Chapter 5:

When the chaos had calmed down and Dylan and I had met all of the five Jacksons the children were sent to their rooms. Even though Percy and Annabeth had a hard time getting Silena to leave her new best friend Dylan, she too also retired to her room.

Liam had decided to stay outside and as he said, "Keep watch over everyone just incase any monsters decide to follow our trial."

When Dylan was comfortable on the couch and I stood off to the side Annabeth began to ask us questions, "First off, who are you?" she pointed at Dylan but also glanced at me after she asked her question so I figured she wanted both of us to answer.

Dylan went first, "I'm Dylan Matthiou, not the kid or whoever you thought I was."

Annabeth's face turned red but she turned to me, "I'm Mya, Mya Gethern." that all I said to her.

Percy spoke up from the kitchen, "Tell us what happened."

I told them what happened with Dylan chiming in along the way to offer his point of view, but eventually, we finished our story of what had happened this morning. Throughout the whole story, Percy and Annabeth never interrupted us instead they just listened like they've done it millions of times before.

After a few seconds of silence after we finished Annabeth spoke up, "What is your friend's name?"

"Liam but I wouldn't he say he's really my friend even though I refer to him as one. I mean I don't even know the kid's last name." I spoke confidently.

"His last name is Cirillo. Yes, I know what it means too just like I know what my last name means." Dylan said quietly. Annabeth and Percy just starred at him shocked but he continued to talk, "Liam's last name means 'lordly' or 'masterful' and it's greek. I've noticed before and thought it was strange but I mean it's his last name so I never thought anything of it until today after he was called 'Lord' twice. While my last name, Matthiou, is also greek and means 'a gift from the gods or a god.'"

A few minutes of silence passed while I tried to wrap my head around what Dylan had said about Liam's last name. When did Dylan have time to ask Liam his last name? I mean from what I know about Dylan he only hung out with Liam when I was with them but turns out I might not know my best friend as good as I thought I did. He seems to know all of these crazy things that I've never even heard him talk about before, but how?

"Dylan, I know that this might sound weird but I have a theory, and it can only be proven true if you show me the skin under your left arm," Annabeth said quietly as if she knew something that the rest of us didn't.

"Annabeth don't do this you know if it is really him he won't remember anything and it won't make it any easier for you," Percy spoke to her gently while he placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I know I just want to see if it is really him," she responded back to him.

Dylan stared blankly at them and with a sigh he lifted part of his shirt up so that a faint scar was shown from underneath his left arm. Annabeth gasped and stared at him for a minute before muttering something underneath her breath. Then she got up and walked out of the room with tears in her eyes.

Percy sighed a long sigh and muttered something about her being able to make it through hell alive but not being able to face someone named Luke. I'm guessing he was the same guy that Silena had told us about considering that she told us supposable Luke looked just like Dylan.

Percy looked at the two of us and said, "If you would like you can stay for lunch, meet the kids, and later we can take you guys to somewhere where you're safe from monsters."

I decided to get some answers to all of the questions I had, "Ok I'm sorry but monsters aren't real, and honestly all of you are starting to sound a little insane can you please explain what is going on?" I was fed up with being cut loose and hung dry all-day. Everything had happened so quickly and all of these people and things expected me to know what they were talking about.

"I'm also a little confused because I know somethings when people say certain names or places, but I don't know how I know them because I don't remember having any memories of them," Dylan admitted.

Percy stared at him but decided to explain what was going on, "Ok I know this is going to sound crazy but those things you've seen today well they are actually monsters, and now that I'm thinking about it you both look well over the age of 12 so that means the gods broke their promise once again." Dylan and I just stared at him blankly but he continued on, "They are greek monster like from those myths you studied in like 6th grade. Both of you are half-bloods mean half-human-"

"And half-god." Dylan interrupted.

"Yes." Percy stared at him not bothering to hide his confusion, "As for your question Dylan well I'll let Annabeth explain when she's ready because we could totally be wrong and it could be a coincidence that you look like-"

"Like Luke." Again Percy was interrupted but not by Dylan instead by Annabeth, "It is no coincidence, Percy, it's him I know it's him. He doesn't have the scar but that doesn't mean it's not him. He was a hero remember so he's trying for the Isles of the Blest. I know Luke I know he would try if he was given the chance… he would try and make up for his mistakes." Annabeth's voice quivered like she was about to burst into tears. And from the painful expression on her face, it looked like she was. Percy got up from his seat and rushed to her side, but Annabeth pushed passed him and came closer to Dylan and me.

She looked at Dylan and it seemed to put her in more pain then she was already in but she spoke up and said, "We'll get you two to camp I promise it will help, and I know it's hard to wrap your mind around all of this right now but it will make more sense soon. Also, I have some things I would like both of you to look at." she seemed to be mostly talking to Dylan but I came closer to see whatever she wanted to show us. From underneath the small coffee table in the small living room, she pulled out a black box. When she pulled off the lid of the box Dylan gasped when he saw what was inside.

Inside the box sat not only photos of who I'm guessing was Luke, but also a dagger. I don't know what the dagger was made out of but it shinned brightly, and somehow I knew there was a dark story behind this knife. The knife seemed to speak to me urging me to ask about it's past of betrayal and hurt.

"I know that knife. I've seen it before and Annabeth I know you. I don't know how or really remember but I did something to you I hurt you." Dylan said scared.

Annabeth turned around and looked at Percy, and it seemed a mutual agreement was come to.

"That knife Luke gave it to me when I was seven. I not only wanted to show you this knife to see if you maybe remember it, but I also want to give it to you. The knife is said to protect anyone who is wielding it, and considering the places I've been with it I think it's done a pretty good job." Annabeth continued on, "You're not really him so you shouldn't be blamed for the things he did, but I think it's good for you to have something he held onto so closely. I wish I could give you more but everything else Luke would want from me that's gone the person Luke wanted she's gone now." She turned around and smiled at Percy.

"Thank you so much, and I know I'm Luke but I'm not, but I'm sorry for whatever I - he did that hurt you so much." Dylan said while looking down at the floor.

Annabeth smiled at him and spoke calmly and softly as if she didn't want to upset anyone in the room, "There is no need to apologize for something he's already apologized for. Luke was as good as any hero, so why don't you be better!"

I don't know if I like the way I ended this chapter really, but I think it's kind of needed to let the reader know that Annabeth is over what Luke did to her and how he used her. Anyways I'm thinking two chapters will be out before Thursday so that should be fun. Also, I'm thinking about making the chapters that I write in the future long like a lot longer because they're going to be more action-packed with the way I'm heading with this story so let me know what you think.
