Maya's POV
Chapter 3
I couldn't believe it. It was our first mission that was above a D-rank! I could barely sleep last night due to me being so excited, which I knew would come around to stab me in the back later on, but I don't care! I felt a warm breeze hit me as I stepped outside. My long black hair was tied up in a high ponytail, and my glasses were placed on top of my head. I know, it's pretty weird for me to need glasses when I have the Byakugan, but I had gotten sick when I was much younger than I am now and it caused my vision to deteriorate. I looked up and saw that the sky was clear, not a single cloud in sight. It was the perfect morning for our first B-rank mission.
I headed off. We had decided to meet up with Team 7 at the entrance of the village at 8 am. Our mission consisted of traveling to The Land Hidden in the Stars, and to guard the village due to recent attacks in nearby villages. It was pretty surprising that Lady Tsunade had allowed us to go on such an important mission. I could tell that Mia and Bella were excited to go when she told us. Their faces were priceless. I was so excited that I had almost hurt myself when trying to climb the wall in her office, but luckily that didn't happen due to Minato Sensei saving me before I got injured... heh.
I continued to walk to where we had planned to meet up. I eventually made it. I could see 6 people standing at the gate. It was my team, Team 12, and Team 7, which consisted of Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha. The only person missing was Kakashi-Sensei. This wasn't surprising at all though, as he's normally late for missions. Sakura told me that. I looked over to my teammates. Bella looked like she was about to explode, probably cause of the sun beating down on her face, making her look like a tomato, or from excitement. Probably both. Mia had looked like she had gotten no sleep at all. She was probably up all night overthinking things like she always did. I knew she was excited though.
Then I glanced over to Minato-Sensei, he seemed to be losing his patience, he was looking around trying to see if Kakashi-Sensei was nearby. My eyes couldn't seem to help looking over at Team 7 though. Sakura was yelling at Naruto, probably cause of something he said, he looked like he was about to cry. Sasuke didn't seem to take any notice of it, he was leaning against the wall with his eyes closed. Those three were something all right.
Mia had lifted her head up, and noticed me walking towards them. "Hey Maya! Took you long enough!" She slapped the back of Bella's head to stop her from daydreaming. "Hey! What was that for?!" Bella then continued to punch Mia's shoulder. I ran over to them. "Hey guys! Sorry I'm late, my alarm clock didn't go off." I scratched the back of my head awkwardly. Minato-Sensei had noticed I arrived and greeted me with a pat on the back. He smiled wide and continued to say, "Well guys, we should be ready to go soon, we're just waiting for Kakashi-"
"Kakshi-Sensei what took you so long?!" The raspy voice belonged to Naruto. We all looked over to see that Kakashi-Sensei had finally arrived. "Sorry everyone, I had gotten lost on the path of life." He said in his normal monotone voice. He laughed and squinted his eyes. He was probably reading that book he always had with him. Minato-Sensei clapped his hands and started, "Ok guys, is everyone ready to go?" We all nodded our heads. I was so excited, that I noticed my hands were shaking. "LETS GO ALREADY!" Naruto had yelled. He had a huge smile on his face, similar to his mother's. We soon had walked outside of the village, and began our treck to The Village Hidden in the Stars.
