Emperor Belos was in his throne room absorbing the magic of a crawfish palisman, when two Emperor's Coven members dragged Amity into the room by her arms.

"My lord", one of the members said, "the human escaped, but we managed to catch the one who helped her escape."

Belos stood up from his throne and walked over to Amity.

"Amity, Amity, Amity", Belos said, "I am terribly disappointed in you."

Amity just let out a resentful growl.

"Luz was going to be given an honor unlike any honor ever bestowed upon a human being", Belos said, "but then, you helped her to escape and ruined everything."

"I saved her from you", Amity said, "you lied to Lilith about curing Eda's curse, and then you tried to petrify her just because she refused to join a coven."

"Luz wouldn't have gotten hurt", Belos said, "my intentions for her were anything but sinister."

"You really expect me to believe the words of a tyrant like you", Amity asked.

Belos had finally had enough of Amity.

"Take her away and lock her up", Belos said, "I shall deal with her later."

The two coven members dragged Amity away.

"You can't win, Belos", Amity shouted, "whatever you plan on doing to me isn't going to bring Luz back here."

"Oh, I have a feeling it just might", Belos said.

At the Owl House, Eda was in the kitchen fixing some lunch.

"Hey, Luz", Eda said, "why don't you come on down and have something for lunch?"

There was no response, and Luz didn't come downstairs.

"Did you hear me, Luz", Eda asked.

Nothing happened, and Lilith and King walked into the kitchen.

"She's been in her room all day", King said, "and she's really upset."

"I think it's about Amity", Lilith said, "it must be a very crushing blow to learn that someone loves you only for something terrible to happen to them."

"Oh, yeah", Eda said, "she can't be feeling good about that."

Then, the front door opened.

"We have visitors", Hooty said.

Willow and Gus walked into the house.

"Hey", Eda said, "what are you two doing here?"

"We heard the good news", Gus said.

"Did Luz really manage to escape from the Emperor", Willow asked.

"Well, yes", Eda said, "but it didn't all turn out well."

"What do you mean", Willow asked.

Eda told Willow and Gus about Amity helping Luz escape and staying behind and allowing herself to get captured.

"Oh no", Willow said, "poor Amity."

"I know", Eda said, "and right before she summoned an abomination to carry Luz away, she revealed her feelings for her by kissing her on the lips."

Willow and Gus were shocked to hear this.

"Did she really kiss her", Gus asked.

"She sure did", Eda said, "to be honest, I wasn't sure whether or not something like that would ever happen."

"Is Luz here", Willow asked.

"She's upstairs in her room", Eda said, "she hasn't been taking this well."

"Well, why don't we try to talk to her", Willow said, "maybe we can cheer her up."

"Yeah", Gus said, "talking with friends always makes you feel better."

"Be my guest", Eda said, "but me, Lilith, and King didn't have much luck when we tried."

"Leave it to us", Willow said, "everything will be a-okay."

Willow and Gus walked upstairs to Luz's room and knocked on her door.

"Who is it", Luz asked.

"It's me and Gus", Willow said, "can we come in?"

"Sure", Luz said.

Willow opened the door, and she and Gus found Luz, whose eyes were red, lying on her sleeping bag and used tissues were all over the place, which, along with Luz's red eyes, indicated that she had been crying.

"Hey, Luz", Willow said, "we're glad you're okay."

"Yeah", Gus said, "after Amity handed you over to the Emperor, we were worried sick about what would become of you."

The mention of Amity's name caused Luz to burst into tears.

"Uh oh", Willow said.

"Was it something I said", Gus asked.

"Of course it was, Gus", Willow said, "Luz is upset because of what happened to Amity."

"And mentioning Amity must make her feel sad", Gus said, "I think I get it now."

Willow rolled her eyes and handed a tissue box to Luz.

"Here you go, Luz", Willow said.

Luz pulled a tissue out of the box and blew her nose.

"Thanks, Willow", Luz said.

"Sorry about what I said", Gus said, "I didn't mean to make you upset like that."

"It's okay", Luz said, "this whole thing is just really painful for me."

"I understand", Willow said, "it must be hard learning that someone loves you and then seeing something terrible happening to them just after they've confessed to you."

"It's not just that", Luz said, "I'm upset because Amity's probably been in love with me this whole time, and I never once noticed it."

"Well, you are kind of oblivious", Gus said.

Willow elbowed Gus.

"No offense", Gus said.

"I'm not oblivious", Luz said, "I just never thought that someone like her could actually like me."

Willow and Gus were shocked to hear Luz say something like that.

"Back in the human world, I was an outcast at school, and people were always saying things about me behind my back", Luz said, "I didn't have much luck with making friends, but all those things my classmates said about me made me feel like I might not find someone who loves me, either."

"Oh, Luz", Willow said.

"As I spent time with Amity, I developed some feelings for her, but I didn't think someone as awesome as her could actually love me", Luz said.

"Luz, that's ridiculous", Willow said, "how could anyone not love you?"

"What do you mean", Luz asked.

"You're an amazing person, Luz", Willow said, "you're smart, clever, and downright friendly."

"You really think so", Luz asked.

"I know so", Willow said.

"That's right", Gus said, "I don't think I've ever met someone quite like you."

"Me neither", Willow said, "you're very kind and caring, and you never give up on your friends."

"Yeah, I guess that's true", Luz said.

Willow's words made a thought cross Luz's mind.

"And I'm not about to stop here", Luz said.

Luz got out of her sleeping bag, put something around her neck, and walked out of her room.

"Hey, where are you going", Willow asked.

Eda, King, and Lilith were downstairs in the living room, when Luz walked by wearing her witch's wool cape, with Willow and Gus following behind, and she opened the front door.

"Where are you going, kiddo", Eda asked.

Luz turned her head to all her friends in the Owl House.

"I'm gonna save Amity", Luz said.
