A week after thinking about returning to work, Kyle had finally managed to start back at work, despite calling Marilyn every half an hour to check in on his daughter. It had got to the point that Brax had taken his phone off him, so he'd stop bugging their friend and neighbour. Ricky had found it quite amusing, checking in for him, just not as often.

"Brax, please can I have my phone back now? I promise I won't annoy Marilyn by phoning all the time." Kyle says, leaning against the bar. "Maybe just one more phone call but can you blame me? This is my first shift back, and my first proper day away from Lillie."

"Kyle, Lillie is fine. Marilyn said she would call if she needed anything, and she hasn't. Ricky checked in earlier and Lillie was put down for her nap, just like you would have done. I know it's going to be weird not being with her, but you wanted this and you had to leave her at some point. I said you should take another week or two if you wanted, and you said no."

"I know!" Kyle moans. "I don't like it! You'll understand when your alien gets here."

"Oi, that's my kid you're talking about." Brax glares.

"Sorry, but I don't understand the baby scans. It's just basically a smudge until the baby is formed properly." Kyle says.

"I'd like to have seen what would have happened if Phoebe was here when she was pregnant. Least you didn't have to see her mood swings." Brax says.

"Yeah, it was bad enough when we were together." Kyle says, slightly pulling a face. "In one way, I'm glad it happened how it did. At least then I wouldn't have had to put up with her and Ash rubbing it in my face that they were together."

"You know that wouldn't have happened if I had anything to do with it." Brax says as Ricky walks back out from the kitchen. "Finished eating half my stock?" He jokes

"Hey, I'm eating for two!" She grins, rubbing her bump. "But you may need to order some more ham and pitta bread."

"Ricky!" Brax shakes his head, smirking at her face. "Kyle, take Ricky for a walk will you." He orders.

"Why me?"

"Yeah, and me?" Ricky asks.

"Dr Benton said it was best to go for a walk when you have your little eating bursts like this. I have a delivery coming soon, and Kyle wants to check in with Marilyn, so you can both do that." Brax says, smiling at them both. "Do it for me?"

"Fine!" Kyle says, turning to Ricky. "Just don't do your labour talk on me again, or I think I will pass out this time."

"Come on, it wasn't that bad!" She says, glancing between them both. "Okay, maybe I shouldn't have gone into detail about episiotomies, but Dr Benton said all first time vaginal births are at risk of-"

"Ricky!" Kyle moans, instantly going pale.

"Rick, lay off the labour talk." Brax says, trying not to laugh at his brother. "Kyle, just take her for a walk, and don't worry about the rest of your shift - full pay."

"Okay." Kyle smiles. "That means I can have my phone back now." He smirks.

"Yeah, guess it does." Brax says, handing it over before glancing at Ricky. "I'll be home after the delivery, we could finish the thing from yesterday."

"Sure, sounds great." Ricky nods.

"What thing?" Kyle frowns.

"None of your business." Brax lightly smirks. "Now go before I get Ricky to tell you more about birth."

"Fine, we're going." Kyle says, gently pulling Ricky with him.

"I think I'll do that anyway." Ricky teases, nudging his arm as they walk towards the door.

Walking along towards their street, Ricky and Kyle were talking about the last couple months and how Kyle had been coping being a new dad without any warning. He had found it tough the first couple weeks, and needed a lot of help due to not having any knowledge. Bianca had been quick to step in and help, not wanting it to get in the way of enjoying his time with Lillie.

"How did you find it today, being away from her for the first time?" Ricky asks as they turn down the road towards the Braxton household.

"It was tough. For the last four months, my days have revolved around Lillie, and I've barely left her once. I guess I had to do it at some point, so it was best to do it now before I got even more attached to her." Kyle smiles.

"Yeah, it was a good time to do it. At least you've got it over and done with, and you can build on it now. Soon enough you'll have forgotten about these nerves, and it'll be second nature. Just like when she starts school, which will come around in a flash." Ricky says.

"Don't remind me! I can't believe she's four months already, it only feels like yesterday I found out about her." Kyle says. "I've never considered kids in my future before, but it's great. Especially considering how great Lillie's been. I never knew a baby could be so calm like her."

"You've got a little angel. I hope it's in your blood and we have a great sleeper as well." Ricky says.

"I doubt it, they do have the Braxton gene after all." Kyle smiles as they near their house, noticing Heath and Bianca call them over. "You head on over, I want to get Lillie first."

"Okay." Ricky chuckles, checking there were no cars coming before crossing over as Kyle heads up the path towards Marilyn's.

"Hello?" Kyle calls out as he knocks on the door.

"Kyle, hello! Come on in." Marilyn smiles. "Lillie's just woken up from her nap." She smiles as Kyle picks her up from the pram.

"How's she been?"

"She was a little restless this morning but she soon calmed down." Marilyn says as she packs the travel bag up. "We went for a walk just before her nap and she's also had her bottle. I stuck to your routine, so her next feed isn't due for a while."

"Thank you." Kyle smiles.

"Anytime. You know I'll always be available to babysit when you need it." Marilyn smiles, putting the travel bag around the pram handle for him.

"I'll let you know when that will be at some point." Kyle smiles, adjusting his hold on Lillie before pushing the pram towards the door. "Thank you again." He smiles before heading out towards his brothers house.

"Hey, we were just talking about you." Bianca smiles as he joins them.

"Oh yeah?" Kyle frowns, glancing between them as they all smile at him. "Has she been sick down me again?" He asks, looking down at his shirt.

"No you big sook." Heath scoffs. "Rick was just telling us about your first shift away from Lillie." He says, smiling at his niece's innocent face as she gurgles to herself.

"I haven't been that bad." Kyle mutters.

"No, I wouldn't say phoning Marilyn every half an hour bad, but it was up there." Ricky laughs.

"Anyway, why did you call us over?" Kyle asks, changing the subject before they teased him anymore.

"Don't make plans tonight, we're having a boys night whilst the girls chill out here." Heath says.

"I can't, I've got Lillie." Kyle says.

"Kyle, we haven't had a night for just us in ages! And it will be even longer if we have to wait for Golden Boy to get home. I'm sure the girls won't mind having her." Heath says, glancing at his wife and sister in law.

"I'd rather not. I've only just managed to leave her today, I'm not leaving her a whole night." Kyle says.

"Come on, Kylie!" Heath moans. "What if you put her down to sleep earlier, then we've still got boys time, and you don't have to leave her?"

"How many plan b's do you have until I say yes?" Kyle says.

"Enough to know that it's happening whether you want to or not. But I'm not having the footy disrupted for her." Heath says.

"Oi, leave Lillie out of it." Kyle lightly glares.

"Are you boys done now?" Bianca asks, turning to Kyle. "How about we take Lillie for a couple hours, and bring her back to you later on? I know Darcy would love to spend some time with her."

"And we'll be right here if we need anything." Ricky adds.

"Fine! But I get her back after the footy." Kyle says.

"Yes, great!" Heath says, pulling out his phone. "I'll text Brax to bring beers." He grins.
