I genuinely forgot about where Chad like y'know that thing. So my reaction fam. My reaction.
Just- AGH
Flash:
To her surprise, Chad held a smile- almost a smirk and shook his head, he sighed gently before inching closer to her. "Oh Taylor." He said in the most calming voice imaginable, he always knew that this little trick worked to calm her down. For only he could say it in such a way. (ME: Hold up. You jerk that's not very cool don't even.)
He sat her up on the table, giving her a quick hug before looking down at her elegantly radiant face. (Me: Oh a hug, I suppose that was nice.)
"Taylor, Taylor, Taylor..." He said playing with her hair, his face drawing closer. "You have no idea how much I've missed you." (Me: *scooching back slowly* aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAGH-)
Taylor looked up "...What?" (Me: What? Oh dang I think I remember this)
Chad chuckled and looked her dead in the eyes before whispering, "I missed you Taylor McKessie." that was what she heard before his lips slammed onto hers. (Me: HOLY SHIZ YQUQYUWEGQUYO GWQE OH MY GOSH WHY!)
AND THEN I LEFT GUYS. I LEFT RIGHT AFTER THAT FOR LIKE, A FEW MONTHS. WHO DOES THIS. HE'S ENGAGED. WAIT THAT'S WHAT THIS STORY IS ABOUT XD OH MY GOSH MAN. LET'S REMIND ME SHALL WE?
BEGIN!
So there it is. I'm back here we go.
8/14/18. You tolerate so much I promise you. Thank you.
The next week- not weeks, WEEK- was hell for Taylor. Shaylah seemed to be an absolute dream girl. She was usually all smiles and always in awe of her fiance. She was caring, nice and always excited when it came to planning the wedding.
But somehow, on top of these qualities, Shaylah also was full of frowns,
Monday
Taylor looked at Shaylah with a tired look as she struggled to hold yet another stack of magazines. Taylor's office seemed to be buried in papers. Shaylah was sitting on the window seat, playing with her long golden hair and looking out of the window absentmindedly.
Taylor sighed in exhaustion. "Shaylah."
"Yes, Taylor?" She looked over, softly blinking. Taylor paused for a moment. Her eyes were gorgeous, her body was in great shape, her hair was perfect, it was like the sun itself illuminated her smooth skin for effect as she blessed the world with her beauty.
No wonder Chad was marrying her.
Why wouldn't he?
Taylor cleared her throat and remembered why she called the woman in the first place. "Shaylah, it's been six hours. I came in at 7 this morning and let you in early because we have to get your wedding binder done." Taylor said as calmly as possible.
Shaylah huffed and pouted her lips, sinking lower into the window seat. "Well I wanted a Hollywood theme." She sang as if annoyed. You also wanted a fairy tale ending. Taylor thought.
"Along with a lot of other things, Ms. Turner." Taylor reminded her, though she didn't need reminding. "It was very unorganized and overwhelming. You can't have a Hollywood theme and then have a coronation crown for you. Those are two completely different things." She tried to reason.
"But it's my wedding and I want it!" Shaylah whined.
Oh gosh she could whine.
"I know…" Taylor said feeling slightly guilty. That wasn't even the start of Shaylah's crazy plan. Everything was so random and over the top. However, she had a point. It was her wedding…
"There's not even anything good in here!" Shaylah exclaimed, flipping through a magazine. Suddenly, she gasped and stood up, bouncing in place.
"Shaylah are you alright?!" Taylor panicked. The bride to be just squealed before composing herself and wearing a cool look.
"I can't be a movie star and a queen? Fine then." She flicked the book so Taylor could see. "I want a homecoming/prom theme. I will have a tiara." Shaylah said. Taylor nodded.
"Yes Shaylah. Nice choice." Taylor smiled. 'Hopefully, it's your last choice.' She thought to herself.
In awe of herself,
Tuesday
Taylor sat in a chair at an outdoor table. She and her clients were currently outside the company building, in the yard. The backyard of 'The Happily Ever Afters' was quite lovely. The yard was 2 acres of healthy dark green grass, walkways, and various flowers. The scene itself looked like a fairytale. It was also used for photo shoots and as a place where the bride and groom to be could spend some quality time three were currently in the garden's gazebo, Taylor at one side of the table and the couple at the other. Chad was looking at the new (and well improved) binder.
"I love it." Chad smiled at the wedding binder. "Let's do it."
Shaylah gasped. "Really?"
"Yeah!" He grinned. "It's a cute idea and it's flexible. We can even goof off and take 'awkward parent photos' of our friends. Plus, you can still change the theme- BUT only do it once please!" Chad laughed. "You can get a little carried away silly girl." He cooed with a fond smile.
"But I'm cute!" Shaylah said in a baby voice. Taylor blinked.
Did she just call herself cute?
Chad chuckled. "And beautiful."
Taylor turned her head to his chair, her professional grin still plastered on and her brown eyes involuntarily wide.
WOW THANKS!
"And sexy." Shaylah said slyly. Taylor turned her head to her chair.
"An absolute enchantress." Chad purred
'Okay their voices are only getting lower.' Taylor thought with a small cringe.
"Your world."
"My universe."
"Your wife." Shaylah giggled as the space closed in more.
"My life." Chad
Taylor wished the Earth would swallow her. So uncomfortable. Then her knight in shining Jordans arrived.
"Hey! There's no space for Jesus between you two!" Troy called out from across the field with a sparkling, joy-filled grin.
The couple flinched. Taylor quietly sighed with relief.
"Oh! Taylor, I'm sorry I completely forgot you were here…" Shaylah gasped and a pretty pink blush printed itself on her cheeks. Taylor kept smiling and shaking her head, a symbol of assurance. A symbol that everything was fine. Though it was just the opposite. Chad blinked and his face changed. She sighed and shook her head.
"You know what? I lost track of the time." Taylor said, standing up. "It's like, 2 PM!" She managed a chirpy laugh. "Why don't you two walk around this beautiful yard, talk, get lunch!" They nodded and went. Troy met her as she walked out of the gazebo.
"Hey, you." Troy smiled as he gave her a side hug. He quieted his voice a little bit. "Are you alright?"
Taylor took a shaky breath. "As fine as anyone else could be in this situation." She sighed, somewhat admitting her feelings to him.
"So...heartbroken?" He tried to get honesty out of her.
"It's awkward! Okay?" She smiled, ignoring his question to a certain degree. "It hardly…" Oh no her eyes. "It hardly hurts."
"Taylor don't kid yourself…" Troy sighed softly. "Go on before you burst." He gave her another hug. "We'll catch up soon. Right now I have a date with my wife." She smiled and nodded, waving to him as he went off before making her way back to her office.
Selfish,
Wednesday
Taylor wasn't sure how she should feel about this situation:
"I'm telling you we can't afford Shakira!" Chad told Shaylah in frustration.
"We can afford whatever we want! We're rich." Shaylah crossed her arms.
"We won't be 'rich' after we have to pay for everything, and eventually start a family! We can't depend on your parents for everything!" Chad groaned.
"Like hell we can!" Shaylah fired.
On one hand, it was almost delightful to see them fighting. It proved to her, in some odd way, that Chad could see Shaylah as an imperfect human being. She was just like anyone else, just with...beautiful hair, perfect eyes, a perfect smile-
"You guys?" Taylor stood up from her chair, calling to them. They both stopped and looked at her.
On another hand, she had a huge mega bonus coming her way. It just wouldn't do to have a stressed out bride and groom.
"This week we're supposed to be running over your budget plan...I'm not seeing any limitations." She said. "Why don't you two list everything you want on seperate lists, and then deduct what goes over the comfort zone?"
"That sounds like a good plan. Shaylah?" Chad looked over at her.
"I'll do it... but I'm not giving up Shakira!" She huffed. "No matter the cost. I love Shakira!" Then why were they doing this?
Chad rolled his eyes. "I don't."
Shaylah smiled and patted his cheek. "Aw sweetie…" She cooed, going back to her seat. "That doesn't matter." She happily wrote Shakira on her list.
Well, there was no way they were going to argue with that.
Somewhat uninterested in planning her own wedding,
Thursday
Taylor sighed, spinning around in her office chair. Danforth-Turner was due at 8:00 that morning. What time was it now?
Taylor looked at her watch. 9:30. What in the world was going on? Gabriella peeked into her office.
"Taylor, I heard you rescheduled all of your appointments for today? Why?" She looked into her office. "What's going on?"
"Chad and Shaylah were supposed to be here an hour and a half ago." She explained. "I rescheduled my appointments because they decided to take another look at their budget plan. It was a complete redo and it cut into Eliza Bank's time. My only other appointment, Tanya Mason, had to be extended as well because of a new complication. I had to."
"So where are Chad and Shaylah?" Gabriella questioned. A chime went off, it was Taylor's laptop. She opened her email.
Taylor gasped. "Noooooo!"
Gabi rushed over. "What is it? What's wrong?"
Taylor read the sickening words in absolute dismay. "'Hey Taylor, it's Chad. I'm so sorry but we have to reschedule. Shaylah had some old friends stop by, and they want to spend the day together. I don't think she wants to come in…'"
"You've got to be kidding me." Gabriella groaned. "Amelia!" She called into the hallway. "Call Eliza Banks back please! There's been a mistake!" Taylor groaned and put her head down on her desk in dismay.
And rude.
Friday
It was happening again. They were arguing about money. On one hand, Shaylah was right. Her parents were paying for a lot of things. Apparently they owned a very popular hotel chain. They had the money to do it. On the other hand,
"If I'm supposed to provide for us, why am I having your father pay for things he doesn't need to?!" Chad asked
"Because that's what I want!" Shaylah exclaimed. "This will make our wedding perfect! It will make a statement!"
"Will it now?" Chad chuckled softly, mirthlessly. "Because, having Bruno Mars...and Shakira...sing a duet...will make our wedding a hit."
"Yes!" Shaylah said. "We make good money! I manage one of the hotels, you do your Sportscenter thing," Chad looked away. He and Troy had managed to get a show on ESPN, centered around the topic of basketball. It did pretty well, and it made up a bit for them partially giving up their dreams of playing.
Shaylah scoffed softly. "I don't get why you don't see that."
"I just don't see why we need it!" Chad said in frustration.
"Maybe he's right." Taylor mumbled. They both looked. "If we stick to a limited plan, it'll be less stressful on the both of you. Weddings can be so expensive, and I see you want this to be spectacular. However, Chad clearly doesn't want to depend on anyone to lend an extra hand. So maybe if we-"
Shaylah scoffed. "Let me ask you something, Taylor. Are you marrying Chad?" Oh no.
"Shaylah!" Chad exclaimed with wide eyes.
"N...no." Taylor said at the same time.
Shaylah ignored Chad, having gotten a response from the person she asked. "I see. So that being said, do you think that you have a better say than I do because you were hired to help plan this wedding?"
"No! No of course not." Taylor said.
"Uh-huh. I see." Shaylah nodded. "Tell me, Taylor. Have you been married before?" Taylor flinched. How cold.
"Stop it." Chad glared.
"No, I haven't." Taylor said.
"Do you have a boyfriend? A fiance?" She questioned. A shake of the head. "So what qualifies you to meddle in our relationship...when you can't even hold one of your own?" She tilted her head, piercing blue eyes intimidating the planner before her.
"Shaylah. That's enough." Chad said firmly.
...
She blinked before looking at a still frozen Taylor. She seemed to regret her harsh words. "Oh honey... I'm so sorry, I should have controlled my temper. Oh goodness, did I hurt you?" Chad silently asked the same question by moving a concerned gaze to her. Taylor opened her mouth, but it took her a moment to find her words.
"No! No of course not." Taylor laughed. "It was a bit uncalled for, but ultimately, I'm fine. This happens all the time. Besides, I know you're very stressed about the wedding. Why don't you go to the spa on the third floor? We have some great masseuses down there. I don't think you've actually tried our perks yet."
The soon to be bride looked mystified. "There's a spa?"
"Of course!" Taylor beamed. "It's one of the many things that make our company the best in New Mexico! Here, let me give you a pamphlet." She did so. "And I'm so sorry we haven't really gotten to the tour, I guess I was so focused on getting you two to your happily ever after as soon as possible that I forgot to show you our Happily Ever After." She joked, but Chad was concerned at her words. "Go ahead! It's about time for my lunch break anyway." She opened the office door when they stood and held out their pamphlets. "We'll come back to this in a minute." They made their way out.
As soon as they left, Taylor allowed the tears to well up in her eyes.
"Taylor? Tay, are you there?" A voice asked across her phone.
She quickly moved over to her phone. "Troy?" She replied.
"I was trying to reach you to ask if you were okay to catch up today...the yelling in your office was so loud I don't know if you even heard the beep...Gabi mentioned earlier that the phone needed a fix. I see what she means...as soon as I pushed your extension you immediately came online and...gosh Tay are you alright?" He asked.
"Ye…" She began before the tears welled up again. "No. No I'm not. I'm honestly kind of humiliated." She gave a laugh, but all that did was cause a tear to roll down her cheek.
"I'm so sorry...do you want me to tell him how you feel? Anyone would be heartbroken here." Troy asked.
"No!" Taylor quickly said. "N-no it was my fault. I got way too involved and-"
"You're a planner, Taylor. It's your job to get involved! That's what they're paying you for! Obviously they can't do it themselves!" Troy argued.
"This job is hard for me as it is. If my emotions, the real ones, are brought to attention, it will only make it more awkward. That'll make it worse." Taylor sniffled.
"Well I'm not sitting here and doing nothing. What I heard was unacceptable. I won't give hint to your feelings that may or may not still be there, but I will hint to common sense. This is a sensitive situation by nature. Don't think about arguing with me about it because I already text Chad to step outside the spa in 30 minutes. I'm grabbing you one of the sandwiches I brought and that's that." He said.
"Troy you don't have to-" Taylor began before the phone beeped again. That was that she supposed...
At least she got a sandwich out of it.
More to come~ ^^ Don't forget to review, and be on the lookout for more updates this week etc! What did you guys think of Shaylah's outburst?
