Chapter 1:
A Chomp in the Dark
11:53 pm
The night was cold as the rain poured down. No warmth was spared as the water was in a constant fall, chilling the air as it fell.. Meanwhile I was in my home, my brother and I doing our best to stay warm inside. We couldn't really do anything too loud as we didn't want to wake our otherworldly friends. Especially Cerys, the girl already has enough problems she has to deal with…
We settled on watching reruns of Takdir Karuksakan, one of our favorite dimensional reality shows. Although it wasn't very ideal with the storm brewing outside, drowning out the sounds. We could've turned it up, but with what I said before, we couldn't.
About half an hour passed as I watched the tv. That's when I heard it. A splash. Something big, possibly fell into the buttery mud made by the downpour. But what? What person or creature would have decided to visit at this hour? Through the backyard even? The back was completely sealed off by a tall fence, so they would've had to intentionally climb over it. I turned to ask Evil that I heard something, but he was already fast asleep.
I had to go alone.
Not the best situation for my cowardice "scared of the dark" self. This is what I get for watching so many horror let's plays… Still, what else was I gonna do? Materializing my sword, I snuck to the backdoor. I could hear that the rainfall had gotten lighter than earlier, but still a little intense. The lightning hadn't stopped either. I opened the door to take a look outside, but all I could see was darkness. Only the silhouettes of the top of the aforementioned wall and buildings of the town were visible.
I heard another sound, not splashing this time. Rather the squish squash of wet earth. Whatever was out here was on the move. Lightning flashed. I thought I saw a glimpse of the creature. I was some sort of humanoid creature, crawling on it's hands. It's body was fully black in the light, so it was impossible to make a description of it. What was a person doing out here? And why the hell was it crawling? Was it even a person?
I was wrapped up in my thoughts until a growl came from the dark, Immediately I snapped back to reality. Looking in the direction of the noise I saw the was running. Towards the castle. Towards the door. Right. At. Me.
Before I knew it, I was on my face, stunned from being knocked over. I could hear the sound of them dashing upstairs. Whatever it was, it was pretty damn fast. I had two options at this point. I could either wake up EvilTBM, or investigate upstairs alone like an idiot.
. . . . Aw screw it.
I would've killed the world from beyond the grave dear god…Going into the upstairs, it was strange to hear nothing but silence. You'd think the being would be making a lot more noise. The door to my room was the only one open. Makes sense obviously, I wasn't in there after all. The bed was shaking, and the pillows were on the floor. I don't know why I'm describing this to you, you just wanna know what's under the sheets.
Lifting the covers I braced myself for the sight of. . . . .
"RUFF RUFF"
. . . . . . . .
Is that a fricking girl?
