Hey, guys. I finished PJO a month or two ago, and I'm Joping to get Kane Chronicles for Christmas. I thought I'd write a quick one-shot just before that, though.
Also I've only read the Titan's Curse Graphic Novel, and the Graphic Novels Don't have all the same stuff as the books, so bear with me.
I do not own Percy Jackson.
Christmas After the Titan's Curse
Paul's POV
I walked into the kitchen of the Woman I was dating lived (I was visiting), where Sally herself stood, looking nervous. The Christmas decorations did nothing to ease my worry at this.
"Hey, Dear. Is something wrong?" I asked.
Sally sighed. "Paul, remember when I told you about my son, Percy?"
"Yeah. He's at that Camp, isn't he?"
"He's coming home for Christmas."
My jaw dropped. "Is he?"
"Yes, he is." Sally chuckled at my stupid face. I joined in, the tension promptly breaking.
"He- he- he... When's he coming?" I Asked.
"Oh, Wednesday at Four. He just told me, actually, over the, uh, phone."
"I can't wait to meet him." I Grinned. "What's he like?"
"Well... He's brave... kind... short-tempered... just like his father." Sighed Sally. "He does tend to get into trouble. In fact, he's gotten himself expelled from seven schools."
"Seven!?" My Jaw dropped again.
"It's not his fault. In fact, everything was an accident. In fact, he was expelled from the sixth school because it wasn't working out for him."
"Yeesh. Unlucky." I Muttered. I felt really sorry for the kid.
"Well, I'll be there. What could go wrong?"
...
On Wednesday, three days before Christmas, I waited Nervously with Sally by the front door.
After what seemed like an hour, but was really only fifteen minutes, there was a knock on the door.
Sally opened it so quickly that it rebounded off the wall, and shut again.
She opened the door again, apologising endlessly. "Oh, Percy! I'm so glad you're home!" She hugged the boy.
He was a teenager with green eyes and black hair with a grey streak in it. His normal Mediterranean Complexion replaced in his face by a strangled red.
"Nice to- see you- too- Mom." He wheezed, patting her back.
Sally let go. "What happened to your hair? Was it-?"
Percy let out a cough, gesturing to me. I smiled awkwardly, and waved
"Oh, right. Percy, this is Paul." Said Sally, placing an arm me.
"Nice to meet you." I told him, stretching out a hand.
After a moments' hesitation, Percy shook it.
"Well, I'll just go into the other room. You two get to know each other. MacDonald's' will be here soon." Said Sally. She also shot Percy a look that said "We'll talk later"
After a few awkward seconds, I decided to started the conversation.
"So... what's your camp like?"
Percy gave a strange smile. "We learn about... The Greek Myths, and Things like that."
"The Greek Myths?" I grinned. "I teach that. At the School I work in."
Percy let out a chuckle. "Don't let me near there, or I'll accidentally blow up the gym hall wall or something."
I laughed, barely noticing Percy's Secret smile.
"Ah, you'll be fine."
Percy grimaced. "I don't think I will."
I decided to change the subject. "What else do you learn?"
"Greek Sword-Fighting"
"Seriously?" That's kid's Camp was better than the one I went to.
"Yep." Grinned Percy. "It's literally the only time I get to see my friends."
"Wow. That must be hard."
"Well, things could be worse."
"It can always get worse."
At that moment, Sally came in. "Dinner!" She set down MacDonald's.
"Yes! Nuggets!" Grinned Percy, sitting Down.
I smiled. "Two great things. I meet Percy, and I have MacDonald's for the first time in years."
"Years!? Must be hard..." Said Percy, sympathetically.
I shrugged. "The meals at the School are decent. Who works at the Camp?"
Percy smiled. "The Activities' Director is Mr. Brunner, but he tells everyone to call him Chiron. There's also This guy who everyone calls Argus, who's head of Security. Mr. D is the Camp Director, but he's a total jerk."
"Interesting. Who's your favourite God?"
"Poseidon."
...
Percy's POV
I lay on my bed, thinking everything over.
Paul seems NOTHING like Smelly Gabe. Apart from the fact that he's male, and involved romantically with my Mother.
He's NICE.
Oh, Tartarus, I'm happy for my Mom.
I'm a little Worried what will happen about telling him I'm a demigod, but It'll be fine.
Oh, and there's the problem about me going to his School.
Don't ask me how, but he got me to Agree.
This only adds to the worries of my Demigod life, most importantly, Nico di Angelo.
I put my head in my hands. He was blaming me, and I didn't blame him for that.
It was my fault.
The door opened. My Mom came in.
"Everything alright, Percy?"
I sighed. "Yeah, it's fine."
"I can tell when you're lying."
I sighed. "I met these siblings... Nico and Bianca Di Angelo. They were Demigods, so I took Nico to Camp, while Bianca joined the Hunters of Artemis."
My mother nodded. "Go on."
"Me, Annabeth, Grover, Bianca, Thalia -That daughter of Zeus I told you about- and another Hunter called Zoë went on a quest together. Zoë and Bianca... they didn't make it." I groaned, putting my head in my hands.
My Mom put a hand on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry, Percy."
"It gets worse." I sighed. "Nico blamed me, and ran off. I had no idea what happened to him."
"You believe him, don't you?" Asked Mom.
"Of course it was! I should have stopped her from trying to sacrifice herself!"
"Percy-"
"Just go, alright! I- I need to be alone." I sniffed.
She relented. "Okay, Percy. I'm here if you need me."
I sighed, and hoped Nico was Okay.
...
On Christmas, I rushed downstairs, and opened my presents. I had a lot more than usual.
I got books, a penknife, and a picture of my father.
He was standing on a beach, arm in arm with my mother. They looked so happy.
I then opened the present Paul had given me. He wasn't here since he had already promised to spend Christmas with his relatives, but he left us a gift each.
He left me a book labelled: 'All of Poseidon's children and their stories'.
I really was happy for my Mom.
Hades' POV
I raged.
My fury was unmatchable. It had been ever since Bianca's soul had passed through.
My daughter was dead!
I wanted to resurrect her. I wanted to.
Bianca asked me not to.
Father?" She felt our bond at once. My children were like that. Smarter than my siblings' spawn.
Yes." I nodded, sadly. "It is me."
Tears of happiness rolled down her face. "It's so good to finally meet you."
I smiled sadly. I couldn't help it.
"Hold still so I can begin the resurrection." I told her.
She sighed. "Please, don't."
I stared at her. "What?"
She sighed. "I learned about the Great Prophecy at the camp. I don't want to be part of it."
I stared.
I nodded. "Very well." I choked.
I stroked her face. She vanished.
Then my rage ignited.
I let out a howl that made Cerberus whimper and run.
She was dead...
Persephone rushed up. "Husband, Husband." She squeezed my hand. This could always tame my rage. "It's fine. It's fine."
She didn't care a fig about My children. All she cared about was keeping me happy.
I sighed.
"Come on, dear. It was her choice. She's happy."
"Leave me be." I sighed. I wanted to be alone.
She nodded, and walked away.
I walked over to a stone basin, and my son shimmered into view.
I sighed.
I felt an Urge to see him.
...
My son was sat down, hugging his knees. He looked like he hadn't eaten for days.
I had my hood up as I approached him, carrying the Stygian Iron Sword that was to be his.
I wanted to hug him.
Wait.
If Zeus Saw me here, hugging the boy...
He would kill him.
I groaned.
I had to let him see me, however. Let him know what I looked like. Just for a few seconds wouldn't hurt.
I set the Sword down by him.
He stared at it, confused.
I pulled down my hood.
He gasped.
"You're- you're-" He stammered.
I nodded. "I'm so sorry, Nico. Look, I can't stay long. Another second and Zeus might notice. You will be the child of the prophecy. You will Avenge Bianca."
With that, I put my hood up, and disappeared.
I walked away. I could not help looking back.
...
Annabeth's POV
I hesitated before I walked into my house.
It was Christmas Eve. A time for Family.
Things with my folks were improving, but still needed work.
My father hugged me. I smiled. "Good to be back."
"Bobby and Matthew want to hear what happened this time."
I sighed. "I don't want to talk about it."
He frowned. "Okay, then. You don't have to."
"Thanks."
Seven-year-old Bobby and Matthew, their Blonde hair flying behind them, proceeded to crush me in their hug. I was their hero.
"Annabeth!" They yelled. "Wanna watch A Christmas Carol?"
I smiled. "In a little bit. Lemme just get settled in."
"Okay!" They grinned.
"How are those two so excitable?" I sighed.
My Stepmother came up. "I have no idea." We both laughed.
...
Half an hour later, I walked into the living room.
"Hey, Annie! Can we have swords?"
"Can We have a dragon?"
"Do you have a boyfriend at camp?"
"No, No, and most definitely NO!" I laughed.
"Awwwwwww..." They moaned.
"C'mon, let's watch the movie"
I picked up the Remote, and Pressed 'Play'.
...
The next morning, us Chase Children rushed downstairs.
I opened my presents. It was great! Books... models...
Only two were left. I opened One from My mother. My divine mother.
It was a picture of her and dad standing next to each other in a library.
I stroked it.
"Thanks Mom." I whispered.
I opened Percy's present.
It was a picture of him, me, and Grover straight after we had returned Zeus's bolt to him.
I was in the middle, Grover was on the right, Percy on the left.
I blushed, and put it next to the other gifts.
Bobby and Matthew suddenly jumped on me and started tickling me.
I loved these idiots.
...
Thalia's POV
I smiled softly as me and the Hunters gathered round the Fire. I sat next to Milady Artemis.
As we sat round, A Christmas Dinner appeared on our plates.
"It's the one time of the year where we don't hunt for our food." Explained the Moon Goddess.
"Seriously?"
"Yes. Dig in, sister."
I complied. It was delicious.
After a while, Artemis stood.
"A Toast! To another successful year!"
There was a cheer.
"To luck in the war!"
A hopeful cheer.
"To fallen comrades!"
A mournful cheer.
"And to my new Lieutenant!"
A roaring cheer.
I stood up. "A Toast to my father, Lord Zeus of Olympus!"
Mixed Cheers. How many of them had he tried to- nevermind, I don't want to know.
As I dug in, I thought of Luke. I hoped he was Okay.
...
I know Hades acted Hard on Nico in The Last Olympian, but who's to say he wasn't nice to him when they first met? (When Nico was old enough to remember, of course.).
Merry Christmas! Leave a Like, and a Review!
