Boom Was the sound that shook the entire landscape. The robot pulled its fist out of the ground and proceeded to chase its prey with heavy legs of steel stomping through the terrain. A little blonde girl in shorts, a t-shirt and hiking boots scurried along the dirt path for her life, dodging the flying fists and laser beams of the contraption pursuing her. She had a personal weapon that she could use to defend herself...but it was difficult to control. All she could do was wait for an opportunity to turn from defense to offense.
Meanwhile, the noon sun beat down on the jungles that the doom patrol was traveling through. The members were searching for the brotherhood of evil's hideout when they spotted a little girl fleeing from a giant robot that they could tell was employed by their enemies, judging by the design. Robotman was able to tackle it but was flung away in the opposite direction. The robot had been forced to take its eyes off the girl and turn around to face the group of superheroes that were going in for their attacks. It was then that they heard a rumbling sound and saw a large portion of the ground being lifted into the air. Terra lifted her hands and quickly brought them down, the rock came crashing down onto the enemy, destroying it once and for all. After the battle was over, the team inquired her about her powers and decided to welcome her into their ranks. Time passed, Terra was trained along with another somewhat new recruit named Garfield, also called "Beast Boy" by his peers. The leader, Mento, had coached both of them and helped the youth sharpen their skills. He especially focused on Terra's powers and spent much time in helping her gain better control over them. As she and Garfield trained together, went on missions together, ate and slept together, they developed a friendship which soon blossomed into a romantic relationship as time went on. With each passing day, they grew closer and closer.
