A few days passed and Risa hadn't seen Fat Gum or his interns, but when she learned of the Shie Hassaikai incident she understood why. Things were getting crazy in the city and a meeting had been called at the Nighteye Agency and a raid was underway at the headquarters of the Shie Hassaikai. Risa heard rumors from some of their customers that the Shie Hassaikai were responsible for Trigger, from its creation to its distribution, and that they were using a little girl to make it.
Hours went by the day of the raid and Risa found that she was nervous and worried for the heroes involved in the raid, knowing what Trigger could do. She kept the news channel on for updates, finding that most of her time and their customers' time was spent on the edge of seats and intently watching the tv mounted on the wall above the bar. When any real update came, things had escalated so quickly and viewers could barely keep up with what was going on.
A massive battle took place outside of the headquarters, the little girl and one of the young heroes in training at the center.
"Holy shit, what did Chisaki do?"
"Has he lost his mind?"
Kai Chisaki, the captain of the Shie Hassaikai, had fused with one of his men and became something that looked similar to a stone dragon- what was left of his original form appearing in the dragon's maw.
Risa and the others watched as the young hero began glowing with an enormous amount of power that appeared to result from the little girl's quirk. They watched as he quickly ended the battle, defeating Chisaki. A sigh of relief came from everyone as the dust settled, but Risa got the impression that things weren't entirely over. It was another hour or so before any further updates came and it was revealed that the heroes Sir Nighteye and Snatch- who had been accompanying police while transporting the imprisoned Chisaki- had been killed due to injuries sustained in battle, several other heroes were hospitalized to be treated for their injuries as well.
'I wonder if Fat Gum and the boys are OK?' Risa thought.
By the end of the day, most everyone had gone home and Risa was just helping Seiryo clean up the restaurant. They were an hour or so from closing up shop when the phone rang. Seiryo answered and spoke with the caller for a few minutes, jotting something down on his notepad. After he hung up, Risa came over with a broom in hand.
"Who was that, Gramps?"
"The hospital. We have a special delivery for one of the patients."
"That's an odd request, they don't usually allow outside food like that."
"This is a special patient, so they're making an exception."
"Alright, well what's the order?" Risa asked, setting the broom back in its place and coming over to look at Seiryo's notepad. "Wow, someone must be hungry."
"Should be pretty easy to put everything together, but we'll need to close up early."
"I'll go lock everything up and put the closed sign up, then meet you in the kitchen?"
"I'll start getting things out."
And with that, Risa and Seiryo went about closing Mazeru early and working on their special delivery order- which had literally one of everything off their menu. Risa kept wondering who would order so much food, but then she thought about what happened earlier today and could only come to one conclusion.
'I guess we'll know when we get there.'
After a half-hour, the special delivery order was ready and packed up. As Seiryo helped Risa load the order into the back of the car, he mentioned that his back was hurting and asked that Risa make the delivery herself.
"Sure, Gramps, that's fine. I got more of that bath salt you really like the other day, put it on the top self of the cabinet."
"Thank you, dear, a bath sounds wonderful right now." His brow furrowed and he looked at her. "Are you sure you'll be OK delivering this?"
Risa smiled and nodded. "I can just ask for a cart of something to take everything up." She gave him a hug. "Take a bath and relax, Gramps. I'll call you later, promise."
"Drive safely, then."
Risa got into the car and waved as she started the engine, carefully pulling out of the parking space and out onto the main street.
As she disappeared from view, Seiryo went up to their home to start a night relaxation.
It didn't take long for Risa to reach the hospital the request had come from and she was relieved to see that there was already a couple of people waiting for her with a few carts for the order.
"I am so sorry to bring you out with such a big order," one of the women said.
Risa parked the car and opened the trunk. "It's alright, we don't mind. It is a rather unusual request, though."
"It's a special patient," the other woman said, "and he's VERY hungry."
"I can see that," Risa said, chuckling. "Well, let's get these carts loaded up and I'll help you ladies wheel it up."
After about five minutes, the carts were loaded and Risa followed the women inside. They had to take two separate elevators to get everything and everyone up to the floor where this patient was roomed, but once they had it was just down the hall to the third to last room.
"Your food has arrived, sir," one of the women said, knocking on the door.
Risa followed the women into the room, seeing a handsome blonde man heavily bandaged sitting in the hospital bed- a goofy and happy grin spreading across his face at the sight of all the food.
"Finally!" the man said, then saw Risa coming in last. "Sorry to make such a big request, but your food was the only thing that sounded really good so I hope you don't mind."
Risa looked at the man for a moment, a sense of familiarity growing, but she offered him a smile. "Not at all. We closed up shop a bit early, but your order was no trouble at all."
"That's a relief."
Risa chuckled a bit at that, then gestured to the food. "Are you sure you're going to be able to eat all this yourself?" She stepped back as the women took their leave and reminded her of when visiting hours would be over.
"I should be able to, but just in case," the man looked at her, offering her a sheepish smile, "would you like to join me?"
Risa was surprised by the offer and made to politely decline until her stomach growled. "S-Sure." She pulled up a chair and sat next to his hospital bed, grabbing an extra plate. "So, who landed you in the hospital?"
The man took a few bites, then answered. "One of the villains we encountered today."
"So you police? Or are you a hero?" Risa asked, looking up at him and noticing the expression he had- almost like he was hurt by her question. "What?"
"Do I really look that different?" he asked, brow furrowed.
Risa eyed him a moment, then saw how he was holding the stick of takoyaki and it clicked. "Fat Gum?"
He nodded. "It's me."
"Wow, what the hell happened?"
"Well, part of how my quirk works is that my fat can store kinetic energy, which I can then convert into offensive muscle but at the cost of the fat- making my defense weak."
"So you burned through all that fat during the raid?"
Fat Gum nodded. "It was a tough battle and if I had stored all that kinetic energy any longer than I had, it probably would have killed me."
Risa looked him over, her brow furrowed. "Are you OK? I mean aside from your obvious injuries."
"Yeah, I'm OK, it'll take me a few days or so to fully recover."
"That's a relief at least," Risa said, then was surprised when he presented his hand.
"I suppose proper introductions are in order," he started, holding out his hand, "I'm Taishiro Toyomitsu, aka the BMI Hero: Fat Gum."
Risa smiled and shook his hand. "It's nice to properly make your acquaintance, Taishiro Toyomitsu, I'm Risa Fukuhara."
