Latin City continued to be sing and dance to the rhythm of the night, even when the sky was well dusked and the shadows had gotten long and hard. The group eventually made their way to a large nut tree covered with lanterns and moss, which served as protection for the pods hanging from the branches. Speaking of which, Branch himself had to appreciate the safeguards placed for the citizens.
"Okay, amigos," Diogo turned to face the group, "Welcome to my home. Just to let you know beforehand, the king and princess may ask you all a few questions. We won't judge you, but we need to know the information you have before we decide to do so, all right?"
"Got it," Poppy nodded.
"Perfectly not confusing," Trollex huffed.
Diogo turned back and pushed open the double doors, prompting the heavy scent of wood to smack them in the faces and the group to wrinkle their noses at the unfamiliar smell. The only ones who weren't affected by the fragrance were Tresillo, Marimba, Tambora, DJ, Diogo, and (oddly enough) Wani. They were also the first ones to notice the room was not darkened, but rather strategically lit to showcase specific spots surrounding them.
"Lucas! Dulce! Are you two home? Voce esta em casa?"
No matter how loud he shouted, no matter how hard he projected... Diogo got no response.
"Maybe we should come back later...?" Trollex shrugged.
"I wouldn't worry," Marimba waved his worries as Tambora walked past her.
"Yo!" Tambora tried her hand at loud projecting, "Lucas, Dulce! Dulce, Lucas! Tresillo, Marimba, and I are here!"
. . .
"And I suspect you brought company for the visit?" A male voice echoed from the shadows.
"You suspect correct, cuz," Marimba crossed her arms, "Now come out."
"Very well."
One moment of flapping later, and another avian Troll landed gracefully on the ground in front of them. A sole spotlight shone on him, giving a good view of him for the combined Troll group not part of Reggaeton. He was a deep shade of royal blue with lush feathers that, judging by the patterns within, resembled colorful eyes. His hair feathers was tightened at the base with a light blue hairtie while his tail feathers were dragged on the ground; both sections of feathers were long, dangling, iridescent, and aquatic/peacock-evocative. His primary outfit was a white translucent, knee-length beach kimono that was adorned with a picture of a color distorted beach with waves; he wore no pants or shirt, but rather a crystal necklace around his neck, a clear hint of his royalty.
"There you are, Lucas," Diogo smiled warmly as he approached him to deliver a side-hug, "Now where's your sister?"
"Good to see you too, primo," Lucas returned said side-hug, "She's...around."
"For those confused," Tresillo whispered to the group, "Primo is Spanish for cousin."
"Speaking of which..." Tambora cracked her neck, "Seriously, Lucas, where is your sister?"
"Seriously, Tambora," Lucas shrugged, "She's around...possivelmente dando um amasso com seu novo namorado...ou namorada."
"Que?" Marimba shoved her friend aside, almost knocking her down, "¿Y nunca se te ocurrió decirnos esto?"
"Claro que não," Lucas crossed his arms, "Não parecia importante na época."
"¡¿No es importante?!" Tambora gasped in shock before she shot an angry scowl at Lucas, whom she engaged in petty squabble soon after. All the while, the non-Reggaeton group watched on in equal parts confusion and amusement. Tresillo once again stepped aside to explain.
"Marimba and Tambora are huge romantic fanatics, Dulce has either a boyfriend and girlfriend, and the girls are pissed at Lucas for not telling them about this fact."
"Wait, that's possible?" Poppy tilted her head in intrigue.
"Well, apparently. Marimba and Tambora tend to lose their minds over the smallest things..."
"No, I mean... You can be in a relationship with either a boy or a girl?"
At that moment, Marimba and Tambora abruptly ceased their trivial argument as they turned to stare at her in shock. Branch, Trollex, and the K-Pop Gang all looked at each other in worry, wondering if Poppy had asked a wrong question. Tresillo only smiled and placed a comforting hand on the Pop Queen's shoulder.
"Of course, you can, Your Majesty. It's all about love. A lot of my closest friends are gay, but they love the person or people they're close to. And if they love each other, then what's wrong with that?"
Poppy took Tresillo's words into consideration and realized that, during her time in Pop Village, never once did she see two Trolls of the same sex hang out with each other in a romantic manner, let alone depict PDA on the basis.
"Huh. I...never saw it that way before."
"¿Realmente?" Tambora slipped an arm over Poppy's shoulders, "Girl, you and your Pop Trolls are way behind. Us Trolls are some of the most progressive out of the subdivisions and even the Tribes. I mean, look at me. I'm attracted to both male and female Trolls. I just choose not to use the label associated with that."
"There's a label for liking male and female Trolls?" CJ blinked in surprise, wanting to know more.
"Of course, niña pequeña," Marimba shrugged and kneeled down to her level, "It's called bisexual, like Tambora and I."
"Ugh, Marimba," Tambora groaned, "Always the blunt one."
"At least I admit it, idiota," Marimba defended herself, "I've gone both ways. I do as I please. I am too curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing...and so are chicks. So what's wrong with being bi?"
"Absolutely nothing," Tambora sighed, "I just don't like the word."
Wani then became worried despite herself, "And Tresillo? Are you...gay?"
The Reggaeton Leader chuckled in amusement, "Of course not, Wani, if that's comfort for you."
Even though she wouldn't admit it, Wani was admittedly relived due to her growing affection towards Tresillo. Her friends could see it, though, and each of them patted a shoulder while eliciting giggles galore.
"I just happen to have a lot of gay friends," Tresillo shrugged again. "And I respect them for it. No worries."
"The same goes for my sister and I, although Dulce tends to bi-curious from time to time," Lucas concurred before he glanced around, "Speaking of which... Yo, Dulce! Quit your make-out session with your new significant other and come down here! Tresillo and the others–!"
That was all the Princess of Latin City needed to drop out of the shadows and into the light. When the non-Latin Trolls got a good glimpse of her, they nearly did a double take. The same colors, the same markings, and even the same nose? The only things that were discernibly different that made stand apart from Lucas were her feathers and clothing choices. Aside from them being shorter, she lacked the peacock-like tail feathers and their eyeball-like pattern that defined her sibling. Her headdress, on the other hand, made up for it with its peacock feathers, jewels, silver that embraced her head in place of a crown or tiara. Complementing the headdress was a teal sequined scarf that resembled an eye-catching dress with a very large slit going up her body's right side when wrapped around her body in addition to diamond earrings and three green bracelets on each arm.
With the exception of those characteristics, Dulce was a spitting image of her brother...before she opened her mouth.
"Squee!" Dulce squealed in excitement, "Marimba! Tambora! You girls are here!"
The Princess pulled in the two Reggaeton girls for a hug. Nearly having their lungs crushed, they managed to return it to prevent any further damage.
"W-Why wouldn't we?" Marimba coughed, "Of course we would!"
"You know we wouldn't miss an opportunity to visit!" Tambora choked out.
"Oh, good! I was just thinking about you two!"
"You were?"
"Well, actually, I was thinking about Queen Poppy and her royal fashion designers Satin and Chenille. I was thinking about getting in contact with them to discuss a potential partnership with them. My idea was..."
Dulce trailed off once she noticed there were visitors in the room, specifically the one she had been thinking about before Lucas called for her.
"Gasp! Queen Poppy?!"
Poppy opened her mouth to respond, but she was caught off guard by the way Dulce quickly glided over to her.
"Is that really you?"
"Uh...yes?"
"Oh, good! I was worried that you were just a mirage!"
"Don't worry, I am very much real. So...you've heard of me?"
"Who hasn't? I've actually heard of you through a friend of mine! You might know her as Nova Swift?"
"Oh, of course I do! Nova's talked about me?"
"And how! See, Miss Nova's talked about how her new interns come up with the most stylish but functional designs!"
"You're talking about my friends Satin and Chenille!"
"Yes, that's them...!"
Dulce stopped herself and glanced Poppy from head to toe. Needless to say...she looked like a hot mess.
"What happened to you?"
"Oh, it's a long story. I just learned almost a week ago that different Trolls other than Pop exist. Queen Barb of the Hard Rock Trolls is trying to destroy us all. And...we almost died."
"Goodness. You must be tired and hungry, no?"
"Famished," DJ yawned as she leaned on Trollex, causing him to heavily blush, "Plus, I think half of us are suffering from internal bleeding."
"Meu Deus..." Dulce placed a hand over her heart in sympathy, "Well, don't you worry. I'll round up some of the best doctors and nurses to treat you all as special guests! Just follow us!"
The Princess glided off with Lucas and Diogo, leaving a very confused group of non-Reggaeton Trolls in their wake.
"She does that," Tresillo simplified once more before gesturing the tourists to follow him and the remaining Latin Trolls to their rehabilitation center. Poppy and Branch walked side-by-side, as did DJ and Trollex, who was still not used to displaying public affection.
