Luz was in her room at the Emperor's Castle, sitting on the bed with her legs crossed, when Kikimora walked in with a tray of food.

"Your dinner, Miss Luz", Kikimora said.

Luz didn't respond and just kept sitting on her bed like a statue.

"You really must eat your meals", Kikimora said, "Emperor Belos insists it."

"I'd rather starve myself to death", Luz said, "at least he wouldn't be able to use me for whatever evil plan he's got brewing."

"This plan is anything but evil", a voice said, "besides, you should be honored."

Luz turned around and saw Emperor Belos at the doorway.

"Your role in the Titan's plan is a very important one", Belos said, "why, without you, it just couldn't be done."

"I don't care how important I am", Luz said, "can't the Titan just choose someone who's actually a witch?"

"That's just it, you see", Belos said, "the Titan doesn't want a witch, he wants a human."

Belos walked out of Luz's room, followed by Kikimora, who left the tray for Luz.

"Eat your food", Belos said, "and get some rest, too, because tomorrow, the work begins."

Belos shut the door behind him, and Luz laid down on her bed.

"I don't know what Emperor Belos has planned for me", Luz said, "but whatever it is, I just know it's not anything good."

Much later, Amity was sneaking through the halls of the castle, looking for Luz so she could help her escape.

"I have to break Luz out of here tonight", Amity said, "I got her into this mess, now I have to get her out of it."

Amity continued on her way, and something else came to her mind.

"And maybe", Amity said, "it's finally time to tell her how I really feel."

Amity stood still for a moment, thinking about the idea of confessing her love to Luz, but she quickly snapped back into focus.

"But first, I have to get her out of here", Amity said.

Amity walked up some stairs that led to the floor Luz's room was on.

"Knowing Emperor Belos, he's probably got some of his men guarding her room", Amity said, "I'll have to figure out a way to get past them."

But when Amity arrived at Luz's room, she found that the two Emperor's Coven members guarding it were lying on the floor asleep.

"Huh", Amity said, "this might be easier than I thought."

Amity grabbed the key to Luz's room from one of the sleeping guards' belt and unlocked the door, and walked over to Luz, who was sleeping soundly in her bed.

"Looks like I'm going to have to wake her up", Amity said.

Amity put her hand on Luz and shook her.

"Hey, Luz", Amity said, "wake up."

She shook her again, but Luz didn't wake up.

"Come on, we gotta get out of here", Amity said.

Then, Luz slowly began to open her eyes.

"W-what's going on", Luz asked.

Luz soon fully woke up, but when she saw Amity, an expression of rage appeared on her face.

"You", Luz said.

"Yes, it's me", Amity said, "listen, we have to..."

Amity was interrupted when Luz got out of bed and pushed her (Amity) against the wall.

"You betrayed me", Luz said.

"I know", Amity said, "but I..."

"After everything I did to try and be your friend, I thought we were finally friends", Luz said, "but no, you're just the selfish, uncaring, status-obsessed witch your parents raised you to be!"

"Listen, Luz", Amity said, "I'm here to save you!"

Luz was a little surprised to hear that.

"What", Luz asked.

Luz released Amity from against the wall, and the latter explained that she had realized her mistake of turning Luz in to Emperor Belos and decided to help her escape

"I'm so sorry for what I did to you, Luz", Amity said, "I should've just admitted that I wasn't happy with the decision I made, but I was too full denial to do it."

"Oh, Amity", Luz said, "what made you realize your mistake?"

Amity took a deep breath and plucked up courage.

"Luz Noceda", Amity said, "I..."

"Hey", a voice said, "what's going on here?"

Amity and Luz looked towards the doorway and saw that the two coven members who were on guard had woken up.

"It's Amity Blight", the first member said, "what's she doing with the human?"

"I think she's trying to help her escape", the second member said.

"N-no I'm not", Amity said, "I was just..."

"Spare us the lies, traitor", the first member said, "come on, we have to sound the alarm."

The two coven members ran off to let everyone know what was happening.

"We're doomed", Luz said, "now we'll both get in trouble."

"Not yet we won't", Amity said, "come on!"

Amity grabbed Luz's arm, and they hurried out of the room and down the hall, and after hiding from some Emperor's Coven members who were running through another hallway, they finally made it outside the castle.

"Okay", Luz said, "what's the plan now?"

"We need to get as far away from here as possible", Amity said, "Emperor Belos won't stop until he finds us, so we have to find somewhere safe to go."

One of the coven members was looking for Luz and Amity, when he looked out a window and noticed them outside.

"Hey, I see them", the coven member said, "they're out front!"

Luz and Amity saw the coven member alert more to their presence.

"Oh no", Luz said, "what do we do?"

It was then that Amity came to a decision.

"Change in plans", Amity said, "you go."

Luz was surprised to hear this.

"What", Luz asked.

"Get as far away from here as possible", Amity said, "I'll stay behind."

"What", Luz asked, "no, I can't leave you!"

"You have to", Amity said, "maybe if they get me, you'll at least be safe temporarily."

"But what about you", Luz asked.

"I'll be fine", Amity said, "now go!"

"No", Luz said, "I'm not going anywhere without you."

"You are if you want to be safe", Amity said.

"Why are you so intent on letting yourself get captured for me", Luz asked, "why?"

Amity decided that it was time to come clean with Luz.

"I don't want you to get hurt, Luz", Amity said, "because..."

Amity tried to find the right words to tell Luz that she loved her, but she couldn't seem to do it.

"Because what", Luz asked.

Amity tried and tried, but she still couldn't find the right way to say it, so at last, she decided there was only one way to express her feelings for Luz.

"Here goes nothing", Amity thought.

Amity grabbed Luz's head and kissed her on the lips, and when she released her, the latter was very surprised and confused about what had just happened.

"Amity", Luz said, "what was..."

"Hurry", a coven member said, "they're outside!"

Amity made a spell circle, and an abomination rose up and picked Luz up.

"Abomination, carry Luz as far away from here as you can", Amity said.

The abomination proceeded to run away with Luz, but she was looking over its shoulders at Amity.

"Amity", Luz shouted.

Amity watched as her abomination ran off with Luz, and some coven members burst out the front door and grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Thought you could get away with helping the human escape, did you", one of the members asked, "now you're going to have to answer to Emperor Belos."

The coven members dragged Amity away, and meanwhile, the abomination had carried Luz far from the castle, but all of a sudden, it disintegrated.

"What happened to the abomination", Luz asked.

It took a minute of thinking, but Luz quickly realized what had happened.

"Oh no", Luz said, "Amity!"

Luz ran to the edge of a cliff and looked into the distance at the Emperor's Castle.

"Something must've happened to her", Luz said.

After looking at the castle for another moment, Luz turned around and walked away.

"She let herself get captured", Luz said, "after she helped me escape."

Luz walked for miles, and by sunrise, she arrived at the Owl House, and when she opened the door and went inside, she was greeted by Eda, who was overjoyed to see her apprentice.

"Luz", Eda said, "you're okay!"

Eda wrapped her arms around Luz in a big hug.

"I was so worried about you", Luz said, "how did you escape from the Emperor?"

Then, Luz began to cry.

"Aww, there there", Eda said, "let it all out."

Lilith and King were in the room, and the latter noticed something very familiar about Luz crying.

"I've seen this before", King said.

"You have", Lilith asked.

"When Luz came back to the house after you captured Eda", King said, "something must've happened when she escaped."

"Are you sure", Lilith asked.

"Positive", King asked.

"What happened, Luz", Eda asked.

"It's Amity", Luz said, "she helped me escape, but she stayed behind for me and..."

Luz fell to her knees and continued to cry, and Eda, King, and Lilith surrounded her in comfort.
