A/N: Thanks to my reviewers.
Their time in Canada flew by and sooner than any of them wanted Jade and Beck's vacation was over and it was time for them to go home.
"I can't believe that today is already our last day here." Jade mused when they stood on the porch, which had become her favorite spot in the house.
"Just admit that you love Canada." Beck smiled brightly.
"I wouldn't go that far, but its off of my 'what I hate list'." That was as good as admitting that she really loved Canada and enjoyed her time here and they both knew it.
They stood there for a while in silence, his arms around her and she leaning against his chest. She had to admit that she would miss Canada. Here it had been just the two of them and his grandparents, it was peaceful and despite that she missed her friends and family back in L.A. she wished that they could stay here longer. When she had arrived here to meet his family for the first time she had thought that she was right all along and his family hated her and the trip would be horrible. Most of his family really didn't like her, but she had met two amazing people who accepted her for who she was, just like Beck did. Mary and George had not judged her by her appearance or behavior, but had taken the time to really get to know her and in the end she had made a real connection with them. She grew to trust and like them and she would miss them when Beck and her were back in L.A.
Beck was deep in thoughts as well. Their vacation had started rocky and he knew the reactions from most of his family members had hurt Jade, but then his grandparents had stepped in. Beck always had a good relationship with his grandparents, but after this vacation he could say that he was even closer to them than before. They were the only ones from his family that had taken the time to really get to know Jade and they had realized the special connection they shared. He was glad his grandparents could see that Jade and him truly loved each other and wanted to stay together.
Tightening his arms around the amazing girl who he got to call his girlfriend, Beck thought that he was thankful that she had decided to come with him. He knew how skeptically she had been and that she had predicted that his family wouldn't like her, but in the end she had come with him because she loved him. She had been willing to see his home country and meet his family because she knew that it was important to him. The weeks here in Canada hadn't always been easy for her, but she had still stayed for him. Now it was his time to tell her that not only their time here together, but that she even came with him to Canada in the first place, meant a lot to him.
"Jade?"
"Hmm?" It seemed that she had been in deep thoughts as well.
Turning her gently around in his arms so that she was facing him, he looked deep into her eyes.
"Thank you for coming to Canada with me. I know some of my family members didn't make it easy for you and I'm sorry for that, but it really means a lot to me that you were willing to meet them. I love you, I really do."
Jade looked into his warm brown eyes and saw the emotions he had just expressed with words shine in them. It hadn't always been easy, but one thing that had never changed was their love for each other.
"I love you too." She replied and a second later they kissed lovingly.
While Jade didn't bother to say her goodbye to Beck's aunt or the rest of his relatives that had been just awful to her, saying goodbye to Beck's grandparents was hard. Beck's parents would come any moment now to pick them up for the long drive home, so it was time to say goodbye.
"It was great meeting you Jade." George said to her when the four stood in the doorway and Jade could see that he really meant what he had said.
"You're alright too George. I think I might like more than one Canadian now." Jade answered with a honest smile.
The embrace that followed her words was wholeheartedly returned by her. George was a great man and he treated his wife the way a real gentleman would. Jade could count the men in her life who she respected on one hand and George was now one of them. He reminded her a lot of Beck and she could see from whom he got his hopeless romantic ways.
After they pulled away Jade turned to Beck's grandma.
"Thanks for letting me stay here with you guys. It really meant a lot to me." Jade hardly thanked people, but when she did she meant it with all her heart.
"It was our pleasure. You're welcome here anytime and I mean it." With that Mary embraced Jade and she returned the gesture.
Mary was a great old woman, Jade mused. She was very headstrong and independent, but still loved her husband deeply even after all those years. The way Mary had spoken up for her and that she had been the first one to offer her to stay with her and George was something Jade would never forget.
Beck watched Jade say her goodbye to his grandparents with a small smile on his face. He could tell that it wasn't easy for her to leave and that only meant that she liked his grandparents and enjoyed her time in Canada. This thought and the picture of his girlfriend and grandparents made him happy.
After Jade had let go of George, he approached Beck.
"You chose wisely. Make sure to never let her go, she is truly an amazing young woman." George advised his grandson.
"I know and I'll treat her right." Beck answered and hugged his grandpa goodbye.
People were right when they said his grandpa and him were similar in a way, both of them loved the women in their life deeply and wanted to do everything they could to make them happy. He could still learn so much from his grandpa and he was thankful for the time he got to spend with him here.
When they pulled away Beck went over to his grandma.
"Thanks for everything."
"You don't have to thank me. I loved having you two here with us. Take good care of Jade, she deserves to be happy and so do you." With that Beck enveloped her in a hug.
With a last goodbye Beck and Jade stepped out of the house together, their hands intertwined and with a small smile on their faces. Beck's parents were already waiting for them in the car and after they had loaded everything in the car they drove off.
Beck looked back at his grandparents house where they still stood watching after them and tightened his arm around Jade. He would never forget their time together in Canada and he had a feeling that this had been exactly what they needed, now their relationship was stronger than ever.
Jade followed his eyes and saw Mary and George waving at them. They were amazing people and the best couple Jade had ever met. Their time here in Canada was one of the best she ever had and she would forever cherish it. When she felt Beck's arm tightened around her she looked up at him and they smiled at each other before he leaned down for a soft kiss. Jade had been skeptical about coming here, but now she could admit to herself and Beck that she would miss Canada and the two amazing people she had met here.
Both looked back one last time at the house and the old couple standing in front of it. They would come back here, after all their time in Canada had been very meaningful to them and had shown them once again how much they loved each other.
