"How have you been Kara-chan?"
Ookurikara didn't answer.
"You look good, have you been eating well?"
Mid afternoon light shoned its way through the window of a hospital ward and onto a pair of figures sitting down inside, they sat facing each other with a table separating them. One of them had fair skin, dark hair, and an eyepatch, while the other was brown skinned with brown and red hair.
"This place is nice, it's completely different from those hospitals in the movies." The ravennette continued talking.
The brown skinned man didn't say anything, then suddenly he spoke, "... How is your eye?"
"The doctor said I might not be able to see through my eye properly again." The ravennette gestured to his eyepatch. "It's fine, I'm starting to get used to it. Sada-chan said I look much more cooler than before now." He laughs.
"I see..." Ookurikara looks away.
"Kara-chan is everything alright? Please come out of your room soon."
"Kara-chan, you didn't finish your meal again..."
"Did you sleep well last night Kara-chan? That's good! A good night's rest is good for your health."
Annoying.
Noisy idiot.
If only there was a way to shut you up for once.
"Ka- Kara-chan... What are you doing? Let me go! Stop!"
"How did you find me?" Ookurikara asked again.
"Well, the truth is Tsuru-san's sort of hacked your phone to find your location." The ravennette answered, then quickly added, "But please don't get mad! I was the one who asked him to find you!"
He looks towards Ookurikara across the table, carefully watching for his reaction.
He fiddles with his fingers. "When I came back, your room was empty, you didn't leave any notes or messages, and I wasn't able to contact your phone, so I went to Tsuru-san's place..."
Why is he acting so guarded?
He has known Ookurikara for a long time, he wouldn't hurt him.
He wouldn't.
"I think I found Ookurikara."
"You did? Where is he?"
"It appears that he is in a mental institution..."
"A mental institution? What is he doing in a mental institution?!"
"I'm not sure but, maybe it's best if we leave him alone."
"Tsuru-san-"
" Look, I know you care about him Mitsutada, but Ookurikara needs to get some professional help. I mean, he burned your eye!"
Mitsutada didn't retaliate.
"I know you probably don't want to see me, but I just need to make sure that you're okay and-" Suddenly, Mitsutada's phone went off. "I'm so sorry, please wait a minute." He reaches into his bag to grab his phone, he gets up from his chair to pick it up.
He turned his back from Ookurikara and speaks in a hushed tone to the caller. He quickly ended the call after a few seconds, when he sit back down there was a crestfallen expression on his face.
"I'm sorry Kara-chan, I have to go to work, but i'm glad I was able to see you, I hope we can talk again soon someday." Mitsutada's smile at the end felt like a dozen knives stabbing Ookurikara's heart all at once.
He gets up and heads for the door, but before he could leave, Ookurikara shouted, "Wait Mitsu- !"
"Kara-chan! Let me go! Stop!"
Ookurikara blinks. The image of Mitsutada clutching his blistering eye, staring up at him with a fearful expression, immediately dissapears from his vision.
"No, it's nothing. Never mind." He retracts his hand.
Mitsutada smiled at him again. "Get well soon, okay."
Ookurikara sits back down, it was only after Mitsutada left the room that Ookurikara finally lets out a cry of agony.
He clutches his head in his hands, and tears starts to fall from his eyes as he mutters out words of apologies and regrets alone in the empty room.
