WARNING - MENTIONS OF SELF HARM AND SUICIDE
"Why, Brax?" Kyle asks, staring at his eldest brother.
"I just want to explain that we aren't trying to-" Brax starts.
"You're trying to make out like I've gone psycho!" Kyle interrupts. "I don't need to see a therapist and I'd prefer it if you didn't talk about me behind my back, getting other people to try and get me to see someone!"
"We are definitely not trying to make out that you've gone psycho, you haven't and we don't think that." Brax says. "We just think that if you saw a counsellor, it could help you through this."
"I don't need help because I'm fine!" Kyle hisses.
"Kyle, you are not fine!"
"Yes I am. I'm going to be okay."
"And what about Emilia? What happens when you babysit her, if you ever choose to?" Brax asks.
"I don't get what you're asking?" Kyle frowns.
"You miss Lillie, I see the way you look at Emilia-"
"You think I'd steal your kid?" Kyle cuts him off, staring at him in disbelief.
"What, Kyle I-"
"I don't believe this." Kyle scoffs. "How could you think that low of me?"
"I don't, okay? I didn't mean it to sound like that." Brax sighs as Kyle starts walking up to the front door. "Kyle, just stop for a minute." He says, gently grabbing Kyle's arm to stop him.
"Back off!" Kyle warns, shoving him off. "I'd never do that to you. Just because I miss Lillie, it doesn't mean I'd go and steal another baby just to fill the gap." He says, rushing inside just as Heath walks up the drive to look for Bianca.
"What's going on?" Heath asks, frowning as Brax rushes in after Kyle, so he follows. "Brax?"
"Kyle, just stop!" Brax shouts as Kyle slams the bathroom door shut, locking it from the inside. "Just come out so we can talk about this properly."
"Leave me alone!" Kyle shouts from the other side of the door. "I know exactly what you meant."
"It came out wrong! I know you would never do that, and I didn't mean for it to sound like I was suggesting that. You can't just keep walking off when you don't want to talk about something! You're grieving for Lillie and taking everything the wrong way." Brax says, banging his fist against the door. "Just open up!"
"What's going on?" Ricky asks as she walks into the hallway with Bianca.
"Just open up, Kyle, we're on your side." Brax says ignoring Ricky's question.
"No, you think I'm capable of stealing your kid! I would never do that because I know how horrible it feels!" Kyle retorts.
"I know you would never take her. I didn't even mean to imply that, I'm sorry if that's how it sounded." Brax says. "Kyle, just open up."
"He wouldn't take who?" Ricky frowns, not being able to hear what Kyle was saying.
"Emilia. Like I've said, I didn't mean it." Brax sighs, taking a hand through his hair as he hears his daughter cry through the baby monitor Ricky was holding.
"I need to see to her. Make things right." Ricky firmly says to him before walking back to the flat with Bianca.
"Let me try." Heath says.
"He's not going to talk to you, he's argued with you every time you try." Brax says.
"Well I didn't say he'd steal my kid." Heath says, not having meant to. "Sorry, I know you wouldn't say it." He mutters, avoiding his brothers glare.
"He needs help that we can't give him, and he can't keep thinking we're against him by bringing it up. Once we get him to unlock the door, we'll take him to someone."
"He's refusing to talk to anyone, we can't exactly force him." Heath says, knocking on the door. "Kyle, open up. I just want to talk." He says, not getting a reply.
"I'm sorry, Kyle. I shouldn't have said it, even though I didn't." Brax says, muttering the last part but still not getting a reply.
"Kyle?" Heath calls through the door. "Seriously, I know we haven't been talking but this is ridiculous." He moans.
"Heath!" Brax hisses.
"No, I've tried making things right, but he won't give me a chance! Looks like this is being done the hard way." Heath says, barging his shoulder into the door a few times until it swings open. "Oh my-" He gasps, Kyle lying unconscious on the floor, blood pouring from his wrists.
"Kyle!" Brax gasps, rushing in and grabbing hand towels from the side to put pressure on the cuts. "Call an ambulance."
"On it." Heath says, pulling out his phone and dialling the number, trying to stay calm as he explains his brothers condition.
"I don't understand how that would have even come up in conversation." Ricky says as she changes Emilia's dirty nappy.
"I'm not sure. But I can't see Brax saying that, Kyle must have taken it the wrong way. He knows what it's like to have your baby abducted, he wouldn't wish that upon anyone, especially you and Brax." Bianca says.
"Yeah, that's possible. Kyle has been taking a lot the wrong way lately but if Brax can get him to see Nate, then maybe he'll consider getting help." Ricky sighs.
"Well I would have said Brax had more chance to get through to Kyle, but after he's started arguing with him as well, I'm not so sure. He's pushing all of us away."
"They'll get through to him, they have to." Ricky says, chucking the dirty nappy in the bin once she buttoned up Emilia's baby grow.
"Has Casey been able to speak to him?" Bianca asks.
"Not really. He's been really busy as the gym, and trying to also focus on Denny. This has put so much strain on their marriage."
"How? Is Denny having doubts about Casey being around his brothers again?" Bianca frowns, remembering it was a huge issue in the start of their relationship.
"Not really, but something was mentioned about reconsidering their future if it turns out it was someone like Pirovic or Gunno who took Lillie. It caused a couple arguments between them because she doesn't want to live in fear of anything else happening." Ricky explains.
"Well I can see some sense in that. But even the police doubt that it was them. Plus it's not their style, they wouldn't steal a baby unless they had something to gain from it. And Pirovic never knew Kyle, so it's unlikely to be him." Bianca says.
"Gunno didn't really know him either, not until later on. But I don't think he would have done it either. I just wish Kyle could have gotten some closure." Ricky sighs, picking Emilia up from the changing table.
"We all do. I can't begin to imagine what he's going through. It must be so scary to know your baby was taken and no one knowing who did it. He thinks they'll be bringing her up as their own, and I really wish that isn't true for his own sake.
"But why Kyle's baby? He was such a great father to her, he went above and beyond to make sure she had everything she needed, despite not having any time to prepare himself." Ricky says.
"Paramedics!" They hear someone call out.
"What?" They frown at each other, even more confused when Heath comes to the door to get them.
"What's going on?" Bianca asks her husband.
"Kyle cut himself really bad, he's bleeding out." Heath says. "Stay here and look after Emilia." He says before following them to the bathroom.
"He cut himself?" Ricky frowns.
"Do you think it was deliberate?" Bianca mutters, neither of them wanting to think it was.
