Chapter Five: Meeting on Polis Massa

At Polis Massa, Grandmaster Yoda sat in a sort of observatory meditating. Before the war, reaching out into the force was a gift that would have brightened anyone's day. Now though, it was more like an ever-expanding pit of darkness, all the light sucked away through the deaths of so many Jedi, and their spirits being transported to the nether realm of the force. For most who survived, the darkness would be unbearable, and Yoda had no doubt that some of those who had survived would be corrupted by, and turned, to the dark side, and probably end up servants of the Empire. For Yoda however, the darkness was nothing more than a boundary to him, having defeated his inner dark side on his past journey given to him by Qui-Gon. Despite the ever-growing expansion of the dark side, Yoda was still able to peer through it and spot the small beacons of light which shone brightly while others twitched and disappeared as a result of the dark side's corruption.

As he meditated, Bail Organa entered the room. "Master Yoda." A pause. "Master Kenobi is about to arrive."

Opening his eyes, Yoda looked out to the stars beyond, sensing slight unease in the Senator.

"More to say, have you, hm?" Yoda replied.

Bail waited a moment before answering. "Yes. Padawan Tano and Captain Rex have made contact."

'She… survived?' Yoda thought to himself with slight joy, at least someone else did. He was broken away from his thoughts as Bail continued.

"She mentioned something about programming, and that she was bringing another Jedi that you would want to talk to."

"Another Jedi?" Yoda questioned.

"Yes, though she did not say who, however, I would suspect that it is a member of the council." Bail responded.

"I agree," Yoda nodded. "If saying that talk to them I should, then a council member, it will most likely be."

They were interrupted by the appearance of Senator Amidala's ship. "They've arrived," Bail mused. Yoda nodded. "Yes. Greet them, we should."

And with that, they left for the landing bay.

After speaking with Bail Organa and redirecting the ship's course to Polis Massa, Ahsoka made her way to the bunk room where Rex had laid Master Plo. As she entered, Rex was stood over Master Plo's bed, and had just finished wrapping up the wounds with bandages soaked in Bacta from one of his belt compartments. To her surprise though, Master Plo was awake and talking to Rex, who turned around once noticing Ahsoka, and then walked to the room's entrance, giving Ahsoka a smile as he passed, Ahsoka giving one back, which did not go unnoticed by Master Plo. As Rex left, Ahsoka walked towards Master Plo and gave him a long, careful hug, which Master Plo returned.

"Koh-to-yah Master Plo." Ahsoka quietly said.

"Koh-to-yah Little 'Soka." Master Plo returned, prompting a small, almost shy smile to appear on Ahsoka's face as she pulled over a chair and sat down next to him.

Master Plo's expression changed slightly as he turned his head towards Ahsoka.

"I thought I told you not to come for me." Which earned him a sigh from Ahsoka.

"I couldn't just leave you. Not when I had a chance to save you." Was her only reply.

"Yes, and yet I can sense that you still hold anger against me."

"Why would I hold anger for you?" She retorted, causing him to elaborate.

"You are still angry over the council, and my, treatment of you during the bombing and your trial." He stated, and something inside Ahsoka snapped.

"Of course I'm angry with you. The council abandoned me!" She shouted, before calming down, her voice becoming no more than a whisper, tears beginning to fall down her face. "You abandoned me. Anakin was the only Jedi who believed in me. And Rex believed in me too."

"I didn't abandon you," Plo responded in an equally quiet voice.

"What do you mean?" She replied.

"The choice to expel you was not as one-sided as you might think. Myself and Master's Kenobi, Yoda, Fisto, and Ti all stood with you, but our pleas were cast aside by the winning voters. We had no choice but to go along with it. Every question that me and Yoda asked was hard to speak, though Yoda was able to deal with it better. I struggled with it, but I had to put on a strong face so as not to arouse suspicion."

He stopped for a moment as he struggled to breathe, before continuing.

"When you were found innocent, I was nothing more than thankful that it was over and that you would come back to the order. I felt that it was only right that I apologized to you in the council chamber for what we had done, and I made it a personal apology from me for not trying hard enough to fight for you as Master Kenobi had done. In the end, it wouldn't have mattered, as you walked away, and I felt betrayed by my one true friend. At that moment, I vowed to always believe in you, no matter what happened, and I broke that vow when I told you not to rescue me. From now on, I promise that I will believe in you as long as I live; and I will stay with you as well."

Throughout all of that, Ahsoka looked at him, her anger at him completely dissipating and being replaced by guilt at her outburst at him when he tried to stand up for her the whole time. The tears that fell continued, but they were instead of happiness that Plo would believe in her and stay with her as long as he lived. As a result, she wrapped her arms around Plo's neck and she hugged him, her tears dripping off her face and into Plo's shoulder.

"Thank you, Master Plo." She whispered.

"Your welcome, Little 'Soka." He replied.

They stayed like that for the rest of the trip.

As Ahsoka's ship entered the hangar bay alongside Senator Amidala's, Master Yoda looked up at it in thought. He was glad that Ahsoka had survived, and that they would find out why the clones turned on them, but he was also curious as to who the other Jedi was. He would get his answer when the ship touched down and the boarding ramp lowered, revealing Master Plo walk down, with Ahsoka and Captain Rex supporting him on either side.

"Master Plo, good to see you alive, it is.

"And you as well, Master Yoda" He replied. "Though it would be best if we talked in the medical bay." He continued, looking down at the shrapnel above his hip.

"Of course. Follow me." Yoda replied.

Not ten minutes later, the four of them were sat in a medical room with Master Plo on the bed being attended to by droids. Luckily, Kel Dor skin is quite tough, so the shrapnel had done minimal damage, and removing it was easy, and the wound had been stitched up, and the droids were just finishing putting on a gauze soaked with bacta. Master Kenobi and Senator Organa also joined them and they were deep in conversation.

"Programming, you say, hm?" Yoda asked, looking at Rex.

"Yes General. Do you remember the incident with clone trooper's Tup and Fives and the inhibitor chips?

"Yes, we remember," Obi-Wan replied.

"Well, it's the chip that causes it. They are embedded in our brains and will activate when one of the 150 specific orders is activated. In this case, Order 66 was activated, causing all clone troopers to lose control of their mind and were put on autopilot by the chip to destroy any and all Jedi. But we remember the entire thing. When my chip was removed by Ahsoka, I could remember trying to kill her."

"So the entire army is under its control?" Bail asked.

"Yes, all active clones in the army received the order. The only clones who didn't receive the order are probably any deserters or clones who didn't receive the order, which is unlikely unless they are in a cryo pod of some sort. Unfortunately, it's too late to save them all, but I plan to rescue and save as many as I can, mainly clones I know and rely on."

"How do you expect to do that?" Ahsoka questioned.

"The clones don't know that I saved you. Only members of the 332nd knew, and they all died in the crash. I can slip back into the army as if nothing happened, and pretend that I'm still under the chip's control, with the backstory that I killed you after you rigged the ship to crash, and slaughtered my men in the process. If this fools the Emperor, which is unlikely, then I would probably be rewarded for killing the former Padawan of one of the most powerful Jedi to ever live."

With the mention of Anakin, both Master Yoda and Obi-Wan looked down, which Ahsoka picked up on.

"Where is he?" Ahsoka asked.

Obi-Wan sighed before answering. "After the order happened, me and Anakin traveled to Mustafar to face down the Emperor's new apprentice. We fought for a while until I managed to cripple the Sith before I had to retreat. Anakin didn't make it. I'm sorry Ahsoka, he's gone."

Obi-Wan was partially true, Anakin was gone, but he wasn't dead. They both went to fight the sith lord, but that sith lord was Anakin, he was fighting himself and Vader won out. Obi-Wan's thoughts were then broken by Ahsoka speaking again.

"And where's Padme, you brought her with you, didn't you?"

This time Bail looked at Obi-Wan, before answering.

"Padme is here but it would be best to show you." He said, before getting up and leaving the room. Ahsoka, confused, got up and followed, with Obi-Wan and Yoda following behind.

Plo Koon stayed where he was as he was still recovering, while Ahsoka told Rex to go back to the hanger and stock up the ship with some more supplies

As Ahsoka walked, she had a sense of worry inside her. That worry became reality, as she entered another medical bay that held the still form of Padme. She didn't have to ask to know that she was dead; she could feel nothing from Padme's body, no lively emotions from someone who she saw as a sort of mother figure to her. In the end, it became too much to bear, and she walked up to the body, before keeling over beside it, lifting the body up with her arms and then fiercely hugging it, tears falling freely, leaving small stains on the immaculate white medical wear the covered Padme's body.

She stayed there for a few minutes before being helped up by Obi-Wan, and she proceeded to lightly cling to him as she looked over to Bail, who was picking up two bundles of white blankets from a droid in the corner, before turning around and showing Ahsoka the contents. Looking up at her were a set of blue eyes, coming from a boy, and a set of brown eyes from the girl. Visually, the twins, she assumed they were twins, didn't amount to much. She hadn't seen many babies except those she saw in the cloning tubes on Kamino when she was stationed there for a short period during the war, and there wasn't much to change her opinion on them. Through the force though, they were incredible. Two radiant bundles of light that shone brightly before her, little tendrils leaving them and reaching out to feel everything around them. Their force signatures were very similar to that of Anakin, which she wasn't surprised about, considering she had known about the relationship between her master and friend. Whatever sorrow and grief she had earlier was replaced with joy that at least she had something of her master to hold on to, and she unwrapped her hands from around Obi-Wan and reached out to hold the twins, Bail letting her, and she sat down in another chair, gently reaching out to them in the force and internally giggled as the twins intertwined with her tendrils of light. Alongside that, she was playing with them as well, gently tapping the two's noses and holding them close to her, a wide smile growing on her face, which everyone else looked at with smiles of their own.

"What are their names?" Ahsoka questioned.

"The boy is called Luke, and the girl, Leia. Padme told Obi-Wan as she gave birth before passing." Bail answered.

"And what will happen to them?" She asked.

Obi-Wan gave her an answer. "We were on our way to the Tantive III to discuss it when you arrived with Master Plo."

"Then let's go," Ahsoka replied, a slight spring of enthusiasm in her voice as she carefully handed Luke and Leia back to the medical droid. With nothing else to say, they all left the room and made their way to Bail's ship.

Not long after, the group of Jedi along with Bail Organa were sat in a meeting room aboard the Tantive III and were deep in conversation about the fate of Luke and Leia.

"Hidden, safe the children must be kept," Yoda stated.

"We must take them somewhere where the sith will not sense their presence." Obi-Wan continued.

"Hmm. Split up they should be." Yoda replied. At this, Ahsoka raised her head slightly but had to agree that Master Yoda was right.

"My wife and I will take the girl." Bail chimed in. "We've always talked of adopting a baby girl. She will be loved with us."

"And what of the boy?" Obi-Wan asked, turning towards Yoda.

"To Tatooine. To his family send him." Yoda replied looking back at Obi-Wan.

"I will take the boy and watch over him." Obi-Wan continued.

"Ahsoka. Think of this, what do you?" Yoda said, looking over at Ahsoka.

A bit flustered at being asked she answered.

"Personally I don't like the idea, but I have to agree that it is the safest option. I've felt how strong they are in the force. To keep them together is foolish, and I don't want Anakin's children to become servants of evil as I once was on Mortis." At that Obi-Wan looked down at the ground, having been victim to witnessing her in that state.

At that, they all stood up, while Yoda remained seated.

"Until the time is right, disappear we will," Yoda stated. But as they made for the exit, Yoda spoke again.

"Master Kenobi, Ahsoka, wait a moment."

Confused, the two of them returned to their seats before listening to what Yoda had to say.

"Master Kenobi, in your solitude on Tatooine, training I have for you."

Looking even more confused, Obi-Wan replied. "Training?"

"An old friend has learned the path to immortality. One who has returned from the netherworld of the Force. Your old master."

Coming to the realization, Obi-Wan answered with slightly wide eyes. "Qui-Gon."

"How to commune with him I will teach you."

"But that's impossible." Ahsoka reacted, out of instinct. "You can't return from the force. It's impossible to do that. Not on your own at least." She added that last part as she had experienced it herself.

"Spoken to me, Master Qui-Gon has. Impossible it is not. Learned how, I have. And pass it on to you, I will, when the time is right, Padawan." Yoda replied to her small outburst.

"But I'm not a padawan, Master."

"No, you are not." Came the reply of Master Plo as he entered the room. "You are more."

"More?" Ahsoka asked, clearly confused at what was happening.

"Right, Master Plo is. Sense it we all do. An abnormality in the force you are. Relating to your trip to Mortis, we are. Absorbed the power of the Daughter, you did, and more powerful as a result, you have become. More powerful than me, you will be, in the future. Perhaps, even as powerful as your Master, you could be." Yoda elaborated.

"Not only are you more in the force, but you are more in person. Ahsoka, you are what a Jedi should have been. You are powerful but modest, and kind to all you meet. You are the embodiment of what Jedi were supposed to be. During this war, we lost that, I will admit. And along with that, I believe the code restricted you instead of allowing you to excel to the level you should have. With that in mind, you were right to leave the order."

Ahsoka took a moment to take in the revelations, before a smile cracked open on her face, and did something no-one expected, as she went up to Master Yoda and hugged him. Taken aback, Yoda recoiled slightly, before embracing Ahsoka back, slowly patting her back as a few of Ahsoka's tears fell onto his shoulder. After a few seconds, Ahsoka let go and raised herself back up as she wiped the few remaining tears from her face.

"So, what happens now?" she asked.

"Into exile on Dagobah, I will go, while Master Obi-Wan goes to Tatooine. Stay with you, Master Plo will, and train you as best he can. When the time is right, contact you I will, to teach you everything I know." Yoda replied, handing Ahsoka a commlink.

"If Luke and Leia are unable to defeat the Emperor, you will be the last hope for the light side of the force, Ahsoka," Obi-Wan added, before continuing. "As for right now, we will take Padme's body to Naboo, where we will then split up and disappear. As for you, Master Plo and Rex, you do what you think is right."

Ahsoka nodded before going over to Master Plo, who wrapped an arm around her shoulders as they walked to the exit, but before that Ahsoka turned around to look at Master Yoda and Obi-Wan. "May the Force be with you, Master's," she said before she and Plo continued on their way.

Not long after, Master Plo and Ahsoka watched as the Tantive III lifted off from the hangar and entering the vacuum of space before disappearing into lightspeed. As the pair turned around, Rex walked over.

"So what now?" he asked.

"I don't really know. Master Plo and I never told Master Yoda and Obi-Wan what we were going to do." Ahsoka replied. "But I can sense that something is troubling you. I believe Master Plo can as well."

With that, Rex awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.

"Well, I want to go after the clones. I want to save as many as I can."

"You want to do that straight away?" Ahsoka questioned

"Yes, now would be the best time. In these first few months, the clones I'm trying to save will still be where they were when the order happened. I was there for many of those meetings with Master Skywalker. And if not, then they were most likely recalled back to Coruscant. Because they don't know I removed my chip and helped you, I can persuade them to come with me, where we can capture them and take care of the chip in their heads." He explained.

"Well, it seems we have a course of action." Master Plo said, before continuing. "We'll help you to save the clones you speak of, but then we'll have to separate in order to remain hidden from the Empire."

"Yes General." Came Rex's swift reply.

"We are not Generals, or Commanders, any more Rex, we are citizens," Ahsoka explained.

Hearing that, Rex reached to scratch the back of his neck again.

"Uh, right sorry Comma.. uh, Ahsoka."

And with that, they walked back over to the Dorin Akul, before taking off and leaving Polis Massa into their new and uncertain future.

On Naboo, it was night, but it wasn't empty. Along a large bridge, crowds of people stood to the side or from boats as they watched a procession of people pass across the bridge, led by two handmaidens, which led a group of animals pulling a coffin. In that coffin laid the body of Padme Amidala, dressed in a dark blue dress, with her hair stretched out to fill the rest of the coffin around her head. Behind the coffin came the current Queen of Naboo, followed by various advisers, as well as Jar Jar Binks and former Boss Nass. Behind them came members of the Naberrie family. All of them had somber and saddened moods as they followed the coffin to its final resting place in the Mausoleum at the end of the bridge. Looking at the body, she still looked pregnant, in order to hide Luke and Leia. Her hands rested on top of the supposed baby bump, with a small Japor snippet intertwined between her fingers.

Elsewhere, a set of V-Wings flew past a small group of Venators, now fully painted grey. Inside the lead Venator, the newly appointed Lord Vader entered the bridge and walked up towards his new Master and Admiral Tarkin. As he reached his Master's side, Tarkin left, leaving just the two of them to look out towards the skeleton frame of a massive spherical object. Vader crossed his arms, looking out at the battle station that would crush all hopes of a rebellion.

The Tantive III passed over a range of snow-tipped mountains before landing in the capital city of Alderaan. Minutes later, Bail walked out onto a balcony, where his wife Breha was sat. sitting down beside her, he passed the bundle of blankets over to her so she could look at their new daughter. Breha looked down at the pair of brown eyes, smiling, while Leia looked back at her. While this happened, Bail wrapped an arm around his wife, before leaning against her and looking down at the baby.

On the desert planet of Tatooine, an Eopie stopped outside a hut in the middle of nowhere. Off it's back came Obi-Wan Kenobi, who walked over to a waiting Beru Lars. Handing the sleeping Luke over to her, she smiled as she looked at the baby, before looking back at Obi-Wan, who gave her a reassuring look and a nod. With that, she turned around and walked over to her husband, Owen who stood above the pit overlooking their home. With a hand to his chin, Obi-Wan looked on a moment longer before heading back to his Eopie, preparing for his new life in exile on the planet. Beru and Owen looked at their new son before looking across the pit of their home towards the twin sun's beginning to crest over the horizon.

Author's Note: Well I finished this quicker than I expected. It was still a pain to write though. In my earlier draft of the chapter, I had two completely different sections. The first was when Ahsoka and Plo talk at the beginning, and it involved a talk between them about how Ahsoka cares for Rex. I removed this because one, it was hard to write, and two, it just didn't fit. Another area was after Ahsoka went to see Padme's body. Instead of Rex going back to the Dorin Akul, he instead went in search of a doctor to see if he could fix his accelerated aging. I finally decided that it would be too much of a plot filler and an attempt to make Rex's life longer so he could be with Ahsoka longer. Fixing his accelerated aging is not off the table, I just need to rethink it, and maybe ask another Author to borrow their way of fixing it.

There was a fair bit of angst and revelations in this. Yes, Ahsoka has the Power level of the daughter but doesn't have her major abilities, like changing into a Griffin and whatnot. Absorbing her power just made her more powerful than anyone else outside of the Chosen One and possibly the Emperor, which is why some point later in the main storyline, or a side story, Ahsoka will go to Yoda on Dagobah to learn everything he knows.

Moving on, a lot of you might be thinking that the story is done, considering the ending is the same as Revenge Of The Sith. It's not. I just did that to signal the end of this phase of the story.

And now onto why I don't like the Sequel Trilogy. Personally, the films are alright to watch, but they just don't fit the canon universe. Kathleen Kennedy haters, you probably know why, but she basically just messed up the canon storyline and listened to nothing that George Lucas told her. Honestly, they should have just fired her after Episode 8. I also think that she wanted Ahsoka's voice in the final battle between Rey and Palpatine just to, and excuse my language, piss us off. I believe that she is alive, and I think Dave Filoni does as well.

Enough ranting for now. Onto the state of the story. We move into the Ahsoka Novel phase. These chapters should be quicker to write and release, as I own the book itself. I won't be copying and pasting the entire thing, though large chunks of the story will be. Don't copyright me, Disney. It's just so it's quicker and easier. Besides, it's not really copying and pasting as Master Plo is in it so I hope that sorts it.

Anyway, goodbye for now, and I hope to be back with a new chapter fairly soon, I hope.
