Cinder: My name is Cinder Fall. I'm on a quest to obtain the ultimate power. It was Wolverine and Raven's turn to get infected with symbiotes. I helped rip them off, but only after Spidey lost control of his symbiote and nearly killed them. The experience horrified him, consuming him with guilt and leave the group. Normally I wouldn't care how others feel, but I can't help but feel sorry for him. Might as well check if he didn't commit suicide.

Issue 20: Get Outta Town

Manhattan, New York City

Shadow skates along a deserted street while Toxin swings above him. Shadow glances his surroundings, searching for any sign of Spider-Man. "He couldn't have gotten far…" He mutters before glancing at Toxin, "Have any idea where he is?"

"I'm using my symbiote to track his own. He's close." Toxin proclaimed. The dark duo run to the Chrysler Building, where they look up and can barely spot Spider-Man sitting alone on its eagle statue. "Up there." Toxin spotted him.

As the symbiotic maiden web-zip to the top of the building, Shadow teleports himself up there. Shadow made it to the top seconds before Toxin, and both stand behind the depressed Spider-Man. "Spider-Man…How are you feeling?" Shadow asks him with a sincere tone.

Spidey overlooks the massive city that has been devastated and infested with symbiotes and their goo, all because he brought the original symbiote to Earth that kickstarted this invasion and making him feel extremely guilty for its actions. "…Not good." He answers somberly, "What has become of my city? What has become of its heroes? And its villains…? How do I turn back the darkness…?" He then looks down in shame and guilt, "Without losing myself to it…?" He asked, which got his friends thinking to themselves, "If I go against everything I stand for…will it be enough…? Or am I already too late…?"

Silently, Shadow sits next to Peter on the statue with a somber expression on his face, "Peter. I told you earlier that I know EXACTLY what you're going through right now. This symbiote invasion…has reminded me too much of the time the Black Arms invaded my world. A time where I suffered a moral dilemma and my existence put everything and everyone I care about in great peril."

"Really?" Spidey questioned, sounding slightly interested in the hedgehog's tale.

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-Recollection of the Ark

Shadow nods while looking out in the distance, "It all started over 50 years ago, aboard the Space Colony ARK, when my creator, Professor Gerald Robotnik, made contact with a comet and its devil. His name was Black Doom, the leader of the Black Arms. He contributed his blood to help the Professor create me, the Ultimate Lifeform."

"You're…part alien?" Spidey remarks in shock, while Cinder stands in silent amazement of his reveal.

Shadow says while reminiscing his tragic past, "Yes. However, my creators envisioned two contrasting purposes for my creation: The Professor wanted me to one day protect the world, whereas Black Doom was intent on having me as his chief agent in conquering the world. Regardless, I swore to Gerald's granddaughter, Maria, my best friend, to protect the planet she loved. But when the Black Arms invaded 50 years later, I was suffering amnesia. Forgotten my past. Black Doom took advantage of it, and manipulated me in his conquest for world domination. He nearly succeeded, until I regained my memories and my purpose to defeat Black Doom and fulfill my promise to both the Professor and Maria. It was then and there I decided to put the past behind me and forge my own future." He stands up firmly, "I am the union of ideals dark and benign but ultimately built in the name of love. I am the Ultimate Lifeform, and the protector of Mobius. THAT is who I am."

"What about me? Who am I?" Spidey asked the hedgehog.

"That is for YOU to figure out." Shadow answered, "The truth will reveal itself soon. I know it."

Spidey pauses for a moment, thinking to himself before standing on his feet, "Thanks Shadow…I mean that. I feel a lot better now."

"You're welcome. So where to?" Shadow asked.

"Might as well return to Harlem. Check on MJ and Cage and see if they need help with evacuation." Spidey replied.

"Good idea." Shadow commented.

Both Spidey and Shadow jump off the building and head for Harlem. Cinder stands alone with a sadden look on her face, looking down to think to herself for a moment before swinging off the building and catching up with her allies.

Harlem

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-Brief Relief

The civilians of Harlem have gathered inside various vehicles and are ready to be escorted to SHIELD headquarters through the symbiote-infested city. Mary Jane and Power Man had just finished rounding up the remaining civilians to their cars when Spidey's group arrive at the park.

Luke smiles at his friends, "Spidey! Man, am I glad to see you guys."

"Thank god you're okay." MJ shares a hug with her ex-boyfriend, "Where's Yang?"

Peter frowns underneath his mask, feeling guilty for hurting Yang during his blind rage, "She got hurt. But, Wolverine and Raven are taking care of her now." He said while letting go of the hug.

"What's the status?" Shadow asked Cage.

"We're spread thin. Now I got to take the lead convoy. MJ can ride with me. Spidey, can you, Shadow, and Cinder protect the area until we are all underway, and then guard the last convoy?" Luke requested.

Spidey approaches MJ with a concerned look, "Are you sure?"

"I'll be fine." MJ assured him sincerely. "Let's get EVERYONE out of here."

"Good luck, brother." Cage said, leaving his fellow Avenger with a goodbye.

"You too." Peter replied.

"See you on the other side." MJ told him. Then, she puts her hands on Peter's shoulders and says, "Promise me. No. More. Dark Suit."

Spidey nods, "I promise."

As MJ lets go of her ex-boyfriend, she looks at Shadow, "And Shadow. Can you promise me to look after him?"

Shadow nods, "Rest assured, Mary Jane. I won't anything happen to this kid!" He promised Mary Jane, before watching her leave to Luke's car and lead the first convoy, much to Spidey's worry.

Meanwhile at Oscorp Tower…

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-I Know Professor

Salem stands composed atop of a symbiotic balcony overlooking the island she has conquered with her symbiotes. While she overlooks the city, two of her elite Super Symbiotes approach her from behind. They happen to be a symbiotic version of Black Cat with no eyes and wild white hair, and a symbiotic version of Emerald Sustrai with marks below her eyes and a long and wavy ponytail that seemingly forms an "S".

"You have called us, my queen?" Symbiote Emerald asked, while she and Felicia formally bow to their queen.

Salem says, "Spider-Man is nearly broken. It won't be long until his symbiote has total control. Use your illusions to torture him and Shadow and steal their Chaos Emeralds, like the good thief you are. Meanwhile, Black Cat, you will target Mary Jane Watson. Eliminate her, and Spider-Man will be your lover once more."

"As you command. I never liked her." Symbiote Black Cat remarks, as the thieves stand on their feet.

"Do not fail me!" Salem warned them, while the symbiote thieves jumps off the tower with growls.

Later at Harlem…

BGM-Dragon Ball FighterZ OST-Spirit

"Toxin, do you sense anymore symbiotes?" asked Shadow, having been guarding the park and the last convoy alongside Toxin and Spider-Man before they leave for SHIELD HQ.

Toxin triggers her Symbiote-Sense, "No. We're in the clear."

"Alright. I'll inform Agent Quartermain we can begin escorting the last convoy. You and Spider-Man get into your positions." said Shadow, walking towards the SHIELD APC truck in front of the convoy.

The web-warriors walk towards the convoy side-by-side, but as they near it, Toxin slowly stops in her tracks and stares at Spider-Man walking ahead of her. "Spider-Man." She calls him out.

Spidey stops and turns around facing her, "What's wrong?"

"I want to…apologize." Toxin said, being slightly nervous and humble.

"You, apologizing? About what?" Spidey questioned.

"This whole alien invasion. I've come to realize that my selfishness has doomed our dimensions." Toxin admitted.

"It's alright. If there is anyone who should feel guilty about this invasion, it's me." Spidey replied while approaching her.

"You only brought the Venom Symbiote to this world, but I was the one who brought it to Salem. I thought…I KNEW, she had the power to help Eddie control it." Cinder lowers her head in shame as she reminisces her past, "But she didn't. And now both of them have lost control. You were right about me earlier. Salem promised me incredible power so I may take revenge on the world that made my life miserable. I have nothing. Only people that abused me. Showed me no respect. Only taught me fear. It wasn't until I met Eddie is when I developed a…bond. He showed me a kindness that no one has before. Treated me as an equal. A…friend. I felt happy around him. And how did I repay him?" She stares at Peter, "By turning him into a monster. I promised Eddie if he ever lost control and harm the innocent, I'd kill him. But I…"

"You can't…because you love him." Spidey deduced.

Cinder shyly looks away from him while staring at the ground with a somber look, "…Yeah."

"Eddie and I may have our differences, but I still care for him. I don't want anything bad happen to him. He's my best friend. My brother. And I know he's suffering just as much as you are right now. We'll SAVE Eddie. That's a promise I'm making to you." Spidey assures her with a sincere tone.

Cinder glances at Peter with a sincere expression, "Thanks. Now, let's get these people to a safe place. Eddie would want that." Her feet burst with flames as she flies to the convoy, hovering above it.

"Yeah." Spidey replied, leaping atop of the SHIELD APC.

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-Gun Fortress

Shadow stands atop a school bus as the convoy starts moving out of the park. "Toxin, you're our eyes in the sky. Keep a lookout for any flying symbiotes approaching the convoy and dispose them. Spider-Man and I will cover the ground as we make our way to the 1st security dome." Shadow informs his team of their mission.

"Understood." Toxin acknowledged.

Spidey looks on ahead and spots several Symbiote Pods blocking their path, "Spotting pods dead ahead!"

The convoy stops as SHIELD Agent Quartermain says, "Stop right here. Destroy them and clear a path before we can continue."

"Roger!" said Shadow, leaping towards the pods alongside Spidey. The pods spawn several symbiotes before Shadow shouts, "Chaos Spear!" and hurls energy bolts that obliterate the pods. Spidey dodges a claw strike from a Berserker and unsheathes his aura stingers, slashing the Berserker to its death before decimating the other symbiotes.

In the sky, Toxin senses several Vulturelings and Symbiote Griffons flying towards her. She swiftly dodges a tackle from a Vultureling then webstrikes it, sending it flying onto another Vultureling and knocking them both out of the sky. She webthrows a Vultureling through a building before swiftly punching out more of their kind. A Griffon caws and flies towards Toxin's back, intending to bite her. Instead, it's beak was smack by a mace swing from Toxin. She then impales it alongside several more Griffons with a sharp tendril, before igniting it and burning the symbiotes to their deaths.

"Sky's clear. We ready to keep moving?" Toxin contacted her teammates via earpiece.

From the ground, Shadow touches his earpiece and replies, "Yes. The pods have been exterminated. Start moving the convoy, Quartermain." He then informs the agent.

"Good job, team. Approaching first SHIELD Security Dome." Quartermain replied, as the convoy move towards the first security dome.

BGM-Spider-Man: Web of Shadows OST-Symbiote City 1

The convoy enters the energy dome, where they can take a quick breather. "We've arrived in the first dome. Let's keep pushing towards the second." Quartermain said, leading the convoy out of the dome and towards the second one.

While sitting atop of the APC, Spider-Man hears a mysterious voice speaking to him telepathically, 'Spider-Man…'

"Huh? Did someone call me? Who's there?" Spidey glances his surroundings for the source of the voice.

'I'm right here…Look forward…That's a good boy…' The mysterious voice said, sounding female and strangely familiar.

Peter's vision gets blurry for a mysterious reason as he looks ahead, "What's going on? Normally I like playing games, but Sudoku this ain't." He quipped.

He stares ahead and sees a blurry image of Mary Jane slowly being devoured by a light, "Peter! Help me!"

Peter's eyes widen in horror, "MJ! NO!" He swings off the APC, which visibly confuses Shadow.

'Spider-Maaaaan…' The mysterious voice creepily sang out his name.

Spidey swings as fast as he could towards the light that is consuming MJ. Yet, strangely to him, the streets look like they are stretching endlessly as the light glows brighter. "They're hurting me." MJ claimed.

'Just a bit farther…' The mysterious voice proclaimed.

Spider-Man leaps into the light as it completely consumes his body. Suddenly, his vision returns to normal as he finds himself entangled by a Symbiote Pod that is about to consume him. Shadow warps behind the pod and destroys it with a Chaos Spear, saving Spidey as he falls on his stomach.

"Idiot. What were you thinking going off on your own and jumping straight into a pod?" Shadow scolds the young webslinger.

"What? I thought…I saw MJ. She was in trouble, and…I wasn't able to save her." Spidey remarks in confusion.

"You're being delusional. Mary Jane is still safe with Cage across the city." Shadow states, confusing Spider-Man even more. "Now focus! We have more symbiote blocking the convoy." He said, looking at a symbiote horde blocking the convoy's path.

Shadow leaves Spidey to help defend the convoy from the symbiotes. Spidey glances his surroundings, trying to check if everything is real or is a hallucination. "If this is some kind of twisted joke, I'm not laughing." Spidey muttered.

Just then, an illusion of Salem appears behind him with a taunting chuckle, "At last you realize, Spider-Man. You know that you can't always SAVE everyone. Sooner or later, those you love will pay the price for your 'misguided' heroics, or they'll mourn your loss."

Annoyed, Spidey turns around to confront the illusion, "Don't try to get in my head, lady. What do you know about loss?"

"I'm only trying to help you." Fake Salem claimed.

BGM-Spider-Man 3 (Game) OST-Morbius Tension (Part 3)

The fake sorcereress points him to illusions of Mary Jane, Harry Osborn, Gwen Stacy, and J Jonah Jameson walking towards him, much to his surprise. "I wanted to be your girlfriend, Peter. Instead I'm just a target." Fake MJ said, swinging a punch that was easily avoided, "I know one night…you just won't make it back home."

"I'm not falling for your tricks." Spidey retorted.

"But you allowed me to fall to my death. Get my neck snapped." said Fake Gwen, approaching the stunned webslinger, "Why, Peter? I thought you loved me. Why couldn't you save me from Goblin?" She furiously swings her fist across his face, then proceeds to kick him across the street.

"Live for yourself. Anything else is futile." Fake Salem taunted him.

"This isn't real…It can't be…" Spidey mutters while struggling to stand to his feet.

"It's real, pal." said Fake Harry, punching the hero multiple times, "As real as how you ruined my life, all the way to my death." He uppercuts the wallcrawler.

"You're a bum. A menace! I was always right about you, but I never DREAMED you'd go this far. An interdimensional alien invasion? This is all your fault! You're fired!" Fake Jameson blamed, attacking Peter until he is knocked down.

"You have so much strength. Why not use it freely?" Fake Salem taunted, trying to goad him into using the Black Suit again.

"I…I can't. I made a promise…" Spidey mutters weakly, while being approached by the illusions.

Suddenly, Shadow appears and strikes the illusions at lightning speed, knocking them down. Spidey blinks a few times, starting to realize that the illusions were really symbiotes that nearly killed him. "Huh? They were symbiotes the whole time?" Spidey questioned.

"What is wrong with you, Spider-Man? Why aren't you fighting back?" Shadow asked, unaffected by the illusions.

Spidey stares at his palms in panting distress, "I don't know…Someone is talking inside my head. Making me see people from my past…making fun of me."

"Is your symbiote causing you to hallucinate?" Shadow questioned.

"I don't think so…Maybe?" Spidey responded, greatly confused.

"Whatever the case, we need to stick together and keep moving. If you keep seeing illusions, either fight back or stay out of my way and I'll fight them." Shadow runs ahead of the webslinger, who shakes his head to calm himself before catching up.

The convoy is nearing the second dome but gets blocked by another hive, which is spawning Electrolings to attack them. "Spotted some of those pods ahead. Gotta take them out before we can move forward." Agent Quartermain informs the heroes.

As soon as Spider-Man approaches the pods, he begins hallucinating again. He confronts the Electrolings, who appear as illusions of Team RWBY. "Not again. Shadow, I'm hallucinating!" He says while avoiding their attacks.

"Do you want me to fight them?" Shadow asks while kicking down an Electroling.

"No. I…I can handle this." Spidey said unconfidently.

'Why do you torture yourself just to please others?' The mysterious voice taunts him.

"I hope this hurts you HALF as much as you've hurt us, Peter!" Fake Ruby nearly slices him with her scythe, but Peter counters with a web blast that pins her to a wall.

"You think you're a hero, Peter, but to me, you're the man who brought destruction and misery to my home." said Fake Weiss, trying to stab him with her rapier only to miss and get kicked away.

"If you can't even trust your friends, then who are you fighting for?" Fake Blake asked, before perishing with one punch.

As Peter throws a punch at Fake Yang, she says, "You almost killed me and my mother. Were you prepared to live with that?" Peter stops his attack in front of her face and hesitates, leaving him wide open to get slammed to the ground.

"Get ahold of yourself!" shouts Shadow, kicking Fake Yang to oblivion, "Whatever you're seeing, they're not real!"

Suddenly, Shadow gets smashed to a building by a combined attack from Fakes Rouge and Omega. His eyes widen in shock, "What? Rouge? Omega?"

"Yes. The team you FAILED to save." Fake Rouge mocks him with a disappointing glare.

"But we will not fail in destroying you." Fake Omega boasted.

The illusions attack Shadow, who warps away and hit their backs with Chaos Spears, "Now I'm hallucinating. But these tricks won't stop me!"

"Arrogant as always. As expected from my bloodline." said Black Doom, rising from the ground to confront the surprised hedgehog.

Shadow gasps, "Black Doom?!"

"What is the matter, Shadow? You act like you've seen a ghost!" Fake Black Doom taunted him, spooking him.

"NO!" Shadow punches the illusion through the face, causing it to burst into smoke, "Black Doom is dead! The Black Arms are gone! How are these symbiotes messing with our minds?!"

"Shadow, my son…"

Shadow turns around and is completely shock by the illusions of Professor Gerald Robotnik and Maria, "Professor?! And…M-Maria?"

"Shadow. Give me the Chaos Emeralds, and we can devise a plan to destroy the symbiotes, just like we did the Black Arms. Have faith in me, Shadow, as I do in you." Fake Gerald tries reasoning with the confused hedgehog.

Fake Maria cups her hands with a sadden stare at her best friend, "Please, Shadow. Listen to grandfather. You promised me you'll give the people a chance to be happy. Don't let them die as you did me."

From the air, Toxin looks down at Shadow collapsing to his knees in confused guilt before two symbiotes, which she finds very odd. "Hey! What's going on down there?" She asks through their comms.

"It's the symbiotes…Something is causing us to hallucinate. Making us see things that aren't real." Shadow replied, sweating profusely while trying extremely hard to distinguish what is real and what is an illusion.

"Hallucinate?" Toxin pauses, thinking to herself for a moment, "Wait…I think I know who is behind this." She flies to the ground and slams a thunderous punch, making fires of hell erupt around her and destroy the pods, the symbiotes, and the illusions that were giving Spidey and Shadow a hard time. "Emerald! Show yourself! I can sense you're near! Stop hiding behind your hallucinations and face me!" She calls out her former teammate.

BGM-Spider-Man 3 (Game) OST-Lizard Tension (Part 1)

Having been called out, Symbiote Emerald leaps out of the shadows and lands in front of Cinder, confronting her with hissing snarls, "Finally! It's about time we get to see each other again, Cinder! You have no idea how much I've missed you!"

"You…You were that voice who was talking inside my head." remarks Spidey, realizing that the mysterious voice was really Emerald using her Semblance to mess with his head.

Symbiote Emerald smiles mockingly at the webslinger, "Finally figured it out. Been ordered by my queen to torture you and Shadow and give into despair. Would've done the same to Cinder, but my power doesn't seem to affect her."

Toxin scoffs while forming arm-swords, "You never had the strength of body OR mind to overcome me!" She dashes at her corrupted teammate, who unveils her revolver sickles. They strike at each other with a flurry of vicious swings. Emerald backflips from one sword swing and leaps over a rooftop, with Cinder quickly giving chase to continue their brawl.

Shadow scowls, raising his trembling clenching fist at the symbiotic thief, "Scum! Get back here!"

As the convoy enters the second security dome, the heroes receive a sudden call from Black Widow via their earpieces, 'Black Widow to escort units! Third safe zone is under attack and requires repair! Repeat, third safe zone is UNDER attack! Spider-Man, your group leave the convoy and move up to the third safe zone! Defend the area until it can be repaired, then return to your assignment!'

"Emerald was headed in that direction. We need to help Cinder and stop her. But how are we gonna beat her illusions?" Spidey asks Shadow, as they head towards the third dome.

"Her illusions come from her Semblance. Depleting her Aura will stop the illusions. And I might have a trick that'll help me do just that." Shadow replied confidently.

At the inactive third safe zone, SHIELD agents are doing their best fending off a symbiote horde while their technicians repair the device that powers the energy dome. At the same time, Toxin and Emerald continue to clash. The symbiote thief was knocked back and rapidly shoot at Toxin, who easily evades her bullets and smack her to a wall, "I recruited you to my cause simply because I found your Semblance useful. Without it, you can't beat me."

Emerald smirks, "I'm more than just my Semblance. I'm a master thief that's about to steal your LIFE!" She says while using the symbiote's ability to camouflage. Toxin frantically glances for any sign of Emerald, unaware that the invisible thief is sneaking towards her. Using stealth to her advantage, Emerald surprises Cinder with a deadly slash that shreds through her symbiote and causes her back to bleed profusely. "I thought you were my second chance. Family…" She unveils herself while sweepkicking Toxin from behind, "But I realized you never cared for me. Left me to be killed by Venom. So I will not hesitate to KILL YOU!" She says while delivering a painful roundhouse kick that sends Toxin flying and skipping on the ground.

All of a sudden, Emerald was struck in the back by Shadow and smashed into the ground. Spider-Man also appeared and assist the agents fight against the symbiotes. Emerald growls at the hedgehog as she stands, "Filthy little sewer rat! Still hungry for torture?"

Shadow glares at her, "Do your worst. Your parlor tricks won't work on me anymore."

"We'll see about that." Emerald activates her Semblance, disguising herself as an illusion of Maria and other symbiotes of people he knows like Team Dark, the GUN Commander, and Black Doom.

Shadow scoffs with a smile on his face before shouting, "Chaos Boost!" He envelops himself with a red aura and radiates such intense energy that he breaks through the hallucination, much to Emerald's surprise.

"What…power?" Emerald remarks in horrified shock that he managed to overcome her Semblance.

Shadow instantly warps between symbiotes that are in his way towards Emerald, landing several fierce hits on them at hyper speed before reaching the thief. "That's right!" He quips while kicking the thief in the chest, "I'm radiating so much power that I've FORCED you out of my head! And you're going to pay dearly for that." He threatened with a menacing scow, beating on Emerald with a barrage of vicious blows from every angle, giving her no chance to counterattack.

"Dome is almost back online!" said a SHIELD agent.

Hearing this, Emerald turns invisible to avoid another of Shadow's vengeful blows and escape, moments before the dome is activated and kills off the remaining symbiotes. "She's escaping. I can sense her…" Toxin proclaims after recovering, "She must be headed for the next dome."

"Spider-Man, escort the convoy to this safe zone! We'll finish off Emerald!" Shadow ordered, as he and Toxin pursue Emerald.

Spider-Man complies and swings back to the convoy, landing atop of the APC, "We're moving out, Quartermain!"

"Roger that!" Quartermain responded, leading the group out of the second dome and towards the third one.

Symbiote Zombies were in the way of the convoy, but they were easily struck down by Spider-Man and his Web Strikes. While in midair, Spidey was hit by an illusion of Sonic and crash to the streets, where he is confronted by illusions of the Freedom Fighters and Knuckles. "Too slow to dodge that. Too slow to save our worlds." The Fake Sonic mocks him.

Spidey grunts, 'These illusions…They keep messing with my head.' He thinks to himself while deflecting blows from the fake mobians, 'Shadow overcome them through his incredible power, but how was Cinder unaffected? Could it be because of her symbiote? Her Symbiote-Sense?' He wonders while kicking Fake Bunnie, 'I have that too…in the Black Suit.' He then gets painfully smashed by Fake Knuckles, 'I know I promised MJ to ditch the Black Suit, but these fakes are getting on my nerves…Just one more time.'

Feeling tempted and without no choice, Spider-Man switches to his Black Suit. And thanks to his symbiote, he can see through Emerald's illusions, revealing the Fake Freedom Fighters as just ordinary symbiotes. "Much better! You fakers can't hide from me anymore." Symbiote Spidey said, coldly glaring at the symbiotes.

At blinding speeds, Symbiote Spidey dashes at a Berserker and pummels it with a flurry of devastatingly brutal punches before headbutting it to its death. "Anyone who messes with MY head won't walk away with THEIRS!" He threatened with a tone that would send chills down anyone's spine. He protrudes tendrils and spins around, decapitating the heads of symbiotes surrounding him.

The people in the convoy were utterly shocked and horrified to see Spidey just change in personality and decapitate the aliens. Some of the teenagers in the school bus are so amazed by his extreme actions that they record it with their phones and post it on social media. After delivering a combo of tendril strikes, Spidey finish off the remaining symbiotes with tendrils exploding out of his chest to consume and destroying everything in its path.

"There we go." Spidey said darkly after killing the remaining symbiotes. He approaches the APC, "Path's clear, Quartermain. Head for the third safe zone. Gotta check if the fourth dome is secure."

"S-Sure. You can count on me." Agent Quartermain replied, slightly nervous after witnessing Symbiote Spidey's wrath on the symbiotes.

The black-suited warrior swings to the fourth dome, which has also lost power thanks to the symbiotes. He spots Shadow and Toxin overwhelming Symbiote Emerald down below and drops down between them, "Mind if I drop in?" He fires deadly hardened web bullets that smack onto Emerald's face, knocking her down.

"We were doing just FINE without you!" Cinder retorted in annoyance.

"And why are you in the Black Suit again? You PROMISED Mary Jane you'd stop using it!" Shadow scolds the webslinger.

"I can control it! It was the only way to break free from her hallucinations!" Spidey retorted.

"We already depleted her Aura before you got here. You're disappointing me, Spider-Man." Shadow scowled.

"Whatever. I didn't come here to be judged. Only to knock her out." Spidey glares at the symbiote thief.

Symbiote Emerald roars furiously as she knows she can't beat those three powerhouses by herself, "NOOOO! How did I get cornered?! I should leave-."

"NO!" Symbiote Spidey cuts her off, suddenly kneeing her right in the chest before she turned invisible, "You're not running away this time, little girl. You and I have some unfinished business." He said coldly, brutally disarming her weapons. He webs her, pulling her over his head and smashing her into buildings then into the ground thrice before throwing the thief behind him. He quickly grabs her head and slams it to the ground, instantly knocking her unconscious and in a state of near-death. "No one messes with my head and gets away scot free…" He morphs his right hand into a sword, intending to impale Emerald to death.

Before Spidey could kill Emerald with his sword, Toxin grabs it and stops him, "That's enough!" She shouted, earning a glare from the webslinger, "Haven't you realized Salem has been manipulating you this whole time? She's been using people like Emerald to get you riled up! Pushing you to the limits of your anger! THAT is how the Black Suit is corrupting you, so calm DOWN!" She pushes him away from the unconscious thief.

Spidey notice the SHIELD dome has been repaired and powering up, killing the other symbiotes in the process. He and Cinder switch to their original attire, as Cinder touches Emerald's symbiote and uses her Semblance to superheat it to death, freeing Emerald from its corruption.

"I really hate that witch." Spidey crosses his arms while turning his back to his friends.

"And that is how she is winning. Salem KNOWS you're a threat to her. That is why she is doing everything in her power to turn you to the wrong side, just like Black Doom almost did to me. Do not allow your past to consume you." Shadow advises the young webslinger, while dropping out of his Chaos Boost mode.

Weakly, the restored Emerald groans herself awake and stares at Cinder, "C-Cinder…Is that you…?"

Somberly, Cinder replies, "It's me."

Emerald smiles weakly, "Thank goodness you're okay…Everything is a blur…I'm…sorry if I…hurt you…Didn't mean…" She apologizes before losing consciousness again.

The symbiote maiden grabs the body of her unconscious teammate, lifting her up and mutters to her, "I'm sorry too…" She then looks at Spidey and Shadow, "Fisk Towers is up ahead. I'll get her medical attention."

"Understood. We'll catch up with the rest of the convoy." Shadow replied somberly, understanding that Cinder has come to care of her teammate's wellbeing.

As Cinder walks past Spider-Man, he stops her by saying, "Cinder. I'm sorry. Didn't mean to nearly kill her." He apologized.

"I know…This one's on me." She replied somberly, feeling guilty for Emerald's condition. As she walks out of the dome, Cinder swiftly puts on the Toxin Symbiote and swings towards Fisk Towers, while being watched by Spidey and Shadow before they leave to help the convoy.

KFX Here: Shadow's past is revealed and Cinder is starting to care about her teammates. Character development. You must love it. Fun fact: This chapter was based off the boss fight with Shriek from the PS2 version of Spider-Man 3, which I thought was a decent game.
