Kerori and Ameri walked down the street in silence as gray clouds rolled overhead. Rounding the corner, the two fell back after they were met with an intense heat, "Damnit, how could I have missed?" the pair looked up to see a young man around their age with pink hair standing a few feet away from them and they narrowed their eyes, "No matter, a Higher is just considered a Basic who hasn't outgrown their childhood,"

"Are you out of your mind!" Ameri snapped, "You might be a Basic Guardian, but even the Basics know not to attack in the middle of the day like that! Who the hell do you think you are?"

The young man smirked as he crossed his arms, "I am Alice Asmodeus, Guardian of Fire, swore protector of the light that gives life and I-"

"-am a complete bastard who thinks attacking a woman when their guard is down is something to boast about and feel proud of doing," the three looked up to see a young man in a black hoodie approaching them, "I had hoped at least one Basic had enough common sense not to do something so foolish, but apparently that's too much to ask for,"

Alice grunted and narrowed his eyes, "I'm sorry, who the hell are you?"

"Who am I? I am the Guardian of the Shadows, the devourer of all things light and I am seriously pissed off at a certain pink-haired son of a bitch for attacking these two lovely ladies for no reason other than being Higher Guardians and a little Basic is jealous because we have a higher status in life,"

Alice hissed before he sighed and slightly smiled as he chuckled, "The Guardian of the Shadows is just a bedtime story parents tell their children. A myth that frightened people who dared to walk the streets after dark…there are Four Basic Guardians and only three Higher Guardians. The Basics are Fire, Wind, Earth and Water, while the Higher ones consist of Lightning, Ice and even Light, the Shadows are nothing an-" before he could finish, the shadows at his feet began dancing around violently before he jumped back.

The three looked at the hooded wearing young man as Alice hummed and narrowed his eyes, "It appears I was mistaken. So why don't you ignore the other Higher Guardians and join the Basics? You've been avoiding both parties for some time now, so you must hate both Higher and Basic Guardians, but if you join me, the others will-" before he could finish, ice began forming at his feet and he fell back as he slid down the street.

The hooded figure looked back to see Kerori holding her hands out, "So…I take it you're the Guardian of Ice?"

"Kerori Crocell, Guardian of Ice," the light blue-haired young woman spoke.

The figure looked at Ameri and the redhaired Guardian took a deep breath as she crossed her arms and shook her head, "Ameri Azazel, Guardian of Lightning," the figure hummed and nodded, "And who might you be? We're aware that you're the Guardian of the Shadows, but we don't know your name,"

The figure hummed as he turned his back towards the two, "I am the Guardian of the Shadows, and that's all you're getting from me," the two narrowed their eyes as they watched as the hooded figure began walking away before he felt the cold steel of two swords on either side of his neck, "Lower your weapons,"

"And why should we? We gave you our names an-"

"I might not believing fighting a woman, but I'm not a pushover either," the hooded figure looked over his shoulder as the shadows on the ground began inching towards the two, "Lower your weapons and I won't hurt you," taking deep breaths, the two lowered their weapons and the shadows retracted, "Now if you don't mind, I'd like to go. I have a lot to do today an-"

"At least…at least come with us to see the Guardian of the Light. She was in a sour mood all day yesterday and we think it'll be better if we show her that the Guardian of the Shadows has been found," Ameri pleaded.

"Listen," he sighed and looked back, "I'm not getting involved in this petty war between the Basics and the Highers, I have more important things to worry about, like killing a couple of idiotic humans who wronged me, but…I don't know,"

"Please," Ameri pleaded again, "We're not asking you to join in this war, but we've been searching for you for the better part of the year, and we're hoping the Guardian of the Light will cheer up when she learns that we found you…or you found us," the air between the three grew still as Ameri slowly took a step closer to him, "Did you hear-"

"I heard you…I'm sorry you wasted your time, but I'm not interested in anything you have to offer," Ameri growled under her breath as she narrowed her eyes as he turned his back towards the two again, "Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be on my way,"

He began walking away and Kerori rubbed Ameri's back, "It'll be fine, Ameri, we'll just tell Clara that we found him but he doesn't want to help," the two looked up to see the young man stopped in his tracks and looked over his shoulder, "What the hell do you want?" he turned and walked back towards the two and Kerori narrowed her eyes, "Hey, you said you're not interested in anything we're doing, so why are you-"

"Maybe I was a little quick to say no…why don't you take me and introduce me to the Guardian of the Light and we'll see where it goes from there," the two, confused, slowly nodded before they walked past him and led him down the street in silence.
