We head back to the Grill so Care can pick up her car before she leads me over to her house. I memorize the location as we unload her shopping bags.
"I think that's it. I'm going to run home, drop my stuff off, and grab an overnight bag." I smile as I close the trunk of my car.
"Sounds great! I'll set everything up. See you soon." She beams and walks up the stairs onto the porch. I smile back. I can't believe I feel so comfortable with her already. The smile doesn't leave my face as I make the drive home.
I carry everything inside and put it away before taking a quick shower. I'm a bit weird about showering at other people's houses. It's awkward.
After I'm clean I just pull on my underwear, black leggings, flats, and a black fitted t-shirt that has fangs on it with the words "I Bite!" across my stomach. I pull my long black hair up into a bun before grabbing my overnight bag and head in downstairs. I bump into flesh with an 'oof.'
"Izzy, what have you been told about running in the house?" Dad asks in a teasing manner.
"Hi, Daddy. How was work?" I ask giving him a quick peck on the cheek. He immediately blushes.
"Um... Well, it was okay. Sheriff Forbes is teaching me the in and outs of this place." He says and I swear his blush deepens even further.
"In and outs, eh?" I send him a smirk as I grab my black pea coat.
"Y-yeah. You heading somewhere?" He lifts a brow. I mentally facepalm.
"I'm just staying the night with Caroline, ya know, the sheriff's daughter?" I groan.
"Well, that's good. Have you met any guys yet? Tell her mom I said hello." He grabs a Coke from the fridge.
"Nope. I'll tell her. See you tomorrow. I love you!" I say walking out the door.
Literally, the second I knock on Caroline's door, I am yanked inside by the lapels on my coat.
I take a deep breath and focus on Caroline and Bonnie laughing.
"Guys! I could have hurt you! I know martial arts." I glare playfully.
"Yeah, right. The only way you would have hurt us would've been tripping over air and falling on us." Care says trying to catch her breath.
"Hey! I'm not that clumsy anymore. Who spilled the beans?" I look between the laughing girls and get no answer.
"Your father did. Indirectly of course." Sheriff Forbes smiles coming down the stairs. I can't stifle my groan.
"I'm going to kill him." I shake my head.
"It's okay, dear. It was a harmless video." She says tilting her head. I freeze.
"Video?" I sigh.
"Yeah. Your father showed me it at work." She says with a fond smile. If I wasn't so mad at my father, I would've teased her about it. I excuse myself and dial my father's number before sitting on the porch swing.
"Iz? Are you okay? You don't normally call." Dad asks and I hear the slight panic in his voice.
"No, Dad. I'm not. Do you know why?" I arch a brow even though he can't see it.
"What do you mean, Izzy?" He sounds genuinely confused.
"Liz just told me you showed her a video of my clumsiness," I say simply.
"Honey, I took the video while you were unpacking. Post Izzy change." Regret hits me for neing such a bitch.
"I'm sorry, Dad. It's just... the clumsiness reminds me of the old me. I thought it was an older video." I say honestly.
"It's okay, sweet pea. Besides you know, I didn't get a smartphone until after we moved here." He chuckles and I can't help but laugh.
"Okay, Daddy. I love you and I'll see you tomorrow."
"Love you, too. Bye, honey." Dad says. I hang up and walk back inside. Liz gives me a warm smile.
"The girls are in Caroline's room. I trust you know where that is?" She asks. I nod and head for the stairs before turning back to her with a smirk.
"Dad says hello." Her face immediately flushes. She so likes him!
I hurry up the stairs and knock on Care's door before entering and setting my bag down. I turn to see three pairs of eyes focused on me. Damn.
"Makeover time!" Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena squeal. Double Damn.
