Risa and Taishiro talked for a while, Risa pausing a moment to let Seiryo know she was fine but would be back a bit later, and before they knew it visiting hours were coming to an end.

Risa stood and stretched as Taishiro leaned back, his belly full and content. "Well, I should head out."

"Thanks for bringing me food," Taishiro said, chuckling with a little blush gracing his cheeks in embarrassment.

Risa smiled. "Any time, especially if it helps get you back on your feet."

Taishiro's smiled grew. "You know, Miss Risa, you're pretty interesting."

Risa smirked and winked at him as she said, "You don't know the half of it." She looked over as a nurse gave her final notice for the end of visiting hours, then returned her attention back to Taishiro. "Be sure to rest up, alright? We need you back on your feet, not just as a hero but as our new regular customer."

Taishiro chuckled. "Yeah, alright, I think I can do that."

Risa gave his hand a gentle squeeze, then offered him a final smile and wave as she left the room. She made her way through the halls, signed out at the desk- the nice receptionist having signed her in since her hands were full- then made her way outside to the car. But as she neared the car, she stopped and noticed someone leaning against it.

"Evening, Risa."

Risa sighed heavily and crossed her arms. "What the hell do you want, Kenzan? What will it take for you to get a fucking clue?"

Kenzan pushed back from the car and stepped just into the light of the street lamp. "I came to place my offer on the proverbial table once more."

"I told you no."

"I know, and I told the elders that but they are rather insistent that you join the organization."

"I don't care. I said no and I meant it." Risa started making her way to the driver's side, but Kenzan grabbed her arm. "Let go, right now."

"Now see here, I'm trying to be a gentleman and ask nicely," Kenzan started, his grip on her arm tightening, "but you are just being a stubborn little bitch about it and my patience is running thin."

Risa glared at him, her eyes flaring and smoke starting to rise from where Kenzan grabbed her. "I won't say it again, Kenzan."

Kenzan winced and withdrew his hand, shaking it to try and cool it down. "You can't keep up this defiance for long, Risa, you do realize that I hope?"

Risa rolled her eyes. "Nothing is going to change my mind, so just fuck off already."

"You know, I wonder what your grandfather would say if he knew how stubborn and rude you were being," Kenzan started, "I might just have to pay him a little visit and kindly inform him of the situation."

Risa lost her temper a bit at that and turned on Kenzan, slamming him into the car next to them- her eyes blazing. "You touch him, you're dead, got that? If any one of you assholes comes anywhere near Mazeru or Gramps, I will hunt every last one of you down and when I'm finished with you there won't be anything left for the cops."

Kenzan laughed nervously, holding his ground even as her Frostfire began to take on its Will-'o-the-wisp form. "See? This is exactly why you'd be so perfect in the organization! You have your father's quirk, his passion."

"Shut up, I'm nothing like him." Risa tightened her grip for a moment on his jacket, then released him and stepped back. "Just stop already, OK? I'm not coming to Dorifutā, ever. If the elders have a problem with that, then they can suck it." She made her way to the driver's side of her car and looked at Kenzan once more to add, "Stay away from us, the lot of you."

Up in his hospital room, Taishiro could see down into the parking lot and saw Risa heading to her car. He also saw what had just gone down between her and Kenzan, but he had no idea who it was that she was arguing with. He tried to get out of bed, but he was still pretty weak and could only sit there. It looked like she handled the situation, but it didn't stop him from worrying.

"What was that all about?"

Seiryo sat in his usual chair, glasses on with a book in one hand and a mug of tea in the other. He had taken his bath, his back was feeling better, but he was worried when Risa didn't come back right away. She had called to let him know she would be a while, but that was an hour ago.

Finally, as his worry was reaching a tipping point, Risa came into the living room and sank onto the couch with a heavy sigh.

"Welcome back, is everything OK?"

Risa lay there silent for a moment, then sighed again and said, "I'm not sure, Gramps."

Seiryo closed his book and set everything aside, leaning forward with a furrowed brow as he asked her what was wrong.

"Kenzan approached me again about Dorifutā and their offer to give me Dad's old position."

Seiryo sighed. "How many times has he come to see you?"

"This week? Or in general?"

Seiryo pinched the bridge of his nose. "That's not good..."

"Tell me about it..." Risa stared up at the ceiling. "He tried to threaten your safety to get me to comply."

"Well, Dorifutā's elders are known for those sorts of tactics so I'm not surprised." Seiryo looked at her. "Are you considering it?"

Risa looked at him and shook her head. "Not a chance in hell. I want nothing to do with Dorifutā, my place is here with you in Mazeru."

"They're persistent, dear, you know they won't just give up."

Risa sat up at that. "I know, but Gramps, I want nothing to do with them or that life. I'm not my father, I'm not his successor or anything like that. I'm just me, just Risa."

Seiryo stood and came across the way to sit next to her as she rested her elbows on her knees. "I know, but just be prepared that they will hound you until you give in."

"I don't understand, how much clearer can I make the message?"

"At this point, you can't."

Risa groaned and leaned back. "So what do we do?"

"We deal with it as things come along and if it gets out of hand then we reach out for help." Seiryo patted her knee. "It'll be OK, one way or another, I promise."
