Alec exhausted himself by staying up working all night the past couple of nights as he accidentally broke a special varse when he saw a spider at Magnus's. Now he's in a guilty spiral, luckly magnus is there to brake it.

Magnus gets his shadowhunter to finally sleep (while flustering him in the process)

contains: literal sleeping together, over exhausted / sad and flustered Alec,

It is 11pm and Alec was in his office at the institute trying to do some extra work, like he had been doing for the past 3 nights now. If it wasn't for his stamina rune he's pretty sure he would have passed out last night, like he almost did after there mission earlier this morning fighting a swarm of shax demons. But no matter how hard it gets he can't sleep, sleep is a peaceful luxury he doesn't deserve.

He was so focused on trying to force himself to keep his attention on his work, Alec hadn't even realised it had gotten dark until he couldn't see the page anymore. He knew he should really turn on the light now to avoid falling asleep, but the darkness felt so nice and gentle on his eyes that he just couldn't bring himself to turn on the light straight away.

Just as his eyes was falling shut again his mind began to run through the event that happened at Magnus's 3 days ago, to remind him he doesn't deserve to sleep.

Alec was in Magnus's loft after work like he quite often was. They had been cuddling on the sofa and watching some mundane moives to try and prepare Alec for there family game night they was having this weekend (which was only 2 days away now , he thought separately) with most of there friends and family and of course Magnus and Alec wanted to win any games they played.

At about 10 they decided to call it a night and head to bed, so Magnus turned off the tv and Alec went to go and put the popcorn bowls away. However on his way out of the lounge, this massive black spider came charging out from under the back of the sofa and stood proudly in the middle of the floor, Almost like it had been waiting and planning to scare Alec.

Startled by this and terrified of spiders Alec jumped backwards, spilling the little crumbs of popcorn and the little bit of leftover coke everywhere. This alone would have just made Alec a bit flustered and embarrassed around Magnus, but of course he had to go and knock the antique and very expensive varce magnus had been given for is 600 birthday on the floor too.

Magnus just laughed it off and teased him about the spider, which was now safely outside, until he realised Alec was really upset and tried to apologise but Alec interrupted him the minute he tried .

"your not the one who needs to be apologising, I'm not upset your teasing me , Izzy and Jace do that all the time... I'm soo sorry i knocked off your varse, is there anyway i could fix it or get you another one or something."

"i dout it as it was 200 years old , but honestly its ok Alexander, i was wanting to try something new anyway and now its the perfect opportunity to"

Magnus said in a calm and soothing voice however he could tell Alec wasn't convinced as he still failed meet his eyes and seemed fidgety.

"i'm really sorry" Alec said crouching down to pick up the sharp pieces of china.

Magnus crouched down beside him and gently lifted Alec's chin so there eyes could meet.

" really Alexander , you have no need to apologise, and if anyone should be apologising it should be the mean spider for scaring you"

Although he smerked slightly at the mention of the spider Magnus's eyes was stern and loving.

However despite this Alec still couldn't bring himself to belive that magnus wasn't mad at him as he had every right to be, he was a shadowhunter he fought demons, so one 'big' spider shouldn't be an exuse for braking Magnus's stuff.

Plus he's always messing up in one way or another no matter what he's doing or who he's with. He just can't seem to do anything right, no wonder Maryse, Robert and the clave was never satisfied with what he did no matter how hard he tried as he's not good enough for them he'll never be good enough for anyone.

Alec didn't rember when he had opened his eyes or put his feet up on the chair and hugged his leggs tight, nor did he relise he had began to cry but he really didn't want to move now, so he stayed like that staring into the corner of the room, with the bad thoughts of any and all mistakes he has made or been blamed for along with words like 'pathetic, selfish and weak'

He wasn't aware of how much time had passed, but he had began to become aware of his surroundings a little again as he was to emotionally and physically drained to cry much more tears however the thoughts and the sinking, clenching feeling was still there to stay.

Alec turnt on the lamp, that was way to bright for his eyes. He sqinted and hissed at first but as his eyes began to get use to it. Slowly he reached for his stele and tried to reactivate the stamina rune when genlte hands cought his just before it reched it.

Although he was to tierd to show it this gentle gesture had startled Alec a little as he definitely did not hear anyone come in.

Swiftly Alec raised his head until he was met with beautiful, golden cat eyes. Alec instantly felt his brething catch slightly as his heart rate begins to rise and his already cloudy, exhausted mind went completely blank. This was often his reaction when he saw Magnus gorgeous cat eyes.

"Alexander" Magnus started to speake in a quite and gentle voice clearly seeing how exhausted and emotional his young shadowhunter is, " please don't reactivate it, you can sleep now"

"no i_i can't i don't deserve it" alecs voice broke as he spoke, his words shaky and forced

"shhh it's ok angel , of course you do, you deserve it and need it probably more than anyone right now, is it ok if i lift you?"

Magnus's voice was calm and gentle which is just how Alec needed it.

Knowing just how stubborn his shadowhunter can be, Magnus wrapped his arms around Alec in the perfect position to be able to carry him, before Alec could even answer. Yet he still waited for a sign that Alec had given in before he lifted his precious angel.

So gently, Magnus guided Alexanders head so it was in the crook of his neck. He couldn't help the affectionate smile that spread across his face when he heard the adorable mixture of a pleasant hum and a light moan which was then followed by Alec wrapping his arms around Magnus. Magnus took this as him winning as subconsciously Alec had given him control even though part of him will still try to fight.

With the hand closest to the centre of the room magnus made a portal, then stoked Alecs hair before getting his hand back into position and carefully picking up his exhausted shadowhunter.

Magnus had portled them both into there bedroom in the loft so the second he stepped out he could slowly lower alec onto the bed. Once Alec was safely on the bed Magnus pulled the duvet over his sholders, then he cliked his fingers to magic both of them into some pajama bottoms.

As Magnus left Alecs side to get into bed on his side, Alecs eyes begun to flutter open and he forced himself to sit up, which took much more energy than it was suposed to.

Swiftly Magnus crowled onto the bed and without hesitation he started to stroke gently up and down Alec spine, which he knew was one of Alecs weaknesses.

As he did so he wispered mischievously into Alecs ear.

"hey baby, where do you think your going?"

Alec felt his cheeks heat up without his permission.

"i uh i_i um" Alec tried to force the words out of his mouth but non formed.

"what's the matter angel? did you lose your train of thought?"

Magnus teased, speaking slow to cause Alec as many gose bumps as he could, whilst he also continued to stroke Alecs spine.

"i uh... you know i have... T_this isnt fair .. yyou know exactly what your doing to mee"

"oh yeah? whats am i doing to you ?"

"a_a uh .. ah t_thatss mean mmags"

"Aww i know i'm sorry, but the more flustered you are, the less you'll be able to fight, the easier it is to get you to sleep."

"so i can do things like this ..."

Magnus wrapps his spear arm delicately around Alec's waist and began to gently pull them both back down onto the bed, so he was laying with his head on the pillow while Alec's on his chest right on his heart beat.

"w_wait magnus i"

But the second his bear back came into contact with Magnus's chest Alec melted into him.

" its ok Alexander, we will talk about what's going on , tomorrow, now you need to sleep"

When Alec was comfortably on Magnus, the warlock used one hand to trace all the runes on Alec's stomach and sides, while his other hand stroked Alec's soft hair. and by now Alec was barley holding on.

"Magss!" Alec tried to wine

" it's ok angel , let your eyes close, I'll still be here when you wake up, then we can talk...

goodnight my gorgeous shadowhunter"

no longer having the energy to even mildly protest, or the will to move from the safe and comforting position Alec reluctantly gave in and gave Magnus a quite and half mumbled..

" hmm goodnight--mags"

"Good night my poor perfect Angel."
