Writer's Note:
Doctor Who is iconic after over several decades and so are the dreaded Daleks themselves, while the Daleks have shown up during an episode airing during a festive season like Christmas, what it be like if the Daleks showed up and attacked during Christmas.
Oh, that would be nuts. So let's dive in, Doctor Who belongs to BBC, folks!
Every year and every December, every Winter solstice and every Christmas, the thought of the world coming to an end never came to mind nor did people think in a thousand years that the universe's most feared conquerors would come and attack the planet.
The world's interaction with the unknown alien galaxy had been very sparsely known, but it had happened. In 2006, the Sycorax came and went. In 2007, an alien star came down firing lightning beams and drained the Thames. In 2008, a spaceship nearly crashed into the planet.
In 2009, people were plagued by nightmares and, on Christmas day, a rogue Time Lord copied himself onto every living being on the planet and, not long after, the planet Gallifrey appeared in the sky before returning to its previous position in time and space.
A couple years went by and nothing much happened, hardly anything related to aliens showing up. All was normal on Christmas, but then. It happened...
December 24th, 2021, in London Square and elsewhere around the world, millions of people gathered around the humongous Christmas Tree in honor and commemoration of Christmas itself. Christmas Day was just a few hours away, it was a festive time, a time of happiness.
Men, women, their offspring, all of them sang carols, prayed to the heavens or spent time alone together in their homes, talking or watching TV or reading stories. The world was calm, little knowing of what was soon looming, their satellites failing to detect what was coming.
Miles beyond the surface of the planet Earth, two and a half miles away, a fleet of spaceships had just emerged from lightspeed, crewed by thousands aboard each one. They were ready, nobody stood in their way, they would not be stopped. Not this time.
For years, they had tried to achieve their goal, only to be stopped by him... or her... or, whomever their enemy was now supposed to be these days. Regeneration, genders and Time Lord society was extremely complicated, especially... the Dalek Empire.
Yes, the Daleks were coming again as they had, many times before, coming to rule over the Earth in their quest to exterminate any and all living things that weren't them. They saw it as their destiny to rule over all, dominating the universe and all inferior life forms.
In a matter of minutes and seconds, the Dalek fleet was already in the solar system and had just passed Mars, passing by the dark side and the light side of the moon as fast as their ships engines would carry them. They were getting closer, closer towards the planet.
Not only were people unaware of the impending invasion, but little did many know that they were already here, the Daleks had sent agents to Earth and the Recon Units had conducted acts of sabotage, taking out many satellites and disabling radars, infecting them with viruses.
For days, observatories had been discovering that their systems had been going off line and trying hard to get them back online, yet the Dalek-installed viruses were very strong. The Earth's detection systems were not coming back online in time for them to see the invasion coming.
The recon scouts had done their part well, even many of the Earth's defense systems were taken out of commission, the Dalek spies had done exemplarily well, making sure they were undetected by anyone wherever they went as they carried out their missions.
With the planet's defenses down, aside for a few warning systems and the Earth's military, the invasion force was ready for their attack and the first wave of Dalek ships would be the startup of the invasion. Within minutes, the Daleks were near Earth.
On the surface below, the Earthlings suspected nothing, even their leaders were unprepared for this as they thought this Christmas would be a time of calm like it had always been, even after the last many times that aliens had come and gone.
Aboard the Dalek Command Ship, a battalion of Daleks were at attention and prepared to play their part in the invasion. The Daleks would show no mercy, all would fall to the might of the weapons of the Dalek Empire and the armored mutants could see their forthcoming victory.
The lead Dalek, the Supreme Dalek, made his way onto the bridge. The Dalek Supreme was a tall and imposing, black colored Dalek with a deeper voice modeled after the Dalek Supreme from the War In The Medusa Cascade, the Daleks saw him as the Emperor Dalek.
Every Dalek eyestalk in the room focused on it, paying full attention and awaiting the order to begin the invasion. This had been a long time coming, centuries in the making, after years of trial and error, the Daleks were finally achieving their goal that had eluded them for a long time.
"My brethren," The Supreme Dalek said in its menacing tone, its voice similar to that of the Time War era Dalek Emperor, "Today is the dawn of a new age for all Dalek kind, the beginning of an era for the Dalek Empire. Today, we achieve our destiny.
"For years, we have sought to conquer the planet known as Earth but were thwarted time and time again just as our quest to conquer the cosmos was hindered, now we stand on the brink victory very shortly. The world is ours; the human race will fall.
"Earth shall be the crowning jewel of the Great Eternal Dalek Empire; the time has come at last. Go forth, show no mercy, destroy without conscience. Seek, locate, annihilate! Destroy the enemy, EXTERMINATE ALL OPPOSITION! EX-TER-MIN-ATE!"
"EXTERMINATE!" The Daleks chanted, "DALEKS CONQUER AND DESTROY! DALEKS CONQUER AND DESTROY! EXTERMINATE, ANNIHILATE, DESTROY! ENEMIES OF THE DALEKS WILL BE EXTERMINATED!"
Not wasting any time, the Supreme Dalek gave the command for the invasion to begin, relaying the order to the other ships as the Daleks continuously chanted their well-known and well-feared infamous battle cry, proclaiming themselves as the universe's supreme beings.
With the command given, the fleet moved in, the spaceships in battle formation, weapons primed. On the ground below, in every city throughout the world, people visiting or operating astronomical observatories were among the first to spot the incoming Daleks spaceships.
Even the radar detection systems still alive or just barely let off loud beeping noises or triggered the alarm, notifying defense and military observers, leaders and personnel that fleets of spaceships had just appeared in the skies above.
TV and radio broadcasts were interrupted with news bulletins regarding the alien invasion force, people at first were curious even as mass panic slowly set in. Very shortly, a transmission apparently from the ships began making itself heard worldwide.
People's hearts thumped nervously, cold chills crawling along their skin, as they heard the voice of the invaders coming over both the radio, computer, loudspeaker and TV. "EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!" The voice said.
For those who'd lived to see what had happened before in 2009, it was the stuff of nightmares happening all over again. This time, Earth had not been moved across space, the Daleks had returned in greater numbers and were invading full force with nothing to stop them.
Worldwide air force, navy and military divisions scrambled, prepared to confront the fleet that had now begun its attack, firing lasers and deploying ground forces. Cities across the globe were under siege with millions falling to the might of the Dalek Armada and Army.
People who'd finished decorating for Christmas were horrified to witness and hear of what was unfolding. Christmas was supposed to be a festive time of peace and happiness, not a time of fear, terror and darkness. Heck, Christmas wasn't supposed to be part of the end times.
Chaos reigned across America, Europe, Asia and other regions of the world as the Daleks unleashed their full might, exterminating and leveling everything in their path. England's government was in turmoil along with the country, the Prime Minister didn't know what to do.
In Chiswik, the peace and tranquility of Christmas in the Noble household was disrupted by the beginning of the invasion, first when the news story of it hit and when the family saw the invasion. Wilf and Sylvia were shocked and terrified, just like in 2009.
The one most affected by the sight of it was Shaun Temple's wife Donna Noble, a former companion of the Time Lord known as The Doctor. When Donna saw the ships, she was scared and confused, but then... she felt a sense of familiarity with the events unfolding.
Memories returned, one after another; Memories of a spaceship disguised as a box, memories of... The Doctor, memories of giant bees, memories of alien fat, memories of a spider creature, memories of another planet and memories of people turning into clones of someone else.
It was at that second that, as Donna fell to her knees, clutching her head in pain, a squadron of Daleks rolled into the area and set their sights on the Noble family. "EXTERMINATE!" The lead Dalek ordered, the Daleks' guns fired and, in seconds, Donna and her family were no more.
Torchwood didn't stand a chance like last time, Torchwood guards, armed and ready, fought against incoming Daleks only to get wiped away. Inside every Torchwood building, personnel were scrambling and some attempted to evacuate.
Air force fighters attacked the Dalek spaceships head on, the pilots fighting desperately to help fight off the invasion force. Tanks fired on the Daleks, knocking out a few ships only for many of them to get blown up by laser fire.
Military divisions at every district and outpost let loose on the enemy, firing off every bullet and ounce of ammunition they had at the unbeatable enemy. For those who wished for a happy Christmas, their dream was ruined by the Dalek invasion and Christmas was cancelled and over.
In every home and building that was destroyed and in every town square under siege, Christmas decorations were annihilated by the attacking Daleks, trees and wreaths went up in flames and all other holiday decorations were torn apart.
People in churches, praying for hope and for better futures were in shock that the apocalypse would even unfold on a sacred day as Christmas. From how they perceived things, the Daleks were the bringers of the apocalypse, what had everyone done to insight The Lord's fury.
But this wasn't The Creator's wrath, The Creator didn't create the Daleks, they were creatures from another world known as Skaro and they'd once been human until the events of a terrible war changed them into what they were today, ruthless and remorseless mutant monsters.
Despite the best efforts of military forces everywhere, all was lost. Within hours, cities fell, all resistance was squashed and those who tried to keep fighting were put down hard. The Daleks were victorious and, in mere minutes, Earth was conquered.
By dawn the next day, on Christmas Day, nothing much remained. The Daleks occupied thousands of cities across the globe, a new dawn for the Dalek Empire had risen. After all these years, Earth belonged to the Dalek race as the crown jewel of their empire.
In the ruins of Washington D.C, a humongous crowd of Daleks assembled in front of what remained of the White House, eyestalks raised as the Supreme Dalek came forward onto a makeshift podium to address the victorious Dalek forces.
"Today..." The Supreme Dalek declared, "...is Dalek Victory Day. December 25th, as recognized by the inferior humans, was Christmas. Now we rule this planet, all human holidays... ARE MEANINGLESS! We rule over the ashes, we are the masters of Earth."
"WE ARE THE MASTERS OF EARTH! WE ARE THE MASTERS OF EARTH! WE ARE THE MASTERS OF EARTH!" The Daleks chanted.
"VICTORY, VICTORY, VICTORY! VICTORY FOR THE DALEKS!"
"VICTORY FOR THE DALEKS, VICTORY FOR THE DALEKS!"
The Daleks chanted as Dalek victory commemorations began and so it came to pass, that Christmas 2021 was the day the world came to an end as the Daleks conquered the Earth, toppling the rule of humanity and became the supreme beings.
For those still alive, for those who'd been spared, this was just the beginning. One day, somehow or another, mankind would rise again and dethrone the Daleks. Until then, the enemy would have its victory...
The End!
