December 22:
Nicole smiles as she finally finishes the rest of her paperwork, she looks towards the clock and frowns. It's well past three in the morning and she knows her girlfriend is more than likely sleeping. She decides it's best to just head home as she grabs her jacket and keys, she is surprised to hear her phone ding as she slides into her car. She smiles when she sees a text from Waverly.
Waverly: I can't sleep without you. Come over?
Nicole beams as she types out a reply. Nicole: BE right there. She starts the car as she heads towards the homestead; she smiles as Waverly greets her.
"Hi," she says as she pulls her into a hug.
"Hey baby," Nicole replies as she hugs her tighter.
"I couldn't sleep," Waverly mumbles into her chest.
"Well I'm here now and it's really late," Nicole tells her as she leads her inside where it's warmer.
Waverly stifles a yawn as she heads towards the kitchen, "did you eat anything?"
"Just got something from the vending machine," Nicole tells her as she shrugs off her jacket and lays it over the couch before walking into the kitchen.
"I can make you something," Waverly tells her as she opens the fridge.
"I'm fine baby really," Nicole assures her as she wraps her arms around her waist.
"I don't mind," Waverly mumbles as she leans up and kisses her cheek.
"I know but it's late and you should be in bed," Nicole scolds her with a smile as she cups her cheeks and kisses her nose.
"I don't like sleeping without you," Waverly pouts as she leans against her girlfriend.
"Aww babe," Nicole smiles as she wraps her up in a tight hug.
"How about a bath?" she mumbles into her shirt.
Nicole smiles, "sounds wonderful."
Waverly smiles as she takes her hand and leads her upstairs, she pushes her gently down on her bed before walking off towards the bathroom.
Nicole smiles as she hears the water running, she stands up and upholsters her gun before putting it on safety and setting it on the dresser, she then takes off her shoes as Waverly returns.
"Bath is ready officer," Waverly smiles as she begins to unbutton Nicole's uniform shirt. She finishes undressing her girlfriend leaving her only in her bra and panties as she leads her to the bathroom.
"Will you be joining me?" Nicole whispers in her ear as she wraps her up in a hug.
"Of course," Waverly replies as she pulls away, she slips off her shorts and shirt leaving her completely naked as she steps into the tub, "you coming?"
Nicole just nods as she slips off her underwear and unhooks her bra before stepping into the tub; she sits down as she motions for Waverly to sit in her lap.
Waverly smiles as she feels Nicole's arms slide around her waist, she closes her eyes as she leans back against her girlfriend.
Nicole kisses the top of her head, "how was your day?"
Waverly hums sleepily, "it was okay, we just cleaned and hung around."
"Babe let's get some sleep," Nicole whispers as she takes notice of Waverly nodding off.
"Mmmkay," she hums in return as she makes no attempt to move.
Nicole just laughs as she tugs on the drain before gently standing up, she towels herself off before gently helping Waverly out, she pats her down before picking her up bridal style and carrying her to the bed, she gently lays her down as she kisses her forehead before walking over to the other slide and sliding in.
Waverly immediately lays her head on her chest as she wraps an arm around her, "I love you," she mumbles her voice heavy with sleep.
"I love you too baby," Nicole replies.
December 23:
Waverly and Nicole were making breakfast when Wynonna walks in, "morning," she mumbles as she sits at the table.
"Good morning" Waverly beams cheerfully as she hands her a cup of coffee.
"Bless you," Wynonna grumbles as she takes a long swig.
"Hungover?" Nicole asks as she sits down next to her.
"Why are you yelling?" Wynonna snaps.
Nicole just rolls her eyes as her phone rings.
"Ugh make it stop!" Wynonna grumbles as she lays her head on the table.
Nicole laughs as she answers it, "hello?"
"Hey Nicole sorry to bug you but I need you in the office," Nedley says.
Nicole closes her eyes, "I'll be right there."
"Who was it?" Waverly asks as she hands her sister a plate of food.
"Nedley I have to go, I'm sorry babe," she says as she kisses her quickly before going upstairs to change.
Waverly frowns as she sits down next to Wynonna whose just staring at the food.
"Guess it's just you and me again baby girl," she tells her as Nicole rushes out the door.
This better be important, the red head thinks as she knocks on her boss's door.
"Come in!" he shouts.
"What's up?" Nicole asks as she walks into the office.
"I have something for you," he tells her as he reaches into his desk and pulls out a set of keys.
"My own keys," Nicole mumbles as she takes them.
"There for my cabin out in Midland," he tells her as he stands up. "Things are quiet here and you and Waverly deserve a getaway. It's almost Christmas, go be kids."
Nicole beams, "are you serious?"
"Yes everything is set up, just take that girl of yours and have fun."
"Thank you," Nicole squeals as she pulls him into a hug.
Nedley laughs as he hugs her back. "Merry Christmas kiddo," he grumbles as he pulls away with a smile.
" Merry Christmas," she replies as slides the keys into her pocket as she walks out of the station, she slides into her car as she pulls out her phone and calls Waverly.
"Hey sweetie," she hears.
"Hey where are you?" Nicole asks as she hears music.
"Shorty's," Waverly snaps her voice sounding annoyed.
"I'll be right there," Nicole tells her.
"See you soon," Waverly says before hanging up.
Nicole pulls in next to Waverly's jeep; she takes of her Stetson and tosses it into the passenger seat before walking into the bar. She sees Waverly and Wynonna talking to Dolls who is leaning against the bar.
"Am I interrupting something?" she asks as she leans against the bar, next to the agent.
"Not at all," Waverly tells her as she pulls her into a kiss.
"Gross," Wynonna mumbles.
"Did you get done early?" Waverly asks her girlfriend as she keeps her arms around her waist.
"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about," Nicole tells her.
"Don't tell me you have to work on Christmas," Waverly pouts.
"Not exactly," Nicole smirks as she pulls her outside and holds up the keys.
"Oh my God you want to move in together?!" Waverly shrieks a huge smile on her face.
"Uhhh," Nicole says.
"You don't?" Waverly pouts.
"Of course I do baby, this just isn't what the keys are for," Nicole tells her.
"I'm confused."
"It's the keys to a cabin in Midland, that's what Nedley wanted to talk to me about. We get to spend Christmas in a beautiful cabin with a hot tub and a stocked bar, all alone," Nicole says her voice filled with excitement.
Waverly beams as she takes Nicole's hands and squeezes them, "I would love too! That works out perfectly."
Now Nicole was confused.
"Doll's asked Wynonna to go away with him on Christmas, we thought you had to work so she was going to tell him no," Waverly grins as she throws her arms around her girlfriend.
"We can leave tomorrow or tonight, if you want to go."
"Of course I want to spend Christmas alone with you," Waverly grins.
"Great," Nicole smiles as the door opens and Wynonna and Dolls walk out.
"Hey so I have plans for Christmas," Waverly beams as she grabs Wynonna's arm.
"Oh?" Wynonna asks as she glances towards the red head who is smiling at Waverly's excitement.
"Care to share?" Wynonna finally asks.
"Nedley gave me the keys to his cabin," Nicole tells her as she holds them up.
"We get to spend Christmas together. Alone!" Waverly squeals the last part as she runs back over to Nicole as she jumps into her arms
Nicole laughs as she catches her.
"Well then I guess I'm free too," Wynonna mumbles as she glances at Dolls who is smirking in her direction. "Yay."
"I should go home and pack," Waverly suddenly says as she pulls away from her girlfriend.
"Right me too," Nicole smiles.
"See you later?"
"Of course," Nicole answers as she kisses her quickly before getting into her squad car and driving off.
"I'll uhh just drive us home then," Wynonna speaks up as she drags her sister towards her jeep.
"I'll pick you up at seven," Dolls smirks again as he gets in his car and drives off.
"Ughhhh!" Wynonna screams as she slides into the driver's seat.
"What's wrong?" Waverly asks her older sister.
"I don't like parents," Wynonna snaps.
"He wants you to meet his parents?" Waverly asks her eyes going wide.
"His whole family," Wynonna whines as she starts the jeep and pulls out of the parking lot.
"So it's getting serious?"
"I like him, I really do. But this is just too much."
"I can stay if you want me too," Waverly mutters as they pull into the homestead.
"No baby girl, go have fun," Wynonna waves her off as she cuts the engine.
"I don't want you to be alone," Waverly frowns as she follows her inside.
"I will have the booze," Wynonna grins as she grabs a bottle.
Waverly takes it from her, "you should go."
"Waves," Wynonna warns.
"If you really like him, like I know you do, you will go."
"And what happens if they ask?"
"Ask what?" Waverly wonders as they go to sit on the couch.
"Where are your parents?" Wynonna cries as she wipes her eyes.
"Sis," Waverly says as she pulls her into a hug.
"I don't want to fuck this up," Wynonna cries into her shoulder.
"You won't, you're Wynonna fucking Earp badass extrodner," Waverly tells her as she stands up. "And we are going away for Christmas with the two people we love the most.
Wynonna chuckles, "damn right we are."
"Let's go pack," Waverly squeals as she runs upstairs.
Wynonna just shakes her head as she follows.
Dolls and Nicole both arrive at the homestead at the same time as they nod towards each other as they walk towards the door.
Waverly and Wynonna are upstairs finishing up when they hear a knock.
"Here we go sis," Wynonna says as they grab their stuff and head downstairs.
Waverly smiles as she opens the door, "hey come in."
Dolls allows Nicole to enter first as he closes the door behind him.
"Wynonna's in the kitchen," Waverly tells him.
"Thanks," he smiles as he heads that way.
"So all packed up?" Nicole asks as she takes notice of the three suitcases.
"It's too much isn't it?" Waverly pouts.
"No of course not baby," Nicole assures her as she kisses her forehead. "I'll go put them in the car." She grabs the suitcases flashing her girlfriend a smile before heading out.
"Five brothers?!" Waverly hears Wynonna shout from the kitchen. She rolls her eyes as she walks towards the commination, she sees Dolls with his hands up as a pissed off Wynonna paces in front of him.
"I can't do this," Wynonna declares dramatically as she runs past Nicole up the stairs.
"I'll talk to her," Waverly tells Dolls as she pats his arm, she squeezes Nicole's shoulder before heading up the stairs.
Nicole and Dolls exchange awkward smiles as they both sit at the table and await their significant others return.
"Wynonna?" Waverly asks as she finds her sister sitting in on her bed.
"I'm not going," she grumbles as she picks up the stuffed bear Nicole had won Waverly on one of their dates.
"Wynonna we talked about this if you want to work, you eventually have to meet his family."
"You're lucky Nicole has no family," Wynonna scoffed as she set the bear down.
"And you can see how much it hurts her," Waverly pointed out. "Come on, you love Dolls."
Wynonna rolled her eyes, "yeah I guess I do."
"Then go," Waverly demands as she stands up and points towards the door.
"Oh take charge Waverly, do you order Nicole around like this?" Wynonna teases causing her little sister to blush as they walk back into the kitchen.
Nicole and Dolls both stand up as they enter.
"At ease," Wynonna tells them as she walks over to Dolls. "I guess I'll go," she mumbles causing him to smirk as he mouths a thank you to Waverly as they head towards the door. "Bye!" Wynonna shouts before she slams the door leaving the other couple alone.
"So ready to go?" Nicole asks.
"More than ready," Waverly beams.
"Wow this place is incredible," Waverly gasps as they both step out of the car and gape at the two story cabin. There's a wraparound porch with a fireplace as well as plenty of seating an outdoor bar, they look up to see a balcony where the hot tub resides.
"How does he pay for this?" Nicole wonders as she uses the keys to get inside.
"Holy moly!" Waverly declares as she enters the gigantic living room. There's another huge fireplace in front a massive leather couch. There are two Christmas trees, one in front of the sliding glass door and one near the kitchen.
"How?" Nicole wonders as she heads towards the kitchen, she opens the fridge to see Nedley had it stocked for them.
"Babe!" she hears Waverly call from upstairs.
Nicole walks up the stairs following the only light she sees which she assumes is the bedroom, she sees Waverly near yet another fireplace, she's reading a note. "What's that?" she asks as tears well up in her girlfriends eyes.
"It's for you baby," she tells her as she hands her the letter.
Nicole looks confused as she began to read it.
Nicole, this cabin belongs to your parents. They gave it to me as a reward for saving you. I've never used it, it's my Christmas gift to you kiddo. Sell it or keep for you and Waverly. Whatever you decide I'm behind you. Merry Christmas.
Nedley.
Nicole wiped the tears that were falling as she set the note down, "God I hate them," she mumbles.
"Baby?" Waverly as gently as she pulls her towards the king sized bed.
They both sit down as Nicole wipes her eyes. "I used to love Christmas, the lights, the food, my aunt and uncle came every year. When they died my parents disappeared, they didn't come to my graduation from the police academy, and they hated me more when I married Shae. I think a part me only married her to piss them off."
Waverly's mouth drops open at the admission.
Nicole sees he face and signs, "they found out I was gay when they caught me with my high school girlfriend, my mom was so pissed she told me to get out. So I stayed with a friend till I graduated and took the first plane to Nevada. I've always like rock climbing and I found comfort in it. I was a rookie and I got into a huge fight with my mom about it and I split, that's when I met Shae. She was a resident and we hit it off.
Waverly rubs her back, pushing down the jealousy as she waits for Nicole to continue.
"We were really drunk when we got married, and there wasn't much of a honey moon. When I got back to my room my mom was waiting for me, she wanted me to come home. I told her I was married and would be staying in Vegas with Shae we argued some more and that's the last time I ever saw my mother. I told Shae I was sorry and I split," Nicole says as tears spill from her eyes.
"Oh sweetie," Waverly cries out as she pulls her into her arms as she cries.
"I hate them so much," Nicole cries. "I worked so hard, why can't I be good enough?"
"Babe you are amazing. You worked your way up to deputy sheriff, your kind, and funny. You're my hero," Waverly swoons as she kisses her forehead as she wipes away the tears. "You're my family Nicole, and I can't wait to see where things end up for us."
"I love you," Nicole whispers as she locks eyes with the love of her life.
"I love you too," Waverly smiles as she places a light kiss to her lips.
"It's late," Nicole finally speaks up as she stands up and stretches.
"How about we take a shower, and then head to bed?" Waverly asks as she wraps her arms around her.
"Sounds perfect."
December 24:
Nicole woke up cold as she reached for Waverly frowning when she realized she wasn't there. "Babe?" she called as she grabbed her robe slipping it on as she stepped out into the dark hallway, she smiled as she made her way downstairs to hear the object of her affection singing holy night as she danced around the kitchen, she leans against the doorway as she watches.
Waverly had just turned off the stove when she notices Nicole watching her in the doorway, "you scared me babe," she says as she places her hand over her hammering heart.
"Sorry, I just really love hearing you sing," Nicole beams as she kisses her lips.
"I'm not that great," Waverly mumbles as she wraps her arms around her neck playing with the little hairs.
"Your voice is amazing baby, really," Nicole assures her as she kisses her forehead, she lets her lips linger as she enjoys the warmth her girlfriend provides.
"I love you," Waverly smiles as she kisses her again before dancing back over to the stove. "Breakfast is ready."
"I love you too beautiful," Nicole smiles as she takes the plates and forks and begins to set the table.
"So I was thinking we should try out the hot tub," Nicole whispers in Waverly's ear as she starts the dishwasher.
"I'll go get changed," Waverly tells her as she kisses her nose before walking up the stairs.
Nicole finishes cleaning before heading up the stairs; she knocks before opening the door to find Waverly on the bed pouting. "What's wrong?"
"I knew I forgot to pack something," Waverly frowns as she gestures towards her suitcase.
"We can always skinny dip," Nicole smirks as she lies beside her.
"I've never done that before," Waverly blushes as she looks down at her girlfriend.
"Only if you want to," Nicole says as she sits up and tucks a loose strand of hair behind the angel's ear.
"Of course I do," Waverly smirks as she leans over and kisses the red head deeply.
"MMM then we better get naked," Nicole smiles as she throws Waverly to the bed causing her to squeal as she sits on top of her.
"Well get to it then," Waverly demands a mischievous glint in her eyes as she smirks at the cop.
Nicole matches her grin as she slowly pulls off her shorts tossing them aside, "no underwear?"
"I like to be prepared for anything," Waverly shoots back, smiling as Nicole blushes.
She then helps take off her shirt tossing it somewhere with her shorts. "How about you go start the hot tub and I'll get us some wine?"
"Yes ma'am," Waverly says as she walks towards the bathroom, making sure to sway her hips.
"Damn," Nicole mumbles as she finally gets up and goes to retrieve some wine.
Waverly sits on the edge of the tub as she starts it; she shrugs off her towel setting it aside as she steps in enjoying the feel of the warm water as it engulfs her.
Nicole goes to the bathroom to grab a towel before walking outside; she pours two glasses of wine before handing one to Waverly.
"Thanks babe," she smiles as she takes a sip before setting it behind her.
Nicole lets her towel drop as she steps into the warm water; she smiles as Waverly moves closer. "God it's been so long since I've been in one of these," Nicole moans as she feels the tension leaving her body.
Waverly stiffens beside her, her mind instantly going back to when she kisses Rosita.
"Hey it's okay," Nicole tells her as she pulls her closer.
"No it's not; no matter how mad at you I was I shouldn't have done it."
"It's in the past and we both messed up, so for now on no more lies and no more hot remnants," Nicole smirks as she kisses Waverly before pulling her onto her lap.
Both women moan at the friction as Waverly grinds down on Nicole causing her to moan. Nicole grabs her ass as Waverly continues grinding down.
"Don't stop baby," Nicole moans as she feels her orgasm building.
Waverly grinds harder as both women moan and gasp as they cum together.
Waverly leans her forehead against Nicole's as she cups her cheeks, "I love you."
Nicole smiles, "I love you too."
"I'm going to go shower, care to join me?" Waverly asks as she runs her fingers through the red heads hair.
"I'll be right there."
Waverly kisses her again before climbing out; she locks eyes with her girlfriend before wrapping her towel around her and going back inside.
Nicole makes sure she's gone before she grabs her phone and dials the all too familiar number.
"Holla," Wynonna says after three rings.
"Hey did you get it?" Nicole asks as she makes sure Waverly hasn't returned.
"Yeah picked it up yesterday," Wynonna answers.
"Good make sure to leave it at the front door tomorrow morning."
"I will," Wynonna gripes.
"Don't forget!" Nicole scolds her.
"God I won't daddy," Wynonna teases her.
"I hate you," Nicole snaps as she steps out of the hot tub, shaking as the cold air engulfs her.
"Love you to Sheriff Haughty," Wynonna laughs before hanging up.
Nicole smiles as she hears Waverly singing along to the music coming from her phone speakers, she drops her towel as she slides open the shower door and wraps her arms around her angel.
"Mmmm hi," Waverly whispers as she turns in her arms and kisses her deeply.
Nicole smiles into the kiss as she wraps her up tighter.
"You pick a movie and I'll make some dinner," Waverly tells her girlfriend as she heads for the kitchen.
Nicole starts a fire, before grabbing some blankets and turning on the TV.
"It's almost ready!" Waverly calls from the kitchen as Nicole settles on something.
"Need any help?" Nicole asks as she walks into the kitchen.
"If you want to grab a bottle of wine, that would be great," Waverly tells her as she shuts of the stove.
"On it," Nicole salutes as she heads down to the basement where the wine rack is, she turns on the light as she walks further down, she spots the rack as she walks towards her, and suddenly her eyes are drawn to a picture.
Waverly set the plates down as she smiles at the movie Nicole picked; she begins to worry when Nicole doesn't join her. "Babe?" she calls down the stairs of the basement, she's met with nothing but silence. Fear engulfs the angel as she slowly descends the stairs. "I swear if you hurt her," she seethes as she finally sees her girlfriend staring at the wall. "Baby?"
Nicole didn't seem to hear her as she stared at the photo on the wall, as tears welled up in her brown eyes.
Waverly went to stand next to her as she too looked towards the photo, it was of a young girl of about six with fiery red hair and a huge smile carrying a teddy bear, behind her were a man and woman also sporting huge smiles.
"This was a few hours before the massacre," Nicole whispers her voice hoarse as she tries not to cry.
"I'm so sorry," Waverly says as she takes her hand.
Nicole takes the picture off the wall as she grabs a bottle of wine, she gives Waverly a small smile before motioning towards the stairs.
"I wanted to watch something familiar," Nicole tells her girlfriend as she starts The Santa Claus.
Waverly hands her a plate of food with a smile.
"Thanks babe," Nicole says as she pours them a glass of wine.
Waverly just nods. Later that night as they lie in bed, Waverly makes sure to hold Nicole a little tighter.
December 25:
Waverly woke up cold, frowning as she reached for Nicole who wasn't there. She pulled on one of her flannels as she padded down the stairs; she smiled as she smelled her favorite breakfast tofu scramble.
"Hey I was going to bring it up to," Nicole tells her as she hands her a cup of coffee as she kisses her forehead.
"You know I can't sleep without you," Waverly tells her as she takes a small sip of her coffee.
"Sorry I just had to make sure your Christmas gift arrived," Nicole says as she sets a plate of food down in front of her angel.
Waverly's eyes light up as she beams, the spell is broken when her phone rings, "hello?" she answers not bothering to check the caller id.
"Merry Christmas!" Wynonna yells into the phone causing Nicole to laugh.
Waverly's' eyes narrow, "are you drunk already?"
"What I can't be in a good mood?" her sister shoots back.
"Are you having fun?" Waverly asks curious as she spoons some food into her mouth, she sets the phone on speaker before setting it down.
"I am actually, his family isn't so bad," they hear her say as she they hear kissing noises.
"Eww gross, I'm eating," Nicole snaps as pushes her plate away.
"Oh please like you haven't defiled my baby sister," Wynonna snaps back.
Waverly and Nicole smile as they remember the hot tub.
"Ugh I'm hanging up, Merry Christmas bitches."
"Merry Christmas, they both say before the line goes dead.
"Okay sit on the couch, and close your eyes, I will go get it," Nicole instructs her girlfriend.
Waverly does as she's told as she waits for the red head to come back.
Nicole opens the door to see the present leaning against the wall; she smiles as she grabs it.
Waverly smiles as she hears footsteps approach. "Okay you can open your eyes."
Waverly eyes land on the guitar Nicole is holding.
"I know you told me you used to play and I love hearing you sing and well I thought this could be a start," Nicole rambles as she notices Waverly isn't saying anything.
"I uhhh, wow," Waverly says as she takes the guitar.
"You hate it," Nicole frowns as her she feels her heart break a little.
"I love it, it's so sweet and thoughtful," Waverly assures her as she kisses her deeply.
"Will you play something for me?" Nicole asks as she sits on the coffee table facing her girlfriend.
Waverly closes her eyes as she begins playing Silent Night.
Nicole smiles as she watches Waverly's face light up as she sings. "I love you," she whispers.
Waverly opens her eyes as they lock onto Nicole's, "I love you too." She sets the guitar down as she heads for her pants that were thrown down at some point during their love making. She grabs something from the pocket as she walks back to Nicole; she slides in to her lap.
Nicole instantly wraps her arms around her.
"So I know we haven't talked about in full detail but I really love you and it's hard sleeping without you and Wynonna adores you and well I was hoping you would move into the homestead," Waverly finally gets out as she holds up a key.
"I would love to," Nicole smiles as she kisses her.
Waverly smiles into the kiss as she tangles her hands into the fiery red locks.
Nicole grabs her butt as she lifts her up and walks her upstairs.
"MMM merry Christmas to me," Waverly moans as she lays her head on Nicole's chest.
Nicole just smiles as she runs her fingers through her hair.
