The two Emperor's Coven members were carrying Luz down a hallway while she struggled to escape their grip, and Emperor Belos was walking alongside them.

"What do you want with me", Luz asked, "revenge for destroying the portal?"

"Why, of course not", Belos said, "I'm not the kind of person who holds a grudge."

"I find that hard to believe", Luz said.

It took all the self-control Belos could gather to keep him from losing his patience with Luz.

"The Titan has plans that I've been working to set in motion for many years", Belos said, "and you have been selected to be a central part of them, Luz Noceda."

Luz was surprised that Belos knew her last name.

"H-how do you know that Noceda is my last name", Luz asked.

"I've had someone keep an eye on you and the other inhabitants of the Owl House ever since the jailbreak", Belos said, "much has been learned during this time."

Luz could hardly believe her ears.

"Here we are", Belos said.

Belos opened a door, and behind it was bedroom, much to Luz's confusion.

"This is a weird-looking prison cell", Luz said.

"It's not a cell, it's a guest room", Belos said, "keeping you in a cell when you have an important role to play in the Titan's plans would be very inappropriate indeed."

The two coven members tossed Luz into the room.

"Now, if you'll excuse me", Belos said, "I have some important matters to attend to."

Belos shut the door and spoke to the coven members.

"Make sure she doesn't try anything foolish", Belos said.

"Yes sir", one of the members said.

Inside the guest room, Luz ran up to her bed, jumped onto it, and began crying.

"How could Amity do this to me", Luz asked, "after everything we've been through?"

At the Owl House, Eda was sitting on the couch looking rather anxious.

"Where could Luz be", Eda asked, "it's been hours, and she hasn't come back."

"Uh-oh, looks like someone's parental instincts are kicking in", King said.

"They're not parental instincts", Eda said, "I'm just worried because Luz hasn't come home yet, and I'm afraid it's because something bad happened to her."

"Right", King said, "that's not parental at all."

Eda let out an annoyed growl at King's sarcasm, and Lilith walked in, having recently taken on a new look, with her hair being in a similar style to when she was young, and she now wore a pair of round-lensed glasses, also like when she was young.

"You worry too much, Edalyn", Lilith said, "I'm sure Luz is fine."

"Maybe", Eda said, "but maybe we should go out and look for her, just to be safe."

The conversation was interrupted when Hooty stretched over to them.

"Hoot hoot", Hooty said, "I've got a note for you."

"A note", Eda asked, "who's it from?"

"I think they said their name was Anonymous", Hooty said.

"An anonymous sender", Lilith asked.

"That's their name", Hooty said, "anyway, here you go."

Hooty coughed up a folded-up piece of paper and left.

"Who could be sending us an anonymous note at this time", King asked.

"Only one way to find out", Eda said.

Eda un-folded the piece of paper, read the note, and when she was done, she crushed the note in her hands and dropped it to the ground.

"What's wrong, Edalyn", Lilith asked, "what did the note say?"

Eda said nothing and walked upstairs, and while Lilith and King un-crumpled the note to read it, the former went into her room, madder than she had ever been her whole life.

"I'm going to murder her", Eda said.

The next day at Blight Manor, Odalia and Alador were waiting at the bottom of the stairs for something.

"Amity, are you done yet", Odalia asked.

"Coming, Mom", Amity said.

Amity walked down the stairs in her Emperor's Coven uniform, and Odalia and Alador looked at their daughter with proud looks on their faces.

"We're so proud of you, Amity", Alador said, "you've proven to us that you truly are a Blight."

"Thanks, Dad", Amity said.

"Not only that, but you got into the Emperor's Coven before Boscha did", Odalia said, "I can't wait to brag about this to Helga."

Odalia walked away followed by Alador, and Amity looked at herself in a mirror.

"I did it", Amity said, "I finally made my dream come true."

"But was it worth the price", a voice asked.

Amity turned around and saw Edric and Emira standing behind her, both looking very stern.

"I'll admit, it wasn't an easy decision, but I just know I made the right move", Amity said.

"How is handing the girl you love over to her worst enemy the right move", Emira asked.

"Because by doing so, I saved her from spending the rest of her life with a curse", Amity said, "she'll thank me one day."

"No she won't, Amity", Edric said, "deep down, you know you made the wrong decision."

"No I didn't", Amity said.

"Yes you did", Emira said, "and you knew it was wrong to begin with."

"You're both wrong", Amity said, "I handed Luz over for her own good, and now she's safe."

"Wake up, Amity", Emira said, "you didn't do this to protect Luz, you did it to join the coven."

"Okay, what's going on here", Amity asked, "we're having a conversation, and neither one of you has called me 'Mittens' once."

"Mittens is a playful nickname", Emira said, "we only give playful nicknames to our siblings."

"We see no sibling here", Edric said, "just a monster who values her dreams over the one she loves."

Amity was a little surprised to hear her siblings say something like that.

"Come along, Ed", Emira said, "I can't stand to be in the same room with this vile creature for much longer."

"Agreed", Edric said.

Edric and Emira walked away, leaving Amity all by herself.

"Oh, they're just jealous that I got into the Emperor's Coven and they didn't", Amity said, "might as well go for a walk since it's such a nice day out."

Amity went out the front door and began making her way towards Bonesborough, and as she walked by the woods, she found herself getting tackled and pinned to the ground by none other than a very angry Eda.

"Eda", Amity asked.

Eda was pretty scary in her cursed form, but that was nothing compared to the furious look she had on her face that was looking straight into Amity's eyes.

"You", Eda said, "you sold Luz out!"

"I can explain", Amity said, "I did it because..."

"I don't want to hear it", Eda said, "you gave away my apprentice, and now you're going to pay!"

Amity readied herself for whatever Eda had in store, but Lilith grabbed onto her sister and held her back.

"Don't do it, Edalyn", Lilith said, "she's not worth it!"

As Eda struggled to break free of her elder sister's grasp, Amity stood up and dusted herself off.

"Thank you, Lilith", Amity said.

But at that moment, Amity felt a great amount of pain as someone kicked her in the shin, and as she held on to her leg, she looked down and saw that it was King who had kicked her.

"That's for handing Luz over to the Emperor", King said, "be lucky I wasn't in my true form, or I'd be scraping you off the bottom of my foot."

Amity put her leg down, and Lilith released the now-calm Eda.

"How did you guys find out what I did", Amity asked.

"We got an anonymous note last night saying that you turned Luz in to Emperor Belos in exchange for a place in the Emperor's Coven", Lilith said.

"You Blights are all the same", Eda said, "doing whatever you see fit to get what you want."

"Okay, I can understand why you guys might be upset", Amity said, "but I did it for her own good."

"In what world is selling Luz to the biggest slime ball on the Boiling Isles for her own good", Eda asked.

"A world where she would've been cursed", Amity said.

Then, she explained to Eda, King, and Lilith how Emperor Belos threatened to curse Luz if Amity refused to bring her to him.

"So there, you see", Amity asked, "I know you're probably not happy about this, but at least she's safe."

"Luz is with the Emperor", Eda said, "I don't see how that's safe."

"Well at least she isn't cursed", Amity said.

Lilith walked over to Amity and put a hand over her shoulder.

"Amity", Lilith said, "I don't think Emperor Belos ever intended to curse Luz."

"What do you mean", Amity asked.

"He was most likely lying in order to convince you to bring Luz to him", Lilith said, "if she really is as important as he said she was, he wouldn't dare place a curse on her."

"I did what was necessary", Amity said, "I wasn't willing to risk something like that happening."

"No, Lilith's right, Emperor Belos is a liar", Eda said, "she learned that the hard way, didn't you, Lily?"

"Yes", Lilith said, "Emperor Belos promised me that he would heal my sister's curse if I brought her to him, but he betrayed me, and decided to petrify her instead."

"He played you like a used piano, kid", Eda said.

But Amity wasn't fazed by their words.

"Well, who cares what you hermits think anyway", Amity asked, "I made the right choice, and I'm happy with it!"

Eda, King, and Lilith were offended by what Amity had just said, and the latter was especially shocked to hear it.

"Fine", Eda said, "if you won't listen, we'll be on our way."

The trio turned around and walked away, but Lilith looked back at Amity before following Eda and King.

"They're only so tense because Luz lived with them", Amity said.

A little later, Amity was in the library looking for a book.

"Now that I'm in the Emperor's Coven, I'd better learn about some of the standards they have", Amity said.

Amity found the book she was looking for on a shelf, and as she went to go read it, she found Willow and Gus standing in front of her, both looking very angry.

"Let me guess", Amity said, "you know I handed Luz over to the Emperor?"

Willow nodded her head yes.

"Not cool", Gus said.

"Gus is right", Willow said, "how could you do this to Luz after everything she did for you?"

"Why is this so hard for everyone to understand", Amity asked, "I did it for her own good!"

"But you know Luz opposes the Emperor", Willow said, "he tried to petrify Eda, for Titan's sake!"

"Let's not forget how she destroyed that portal to keep it out of his hands", Gus said, "I don't think he's very happy about that."

"He said he needs her for something important, and he ripped the curse up when I brought her to him", Amity said, "I'm pretty sure she's safe now."

"This isn't about whether or not she's safe", Willow said, "this is about how heartless it was of you to do something like that to someone who's done so much for you."

"What do you mean", Amity asked.

"Ever since you became friends, Luz has helped you through some tough situations", Willow said, "like when she helped you restore my memories after you burned them, or when she tried to take your place as Grom Queen."

Amity started to feel a small tinge of guilt from Willow's words.

"Luz was always there for you", Willow said, "and you gave her away to one of the cruelest, most despicable individuals on the Boiling Isles just so you could join a coven."

Amity quickly brushed off the guilt and turned to Willow.

"I was doing what it took to make my dream come true", Amity said, "so why don't you just leave me alone already!"

Amity pushed Willow and Gus aside and stormed away.

"Well, so much for reasoning with her", Willow said.

"What do we do now", Gus asked.

"I don't know, Gus", Willow said, "I don't know."

That night in her bedroom at Blight Manor, Amity was thinking about what everyone had said to her that day about how she chose to to sell Luz out to Emperor Belos.

"They just don't get it", Amity said, "I saved Luz from getting cursed, and all everyone cares about it is how I handed her over to Emperor Belos."

Amity noticed a framed picture of her and Luz from Grom on her nightstand, and proceeded to place it face down.

"Why can't they just accept that I did it to protect Luz and move on", Amity asked.

"Because you know it was wrong", a voice said.

Amity was caught off-guard by the sound of the voice.

"Who said that", Amity asked.

Amity looked around, and was surprised to see herself as a child in a mirror.

"What are you", Amity asked.

"I am the sweet, little girl inside you", Child Amity said.

"Why are you here", Amity asked.

"To make you realize how much of a mistake you've made", Child Amity said.

Amity was just about fed up with what others had to say about her giving Luz away.

"After all these years of working hard to be at the top of everything, your life's dream has finally come true", Child Amity said, "but was it worth giving up your new life's dream?"

"What new life's dream", Amity asked.

"To be with Luz", Child Amity said, "that's what you want more than anything, not to be a part of some coven."

"Well, being with her wouldn't be easy if she had a curse placed on her", Amity said.

"You don't get it", Child Amity said, "you're not really happy with the choice you made, you've been lying to yourself."

"You don't know what you're talking about", Amity said.

"But I do", Child Amity said, "after your parents made you sever ties with Willow, you became a cold, uncaring person who looked down on witches you saw as weak and only cared about being the best, but when Luz came into your life, you slowly became a better person and showed a more friendly and caring side, and now, you've thrown all that away just because you wanted to join a coven."

Amity couldn't help but wonder about what her child self had just said.

"You've given away the first girl you've ever loved to the most evil being on the Boiling Isles", Child Amity said, "and despite what you've been saying, you're not happy about it, and you regret the choice you've made."

Amity took a deep breath and clenched her first.

"You're wrong", Amity said.

"What", Child Amity asked.

Amity turned around.

"Joining the Emperor's Coven is what I've been dreaming about my whole life, and I've had to make many sacrifices and take on numerous challenges to get where I am now", Amity said, "handing Luz over was the best decision I've ever made, because now, all my hard work has finally paid off."

And then, out of nowhere, Amity threw a book at the mirror, causing it to shatter, and once it had, she was panting heavily, but it wasn't long before images of her with Luz flashed in her head, and after thinking about what her child counterpart had said to her, she fell to her knees, tears beginning to form in her eyes.

"She was right", Amity said, "my greatest dream wasn't being a part of the Emperor's Coven, it was being with Luz."

It was at that moment that Amity began crying.

"I threw away my chances of true love by selling Luz to Emperor Belos just because I wanted to be a part of his coven", Amity said, "and if Lilith was right about Emperor Belos lying about the curse, then it was all for nothing."

Amity continued to cry as she walked over to her bed and laid down.

"Ed and Em were right about me", Amity said, "I am a monster."

Amity lifted up the picture of her and Luz that she had placed face-down earlier and looked at it with remorse in her eyes.

"Oh, Luz", Amity said, "you're in the captivity of the most sinister man on the Boiling Isles all because I made a selfish decision."

Amity set the picture back down and looked out her window.

"There's only one way to make things right", Amity said.
