Chapter 6:
Annabeth's POV:
How? How did he get a ticket to try again at life so soon? He shouldn't be here! After every one, he hurt the last time he was in the Overworld what could he possibly do this time that could be any worse? Was there anything that he could do?
Lost in her thoughts she didn't seem to hear the bedroom door creak open and she almost jumped out of her skin when she heard a small voice say, "Mommy?"
She turned around and saw all three of her children behind her. As she sat in her chair at her desk she looked at her children. The oldest, Silena, her blond curls resembled Annabeth's own, her eyes were a mixture of green and grey like both her's and Percy's just at nine years old she always blew Annabeth away with how smart she was. Her son, Ethan, stood next to his sister he stood proud like his father, and he looked just like Percy except his eyes were dark grey, they could almost be described as black but they weren't that dark, and he was seven. Her final child stood back near the door as if there was danger lurking in the room and she was ready to either help her siblings or make a run for it.
"Come here Bianca," the dark-haired girl came forward, she also looked like her father with her black hair and sea-green eyes, but she wasn't as confident as Percy and Ethan, she was five yet she was probably the most athletic looking out of her children with her slim but muscle built body.
"Who are the people that are here mommy?" Ethan asked her.
"They're…." How should she tell her children that one of them was apart of her first real family? "Well, we're going to help them get to camp."
As soon as she said camp all three of her children turned towards her and all asked at the same time, "Can we go too?"
Of course, they would ask if they could go as well they loved camp, and to be honest they were celebrities at camp. Their father was Percy Jackson and they lived up to the last name. They were also named after three of the most important heroes Percy and her had ever met.
"Yes, suppose we all could use a trip to camp." with that all three of the children ran out of the room hopefully going to pack their bags for the next few days at Camp Half-Blood.
Once again, she was left by herself to think. Luke, he found a place where he thought the grass was greener, and he jumped the fence to the other side. He thought he was free from the life he left behind but he wasn't. Yet, he thought that he was receiving a world that she could never provide.
"Hey, you ok?" Percy was now in the bedroom and he looked concerned with her concerned facile expression.
"I hope he was proud of his 'big' decision. You know I hope it was all that he wanted and more because he was 'free' from the agonizing life he was living before." she somehow spoke calmly.
"Annabeth… Annabeth… Annabeth come down, won't you get up off the roof?" Percy asked her.
"He said what he needed to say so that he could just walk away. It would've killed him to stay 'trapped' when he got something new. Well I'm sorry he 'had it rough' and I'm sorry 'I wasn't enough.' Thank gods they rescued him!" she now spoke with more power.
"You're scaring us, and all of us. Some of us love you. Annabeth, it's not much but there's proof." Percy looked more concerned and spoke more gently as if he could bring her down from her rant, but he couldn't Luke had hurt her so bad she needed to get this out.
"So he got what he always wanted so he got his dream come true good for him! Good for him! He got a taste of a life so perfect so he did what he had to do! Good for him! Good for him! Did it even cross his mind to be slightly sorry? Did he even care that he might've been wrong? Was it fun? Well, I hope he had a blast while he dragged me along! He said what he needed to say and he played who he needed to play! Yet, if someone was in his way he would crush them and leave them behind!" she was almost in tears but it needed to be said.
"We start with stars in our eyes, we start believing we belong, but every sun doesn't rise, and no one tells you where you went wrong! Step out, step out of the sun if you keep getting burned! Step out, step out because you've learned!" at this point Percy was pained by what she was saying and how it affected her but she went on.
"When you're falling in a forest and there's nobody around do you ever really crash, or even make a sound?" she asked him with a sob, "Did I even make a sound? Did I even make a sound? It's like I never made a sound! Will I ever make a sound? Because when the villains fall, the kingdoms never weep! No one lights a candle to remember! No, no one mourns at all when they lay them down to sleep! So, don't tell me that I didn't have it right! Don't tell me that it wasn't black and white! And after all, he put me through, don't say it wasn't true! That he wasn't the monster that I knew!" With one final sob, she said everything she had to say, and she collapsed in Percy's arms.
"Annabeth… Annabeth… Annabeth come down, won't you get up off the roof?" he asked quietly while confronting her.
MoonlarkOfThe7- Did she lose her knife in Tartarus? She might have I can't remember now. Thank you for enjoying the story! :)
Yes, I know there will not be two chapters out like I thought I was going to be able to write. I'm sorry I just didn't have time this week. I used four songs in this chapter because I felt like they worked good with what I was trying to explain so you should go listen to them (Good for You, Waving Through a Window, Requiem are all from the musical Dear Evan Hansen, and I used Achilles Come Down) none of those songs are mine, and yes I mixed up the words a little bit. Hope you like the story!
