The thought kept repeating itself in Apple's head and she absolutely hated it. She tried distracting herself with other tasks but no matter what she did the thought was always there in the back of her mind and people were starting to notice.

Apple was sitting in the cafeteria zoned out and staring across the room but looking at nothing in particular, while her friends chatted away about some inane princess subject like shoes or makeup or fashion. She didn't know she'd tuned out a while ago and was now stuck in a hamster wheel of thoughts about Darling Charming.

Apples view suddenly focused and her attention was now on the object of her thoughts who had just entered the cafeteria, Darling Charming. The princess knight walked towards the food area and grabbed a tray off food before moving off to go sit with her brothers all the while oblivious to the intense staring coming from Apple.

However it did not go unnoticed by the other girls who were sitting with apple at the table. The conversation died down and all of the girls were looking at Apple before a throat being cleared brought her attention back to the present situation and she noticed her friends expressions.

Some were trying not to laugh others had raised their eyebrows in concern or were frowning at her.

"What"? Apple asked confused on why her friends were staring at her.

Ashlynn who was frowning at her replied.

"Are you okay Apple."?

Apple blinked confused before saying

"Yes why wouldn't I be."?

Briar one of the girls who was trying not to snicker at her friend sassily responded.

"Oh I dunno maybe it's because you're trying to burn a hole through Darling Charmings head with your laser focus there"

Apple flushed as red as her namesake before she averted her gaze to the table top in embarrassment.

Ashlynn slapped briars arm to stop the girl from embarrassing apple further.

"Briar stop it leave her alone"

Properly chastised briar placed her hand on apples forearm and said

"But really sweety what's going on with you? You've been zoned out for weeks now"

Apple lifted her head and looked at her friends who all looked at her eager to help her with her problem and be there for her.

Sighing Apple replied with a sigh.

"Well you guys remember what happened when the evil queen got out?"

The other girls faces darkened at the memory and they nodded silently for Apple to continue.

"Well for weeks now I've been worried about what my destiny holds in store for me"

What do you mean?" Ashlynn asked her gently

"Well I mean when I first started school here I knew what my destiny had in store for me, I was going to be the future Snow White and eventually marry Daring and live happily ever after with my destined Prince Charming."

The other girls realised what Apple was getting at and indicated for her to continue.

"Well it was pretty straightforward until Darings kiss didn't work and now Well"

Apple trailed off and Briar picked up where apple left off.

"Now you're worried about what it means that Darling is the one who woke you up."

Apple rubbed her arm shyly

"Yeah I mean I keep getting this thought in my head along the lines of what would it be like to be with Darlings, would it be so different compared to Daring? And I just don't know what to do about it I barely know the other girl" Apple replied frustratedly pleading with the two other girls for advice on what to do.

" Well I mean I know Briar and I support you with whatever decision you make and Hunter will too, I say get to know her a little better even just as a friend" Ashlynn replied smiling at Apple kindly

Apple looked to Briar for her advice.

"I think you'd make a great couple and you'd be cute together but Ash is right get to know the girl better should be easy considering you have some of the same classes together and we support you whole heartedly" Briar replied and smiled comfortingly at the other girl.

Apple beamed up a little and brought the two other girls into a nice hug

"Thanks girls that means a lot to me that you have my back"

"Anytime" they both replied before going back to their food noticing that Apple seemed a lot less stressed.

Apple decided to take her friends advice and get to know Darling a little bit better. Thankfully she did have classes with Darling so at least they had the opportunity to get to know each other. Apple just didn't know how to initiate anything without being weird about it.

Which is how she found herself sitting in her princessology class trying to come up with a way to talk to Darling who was currently sitting a few feet away listening to their teacher talk about crown weight and size and how it can affect posture. Apple tuned out her teachers rambling and ended up just staring at Darling.

Sensing someone was looking at her Darling turned around in her seat to find Apple absentmindedly staring at her while gnawing on her lower lip apparently deep in thought about something, her eyebrows furrowed in a frown. Darling looked at Apples eyes until the other princess made eye contact with her and Darling flashed her own version of the infamous charming smile, noting with interest how Apple blushed the colour of her namesake and averted her eyes the tint on her cheeks making her even more beautiful.

Apple looked away from Darling feeling heat rise on her cheeks making her acutely aware that she was blushing just from Darlings smile, hesitating she looked up again only to catch a flirty wink Darling sent her way before turning around and resuming listening to their teacher a small smirk playing on her lips.

"Crap" was all Apples thoughts could elegantly conjure up.
