There, we headed to a castle where Salem awaited, having used the Cosmic Emeralds to transform and capture Ozpin, as well as defeat the God of Darkness. But she won't be as lucky against our Super Forms. There's no place to run for you, Salem! Looks like the time for us to settle this has come!

Issue 26: Symbiote Dimensions (Part 3)-Light vs. Dark

City of Atlas, Planet Remnant

From a rooftop, Penny Polendina stares at Symbiote World and watches an epic battle unfold. Energy of darkness clashing against two energies of light, moving at light speeds across the entire alien planet. Their battle is so intense that it not just shaking Symbiote World, but the neighboring planets as well, as felt by Penny and everyone in the Kingdom of Atlas.

'The kingdom is shaking!' said General Ironwood, speaking to the android from her earpiece.

"It is the whole planet that is shaking. It's Salem…fighting Spider-Man and Shadow the Hedgehog." Penny responded calmly, still staring at the alien planet in the sky.

Central City, Planet Mobius

"Mr. Rotor, I'm scared." said Cream the Rabbit, hugging Cheese the Chao for comfort in the Sky Patrol as all of Mobius is feeling the intense clash between light and darkness.

"No reason to be scared, Cream! We have friends up there that'll get us out of this mess!" Rotor assured her, calming down the young rabbit.

'The energy readings they are emitting…It's off the scale!' said Nicole, speaking from the aircraft's computer system.

San Francisco, Planet Earth

'Tony, why are we experiencing a multi-world earthquake?' asked Wasp, speaking to the armored avenger while he's flying around blasting symbiotes with repulsors.

"It's the result of the Cosmic Emeralds clashing with the Chaos Emeralds! The power being generated is cataclysmic on a universal scale! Hope Spider-Man and Shadow know what they're doing, otherwise these symbiotes will be the LEAST of our problems!" Iron Man remarks, fearing the universe could be destroyed from the clash between the Chaos Emeralds and the Cosmic Emeralds.

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-I Am (Final Doom Version)

An explosion erupts near the Symbiote Castle, with Symbiote Goddess Salem flying away from the combined assault of Super Shadow and Super Spider-Man. "Where ya runnin', Sal?! Fight's this way!" taunted Super Spidey, firing a barrage of energy blasts from his hand.

Dark Salem sternly dodges all of the energy blasts until there was no more. Suddenly, Super Shadow warps next to her and delivers a powerful punch across her face, sending her flying and spinning until she quickly stopped herself in midair. Salem rubs her pained cheek before calmly smirking at the heroes, "You two never cease to surprise me. I honestly believed the abyss swallowed you for good. A mistake on my part. But I studied the powers of the Super Form from the fight against Goblin. If you think THAT will be enough to stop me, then you are more naïve than-."

"GOTCHA!" Super Spidey rudely cuts her off by punching her down, allowing Super Shadow to kick her away. "Blah blah blah! I'm so sick of listening to you! Hurry up and try to squash us." Spidey taunts her with hand gesture.

Salem frowns stoically, "Fine." before powering up her dark purple aura.

Shadow smirks cockily, "Try to fight seriously against us." before flying towards the witch at incredible speeds.

Annoyed, Salem scowls, "Do not tell me how to fight! I have a MILLENNIA of experience over the both of you!" She summons a freezing hailstorm to slow down Super Shadow, then spins her sword around and conjures up a dark tornado that swallows and attacks him.

"What I lack in experience, I make up for in style!" quips Super Spidey, as he punches the witch in the stomach, "And quippy one-liners." And then punches her across the face and spins around to roundhouse kick her away. Before she retaliates, Spidey sprays fire webbing on her nose and head, creating a makeshift clown nose and hair respectively which infuriates her to the point of growling.

"What is the meaning of this? You are aware I have become immune to fire." Salem scowled.

"Doesn't stop you from looking like a clown. You were so asking for it." quips Spidey, enraging the witch.

"How dare you taunt a goddess!" Salem violently bursts with energy to scatter the fire webbing on her body, then slashes the air with her Necrosword to unleash a massive shockwave that was narrowly dodged by Spidey and carves a trench on the ground below.

"Goddess of the Clowns? It's such an honor. Your tricks are laughable AND impressive!" quips Super Spidey. Dark Salem gets fed up and blasts the webslinger with a powerful energy beam from her palm. But to her annoyance, Spidey easily survived with a taunting gesture, "Like I said, laughable! You know I'm invulnerable in this state. You might as well be a Mime Goddess!"

Growing more irritated by his taunts, Salem warps next to him and strikes him with a slash from her symbiote sword before smashing him into the ground. "Okay…That one hurt a little." Spidey tends to his chest, having felt pain from being hit by the Necrosword.

"Not so funny against the might of the Necrosword! A weapon formed to slay even the gods!" Salem boasted.

"So are these!" quips Super Shadow from above, unleashing an onslaught of charged Chaos Spears at Salem, who deflects most of them with her sword.

"And these!" Super Spidey flies at Salem while wrapping his fists with electric webbing. He lets loose a powerful uppercut that electrifies her while weakening her symbiote, then hits her with a flurry of electrified punches and flips before kicking her in the face. Salem spins to knock her back, then fires an energy blast from her sword that was dodged by Spidey and destroys a portion of her castle instead. Spidey flies and assaults her with a flurry of kicks that were impressively parried until she was webbed in the face, immediately followed by Shadow smashing her to the ground with a Spin Dash, ensuing a massive crater that she is fiercely pinned onto by Spider-Man's immeasurable strength.

"Aw, what's the matter? Your divine witch powers aren't looking so WONDEROUS now." Super Spidey mocks her while struggling to keep her pinned down.

Dark Salem's eyes shine pure red with ominous rage, "Don't be pretentious!" She gathers sinister energy, which worries the super duo before she angrily unleashes a strong, explosive burst of energy that forces them to jump back before being blown away. Salem instantly warps to their location and furiously swings her sword at them. Spidey unsheathes an aura stinger while Shadow creates a Chaos Spear that he wields like an actual spear, before they lock their weapons with Salem's in an explosive clash that devastates the surrounding area. Salem overpowers the duo and knocks them upward with a painful upward slash, then quickly forms a large vortex of energy above them that rains down energy blasts, bombarding the duo as they are smashed into the ground looking unconscious.

"It's over, mortals. Farewell!" said Salem, sprouting sharp tendrils from her sword that are about to impale the heroes.

Suddenly, four giant spider limbs made from Peter's golden aura manifest from his back as two of them cleave the tendrils while the remaining two impale Salem in the chest, much to her shock as she thought Peter was unconscious. Adding to her shock was Super Shadow instantly standing back up, looking unscathed and throwing a charged Chaos Spear that electrifies Salem, paralyzing her while she screams in pain.

"Didn't know I can do this, huh?" quips Super Spidey, standing on two of his energy limbs after he and Shadow played possum.

"I thought you were wise to not underestimate us." said Super Shadow, taunting and kicking the witch out of the spider arms.

Super Spidey flies at immeasurable speeds towards the witch while saying, "Don't blink, 'cause this Super Maximum Spider is going GLOBAL! Get ready!" and performs several flying kicks and punches through Salem as he moves so fast he travels around the planet several times in a mere matter of seconds, ensnaring her in a worldwide series of electric webs. "So, havin' fun?" He asks, finishing the combo with one final, powerful electrified stinger that impales her, which caused her to cough out blood, before swiftly kicking her down, ensuing a bigger crater than before.

From the top of Symbiote Castle, the imprisoned Ozpin watches the incredible battle in awe. "She bled…His stingers bypassed her immortality." He quietly noted.

And from a crater on the ground, the weakened God of Darkness also observes the amazing battle unfold. He scoffs, "His nature as a Spider-Totem is weakening my brother's magic on her. His very touch is a bane to creatures like my Grimm…And as The Other, he is the perfect predator. What a dangerous creature you are…" He muttered.

"My last attack seemed to have done a number on her." Super Spidey said to Shadow, while being oblivious that his nature as a Spider-Totem is giving him a slight advantage.

"Those stingers of yours are deadly." Super Shadow noted, while he and Spidey hovers near the massive crater they smashed Salem into.

"Not as annoying as all the taunting we've been doing to her." Spidey quipped. "Her symbiote is amplifying all of her negative emotions. All that anger and hatred that she had bottled up for centuries are now surfacing, making her sloppy enough to be hit with electric attacks. I knew this plan of mine would work out, but your idea is giving us an advantage too."

Shadow says, "Yes. Thanks to the Chaos Emeralds, our positive aura is weakening the negative energy that is strengthening her symbiote. This would be a lot more effective if we were empowered by the Cosmic Emeralds."

"I say we're doing pretty good without them." Spidey quips while retracting his energy waldoes.

Suddenly, Dark Salem angrily powers up as she rises from the crater and growls at the heroes that have harmed her, "How can you…have this much power…?! You're not supposed to be this strong with the Chaos Emeralds! The Cosmic Emeralds were stated to be superior!"

"It depends on how you use them. You can't know the depths of our power if you're just watching from the shadows." Super Shadow responded.

"You've got great power, Sal, but uh…you're not very responsible with it." Super Spidey mocks the witch.

"Do not mock me with your uncle's FOOLISH words! As long as this world exists, my power is absolute! You shall now see the power of the SYMBIOTE GODDESS!" Dark Salem retorts angrily, manipulating the planet to repeatedly protrude giant symbiote tendrils that forces the heroes on the narrow defense.

"She's attacking us with the very planet itself!" Super Shadow remarks while having trouble dodging the massive tendrils.

"Be careful! Her power is even greater than before!" shouted Ozpin, warning his friends.

"And you're next, my precious Ozma…" Salem scowls at her former lover. "This universe will house my new family. One protected by a goddess that LOVES them. One that doesn't BETRAY them over a 'promise' to monsters. You will all worship me and DESPAIR."

"Can't you two kiss and make up?" quips Super Spidey, firing a massive energy blast that obliterates most of the protruding tendrils.

"Silence, insect!" Salem retorts, using Chaos Control to freeze Spidey in time, then uses her magic to draw up symbiotic fists from the very planet to pummel the frozen webslinger, smashing him to the ground.

Suddenly, Super Shadow warps to her side using Chaos Control, undoing her effects before trading blows with powerful attacks, "Didn't your parents ever teach you that spiders aren't insects?"

Just then, the symbiote fists were sliced into two by a recovered Super Spidey and his energy stingers. "Nah. One of them was dead while the other locked her in a tower for being as dumb as the gods that made her immortal." He quips while ascending into the sky before spiraling towards Salem and fiercely slashing them, sending her flying across the planet while Shadow charges up a Light Speed Attack.

The instant he finished charging up, Super Shadow flies off at light speed, bouncing off a mountain towards Salem and assaulting her with a barrage of light-speed attacks before kicking her into space. Shadow confronts her in the orbit of Symbiote World and gasps with worry upon noticing her charging an ominous energy sphere in her palm. "Chaos…" says Shadow, as Salem fires a massive energy sphere, "SPEAR!" He fires off his own massive sphere to collide with her own, canceling each other out in a massive explosion.

Right after that, the hedgehog and the witch clash intensely across space at incomprehensible speeds until Spidey intercepts with a powerful electrified punch across Salem's face, smashing her through asteroids before crashing into one. Scowling, Salem warps towards Peter and hits him with a flurry of brutal sword strikes before knocking him away, then immediately does the same to Shadow and smash him onto Remnant's moon. Shadow quickly recovers with an annoyed scowl at the witch. While the hedgehog charge up a Spin Dash, Spidey binds the witch with electric webbing until Shadow warps his Spin Dash right in front of her, performing a boost while ramming her through space at supersonic speeds before kicking her back to Symbiote World.

Re-entering Symbiote World's atmosphere, Dark Salem slows down her descent as she safely lands on the streets of a city. As soon as Shadow and Spidey warped to her location, she snarls angrily while powering up, "Why? Why do you keep resisting? Why can't you understand that I am trying to build a better future for all of us?" She uses telekinesis to slowly lift multiple buildings around her to the air, "Absolute power is the only way to bring order to our worlds…The humans must be subjugated. The gods must be eliminated! Peter, Shadow, open your eyes. Realize that those you have sworn to protect will inevitably betray you, like they have done in the past. Why throw your own lives on the line for THEM?" She asks furiously before hurling the buildings at the heroes.

"If the world chooses to become our enemy, then we will fight like we always have!" said Super Shadow, rapidly firing Chaos Spears to destroy the buildings while flying towards Salem.

"I wouldn't put it in THOSE words, but yeah." quips Super Spidey, easily punching through the thrown buildings.

Dark Salem growls furiously at their continuous defiance, "Let me make myself clear!" She flaunts her sword, as she uses her power to summon the Symbiote God of Light above Peter and brutally foot-stomp on his back, slamming him to the ground.

Spidey grunts while struggling to break free from the corrupted god's grasp, "This isn't proving your point!"

As Super Shadow makes a beeline for Salem, he was blocked by the sudden appearance of Symbiote Thor. The corrupted Asgardian sends the hedgehog flying through buildings with a dark-charged punch, then calls upon a powerful lightning strike that slams him to the ground.

"Why does a god's foot smell so bad?" quips Spidey, then bursts with incredible energy to free himself from the Symbiote Light God's grasp. He flies away from the god, who transforms into a dark, horrifying oriental-looking dragon that roaringly chases the webslinger across the city. The dragon repeatedly fires mouth blasts at the webslinger, who continuously dodges them, "Hold your tail! I'm finding you a breath mint that should rid you of that symbiote smell!"

While flying through the city, Spidey spots a massive alien-looking generator near a power planet. "Found one. I think." He quipped. He turns around at the corrupted god and swiftly dodges another of its mouth blast before webbing his eyes, then grabs and spins him by the tail, "Tell me how shocking this'll hurt once you're free." He hurls the dragon at the generator, then fires an energy beam to push him towards it. Once the dragon collided with the generator, it severely electrocutes him while the entire power plant explodes and erupts into flames. The explosion knocks away the God of Light, now free from the symbiote and back in his golden humanoid form as he falls unconscious to the ground.

Meanwhile, Super Shadow uses Chaos Control to freeze time and stop Symbiote Thor in his tracks and starts beating on him at high speed. He then channels energy into his fist as he says, "Chaos…" and throws that punch onto Thor's stomach while shouting, "BLAST!" to unleash an explosive punch that smashes Thor out of his symbiote, freeing him and leaving him unconscious as well.

"This can't be happening…" said Dark Salem, sweating in fear from losing her godly slaves.

"Oh it can. AND IT IS." quips Super Spidey, warping to Salem's front and uppercuts her to the sky, following up with Super Shadow warping above her and delivering a downward flurry of kicks before kicking her down towards Spidey, who swiftly grabs her by stabbing her chest with a stinger then unleashes a massive electrical web blast that obliterates half of the city, sending her flying out of it

BGM-Bleach OST-Emergence of The Haunted

Dark Salem was sent flying towards the rooftop of Symbiote Castle, where she accidently destroys the Symbiote Dragon that was imprisoning Ozpin. The immortal witch was too furious with the golden heroes that she left the freed Ozpin to do as he please. Just as Super Shadow flies to the castle, Salem surprise him from the back and blast him to the roof before warping away. Shadow quickly rises to the sky and sense Salem coming. He teleports away the instant she appeared to attack, allowing the sudden appearance of Super Spider-Man to deflect her down and get kicked by the reappearing Shadow.

As Super Spidey charges up an energy blast, both Shadow and Salem activate Chaos Control at the same time, freezing everything and everyone, including Spidey. The hedgehog and witch exchange furious glares before dashing at each other, then clash at remarkable speeds with neither combatant gaining even the slightest advantage over the other. Just as Shadow was about to hit her with a warping roundhouse kick, Salem warped away from it and blasts him down through the castle as time resume and she warps away.

"Huh?" Super Spidey remarks as time resume, "Where is everyone? Shadow?!" He glances his surroundings until he found the hole in the castle where Shadow was blasted through and flies to his rescue.

With the super hedgehog, he crashes through a lower section of the castle until he found himself outside. Shadow stops himself and flies towards Salem, who flew towards him. The hedgehog clashes his energy fists with her sword and magic blasts at high speeds, until Salem warps above him and blasts him down again. Salem smirks, until she was suddenly blasted into her castle by a massive energy beam from Super Spider-Man appearing across from her.

"Look both ways before you get blasted." Spidey quips before pursuing her.

Sliding backwards in a hallway, Dark Salem quickly deflects the spider's energy barrage before warping away from his hyper-fast flying kick. "Can't run from me! I can SMELL you're losing, and it is an AWFUL scent! Take a bath!" Spidey starts flying at light speed, searching the entire castle for her presence. In mere seconds, he finds and tackles Salem to the ground, then quickly kicks her back up before immediately kicking her through a wall and out of the castle.

Just as Super Spidey appears behind her and is about to deliver a punch, Salem warps away from it at the nick of time and strikes him towards the outer wall of the castle. Spidey repositions himself to safely land on the wall, standing on it with his stick 'em powers. He glances at Salem, who confuses him with her own teleporting army of illusions. Confused by the illusions, Spidey flies up the wall of the castle while being chased by the real Salem, who is quickly pursued by Shadow.

While flying up the tall castle, Salem fires a teleporting magic blast at Spider-Man. The super spider swiftly dodges it and charges up a blast, only to be interrupted by Shadow trying to strike Salem on his own. All three combatants then warp from sight for a moment, one by one. Suddenly, they all reappear as the heroes and Salem fiercely clash at remarkable intense speeds. Punches. Kicks. Stingers. Webs. Tendrils. Energy blasts. Sword swings. They were all used in this clash, and none of them helped a combatant gain an advantage. It wasn't until Shadow fired his Chaos Spears that gave him and Spidey the opening they needed to overwhelm Salem with an onslaught of devastating attacks, until she was blasted high above the castle.

BGM-Adrien Lozano OST-Wrath of the Dark God

Dark Salem hovers in the sky with wounds that are taking a long time for her immortality to regenerate, having suffered too much damage that is also weakening her symbiote. Suddenly, Super Spidey warps to her back seconds before Super Shadow appears to her front.

Shadow scoffs at the wounded witch, "You are quite stubborn, aren't you…?"

"N-No…No!" Salem lowers her head in fury, shaking with anger while struggling to contain her increasing rage, "NO, NO, NO, NO, NOOOOOOO!" She repeated, suffering an unusual mental breakdown as she finds herself losing to the heroes.

"This must be a first. The Wicked Witch of Remnant has finally cracked." Spidey quipped.

"I have come so far…for so many centuries…I can't lose at this pivotal STAGE!" said Salem, suddenly giving into her rage as a Venom-like mask manifest on her face, much to the heroes' shock. Draconic wings sprout from her back as she grows a pair of horns on her head. And what's more surprising, a mysterious white spiral appears on her forehead. "You, all of you…YOU ARE IN MY WAY!" Dark Salem shouted, tapping into her own Rage Mode.

The enraged witch unleashes a massive explosion around herself. Spidey was quick to block the explosion, but not Shadow as it left him horribly stunned. Noticing this chance, Salem lashes out tendrils on the stunned hedgehog, sending him flying down at terrifying speeds.

"SHADOW!" shouted Super Spider-Man.

The webslinger tries flying to his rescue, but was ferociously intercepted by Dark Salem and blasted onto the roof of the castle, ensuing a massive crater. Quickly, Spidey jumps out of the crater with little wounds, as Salem warps behind him, "Parker! You have become INCREASINGLY annoying!"

"And YOU have lost control of your symbiote!" retorts Spidey, swiftly trying to kick her as he turns around but she surprisingly dodged it, "I TOLD you this would happen! NO ONE can control the symbiotes!"

"I don't care if this power controls me! As long as it kills you, the hedgehog, Ozma, and ALL of humanity!" Dark Salem retorted.

Meanwhile, Super Shadow crashed into the castle grounds and was left nearly unconscious. "Shadow! Are you alright?" shouted the freed Ozpin, hurrying to his aid.

Shadow grunts in pain, while being helped to his feet by the headmaster, "I'm fine…But where did that power come from?"

"Centuries of suppressed anger and hatred have finally surfaced and taken complete control of her." Ozpin answered.

"But it doesn't make sense!" Shadow retorted. "Our positive aura should be neutralizing her anger. Her symbiote should be weakened by now. It's as if she has tapped into ANOTHER source of unlimited power…" He thinks to himself for a moment, trying to understand the mystery behind Salem's sudden powerup. And then it hits him as he gasps, "…Wait! Can that really be it?!"

"What?" Ozpin questioned him.

"She mentioned earlier that, 'As long as this world exists, her power is absolute'." Shadow responded, "This Symbiote World…is just one massive amplifier for the hive-mind! Making her stronger! Just like the Spires Electro created when he was infected! We must do something about this planet if we hope to defeat her once and for all."

"You're not suggesting…" Ozpin remarks, stunningly realizing what Shadow's plan is.

"Yes…We're going to destroy this Symbiote World." Shadow responded calmly.

"But…do you have the strength for such a task? Both you and Spider-Man have exhausted most of your stamina. And Thor and the God of Light are still unconscious." Ozpin commented.

"I can do it…" The God of Darkness chimed into the conversation, weakly walking towards the headmaster and hedgehog.

"No. You are still weak from your fight with Salem." Shadow told him bluntly.

"How DARE a mortal call me weak…I am destruction incarnate." The Dark God retorted with annoyance.

"You won't be doing much destruction in that pitiful state." Shadow quipped, "I have an idea. Do you possess the power of teleportation?"

The Dark God scoffs, "Easily."

"Then you and Ozpin hurry to the Space Colony ARK and prep the Eclipse Cannon. With any luck, it's still orbiting Mobius after Salem warped the planet to this universe." Shadow replied.

"Eclipse Cannon?" Ozpin questioned in confusion.

"A weapon capable of destroying planets when fully charged with the seven Chaos Emeralds." Shadow answered.

"You mortals developed such a weapon…Impressive." The Dark God complimented.

"Once you've arrived at the ARK, warp Sonic and Tails to meet with you. They'll help you bypass the defense system and towards the central control room. Once everything is set, I'll use Chaos Control to give you the Emeralds so you may activate the cannon. Do not waste a second!" Shadow ordered them.

"But Shadow! If we do that…you and Spider-Man will be destroyed along with the planet! And there is no guarantee it'll destroy Salem! She's immortal!" Ozpin retorted, not wanting to kill his friends with a risky maneuver.

"The Eclipse Cannon is strong enough to vaporize her symbiote, which in turn will end this invasion." Super Shadow argued calmly, "Maria loved Mobius. I will NOT allow Salem to destroy it! As the Ultimate Lifeform, I am willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Same as Spider-Man. He will do anything to protect his loved ones."

Ozpin pauses, then relents with a look of sadness, "…I understand. We'll head to the ARK immediately. And thank you, Shadow. Tell Peter the same, and that I'm sorry for placing all of our hopes on you two."

Shadow nods at him, "I will."

"Both you and the mortal, Spider-Man, have shown a great strength that I didn't believe mortals could possess. You have my respect, Shadow the Hedgehog." The Dark God compliments the golden hedgehog, "We will take our leave immediately. Best wishes." He uses his magic to warp himself and Ozpin out of Symbiote World, before Super Shadow powers up and flies to the sky.

Meanwhile atop of Symbiote Castle, Super Spider-Man is being brutally overpowered by a barrage of Dark Salem's enraged attacks. Swiftly, Salem hits him with a teleporting slash from her Necrosword that was so powerful it not only sent Spidey flying into the air, but forced him out of his Super Form.

'All out of Super…Not good…This…might be the end…' quips Spider-Man in his thoughts, as he weakly slips into unconscious as the Symbiote Invasion nears its conclusion.

KFX Here: The Symbiote Invasion has reached its climax. Dark Salem has awakened her Rage Mode. Spider-Man lost his Super Form. And Shadow has a plan that'll require the ultimate sacrifice to stop the invasion. Make no mistake. An important character is going to die in the final chapter (before the epilogue).
