Chapter Seven

Notes: The other side does not exist in this reality. Sorry it took so long to update but in return it's an extra long chapter. I hope that you have some basic understanding of Yu-gi-oh and the Mummy movie – if not Wikipedia is your friend. This is not the direction I originally planned for the story but I've decided to give up on the plan and just go with whatever pops into my head. I hope everyone enjoys it.

"Hey Nik, how are you and the kiddo?"

"Excellent Rick, my plans have succeeded, there were some complications, but all is well now. How are Evy and Alex?"

"We're good now, on our way to the airport to fly home. We found something on our last dig that I think might be safer in your hands instead of a museum. We were attacked at the site and I'd like to get it checked out, but my gut says that it's a magical artifact."

"What is it?"

"The Bracelets of Anubis."

"If I recall my Egyptian mythology those belonged to the Scorpion King."

"Yup and there's already people after it."

"Well I do enjoy having things other people want and keeping it from them. I'll take them off your hands."

"Thanks, how soon can you get to our house? We'll be home tonight."

"We're in Virginia right now. It would be easier just to make a portkey back to the townhouse and then go to your mansion."

"So Angie's still putting up with you and your crazy huh," said Rick O'Connell with a laugh.

"Now Rick I'm heartbroken that someone I consider a friend would ever insinuate that my right-hand lady would ever leave me," said Klaus with a very false note of hurt.

"Why haven't you asked her out on a date yet?" asked Rick as he watched his wife and son board the plane.

"Because I am not foolish enough to risk changing our lives for the worse," said Klaus as he watched his son play with his brother in the backyard – pranking his hybrids. Kol was enjoying teaching a magical prankster his ways while Elijah looked a cross between happy everyone was getting along and asking the universe why he was cursed to deal with another prankster in the family. Rebekah and Angelina had gone to the spa for the morning and Angie convinced the blonde that bringing Sage with them would be a good way to get to know each other.

"All right man you know I won't push I'm just saying that if you wait too long someone else is going to ask her out and she's a catch," said Rick. "I gotta go board, I'll call you once we reach home."

"Very well, I'll see you soon my friend."

"See ya Nik."

"Sounds like he's an interesting friend Niklaus."

"Eavesdropping on private conversations Elijah?"

"Rather difficult to have a private conversation in a house filled with vampires," said Elijah dryly. No one else but one of his siblings would notice the curiosity on the Originals face. "Planning on returning to England?"

"Just for a bit and I have no doubt Harry would enjoy seeing his friend again," said Klaus as he turned to face his brother. "I'll just have Angelina make a portkey once she gets back from the spa and we'll go tonight. There are a few things I want to check at the town house as well before we go to the O'Connell's."

"I think I would like to meet someone that you of all people would call friend and mean it," said Elijah as he followed his brother out of the room and down the stairs as they listened to Kol and Harry's laughter as they came inside.

"That was a good one lad," said Kol with a grin. "The memory of that wolf's face as its nose led him right into that colored powder trap will be a cherished memory for quite some time."

"He looked like he couldn't believe that the universe had betrayed him in such a way," said Harry with a giggle.

"Sounds like you boys had fun," said Angie as she walked in with Rebekah and Sage looking relaxed and refreshed from her spa day, holding her arms out for her welcome back hug from Harry.

"Welcome back ladies," said Klaus as he walked towards his nanny and son. "Looks like today went well."

"I approve of your friend Nik," said Rebekah with a smile as she also got a hug from Harry. "She's not like the usual sycophants that you surround yourself with." Rebekah had surprisingly enjoyed herself with both Angelina and Sage. Angelina was very honest in answering Rebekah's questions and had no problem explaining things about this time period to Rebekah. The Original also adored hearing stories about baby Harry. While Sage was surprisingly witty and would tell stories of the places she's been and the people she met that Rebekah was never able to do because she was always with one of her brothers. Rebekah was starting to see why her brother adored her so.

"Angie's the best," said Harry as he hugged Sage. He may have only known his aunts and uncles for a few weeks, but he knew that they all found him charmingly adorable and he planned to use it to his advantage for as long as possible. What else would you expect from someone raised by the Original Hybrid?

"Please, the day you find me acting like one of his minions is the day you need to have me checked for mind control spells," said Angelina as she stood at Klaus' right side. "I'm both a friend and an employee and I'm an actual adult unlike those idiots in town that only look like adults without an ounce of maturity. I know when I can respond as his friend and when I respond as his employee." Not to say that Angelina hadn't considered crossing the line between business and pleasure several times, but she had always refrained from doing so. The trust they had and the partnership they shared in raising and protecting Harry together was too important to risk just because at times she thought that they would be a good couple.

"From your comment I can see that you had a run in with Damon Salvatore," said Elijah as he watched his brother and nanny together. After a thousand years Elijah can definitely say that he was very good a reading people and when he looked at Niklaus and Angelina together he could see two people who cared for each other a great deal and were so scared of ruining what they had that they didn't want to risk it growing into something more. Being a matchmaker was not one of Elijah's skills, but he was willing to try his hand at it if it meant that his brother could finally be happy with someone.

"I have never met a more arrogant self-absorbed twit in my life," said Angie as she rolled her eyes. "I've taken to just cursing him silent while I'm in the area or he'll just keep on bothering me."

"It's fine with me if you want to use something a little stronger love," said Klaus as he went for a drink. "Afterall you're only bound by the contract while you're in my employee. When you're off duty you're not."

"Thanks Nik but I think I'll keep that in reserve until I really need to, after all he's annoying but not really dangerous to me," said Angie as she sat down next to Harry.

"Just keep your guard up love," said Klaus. "He's surprisingly more cunning than he appears and his obsession with the doppelganger makes him dangerous."

"Now moving past the annoyance of the Salvatores' what's this I hear about you going back to England tonight?" asked Kol.

"Dad?" asked Harry. He didn't mind going back to England. While Harry loved getting to know his aunts and uncles but he wasn't really attached to the town itself. It was very much a small town like the ones he saw in movies and tv shows and for a kid who grew up primarily in London and took vacations all over the world it was quite a culture shock.

"Not for good son or at least not yet," said Klaus as he glared at his brother while Kol just smirked with glee over annoying his brother. "Rick called me and said that they'll be back in England tonight."

"That's great. I haven't seen Alex in forever."

"Why don't you get a bag ready – I have no doubt Alex will want you to stay over at the mansion so that he can show you everything they found at the dig," said Klaus with a smile. "We can take a portkey to England after dinner."

"I'll get everything ready now," said Harry as he started to run upstairs. "I can't wait to show him all of my new stuff."

"Harry we're only going to be in England for a few days – don't pack everything!" shouted Angelina with a laugh as she watched him run up the stairs. "Kids, I'm going to have to check and make sure he didn't try and bring his entire room."

"If he does than I hope he chooses the bag with the undetectable expansion charm on it," said Klaus to Angie with a smile as she rolled her eyes at him.

"How are they?" asked Angie with a smile. "It's been far too long since we've seen them. Are they still getting in trouble?"

"Yes and that's why Rick called. On their latest dig in Egypt they found the Bracelets of Anubis."

"That is not something that should be in mortal hands Nik," said Kol seriously.

"You've heard about it?" asked Finn from where he had been talking to Sage about her trip with his sister and Angie. The eldest Original was glad that his sister was at least making an effort to try and get to know the woman he loved.

"Yes."

"Well I haven't – why don't you explain brother?" asked Rebekah. She was quite curious of what would put such a dark look in her normally carefree brother's eyes.

"It belonged to the Scorpion King," said Kol. "He tried to conquer the world 5000 years ago – it took a 7-year campaign to defeat him. He and what was left of his army were driven into the desert where they all died due to starvation and dehydration until only the king was left. Legend has it that he made a pact with Anubis – his soul for the power to slaughter his enemies. Anubis accepted his offer and made him commander of his army. After the Scorpion King decimated his enemies Anubis summoned the King to the Underworld to serve him for all time. The only thing left was his bracelets. According to legend anyone who wears them can control the army of Anubis."

"That kind of power does not come without a price," said Elijah.

"If the bracelets are ever worn the Scorpion King will arise in Ahm Shere – whoever is wearing the bracelets must reach Ahm Shere before the sun sets on the 7th day or else the bracelets will kill them."

"Fabulous," said Rebekah. Somehow someway she knew that those bracelets were going to cause trouble for her family.

"Oh, and another thing," said Kol with a smirk. "If you want command over the army of Anubis you have to kill the current commander."

"The Scorpion King," said Finn.

"Yes, and since he's spent the past 5000 years in the underworld I rather doubt he's anything close to human anymore."

"Wonderful," said Elijah with a sigh. "You have the most interesting friends Niklaus. Where did you meet them?"

"In Egypt brother, where else?" said Klaus with a smirk. "Besides those things are safer in my hands than anyone else's. I'm not stupid enough to use them."

"Hopefully," said Rebekah sarcastically. Just another powerful magical artifact to add to her brothers' collection. Both Kol and Klaus had a large collection of magical artifacts. Kol because they were magical while Klaus wanted them for the power.

"Back to Elijah's question how did you meet the O'Connell's Niklaus," asked Finn. He was quite curious since they seemed to be real friends not minions. Even though Finn had been locked in a box for centuries he knew his brother well enough to know that his real friends are few.

"We went to Gringotts in Egypt to get a horcrux removed from Harry's scar," said Angie as she thought back to the day she met the O'Connell's.

"Who in the world would be so stupid as to make a horcrux?" asked Kol in shock with the other Originals including Finn in a similar state.

"I'm sorry but what's a horcrux and why do you all look so shocked?" asked Sage. Magic was not something she was interested in even though she had picked up some things being almost a thousand years old.

"A horcrux is created by a complete idiot who want's immortality without reading the warnings or doing any research into the side effects," said Kol as he angrily took a drink. "You literally chop off a piece of your soul and place it in an inanimate object. That way if your body dies you won't be able to move on."

"The side effect of that is that you lose a proportional amount of your mind, sanity and magic to the amount of soul you lose and a horcrux won't stop you from aging just from moving on," said Finn. Reminding everyone that even though Kol loved magic the most it was Finn that had the most training from their mother. "Obviously the more you lose the less you have but how in the world would a horcrux get in Hadrian's scar?"

"That idiot Voldemort made so many that when he attacked the Potters and his own attack was reflected back, he was so unstable that a part of his soul latched onto the only living thing there," said Angelina. "After I took Nik's nanny job, I examined Harry and found the horcrux in his scar. I didn't have a clue of what it was, but Nik did, so we flew to Egypt and paid the goblins to remove it."

"When they did they said that the soul fragment was so miniscule that there had to be others," said Klaus as he remembered his fury that day. The idea of someone messing with souls infuriated the Original, that one was in his son's scar only made him angrier. "It took the goblins a few years to design a way to track the other fragments but once they did Harry's uncles and I went hunting while Harry and Angie spent time with the Halliwell's."

"His Uncles?" asked Elijah.

"They were James Potter's best friends," said Klaus with a shrug to his siblings' stares. "I wasn't willing to share custody – once we broke his godfather out of prison and rehabilitated both – but I didn't mind them being his life as long as they remembered that they're uncles not parents."

"It's a very long and complicated story and nowhere near as bad as it sounds," said Angie as she rolled her eyes at Klaus' antics. "Back to our introduction to Evelyn and Jonathan Carnahan and Rick O'Connell…"

Flashback March 2001

"How can someone be so insane as to split his soul so many times?" asked Angelina as she cuddled Harry as they left Gringotts after the ritual. The toddler was unconscious because of magical exhaustion.

"He's a complete madman love – nothing is too far for people like that," was Klaus' only comment. The Original would enjoy making the fool pay dearly for his actions once the goblins succeeded in their task of figuring out how to track the other soul pieces.

"If we could get the information out, I'm sure most of his followers would abandon him," said Angelina as they walked. "Not even the purebloods would be crazy enough to follow someone who created horcruxes."

"And they would believe us why?" asked Klaus incredulously with a mocking smirk. "No one wants to admit that they're wrong, wizards least of all. If you try, especially without proof, they'll just stick their heads in the sand and deny it."

Angelina looked away for a moment – not wanting to admit that her people were so stupid but she could not deny it. "Well maybe… do you feel that?" she asked as she looked around.

"You mean the ridiculous amount of magic in the air?" responded Klaus as his eyes glanced around, careful to make sure that he did not react. They had just left the magical center of Cairo and were back in the non-magical area. The hair on their arms was standing up. It was obvious that someone was casting a powerful spell but neither of them could tell what it was or where it was coming from.

"Follow me and keep an eye on the boy," said Klaus as he led Angie down an alleyway.

"Where are we going?"

"One thing I've learned over a thousand years is if you want to find information quickly, find the nearest bar. Someone will know something, and they won't be able to stop themselves from talking."

"That's a bit of stereotype don't you think."

"But even after all these years it still works," he said with a smirk as he held open the door. "After you, my lady."

Angelina rolled her eyes as she walked in, at least the bar wasn't a dive where she would be afraid of getting polio from sitting and Harry was still asleep.

"Now we just have to find the people who look like they're drinking to forget something," said Klaus as he headed straight for the bar, noticing two men walking up to the pair of men drinking shots.

"Well we're all packed but the earliest flight we could get doesn't leave 'til tomorrow morning. Apparently, there's some atmospheric interference and all flights are canceled tonight," said the man with an American who joined the two men at the bar.

"Tails set firmly between your legs I see," said the man pouring everyone shots with a British accent.

"You can talk you don't have some sacred walking corpse after you," said the cowboy grabbing a shot glass.

"A glass of whiskey on the rocks and leave the bottle," said Klaus to the bartender as he eavesdropped on the conversation.

"So, how's your friend?" asked the other American sitting at the bar.

"He had his eyes and his tongue ripped out. How would you be?" said the cowboy as he grabbed his drink and walked away.

"Well I think we found who we're looking for," said Klaus to Angelina as he poured himself a glass.

"How can you be sure," she asked as she looked at the trio of men at the bar. "And should you really be drinking around a toddler?"

"My dear it'll take quite a bit more than a bottle of whisky to get me drunk and the lad's sleeping like a baby. I rather doubt there's going to be any trouble from him," said Klaus with a smirk as he sipped his drink. "As for the men they mentioned their compatriot having their eyes and tongue ripped out and they're obviously fleeing for their lives from a 'sacred walking corpse'. Sounds like they woke up something sleeping in the sands that they shouldn't have."

"Good luck boys," said the cowboy as they all drank their shots before every mortal in the bar spat out their drinks. "Sweet Jesus, tasted just like …"

"Blood," said the other American as he dropped his shot glass and looked at the fountain with its water turning red.

"And the rivers and waters of Egypt ran red and were as blood," said the Englishman.

"He's here," said the American as he ran out the bar with his two companions soon following, after they recovered from the shock.

"Not a bad taste," said Klaus as he refilled his glass of blood and watched as the duo meet up with their companion. "Shall we my lady?"

"Klaus he was quoting the bible – he was talking about one of the 10 plagues of Egypt," said Angelina in shock. Her family were devoted Catholics and insisted she learnt the Bible cover to cover. "What could be powerful enough to do that or God forbid any of the other plagues."

"We're about to find out," said Klaus as they caught up to the men.

"Not so fast gentlemen," said Klaus as he sped over, grabbed all three men and slammed them into the wall. "Now you three are going to tell me everything you know about what's going on." Compulsion truly is the gift that keeps on giving though the hybrid to himself.

"Whoa!" yelled Rick as he flew slamming into Jonathan, Henderson, and Daniels. As he groggily got up all he could do was watch as the mummy walked towards Evelyn and tried to kiss her until he heard the piano. Imhotep turned around saw the cat, screamed in fear, and turned into a sandstorm to escape out the window in terror.

"I don't deny," said Klaus as the mortals turned to look at him at the door with Angelina and Harry behind him. "Even for me, that's new."

"Who the hell are you bub?" asked Rick as he got up.

"Niklaus Mikaelson but you can call me Klaus," said Klaus with a smirk. Klaus could already tell that he'd like the man – there's a certain breed of people that are fearless enough to stand up to him but not so stupid as to cross the line and the Original could already tell that Rick was one of them. "This is my son Hadrian and his nanny Angelina"

"How do you do?" asked Angelina. Even with an undead mummy running around there's no reason not to be polite.

"Could be better," said Jonathan as he tried to smile at the pretty woman as he got off the floor but couldn't.

"I've already interrogated your friends about what's going on when I tracked them down to find out who's been using so much magic that it made my hair stand up on end."

"Summoning a meteor shower would do that," said Angie as she shook her head wondering how she got herself into such situations.

"True."

"I don't mean to be rude but why are you here?" asked Evy as she moved to stand next to Rick and her brother. "And what do mean that you can sense magic?"

"It's in my best interests to help you defeat this mummy as quickly as possible," said Klaus as he stopped smirking and became serious. "He's too powerful, from a different time and obviously has no interest in keeping the supernatural a secret. Unfortunately that's not how the world works anymore and speaking as someone who lived through the witch hunts I have no intention of letting them start again. So, the sooner we can stop him the sooner we can all go back to our lives."

"What do you mean by living through the witch hunts?" asked Jonathan as he kept his sister behind him as he started taking a step back. You can say a lot about Jonathan. That he's a drunken pickpocketing gambler who's constantly in trouble but he does have good instincts and they were screaming at him that that man was just as dangerous as Imhotep.

"Comes with the territory of being a vampire," said Klaus with a smirk.

"No really that's being a bit ridiculous," said Evy. "Vampires aren't…Oh my God!" she shouted as she took a step back.

"Are you sure about that?" asked Klaus as he showed the humans his true face.

"Ok vampires are real," said Rick as he instinctively went for his guns but wasn't stupid enough to draw them. "What do you want?"

"To put that idiot back in his grave before he exposes us all," said Klaus with his fangs bared. "Now here's my proposal, here's my card when you get any new information text me an update and when you have plan to deal with that idiot call me and I'll come with some magical back up that I have no doubt will be needed," said Klaus as he handed Rick his card.

"And what price will we have to pay for your help?" asked Rick as he took the card and added the number to his cell phone.

"None – this is just in my best interest," said Klaus. He was happy that he was working with someone with a brain.

"It really is in everyone's best interest that Imhotep is defeated quickly – we can cover up what he's done so far but if too much gets recorded then we're all screwed," said Angie as she started to plan on who to contact to prepare for a major coverup. "The world isn't ready to remember that magical creatures exist. Some people will take it well, but most will freak out and a lot of innocent people will get hurt."

"I think I may know someone who can give us some answers about Imhotep," said Evy as she shook her head yes in acknowledgement of what Angelina and Klaus were talking about regarding people's reactions. And they were right, most people would panic, and the loss of life caused by that panic would be devastating.

"Good keep me updated while Angelina and I round up the troops," said Klaus as he started steering Angelina and Harry out the door. "Make sure to put a tracking charm on all of them. I want to be able to find them if anything happens."

"Done," said Angie as she kept her wand hidden behind Harry as she cast the spell. "Where to first?"

"Gringotts," said Klaus. "We'll need to coordinate with the ministry to make sure this is covered up and we'll need a team of curse breakers."

"Why are you letting those muggles help?" asked Angie as they walked back to Gringotts.

"When you get to be my age you can spot the patterns in these kinds of situations. That group were the ones who woke up Imhotep so they'll have to be involved somehow in laying him to rest. Trust me that's always how these situations work. And I rather doubt all of them are muggles. The Americans maybe but brother sister duo definitely have some power – especially if Evy was able to bring Imhotep back from the dead just by reading the incantation out loud without even believing in magic."

"How come the ministry didn't track them down?"

"There's more than one way to slip through the cracks and just because they have magic doesn't mean it's necessarily the type that the ministry tracks," said Klaus as he entered Gringotts. "Believe me my dear I've forgotten more about magic then the ministry officials in every country combined know."

Gringotts is usually the same no matter which country you are in. The goblins tellers sit at their desks looking down on wizarding kind with a sneer which the more foolish wizards return. Only the wisest know better than to upset those who are handling their money and know enough that everything is negotiable when it comes to goblins, the others usually get charge fees that they have no choice but to pay. Today there were no visitors and the goblins were running to and fro – some in armor and some in suits but all of them with a worried look on their face.

"Steelclaw," said Klaus as he walked towards a goblin in armor – head to toe covered by goblin steel and weapons.

"Lord Mikaelson," said the goblin with a nod of respect. "I'm afraid the bank is closed today. Someone is casting spells of such power that they haven't been used in centuries."

"I'm aware – that's why I'm here," said Klaus with a smirk. "I need a team of your best cursebreakers and for you to contact someone in the local ministry with a brain so that everything will be covered up."

Steelclaw and the goblins who were listening to the conversation stared for a minute before Steelclaw jumped into action. "Have conference room 3 set up and summon Alpha squad for a briefing. Send a message to Minister Atem Hasani saying that we have received information on what's going on and to get to the bank ASAP."

"Going straight to the top I see."

"There's no point of speaking a minion – a prejudiced idiot might intervene, and this is too important."

"Agreed," said Klaus. "Shall we?"

"Follow me," said the goblin as he started walking.

"Before we go any further, I would like to request that someone meet us at the conference room."

"Who would you like my lord?"

"Someone who will be staying here and is capable of watching over my son until this is over since his nanny will be coming with me. I would prefer someone who is good with children and is more than capable of protecting their charge from harm."

"I know the perfect person," said the Steelclaw with a terrifying smile on his face. Angelina couldn't tell if he was trying to be scary or if it was as natural to him as it was to Klaus. "My mate Sharpfang will be willing to watch the little one and she's deadly with her battleaxes. Do you think someone will come for the boy?"

"Probably not but I'd rather not take the chance and a war council is not the place for a boy so young."

"Quite."

The trio met up with Sharpfang and left Harry with a very heavily armed goblin who paradoxically seemed just as happy in a strange goblin way at taking care of child as they were with swinging a battleax. Angelina couldn't help but reflect on her life. A few months ago it had seemed like she'd lost everything, now she's getting ready to go fight a mummy at the side of a thousand year old vampire hybrid.

"Alright since we're all here let's get started. I don't want any interruptions until the end. This story is confusing enough without stopping every five minutes for an explanation," said Klaus at the head of the table as he went over everything they'd learned over the last few hours.

"How in the world did a bunch of foreigners find Hamunaptra?" asked Minister Atem as he tried to rub away the tension headache. He was a young cocoa colored young man with insanely colored hair – black and spiky with gold and crimson streaks held back by a golden crown with the eye of Horus on it and a matching pyramid around his neck.

"Luck or fate," said Klaus as he leaned against the table staring at the map planning his assault. "That's usually how it goes."

"Why do you wish to allow the mundanes to be involved?" asked his aide Isis who was also wearing a necklace with the eye of Horus. All the ministry officials were wearing jewelry that looked like it came from the museum and linen clothes adorned with jewels as if they had taken a step back in time thousands of years. The only difference was that the men were wearing pants with linen tunics instead of kilts or full on traditional robes.

"They started this journey when they awakened Imhotep from his grave," said Klaus as he looked up from his phone. "They must see it through till the end. They've already gotten in contact with what's left of the medjai and have figured out his plan."

"What does he want?" asked Angelina as she straightened up from leaning against the wall. She wanted the madness over as soon as possible. Their day of celebration after getting the horcrux removed from Harry's scar had turned to an insane nightmare. Angelina was just grateful that the goblins allowed them to use the time dilation room – for every hour that passed outside five passed inside. That gave the team enough time to make plans and get all the paperwork done before going into battle.

The coverup story had also been invented – a surprise eclipse that caused a firestorm due to atmospheric changes and pollution. Minister Hasani had gotten in contact with his counterpart in the Egyptian government and they were telling meteorologists and news anchors to spread the story.

"He still wants to resurrect his girlfriend – Anck-su-namun. He's chosen Evy as his human sacrifice."

"Are you kidding me?" deadpanned Angie. "All this insanity for his girlfriend?"

"Apparently after 3000 he's still in love with her."

"They were going to try and stop him from fully regenerating but when Rick and Jonathan went to find the Egyptologist who was also there when they opened the chest Imhotep attacked killing both the Egyptologist and Henderson so Daniels is the only one left."

"Which means he'll soon have the last," said Steelclaw as he chose the best cursebreakers of Gringotts to join Klaus in his assault. Normally the goblins would charge through the nose for the use of their best, but no one wanted someone out in the world powerful enough to cause a solar eclipse. The gods only knew what other powers the ancient mummy had access to.

"Yes, they're at the Museum of Antiquities to try and find out where the Golden Book of Amun-Ra is hidden. Oh and there's an army of mortals affected by the plague of boils who are now the mummy's slaves attacking the museum right now," said Klaus as the group started to move towards where the cursebreaker team was getting ready for deployment by double checking their supplies.

"You said that they found the black Book of the Dead inside the statue of Anubis," said Atem as he too started to get ready to go into battle. "Most likely the other book will be concealed inside of another statue."

"Our historians have been going through the records sir," said Isis as she looked up from her phone. "They say that the Book of Amun-Ra is inside the statue of Horus."

"Yes according to Rick that's what they found out at the museum as well," said Klaus as they reached the rest of the group. "Unfortunately, they were chased and attacked by the slaves until they crashed the car. The last of the sacrifices were consumed by Imhotep and Evelyn was taken prisoner to be sacrificed at Hamunaptra."

"How did they escape?" asked Angelina. She was worried for Evy and even though she didn't know them well she felt bad for the dead Americans.

"They met up with two of the modern medjai at the museum – one of them sacrificed themselves so that that Rick, Jonathan and the other medjai Ardeth could escape through the sewers. They're going to meet us at the airfield."

"Is everyone ready to move out?" asked Atem. There was no time to worry about possibly failing in defeating Imhotep. One way or another they would not allow the traitorous undead priest to be unleashed upon the world. Even if it meant using magic that hadn't been used in 5000 years if they couldn't find the Book of Amun-Ra.

"Yes," said the Minister's second in command and cousin Seth.

"Seth?" asked Atem. "I thought my orders were for you to stay here and coordinate."

"Well I decided to exercise my right to disobey stupid orders given by my little cousin who's feeling a little overprotective."

"Seth that last fight nearly killed you."

"Nearly but I'm healed now," said Seth with a smirk. He was a tall man with piercing azure blue eyes in contrast to his golden-brown skin tone wearing a long trench coat looking like he was more than ready for a fight. "I've watched over you since the day you were born Atem I'm not going to stop especially when we're fighting our own history."

"Don't bother trying to stop him Atem," said Vice Minister Mahad. "He's the only person in the world who's just as stubborn as you."

"Agreed, I'll stay behind and coordinate."

"Shimon," said Atem with a nod of thanks. The Minister was happy not everyone would be going with them. It was too dangerous to have all of Egypt's leaders on the battlefield.

"As will I," said Isis. "My abilities are better suited to defense anyway. If Imhotep comes back to Cairo we'll be ready with a trap," she said with a small smile. "Just in case."

"Now if that's over with let's move out," said Klaus impatiently at the door. The group of cursebreakers, aurors, and high-level ministry officials had already left the bank taking the portkey to the airfield. It was far too dangerous to even attempt to apparate or portkey directly to Hamunaptra. Ancient sorcerers had created wards preventing anyone from using magic to sneak into the city and those wards had only grown more powerful overtime.

It only took moments for the portkey to activate and take the group to the airfield. The plane was already prepped and ready for departure. All they needed to do was wait for three more people to join them. Luckily they weren't waiting long before Jonathan's car drove up to the plane.

"Boy you weren't joking when you said that you'd round up the troops," said Rick as he got out of the car with his bag of guns on his back.

"Yes, well I've always been one to go all out," said Klaus as he invited the trio inside the plane. "Strap in, get ready for takeoff and introduce yourselves."

"Bloody hell," shouted Jonathan as he held his head trying to stop his ears from ringing.

"Is everyone alright," asked Rick as he unbuckled himself from the seat. "Sound off."

"I think we're all good," said Angelina as she released the protego maxima spell she was combining with the other shield spells that were thrown up.

"Well according to the pilot the engine is fried so another plane will need to be sent for our return," said Klaus as he returned from the cockpit. "You three over here, you'll need this for when you go in."

Klaus grabbed a bag and took out 3 wrist mirrors, several trackers and other assorted magical goodies.

"Angelina's tracking charm was powerful enough that it led us straight to Hamunaptra but unfortunately the wards around the city stop it from leading right to Evelyn. The plan is to split up and report back to Isis. Each chamber you pass through place a tracker on the wall and give her a general description. She'll be able to make a map and guide us to each other."

"Got it," said Rick. Everyone else already knew the plan and how to use the trackers.

As they got off the plane and got ready to go save the world from a 3000 year old mummy obsessed with bringing his dead girlfriend back to life all Angie could do was ask herself what was she doing here. Angelina wasn't a cursebreaker or a member of the ministry – she was Klaus' nanny. Then she answered her own question, it was pretty obvious even though she'd only been around Klaus for a few weeks – this was a test from the Original. He wanted to know if he could hold her own, her reaction to stress and if she was strong enough to protect Harry.

"We found a giant treasure chamber," said Rick over the mirrors. "Bad news is that Imhotep reanimated his priests and they're chasing us. And it looks like guns only slow them down."

"Karim, Shada lead your teams toward the chamber and destroy those priests," said Seth angrily. Priests that betray their pharaoh disgusted the man – they were abominations that needed to be destroyed.

"Gringotts team 1 & 2 follow after and start cataloging and removing the treasure," said Atem. Removing treasure from a pharaoh's tomb was sacrilegious to the Egyptians but removing it from a treasure chamber that was not Pharaoh Seti's tomb in a hidden city was a neat loophole that could be exploited. "Check every piece for curses and remember touch nothing with your bare skin – just because it's not cursed doesn't mean it's not poisoned as a trap. Karim and Shado remain with the cursebreakers, Mahad take your team and hunt down those priests."

"Yes sir."

"As you command."

"Affirmative," were their responses.

"Good news and bad news people," said Jonathan. "Good news, we found Horus and we're digging for the book. Bad news is that those mummies are still coming after us – Rick bought us some time using dynamite but they're going to get through eventually."

"We're on the way," said Seth as he looked back at his cousin, Klaus and Angelina.

"You were right," said Angie as the started running towards the trio.

"I usually am love," said Klaus. He wasn't enjoying running at human speed but had no intention of running ahead and possibly activating any magical defenses without magic users to help.

"They did find the statue before we did."

"And I have no doubt they'll head straight for Imhotep when they have it so we need to get there before they do something stupid."

"Agreed," said Atem. "Isis?"

"Keep going straight and take the corridor on the left."

"Ok so I really hope you guys are close by because Ardeth decided to by us time by entering the corridor filled with mummies and now I have to close the door after him."

"Mahad?" asked Atem.

"We're close by – we should be there in a few moments Ardeth just hold on," said the priest.

"I'll be fine just go – save the girl and kill the creature!" shouted Ardeth as he charged the mummies.

"Why am I not surprised," said Klaus as he rolled his eyes and Seth scoffed.

"I just hope that he's just trying to be heroic and not suicidal," said Angie as she recalled Ardeth's reaction to meeting the Minister on the plane. During introductions Ardeth had kneeled on the floor and asked for forgiveness from the Minister. It seems that Medjai recognize a Pharaoh when they see one, even if they've been reincarnated. Atem just told him that the Medjai had done what they could and that the gods must have chosen now for Imhotep's revival for a reason. It looked like it took a great deal of strength for High Priest Seth not to say something less than charitable towards the Medjai.

"I have no intention of allowing anyone to die today other than the Creature," said Atem. "Isis?"

"You're close to where Jonathan and Rick are sir," said Isis as she monitored each group running through Hamunaptra.

"Good," said Seth as the quartet started to speed up. "The sooner this insanity is over the better."

"Agreed," said Angie.

As they ran through the corridors into the next chamber, they could hear Jonathan say, "The Book of Amun-Ra, I found it Evy I found it."

"Tell me he did not just announce that to Imhotep," said Angie.

"He did," deadpanned Seth as they stopped at the doorway seeing Jonathan at the top of a flight of stairs, Evy chained to the alter surrounded by Imhotep and his priests and Rick trying to be sneaky grabbing a sword and moving from the other side.

"Shut and get me off of here Jonathan," screamed Evelyn as she turned to look at her brother as Imhotep started to walk towards Jonathan. "Open the book, Jonathan. It's the only way to kill him. You need to open the book and find the inscription."

"Well I can't open it. It's locked or something. We need the key, Evy."

"It's inside his robes."

"How are we going to get close enough to get it?" asked Angie as she ran down the stairs.

"Hope that a summoning charm works if not vampire speed," said Klaus as he grabbed a sword and started chopping up mummies with the other boys with a smile on his face.

"Evy stay still Alohamora," said Angie.

"Oh, thank god."

"You good?" shouted Rick as he slashed his sword down cutting a mummy in half.

"For now, yes," responded Evy as Angelina helped her get off the alter.

"Ladies I think it would be best if you hid for now and when you get a chance get to the book," said Atem as he fought. When Atem and Seth destroyed the mummies with their respective weapons they stayed dead. When Klaus and Rick slashed them up the bodies they still moved until the cousins were able to destroy them.

"Agreed," said Evy.

"Works for me," was Angie's only response.

As Angelina and Evelyn started to go down the steps they could hear Jonathan speak in Ancient Egyptian, then they heard marching. Everyone looked to the other side to see even more mummies enter the chamber except these were different. Unlike the priests who were wrapped in bandages and slow moving these new mummies were armed with shields and other weapons and very obviously dangerous.

"Do something Jonathan," said Evy as everyone started to take a few steps back.

"Me?"

"You can command them."

"You have got to be joking."

"Finish the inscription on the cover, idiot, then you can control them."

"Oh right," said Jonathan as he ran to try and find a hiding spot.

As Imhotep looked at his enemies from at the top of the stairs the only thing he had to say was, "Kill them."

"How dare you command those that serve only the Pharaoh," said Seth enraged in Ancient Egyptian. "You are a complete disgrace as a high priest. How dare you betray the Pharaoh even further. If you had any honor you would have accepted your punishment instead of trying to avoid it." He was furious that the fallen High Priest was blocking his and Atem's powers. Blood and reincarnation status aside neither of them had set foot in Hamunaptra in either life and unfortunately Imhotep still had access to the wards.

"The Pharaoh is dead as is his kingdom and heirs," said Imhotep in Egyptian. "Yet I am still here and once Anck-su-namun is revived we will be together forever and I will rule the world."

Atem's only response to that statement was to roll his eyes and mutter to himself, "Great another crazy person who wants to rule the world. I do enough paperwork as Minister – if I had to rule the world, I would probably get even less sleep than I do now."

"Really cousin," said Seth as he looked over at his cousin, friend, and leader. "That's what you think about now."

"It's a valid thought," said Atem indignantly.

"Gentlemen," said Klaus to break up the argument. "Anything either of you can do about our current situation."

"Unfortunately, no," said Atem as he got ready to fight again. "When they get close enough to touch, we can overpower the spell but it seems that Imhotep has activated the ancient equivalent of magic dampeners. It's the reason why you can't speed over and just chop off Imhotep's head. No one can do major magic without his permission. If we had time, we could refigure the wards to myself or Seth once we'd found the ward stone but that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon."

"Lovely," said Klaus sarcastically. On one hand he was furious that such a tactic was being used on him but on the other hand he hoped that there would be enough time to learn how to create magical dampeners for his own use. With some modifications to make sure that he's not affected again. "Though that answers some questions."

"If we try and break wards this old we could accidentally destroy the entire chamber."

"Of course," deadpanned Angie as she backed up with Evy. "And things just keep getting better and better."

As the undead Medjai started moving up no one noticed Anck-su-namun creep up behind Evy until the mummy screeched as she swung her knife.

"Run Evy," said Angie as she grabbed Evelyn's hand to pull her along.

"Ahhh!" screamed Rick at the top of his lungs as Klaus looked over and shook his head. Then they all scattered as the mummies split into groups of three. Each group coming after one of them.

"Hurry up Jonathan," screamed Evy as she and Angie dodged the knife wielding mummy as her boyfriend looked down at his enemies fighting for their lives. Smiling and enjoying the show.

"I can't figure out this last symbol."

"What does it look like," asked Atem as he fought the undead Medjai. When one got close enough to touch he was able to undo Imhotep's control long enough to command it to attacks its brethren.

"A bird, as stork," clarified Jonathan.

"Ahmenophus," shouted Seth as he destroyed the mummies using the power of the Millenium rod to either disintegrate his opponents or just slashing through them.

As Jonathan completed the spell the mummies stopped their assault and stood at parade rest with their weapons held up ready for their next order. Imhotep tried to take back control, but they ignored the undead priest's orders and obeyed Jonathan's command to destroy Anck-su-namun to Imhotep's horror. As the undead Medjai tore his lover apart Imhotep tried to strangle Jonathan until Rick cut off his arm. In return Imhotep turned around and threw Rick down the corridor and put his arm back on.

"Evy," said Jonathan as he rubbed his neck and held up the key. "I've got it."

It was a good thing Imhotep doesn't speak English was what was running through Angie's mind as she and Evy ran towards Jonathan.

"Keep him busy!" shouted Evy as she opened the Book of Amun-Ra.

"Not a problem love just find that spell," said Klaus as he chopped off Imhotep's other arm and moved Rick away. The four of them worked together to keep Imhotep distracted. Thanks to the magic of the millennium puzzle and rod limiting his powers Imhotep wasn't able to use his full powers either due to proximity but he was still an undead monster and very strong.

"Hurry Evy, hurry," said Jonathan as he watched Imhotep fight the others.

"You're not helping," said Evy in a sing song voice as she frantically tried to find the spell.

Angelina felt utterly useless as all she could do was watch. "If we live through this I swear I'm going to learn ancient Egyptian."

"It really is more useful than most people would think," snarked Evy in response. "I've got it!"

As Evelyn recited the incantation Imhotep turned around in horror as a ghostly chariot carrying Anubis came down the steps heading right for him. The chariot passed through him and next to the driver was a ghostly version of Imhotep reaching out of the chariot for his other half as the priest ran up the stairs shouting.

"I thought you said it was going to kill him," said Rick as he got his sword ready for another attack. Imhotep walked right to him and Rick stabbed him with the sword for the 10th time. Every other time the priest shrugged it off, the undead body feeling no pain, but this time was different - he started bleeding.

"He's mortal," was Evelyn's response as Imhotep started backing away into the black pool behind him.

Imhotep was losing his human form and turning back into a corpse as the souls of the underworld dragged him down but before the end he said, "Death is only the beginning."

"Thank the gods it's over," said Angie as she looked over at Klaus. "Is everyone ok?" But before anyone could respond the ceiling started to move down.

"Time to go," said Rick as he grabbed Evy's hand and started to run.

"Isis send out the evacuation order and find us the fastest way out of the city," said Seth as he started to run.

"Everyone is out – your group is the last," said Isis as she plotted the course. "Just follow the glowing blue signs and you'll be out in five minutes"

"Fantastic," said Atem. "Is everyone alright?"

"Some minor injury's because some people touched things they shouldn't have but no deaths. Now hurry."

"I agree with the lady let's not tarry here," said Klaus as he picked up Angie in a bridal carry to vamp speed her to the exit. Thankfully with Imhotep dead again his spells were undone and the Original had access to his full powers again.

Angie looked back as they went through the door when she heard Evy shout at her brother after he tripped and dropped the book in the water, "You lost the book, Jonathan I can't believe …"

"Hurry/Come on," were Jonathan and Rick's response as they went back to drag her out.

The way out was through the treasure chamber and Jonathan could be heard asking if they could take moment to grab some treasure before being dragged along by Rick and Evy out of the city.

Rick, Evy and Jonathan were the last to leave the city – the sounds of the city collapsing into and explosion of sand as their soundtrack as they ran for their lives to the wall where everyone else was waiting for them.

Present Day

"And that was how we met Rick, Evy and Jonathan," said Angie as she moved around the London townhouse gathering the things Klaus wanted to bring back with them. "Ardeth survived his fight with the mummies thanks to Mahad – the treasure was divided according to the contract – the trio got some thanks to the finders fee that I insisted was in the contract since they were the ones to discover the city. Rick and Evy got married, eventually had Alex and used the money to fund their digs while Jonathan gambled his share away and everyone lived happily ever after."

"That is the most insane story I've heard in years," said Elijah as they sat in the parlor.

"If it wasn't for the fact that Angie was the one telling the story I'd think you were just messing with us Nik," said Rebekah.

"Would I do that sister?" asked Klaus as he smirked while all his siblings turned around to stare at him, Sage had stayed behind at Mystic Falls. "You're right I would be this story is 100% true. Ever since then I've kept in touch with the O'Connell's and not just because they have a son that's a good playmate for mine."

"Yes, Harry did seem excited to apparate over," said Kol with a little jealousy in his tone.

"Harry's known Alex since the day he was born," said Angie with a smile. "Klaus and I are Alex's godparents, so the boys are very close. They see each other as brothers and they love sharing the adventures they go on with their parents."

"Those boys do live rather adventurous lives compared to anyone else," said Klaus with a real smile.

"And they love every second," said Angie with a laugh.

"What in the world," said Klaus as his phone rang. "Why is Rick calling me? We just dropped Harry off 20 minutes ago."

"They couldn't have gotten into trouble already?" asked Angie.

"Hello?"

"Hey Nik," said Rick on speakerphone. The Originals could hear the sounds of a car driving with several people around him. "You remember those bracelets I wanted to pass along to you?"

"What did they do?" deadpanned Niklaus. You try as hard as possible as a parent to teach your child common sense and thinking about the consequences of their actions but sometimes boys will be boys.

"The boys decided it would be a good idea to put them on and now each one has a bracelet stuck to their wrist. Ardeth says that in doing so they could have started the chain reaction to bring about the next apocalypse."

"Ardeth?" asked Angelina as she sat up and looked at everyone in the room in shock. "What's he doing here?"

"He was on the trail of the people who dug up Imhotep and the two Books from the ruins of Hamunaptra. He followed them hoping they would lead him to the Bracelets. Apparently their plan is to kill the Scorpion King and use the Army of Anubis to take over the world."

"Fabulous," deadpanned Angie. Even after all these years at Klaus' side she still couldn't understand why anyone would want to be in charge. It meant doing a lot of paperwork to make sure that everything's good and a lot of stress to stay on the top.

"It gets better," said Rick. "They attacked the house."

"Is everyone alright?" asked Angie as she started to get worried. "Harry? Alex?"

"We're fine Angie," shouted Harry in response. He never wanted to worry Angie. Harry saw his dad as an undefeatable warrior who never worried and always had three dozen plans to make sure everything was to his advantage and taught Harry to think like that as well – setbacks were just obstacles that needed to be overcome and learning experiences to do better. Angie was the one who worried about normal things.

"They boys are fine but Evy got kidnapped. The person in charge is the curator of the British museum – we're going there to rescue her can you meet us there."

"Yes we'll be there," said Klaus as he watched his siblings get up off their chairs and get ready to go.

"Alright see you there. If we get there before you Ardeth and I are going in to try and rescue Evy. The boys will be staying with Jonathan and the car."

"But Dad/Uncle Rick," could be heard shouted in the background.

"But nothing you two are too young to be fighting mummies and guys with guns & swords who have no problem attacking kids got it."

"Cheers mate," said Klaus as he headed for the door with his family.

"See you soon Nik," said Rick as he hung up.

"Angie can you apparate or make us a portkey?" asked Klaus as the Mikaelson's got ready.

"Unfortunately, no," said Angie as she checked to make sure there was plenty of supplies in the undetectable expansion bag. "The museum has tons of anti-teleportation wards a couple blocks away to make sure no one breaks in. I'll have to drive us there."

"You," asked Klaus with his eyebrow up.

"Yes because my car is the only one here with expansion charms so everyone can sit comfortably and you hate driving my car so just get in."

"Anything we should expect?" asked Finn. The eldest Original still wasn't comfortable with cars and other modern technology but he was adapting quickly.

"If they manage to raise Imhotep before we get there we'll probably have to fight those mummy warriors again. Tear them apart into small enough pieces that they can't control a large enough piece to attack."

"Fire will help with that," said Angie as she drove as fast as she could. "If you can buy me a second or two I can set them on fire."

As Angelina stopped at the intersection and waited for the lights to change, she could hear the sound of a vehicle going too fast and people shouting. "What in the world?" she asked as she looked right.

"Nik?"

"Yes?"

"Tell me that I didn't just see that."

"You mean Jonathan driving a double decker bus like a madman with Evy and the children standing behind him while Rick and Ardeth are in the back shooting at the mummies chasing them."

Notes: Thanks to everyone who followed and review this story and I'm so story I didn't finish the chapter earlier. I hope everyone is safe during this crazy time and that the chapter alert will make you smile. Just to clarify the Bracelets of Anubis are a set of 2 now – each boy has one on their wrist. I've decided to turn this story into a massive crossover and will update the tags depending on each new part I decide to add in.
