Chapter 1
Maleficent thought that she would be happy in Storybrooke. Regina helped set her in up in a nice two-bedroom house. She and Lily were getting along. Getting the chance to make up for lost time. However, Lily is an adult. The dragon sorcerous knows that she lost her chance to raise a child. To be a mother. Everything felt empty now. Trapped in a small town and never able to have a family. At least she has Regina, who lets her help with Henry. One day, she was sitting on her couch, absentmindedly flipping through a spell book when she heard a knock on the pine door. "Come on in, Regina."
The door creaks as it swings open, heels tap as the Evil Queen approaches her old friend. "I need a drink," she states as she approaches Maleficent's liquor cabinet. Unlike her usual calm and collected demeanor, her black hair is a mess. All her makeup was removed and she didn't bother trying to cover up the bags under her eyes.
"What happened, Regina?" Maleficent asks as she walks over to Regina. Putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Henry doesn't want me anymore. He wants Emma," Regina says as she summons two glasses. Pouring them both whiskey. The queen doesn't take too long to down her drink and pour another. "We can get our happy endings back. I know how."
"Our children don't want us. Neither of us can have more kids. What is your plan to achieve the impossible?" Maleficent asks as she takes a small sip of her own drink. The two friends just want to raise their kids. Regina at least had 12 years with Henry. The dragon lost Lily before she hatched.
"The Dark One has a map to other realms. Realms where we exist. Perhaps we have families in other realms," Regina states before downing a second drink. Belle had found the map a week before, she even offered to give it to the Queen. Regina just didn't think that she would need it. "A family isn't a guarantee, but we may as well try."
"He won't part with that map for free. We will have to make a deal," Maleficent starts as she walks over to the coat stand by her front door. Putting on her black fedora and black cape. Ready to go and strike a deal.
"Belle offered it to me. She feels bad about the Dark One using us," Regina says as she sets down her glass. Having downed three glasses of whiskey. "She should still be in the pawn shop."
Maleficent walks back to her old friend and takes her elbow. With a dark mist surrounding the villains, the disappear from the plain house. Reappearing next to the puppets of Guiseppe's parents.
Belle was behind the counter working on inventory when the two villains suddenly appeared. With a yelp of surprise, the princess drops the clipboard she was holding. When she sees Regina, she takes the map out of its case. "Did you change your mind about the map? Rumple can deal without it until you find what you are looking for."
"It shouldn't take too long. Thank you, Belle," Regina says as she takes the yellowed map from Belle and unrolls it. A blank parchment staring back at her. "How does it work?"
"Put a drop of your blood on the corner. Every realm you exist in will appear. Touch a realm to see any relatives," Belle explains as she removes the index card naming the realm out of the deck holder. Hiding it under the register. "Take as long as you need. I'll tell Rumple that the Author took it."
Regina rolls up the map before disappearing in smoke with Maleficent. Reappearing in the dining room of Regina's house. The stand next to each other on one side of the marble table, the Queen spreads out the blank map. She fetches a small knife from the kitchen before returning. "Well here goes nothing," she states before pricking her index finger with the tip of the knife. The single red dot falls onto the map, bold lines appears where the blood lands. Three lands appear. The names of the realms appearing beneath the lands. Two of the lands had names that they recognize. The Land Without Magic and the Enchanted Forest. The third realm glowed the brightest out of the three. "Auradon… I never heard of it. Have you?"
"No, zoom in on it. See if you can find out more," Maleficent suggests as she pulls up two charis. Expecting this to take a while.
Regina touches the land named Auradon. The map zooms in, now showing only that land and two dots. One on an island and another on the mainland. She touches the brighter red dot, deciding to start with that one. The maps turn into a window of the other realm. Lines turning into the scene of an overweight woman in an ivy-covered crumbling castle touching up her makeup.
"You did not age well in that realm," Maleficent comments as she leans closer to the map. Her finger brushes against the second dot, resulting in the scene swirling in a purple vortex. Settling on a teenage girl in what looked like a dorm room.
The girl had long, blue hair flowing down to mid-back. She was decked out in blue and red, in the process of sewing a new blue dress at her sewing machine. A design pad was open next to her, showing multiple sketches of the dress she is currently making. "I have a daughter in this realm…" Regina whispers as the scene fades to black. A blank paper taking its place.
"Perhaps I exist in that realm as well," Maleficent says as she takes the knife from her friend. Piercing the tip of her left index finger and letting the blood drip onto the map. The same realms appeared to Maleficent. At the sight of Auradon, she taps on that realm. For dots lighting up on the mainland in pairs. The pairs were close to one another, showing the people to be close to each other. One of the four dots were brighter than the rest. That was the one she selected. The map zooms in on a black lizard in a cage. A replica fridge next to a warmed rock that the lizard rested on. A petite girl with purple hair was reading a leather-bound spell book. Studying the section on teleportation. She glances over at a small container of mealworms and starts to speak. Sound not able to be heard through the vision. A worm suddenly appears on top of the lizard. With a smile, the girl turns back to her studying. The scene suddenly changes to the two other dots. Pink room now replaced by a pink room filled with blue string lights and blue covers on the beds instead of pink. Two teenage girls sat on the bed closest to the fireplace. An astrology book was in the teen girl with blue hair's lap. Her hair was shaved on both sides in an undercut. The rest of her hair was slicked back with hair gel, reaching just pat the edge of her hairline. There was also a pre-teen boy trying to find the perfect shirt in the closet he shares with his sister. His hair was shaggy and nearly reached his shoulders. A deep purple streaked with blue throughout it. He would occasionally hold up a different purple or blue shirt up to the girls. Asking for their opinions. When the vision fades back to a blank paper, Maleficent sits down in one of the expensive dining chairs. "The other me is a lizard with three kids…"
"I have a magic bean. Pack your bags. We leave in the morning," Regina says as she goes to leave. Planning on packing to start her new life.
A/N: So I completely forgot that I have this story. I'm having this set after the events of my story Blue Flames Inferno. The only characters that are mine are Hadley, Malice, and Elyse.
