Notes: In this one, Spencer and Aria are 28 years old. They have only been together for six years because they were idiots who waited until the end of college to reveal their feelings.

Enjoy! :)

*Handwritten notes

*Monday*

Aria absolutely loves her job as a Professional Photographer.

She gets to photo mostly little kids, or sibling groups pictures.

The best thing about her job, however, is that Spencer, her girlfriend of 6 years, always packs her lunch, and leaves her cute little notes in her lunchbox.

Today is no different.

The lunches vary day to day, with a sandwich and either an apple, orange, or a banana, and some kind of chips. Today is a (vegan) turkey and cheese sandwich, an orange already sliced up, and a bag of Lay's potato chips.

There is a red sticky note on the inside of the lunchbox lid that reads…

"Babe,
I love you so much, and I hope your day has been great so far.
Please say 'hi' to baby Jake and his brother, Tommy, for me.
I'll see you tonight!
Love, Spencer"

Aria beams as she unsticks the note. It always gives her feelings when she opens the lunchbox up and sees them. Her heart races and her face practically splits into a big smile.

Pulling open her desk drawer, Aria places this note with the others. She has been a Professional Photographer for nearly three years now, and every day, Monday–Friday, with the exceptions of snow days, bad thunderstorms, or Holidays, Spencer has packed her lunch, and left a note for her every day she comes to work.

They have accumulated over the years, and she already has one entire shoebox filled with the notes, and just started a second box a few weeks ago.

*Tuesday*

At the same time Aria is reading her note for Tuesday of this week

(Ar,
Please excuse the fact that you have no chips today.
I know how much you love your "junk food", but I may have accidently ate the last bag.
Anyway, I hope your day goes well. I will be thinking of you! I love you very much.
Love, Spencer)

Spencer is freaking out. Emily stopped by the office on her lunchbreak, and is trying to calm her friend down.

"Spence, take a breath! I know you are worried about messing up or something, but we've gone through the list multiple times. You have the ––, right?"

Spencer nods.

"Right here."

"Okay, and you know how you want to do it, yes?" Again, she gets a nod. "All right. And Aria knows to wait until you get to her Studio before she reads the note on Friday, right?"

"Yes. Fridays are our lunch dates, so she always waits on me before eating."

"Okay, then." Emily comes over to her lifelong friend, and she places her hands on Spencer's shoulders. "Just take a deep breath, alright? Three more days, and you have your answer."

"Three more days." Spencer repeats, forcing herself to take deep breaths and to relax. "Three more days, and I will have my answer."

"Right. Now," Emily points to the desk. "Eat your food, Hastings."

*Thursday*

"Good morning, babe!" Aria chirps as she comes into their kitchen.

"Ah, ah, ah!" Spencer holds up a hand to stop her from coming closer. She is in the middle of writing her note and does not want Aria to spoil it.

"I'm almost done, and… there!" She hands the box to Aria with a warning. "No peeking, Young Lady!"

And Aria snorts at this dork whom she calls her girlfriend.

"You are such a doofus, Spencer Hastings."

She takes the box, or at least, tries to, but Spencer holds on to it, and pulls her in for a kiss.

"Yeah, but I am your doofus, and you looove meee."

"That I do, Hastings." Aria returns the kiss. "That I do."

*Friday*

Today was odd.

It is Friday and that is usually the day Spencer comes from work to meet Aria here, and the two have lunch together.

Only, today, Spencer called her and told her that she "has a very important note" for Aria to read, and for the younger girl to open her lunchbox and take out the sheet of paper that is on top of her food.

Aria agreed, but was confused because, usually, Spencer does not leave a… sheet of paper? It is most sticky notes or, if they are out, a napkin or torn piece of paper.

But, she does as told.

She opens the lunchbox. She picks up the folded sheet of notebook paper, and closes the lunchbox before reading it…

"Aria,
From the day I met you, way back in second grade, I knew you were one of a kind.
As our friendship grew, my love for you blossomed. I started to look back on things and realized…
I have loved you since the day we met. I have been in love with you since that day.
I am sorry it took me so long to realize but, if you would let me, I would be absolutely honored
to spend the rest of our lives showing you how much I love you.

I have a question for you. To see it, please lift up each item of food,
starting with the apple, then the sandwich, and then the chips."

Aria swipes at the tears in her eyes and moves her hand towards her lunchbox. Her heart is pounding, and she is a little bit afraid, but then there is that part of her that is telling her this is going to be the best moment of her life.

She removes the apple to find a green sticky note. It says Will you…

The sandwich is placed next to the apple, and has a red note under it that says… please

Finally, she removed the Lay's BBQ chips, and feels her heart stop.

be my wife?

She looks up on instinct, and finds Spencer standing in front of her, a nervous smile on her face, and a black box in her hand.

However, it is not a ring box, but a long, slender one.

Spencer opens it with trembling hands, and reveals a simple silver-chain necklace. It has a heart pendent that has True Love inscribed on it.

They spoke once about this. About what kind of wedding they would want. Aria had stated that she didn't want a ring, but something like a necklace, to represent the marriage.

Aria is surprised that Spencer remembered. After all, that was ten years ago, when they were talking about their individual weddings as best friends, not their wedding as partners.

But now?

Now the tears stream down her face, and now Aria leaps around the desk, and now… now she jumps into Spencer's arms, choking out between tears…

"Yes! Yes, of course! Yes!"

I think I'm going to either do an alternate version of this, or a different proposal chapter because I have an idea where Spencer comes to see Aria, and sends a kitten to walk up to her. Then Aria bends down and takes the note attached to the kitten's collar. It will say "will you be my new mommy?"

And Aria will look up to see Spencer with a ring or a necklace box.

Anyway, please review and let me know what you thought! I have the next chapter finished so it will be up sometime in the next few days. :)
