The room couldn't get any darker then this. Like an abandoned forest with heavy fog and the owls in the background who-ing and watching your every move.
Maya can't be scared. She's just in a dark room. She's always been locked in a dark room away from her mother, before.
But this was different. It wasn't just a dark room. She was chained up in a man's basement. CHAINED UP IN A FUCKING BASEMENT. Lord help her she knew she was about to be raped. She was about to be abused. She was about to be wiped clean with pleasureless pain with this man's dirty.
She didnt have the strength to move for she had tried with everything she had. She couldn't break free. She gave up, letting the tears flow down her cheeks. Her eyes burned red from straining to hold the tears in just a little longer.
She wanted to scream. Knowing that no one could hear her, since she was only in a basement. A dark basement. A dark room. She's screamed before, but he had only came downstairs to tell her to "shut the fuck up" no one would hear her plea anyway. When she tried again he would come down and lash her with a belt.
Who knows where Katy is. Who knows if she's even alive. Maya couldn't ask him. He would only tell her that she's fine. He's a dick for thinking that's she's stupid enough to believe his lies. Who ever he is.
If she was going to die she at least needed to know who's killing her. She's knows it's not her father. She knows her father's voice, for crying out loud! He came to apologize for leaving Katy and her to suffer. But of course she just couldn't forgive him.
She doesn't remember Katy having any affairs with any man besides Shawn.
Dear god it can't be Shawn could it. No she's being ridiculous, this man sounded nothing like Shawn. Shawn wouldn't do this to her anyway, not after he gained her trust.
Who the hell is this man. Fuck this sounds like a cliche horror story. She chuckled to herself.
Damn it's really cold in here, she thought. Oh, right. This perverted bitch stripped her half naked. All she had on was lace underwear. Don't ask where she got one. Why she needed one in the first place. She is a fucking 17 year old, these are essentials!.
The door opened. A slight breeze came through the door, she shivered slightly.
"Why good evening, Penelope" he smirked eyeing her up and down. She wiggled around feeling very uncomfortable with the man looking at her. How the hell did he know her middle name?.
"Now, keep this between you and I. My son wouldn't like what I've done to you and he ain't gonna find out soon" he stepped forward caressing her face, his hand sliding down from her jaw to her chin.
"He calls me a nasty, dirty old man. But really I'm just looking for a little pleasure" his smile was crooked. The moon shined through the window and reached his eyes. That's when Maya caught it.
His eyes
Boy did those look a lot like.
Oh no.
No nononono. Her breath hitched. Her heart paced faster and faster.
She needed to remember to breathe or she would lose it.
Breathe.
Breathe.
This couldn't be. What! How!
Maya was really afraid now. This man. He wasn't someone his mother knew. He wasn't someone his mom once had an affair with.
He was...
"Maya!" Riley shouted. Maya jerked her head upwards at Riley's.
"Are you ok, you zoned out a little bit and you look very terrified." Riley, Lucas, Farkle and Zay all watched her worriedly.
Maya averted her gaze to the boys, before stopping to look at his eyes. The resemblance is uncanny. She bit her lip anxiously, quickly got up and packing her things.
"W-where are you going" Riley shouted after her.
Maya didn't stop, didn't turn to look at her, didn't answer her. She just kept walking. Of all the times Maya's been near him she couldn't understand why she was getting these flashbacks now. She's been perfectly fine near him before.
Lucas got up to go after her but Zay caught his hand. "Don't go after her man, it's not worth it. She'll only ignore you more." Lucas hesitated for a minute before sitting back down.
Seriously, what does Zay know, Lucas curiously looked at Zay. His eyebrows furrowed in a questioningly.
Maya needed to go to aunt May's. She needed to go to her room and rest. Her stitched hand was pounding a little bit, as the blood that rushed in her hand felt like it was going a millions of miles because of the way her heart was beating faster.
She jogged through the sidewalks ignoring all the rude comments she got for bumping into people. When she finally reached the bakery, she rushed in. Glad to see that she had no customers present at the moment.
May jumped a little bit. "Maya?, Honey are you alright" she opened her arms as Maya went and gave her a tight hug. Her head rested against her chest. Maya started crying silently.
"Aunt May, I keep getting these flashbacks" her breath hitched. "O-of his father and I was chained up and-" May brushed her hair with her hand.
"Shhh, it's ok. It's alright. I'm right here ok, breathe Honey, Breathe." Maya's breathing evened and she closed her eyes letting herself listen to May's heart beat. "Go upstairs and get some rest. Alright?, I'll make something to eat in the mean time."
Maya let go of her aunt, nodding her head and wiping her tears away. With that she went upstairs lazy with every step.
At first her rest was easy. Sleeping with no interruptions. That was until she had this nightmare and it was him again. Only it wasn't him, it was his son. Maya woke from her sleep. Chest rising heavily. Her heart beating fast and she rested her hand over it. Her breath jagged and body filled with sweat. She checked the time.
7:45
She slowly got up and went to the bathroom to wash her face and cool down from the sweat.
"What is wrong with me." She looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes dark and baggy. Face pale. Hair all messy.
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME." She shouted again. She hit the mirror. it didn't shatter, she couldn't bare with more glass cutting her hand. More blood. She held the bridge of her nose as she tried to calm down. She splashed her face with water again. She left the bathroom remembering that Aunt May said she would make her something to eat. She walked down the stairs with heavy steps.
"Oh. Goodie you're awake. I made you your favorite buttered toast. Some nice honey tea and-" May looked up at her niece.
"Sweetie are you sure you're alright? You... you look terrible." May walked over to her holding her face in her hands, Maya chuckled.
"Gee thanks, May." She replied sarcastically.
"I had another nightmare. Except it was with..." she swallowed something heavy. She couldn't even say his name.
"I don't know if I could do this anymore, May. I mean I see him everyday i-it's a constant reminder." She spoke frustrated. May rubbed her back soothingly as Maya sat down to eat the food that was made for her.
"I know Sweetie I know. But it's not like you could just ignore him, it doesn't fix anything. I'm sure they're probably talking about you right now thinking somethings wrong. You can't keep this up for long." May said. Maya sighed knowing she was right. She took a sip of the tea.
"So what should I do? I don't want to tell him what's going on. He'll go buck wild! He sees red and he's a bull mindlessly chasing a flag." Maya stressed.
"That, Honey, Is a decision you make on your own. I can't tell you what to do. You do what you think is right." With that May left her alone to eat her food. Maya sat there lost in thought. She decided that she'll tell them. It's going to take a lot of time. Maybe not right now, but she will tell them soon.
