Chapter 24
I don't own gacha world
"Halt!" a sudden wall of ice appeared in front of me, I couldn't stop in time and slammed into it. Blood ran from my nose and a quick shake of my head cleared my thoughts.
"Ow…" I groaned and stood up, who just creates a wall in front of a running person? Like, that spells injury.
"State your business!" The voice came from a yellow haired girl wielding a staff topped with a snowflake. This had to be the wall person…
"Um just passing through?" the girl cocked her eyebrow before frowning at me and raising her staff aggressively.
"It's impossible for a player to get to Xkour skylines! So tell me the truth!"
"Alright, for some reason me and my friends got teleported here, I think it has to do with the creator of this game world!" the girl seemed to think about this for a minute before nodding and taking a more relaxed stance.
"For you to pass you must first complete the trials of ice! I am lady frost and shall conduct the trial upon you!" Ellie and Shu finally caught up behind me, both panting, their cheeks flushed red.
"Took your sweet time, didn't you?" I joked at the two before returning my gaze to lady frost.
"Shall I start the challenge?" the girl asked, Ellie and Shu looked at each other confused, well they should be. They only arrived after the explanation of how to pass. But either way I nodded and unsheathed my sword. "Then let the challenge begin!" and with a bang of her staff against the ground monsters started spawning in between us.
"Hey Ellie, you wanted to see how this blade worked in combat right?" The fairy nodded and a smile grew on my face right before I launched myself into the nearest group, both hands on the hilt of my sword. The goblins and bats blood rained down upon the bridge, staining it. Switching between one handed and two handed grip was so easy with this sword, it felt so natural. My body felt so strong now for some reason, my vision accurate and my legs faster. The corruption in veins seemed to sing a song… a melody that resonated throughout my entire being, I could get lost into the song and fade away… leave my problems for someone else…
"Sora…" a voice called, it was a string that tied me back to reality! I grabbed that string and pulled myself out of the song, the corruption fell silent and I was left standing on the bridge with a bloody sword in my hand and no monsters left to kill.
