in his hands firing behind him like a rockets thrusters. He finished at three point two seconds. Yaoyorozu finished at four point nine seconds atop an electric scooter of all things.
"You say my quirks impressive, but yours either let you pull that from some warp gate or build it." Ranma stretched a bit as the group made their way to the standing long jump next.
She beamed at him, "It's called creation, it lets me create anything as long as I know the chemical make up, the size and shape, and have enough adipose tissue."
Her words went right over Ranma's head but since she didn't tell him he was wrong he figure at least one of his guesses was right and he was willing to bet on the second one. If she could create a warp gate she would've used it to reach the end.
After that they moved on to repeated side steps, it wasn't Ranma's best event and in the end he did it without the use of his quirk at all while Hagakure really stood out as all you could see moving were her shoes and they didn't move right. Yaoyorozu did well as well, she created blocks to stop her feet in the proper place like the bumpers at a bowling ally. It was the same trick the ice guy with the burn scar over one eye used.
Next was the ball throw and Ranma just stood back and watched. "So what are you going to make here? A miniature tank or something? Or a rocket?"
As he asked he didn't take his eyes of the ball the round faced girl threw, the ball that never came down and her score reflected that. It irked him a bit but with her ability to lighten things to the point they had no gravity it wasn't to much of a surprise.
Izuku Midoriya came next, he threw the ball a total of forty seven meters and Ranma rolled his eyes. The kid hadn't done a single impressive thing yet and Ranma was certain that unless he did something sooner rather than later, that Midoriya would be the one going home. Aizawa talked to the green haired youth and handed him another ball. Midoriya threw the ball and while it didn't break the sound barrier, Ranma was sure it had come close. He started to wonder why he hadn't used the quirk earlier on and than he spotted the purple and clearly broken finger.
It was like the kids body couldn't handle his quirk. He heard of it a few times, but it was usually in preemie's and their parents would teach their child just enough not to activate the quirk if at all possible.
The blonde started going off but Yaoyorozu chose that moment to respond and Ranma turned his attention to her.
"It would take a lot to make a tank and the rocket, I'll probably make a rocket launcher or something." She said. It wasn't or something, she made a full on bazooka and blasted the ball a respectful seven hundred and one meters.
He blew through the last three tests. Distance running was done with burst of his quirk, he ended in first a few seconds in front of Iida. In the seated toe touch he hadn't the slightest problem and went so far as to grab his heels. The grip strength however, the six armed guy outclassed him by a wide margin. The others weren't even close to him but it was funny watching the blonde try to blow the thing up.
It took the computer no more than a minute and a half to calculate their total scores leaving Ranma in the top sport with Yaoyorozu coming in second. Izuku was dead last.
"Relax, it was just a rationale deception to encourage all of you to achieve your best results. Gather a syllabus back in the class room and those of you with special diets head to see lunch rush before you head home for the day. Be sure to be on time tomorrow." The grumpy man trundled off.
"Rational deception my left shoe, he'd have expelled all of us if he didn't think we were worth it." Ranma grumbled as headed toward the locker room.
Yaoyorozu stopped just ahead of him. "You don't think he was lying?"
"I've met plenty of liars in my travels. To the best of 'em the truth and lies are switchable. Aizawa is one of the best I've ever seen." He shook his head, "yeah, he'd have expelled us all if it suited him."
Ranma changed and headed toward the cafeteria, and found himself in line with, Shoji, Yaoyorozu, Ashido and Hagakure. They all looked at him oddly and he laughed.
"Just cause I look normal doesn't mean I am ya know? I gotta eat spicy foods and certain minerals and such to keep my body temperature right."
They seemed to accept that and explained their own diets, or at least as much as they were will. Hagakure needed vitamin D, Yaoyorozu needed her lipids restored, Ashido's diet was based around the need to keep her acid strong and keep her skin resistant to her acid and Shoji explained his need for collagen and the like, which was more than a touch eerie as he could talk and eat without the slightest of problems. It was honestly the most peaceful hour of Ranma's day by far.
As they walked toward the front entrance, a taller boy wearing a hakama pointed his bokken at Ranma. "Halt and explain thine relation to the noble clan Tendo!"
"Saotome-San do you know this person?" Shoji asked pointedly.
Ranma shook his head, "not a clue, but I am staying at the Tendo Dojo."
It was apparently the wrong thing to say as the other teen charged forward thrusting the wooden sword as if to skewer Ranma. "I'll not allow it! I strike!"
"Move," Ranma roared at his classmates side stepping the sword and thrusting out a hand he caught the flat of the practice blade knocking it skyward. Turning on his heel he swung his foot up and struck the boys wrist, to Ranma's annoyance however, he managed to hold on to his weapon.
"You seem to have a small measure of skill for a cur." The other boy said and brought the blade down in a diagonal slash. "However, it is lacking compared to my own mastery of kendo!"
"Take a breath man, sheesh who are you anyway?" Ranma heard Hagakure call and apparently so had his opponent who froze mid-swing. He seemed to be thinking it over before thrusting his sword into the air.
He nodded solemnly, "Indeed it is only honorable to give ones name, I am Tatewaki Kuno, the blue thunder of Shiketsu high! Age Seventeen." A roll of thunder resounded in the distance.
When he didn't start his attack up choosing instead to factor Ranma with a hard stare, Ranma grinned. "Saotome Ranma, Heir of the school of indiscriminate grappling and Freshman in the Heroics class here at Yuuei."
"I would say well met, however I shall not allow a plebeian such as yourself continue to pay homage to Akane Tendo in her own home! Have at thee!" The strikes were faster than before and Ranma could see tears opening up along his uniform.
Falling into a backward roll he shoved Yaoyorozu out of the way as Kuno began to stab the air in front of him with a continuous shout of 'Strike!' Ranma kicked off the tree and flipped through the air to land atop the outstretched weapon, he glanced at the tree and winced, the tree trunk was shredded and carried deep gouges as if some one had been hacking at it with a real blade. For her part Yaoyorozu seemed to be unharmed, returning his attention to his attacker visibly shook.
"You jerk! What if I hadn't pushed Yaoyorozu out of the way huh? She ain't the one you got a beef with!" Ranma yelled at Kuno who was glaring up at him.
Kuno scoffed, "no damsel would ever allow themselves to remain in the company of a rogue such as yourself! Unless..." He seemed aghast as some form of private realization reached him. "Your quirk, it allows you to bespell such a damsel so that you may lay your fiendish hands upon them!"
"What?" Both he and Yaoyorozu cried.
His blood turned to fire and his heart thudded in his ears, his eyes filled with the cobalt fire and steam began pouring off his skin.
"That's enough!" Aizawa said he stalked over to them fast enough his hair was pulled above his head. He glanced around trying to assess the situation before he turned to Shoji. "Explain."
A tentacle extended and a mouth formed at its end. "This is Tatewaki Kuno, Shiketsu student. He approached as we were leaving the grounds and after enquiring about Saotome-san's relationship with one Tendo Akane, he attacked."
Aizawa's rubbed his temples and Ranma found himself tempted to do the same. He wanted to hit the older boy, drive his face into the stone beneath them. Only the fact that he was on Yuuei's grounds had stopped him.
"Did Saotome retaliate?" Aizawa asked stiffly turning his blood shot eyes to Ranma and Ranma bristled.
"No, Sensei. Save for a single disarming maneuver he has focused on evasion."
The cloth about his neck surged forward wrapping about Kuno like a boa constrictor. "I believe Skiketsu will have a few choice words for you. The rest of you, head home."
"Release me vile instructor! I am Tatewaki Kuno! I shall destroy the foul demon between me and my beloved." Kuno howled swinging his bokken as best he could using just his wrists.
With a snort Ranma stepped on his perch and gathered his bag and started toward the group with a final glance at Aizawa who'd disarmed Kuno and was dragging him toward the building Ranma followed the others out of the school.
"So what's your stop?" Hagakure asked as they reached the station. "I'm over in Chiba."
He chuckled, "I don't take the train! As soon as you guys get on I'm heading home on foot."
Kyoka swung her earphone jack about and glanced at him, "so you live close by, that's cool, I wanted to move closer but my parents were against it."
"Naw, I live in Nerima. It'll be a good run."
Everyone of them stared at him in shock, "Man Saotome I knew you were in shape but to run to Nerima?" Mina exclaimed.
"It's no big deal, I've run farther carrying a lot more on a time limit. or there was the time pops decided we had to catch a train after it left the station." He shrugged and realized exactly what he'd said. People always asked way more questions than he cared for when he opened his big mouth about the trip "anyway I gotta go." He waved and took off.
End.
Authors Note: So chapter two is here, it's a pretty simple chapter over all.
There's a bit more information on Ranma's quirk and a hint at some of his abilities. Here's hoping you picked up on them.
I have not made a pairing for this story. At this time I don't really have an intention of doing so. That will come far, far into the future.
I know I glossed over the lunch scene and I can flesh it out if you think that would be something your interested in.
The curse hasn't shown up in class yet but that's because there hasn't been that one most opportune moment. You know the one I mean. Right? If you don't you will find out soon.
Honestly I thought about continuing on and making the chapter even longer but I want to make sure I don't rush it to much.
Folks I'm still looking for a beta reader! If your interested in being part of creating this story or just getting a chance to read the chapter a few days before anyone else. Shoot me a P.M.
Reviews:
SafetyHazart: Congratulations on being the first to review and thank you for reading. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope you will continue to do so! Feel free to hit me up with any one question which I will answer honestly (perk of being first.) Thank you for taking time to review!
Guest: I'm glad you enjoyed. Thanks for reading and taking the time to review!.
Feldoran: I have plans for Akane and I don't think bashing her will do much good in the long run. I assure you the quirk isn't random at all and Willa has a major purpose beyond being a annoyance repellent. I hope you'll continue reading and find out! Thank you for taking the time to read my story! Thank you for reviewing!
Guest #2: I'm glad you were entertained, perhaps in the future you'll leave a name in the comments so I can use that instead of guest #2. I hope you continue to enjoy and thank you for reading! Thanks for your review!
: Thank you for reading! I'm glad to know you've enjoyed it. Sadly I must say Ranma's quirk will remain the same in both forms otherwise he'd be an odd Todoroki. Thanks for leaving a review, it is much appreciated.
Final Note:
I am on you can find me at Samuel_W_Ryder, I have a few original stories and I plan on starting to add these chapters there as well!
