It had been half and hour since Marilyn noticed Lillie was missing from her pram and the police had taken her statement. They were starting to check her living room for fingerprints that wouldn't match herself, John or anyone else who had been in the house within the last day, which she said no one had been. Kyle had been called and he was there almost instantly after taking off, leaving the suppliers half way through the meeting.
"I just don't understand how she's been taken without you knowing!" Kyle shouts, gripping the back of his neck as he paces backwards and forwards. "How the hell has she gone missing?"
"I was gone for less than half a minute, I was only getting her spare baby grow from the dryer, and she was gone when I came back in. The doors were shut, there's no way someone could have gotten in without me knowing." Marilyn says, feeling extremely guilty.
"But they clearly have!" Kyle argues, not believing this was happening to him, more officers walk in to help with the investigation. "What's being done to find her?" He asks Kat.
"We're checking for prints that don't match the information given in Marilyn's statement, then we'll be checking all CCTV in the area." Kat says.
"So you haven't actually got any officers out looking for her?" Kyle asks, shooting his gaze to her as he stops pacing.
"We haven't as of yet but we will be getting some out as soon as possible." Kat says. "We are doing all we can to find her. You'll get your daughter back." She says before walking over to McCarthy.
"I don't believe this." Kyle mutters, rushing out.
"Kyle!" Kat calls, running after him. "Where are you going?"
"To find my daughter!" Kyle shouts before getting into his car, speeding off down the road.
"McCarthy, I need to go after him, will you be okay here?" She asks, noticing her boss followed her out.
"You go. Stop him from doing anything that will jeopardise this investigation." McCarthy says, chucking her the keys to the police car, watching her drive off before walking back in to help his officers.
"How about we head into Yabbie Creek for dinner?" Bianca suggests as they turn into their street.
"Yeah, sounds good. But not before murdering Kyle. I went into Angelo's to find he walked out from the meeting with the suppliers, so I had to finish it off. They just said he got a phone call, then took off." Heath says. "I've tried calling him but it's going straight to voicemail." He says, them both noticing a ton of police cars parked all over their side of the street.
"What's going on?" Bianca frowns, glancing at Heath before they both get out of the car, heading over to where Marilyn was now standing on the driveway with John comforting her. "Marilyn, is everything okay?" She asks.
"You haven't heard from Kyle?" John asks.
"No, he walked out from a meeting and won't answer his phone." Heath says. "What's all this?"
"Lillie was taken from her pram earlier." Marilyn says, wiping some more tears away. "She was there one minute, then the next she was gone and the front door was open."
"What?" The couple exclaim.
"Where's Kyle?" Heath asks.
"He took off to look for her. Kat went to try and stop him." Marilyn says.
"Do they know who took her?" Bianca asks as Heath runs back to his car.
"No." Marilyn shakes her head.
"The police are taking swabs of all finger prints on the door and the pram in the hopes they find something. Although it looks like whoever did this was wearing gloves, because they're struggling to find anything." John says, glancing off down the road as Heath speeds off.
"Our last appointment before our little girl gets here over with. This is even more real now." Ricky smiles, leaning her head on Brax's shoulder as they each have a hand on her bump, feeling their daughter kicking every now and then.
"Just under three weeks until dirty nappies and sleepless nights, we better enjoy it whilst we can." Brax smiles.
"I don't think I'd mind that. We've tried too hard to get to this point, nothing could ruin it, not even dirty nappies." Ricky laughs.
"Is that a job you're putting yourself on then?" Brax asks.
"No! You said we were to share the jobs, that means you get the dirtiest nappies, I get the nicer ones." Ricky says, grinning up at his face.
"Not a chance." Brax says. "You wouldn't even know which ones are bad until you're doing it. Just look at those times Kyle thought he was going to have an easy job with Lillie." He smirks.
"Yeah, that's true." Ricky nods, noticing her midwife approaching them as they both stand up.
"Here's the leaflets on what we went through today if you want to refer back on them, and they've also got some useful websites in them if you want to know more. Next time I'll be seeing you two is when you're little one is ready to enter this world in a few weeks." She smiles.
"Thank you!" Ricky beams. "We'll see you soon." She says as her and Brax walk towards the lift.
"Have you thought more about which names you like best yet?" Brax asks, wondering if she would have changed her mind again. "Cause in three weeks we're going to need a name that you like best, and won't change your mind on." He lightly smirks.
"Yep, I've got it down to six that we could go through when we get home. I've chosen three from both of our lists, to make it fair." Ricky says as Brax's phone goes off.
"Hello?" He answers, pressing the floor above them as they get into the lift, stopping Ricky from pressing the ground floor button.
"Brax, we don't need the ED." Ricky frowns, sensing something had happened from his face, him rushing out over to Nate and Hannah as soon as the lift doors opened. "Brax, what's going on?" She asks once he came off the phone.
"You need to stay here in Nate's office for a while. I've got something to sort out." Brax says.
"Like what?" She asks, not getting a reply. "We promised no more secrets."
"I need you to stay here where I know you'll be safe." Brax says. "Just please don't ask questions, I'll explain everything later." He says before walking out, leaving her stood there confused.
Once Brax left the hospital, he went in search of his little brother, and any sign of his niece on the way. Heath had phoned him, telling him what Marilyn had told him, and the fact that he couldn't find him anywhere. Brax was nearing the road into Summer Bay when he saw Kyle's car parked up on the side of the road, so he pulled in behind and walked over to him, opening the driver's door up.
"Kyle, I've been looking everywhere for you." Brax sighs, taking the keys out of the ignition, so he couldn't drive away. "Why haven't you been answering your phone?" He asks as Kyle gets out of the car, walking to the front to lean on it.
"I can't find her." Kyle mutters, rubbing his hand together in angst. "I've been all around the Bay twice, out to Yabbie Creek and everywhere in between and there was no sign of her, or even anyone with a baby."
"I'm sure this is just some big misunderstanding, and whoever took her will give her back." Brax says, knowing it was the least likeliest thing to happen, but he needed to stay positive for the sake of his brother.
"What if they don't? The police haven't even gone out looking yet… She could be anywhere, anyone could have her!" Kyle says, tears streaming down his face. "I've looked everywhere and I can't find her!"
"Hey, it's okay. The police are doing everything they can and they've just sent teams out to look. We are going to do everything to make sure you get her back." Brax says, hugging Kyle tight.
"Why would someone take her?" Kyle sobs, gripping onto Brax's arm like it was his last lifeline.
"I don't know." Brax sighs, wishing he knew why it was Kyle this had to happen to, knowing it would crush his brother if nothing came up. "We'll find her. I promise you, you'll get her back."
"What if I never… See her again?"
"You can't think like that. You need to stay positive because she is out there somewhere, and she needs you." Brax says, wishing this never happened, or that he was there sooner to have been able to do more.
