Misty di has given a lot to the Beyblade fandom, especially to Kaihil. I am so obliged to have a sweet elder di like you. You are the reason I began to like Kaihil too. Earlier I was too immature that I literally strangled every Kaihil fan, but after reading your stories, I got fond of them too. Not only that, the way you write, I can say nothing but, Majestic! I've always learned many things from your writing di, after which I declare, This fic is the best of my writing skills. I worked so hard to make it the best of whatever I've learned from you, di! Hope you like it!

This is purely kaihil, know I have written Tyhil too, but it's Kaihil, hope everyone understood as I didn't explain clearly. One more thing, this story is continued in two time lines- The present and Two Years Ago.

So, shall we begin?

Disclaimer: I don't own Beyblade, The plot is mine along with some poetry which will be here soon. I own the cover image, I myself drew it as b'day gift for dear Misty di.

-VELOX THE KNIGHT 07

It was a stormy night in Bakuten, The raindrops harshly crashing on the roof of the city hospital. Although, the inside was the opposite. People were peacefully sitting on the worn out plastic chairs, some sobbing for their loved ones while some lost in deep thoughts. One of them was a slate-haired Russian man, around 26 years of age. His elbows on his knees, face in palms, Amethysts closed in an attempt to prevent the downpour from his eyes.

"Hiwatari Kai?" A nurse called out, emerging from a room. Kai lifted his face, opening his amethysts, giving the nurse a cold stare.

"Y-You can come see the patient." The female red-head stuttered. He stood up and walked past the nurse, without saying a word.

"Kai." Salima said turning around to see the Russian stop on hearing his name. "Everything will be fine." She said.

"No need of the symphaty, Salima." He said coldly and walked in the room.

The stretcher was occupied with a female figurine, clad in the hospital clothes. Kai walked up to the bed and sat on the nearby stool. He looked up to the patient, trying his best not to break. Slender figure, weakened fingers, pale skin, dry lips, rough brown locks and an emotionless face.

He remembered all those times when her now dry lips used to bloom into a rosy smile whenever he complimented her fair skin. He remembered when he used to comb her beautiful honey-locks, how delighted she became back then. He remembered kissing her smooth palm, how ecastic she was back then. But now, she's right in front of him, almost lifeless, fighting through the will to live, stuck between life and death.

He took her weak palm in his own, slightly caressing it with his thumb. "Hil…" He tried to say something, but failed, her lifeless face was enough to hold him in place.

A light-blue haired guy, a few years older than the former, was standing in front of the room, his auburn orbs glued to the patient as he looked past the translucent glass pane. He sighed, whispering to himself, "I already lost you brother, can't risk to lose her too."

"Kinomiya Hiro Granger?" Someone asked from behind. Hiro turned around to see an on-duty officer with red-fiery hair and icy blue eyes. His fair complexion signaled him being Russian.

"May I know your relation with the patient?" He asked removing his black goggles and taking out a pen from his black coat.

"May I know your whereabouts first?" Hiro asked slightly annoyed by the stranger while the Russian chuckled as he pulled out a passbook from his coat.

"Valkov." He said flipping the passbook open, to show an identity card. "Tala Valkov, On-duty senior investigator, Crime branch, Japan."

Hiro's annoyed expression changed into one of surprise, then of guilt. "I'm sorry, I didn't recognize you."

Tala nodded understandingly. "The answer to my question, Mr. Granger?"

"Hmmn…" Hiro said lost in deep thought. "Relation? She could be my student, in a way. Later, she was like my own younger sister, Earlier…" His eyes watered on remembering someone "Earlier, My younger brother's only love, his fiancée, and my sister-in-law to be."

A smirk plastered on Tala's face, "Interesting."

"No No NO! It's not interesting! It's horrible!" Tala yelled in his panic stricken voice as he frantically read through the case files, sitting on his study table.

"Tala?!" The dual-haired Latina said coming into her room to witness her husband standing in the middle, pulling his hair out of frustration. "What happened, Honey?!"

"Everything is going to be ruined!" Tala yelled at himself "No one will be left alive!"

"Tala?! Just sit and take a breath!" Julia said as Tala obeyed and sat on the edge of the bed, his head in palms.

"Tala…" Julia spoke softly sitting beside him and caressing his hair. "Don't panic. You've solved bigger cases than this one. It's just a mere attempt to murder case of a woman. I know my husband can solve this."

Tala sighed, "It's not just that, Jules."

"Just leave all this for a moment and relax." Julia said moving her hands from his head to his chest, unbuttoning his shirt.

"What are you doing Julie?" Tala asked tiredly "I'm not in the mood, Babes. I'm tired."

"I know." Julia whispered seductively "That's why I want you so badly."

Tala didn't say a word. "Are you trying to resist your super sexy wife?" Julia asked haughtily.

"Okay Jules, as you wish, but just once." Tala said sighing.

Moonlight pierced through the translucent white curtains in the bedroom. Tala's eyes were wide open, even though it was 3 at night. He was intently staring at the ceiling, caressing Julia's hair as her head was peacefully placed on his bare chest.

"Why don't you just sleep?" Julia murmured with her eyes closed.

"You're awake, Jules?" Tala asked as he didn't know that.

"No. I'm asleep. Dreaming about you, sexy." Julia said sarcastically but still sweetly.

Tala just let out a tired sigh which worried Julia even more. "What's the matter?" She asked "What are you worrying about? It's not a big deal to catch the culprit."

"I know Jules." Tala simply said "I know it's not a big task to find the culprit. But I'm afraid of someone else."

"Someone else? Who?" The Spainard asked.

"That cold-hearted serial-killer." Tala answered.

"You… You mean the patient's husband? That Russian whom you took in custody two years ago?" Julia asked remembering the incident.

"Yes. Two years ago, he was the greatest serial killer, the greatest danger for Tokyo." Tala said as a bead of sweat rolled down his face.

"What happened then?" Julia asked perplexed.

A sad smile appeared on Tala's face as he said, "Love happened. He got a reason to live not to kill. We officials were relieved that now he will stop working for Boris, the underworld don, and it happened. He changed because of her, he changed for her."

"But now that culprit who tried to kill his wife, because of him, Hilary is now in coma." He continued with a frown "That scoundrel has put many lives in danger. I know that. That's why I need to hurry, because if I don't find that culprit, then… then chaos will occur. He… he won't leave anyone. Tokyo will lack graveyards to bury bodies. To find the one who got his wife in coma, he will do anything. He will kill anyone!"

A gasp escaped Julia's mouth as she thought of the destruction that would occur.

"That peaceful façade in the hospital" Tala continued with a scowl "It wasn't his peace, it was agony, misery, fury, anger, every emotion of hatred he is storing in his heart. Knives and guns aren't needed to kill, hatred is. And his hatred is growing, leading in an eternal fire of destruction! He will not stop. HIWATARI KAI WILL NOT STOP!"

Two Years Ago…

A light-brown haired guy, nearly 24, was standing in a damp alley near the streets of Bakuten. His eyes glued to a dead body in front of him. He pulled out his smart phone and clicked a picture of the dead, sending it to one of his contacts, named 'Boss'.

Boss, successfully murdered Jim as you said. Waiting for your next command. He texted as he sent the photo.

His phoned beeped showing the inbox message from the Boss.

What the hell? I told you to murder him yesterday. Do you know how late you are? 22 hours to be precise. Learn something from my trustworthy agent, Hiwatari Kai. He murdered Eddy within 5 minutes of finding him. And here you are, following this Jim for last 22 hours. Hopeless.

Spencer sighed "No matter what I do, Boris always appreciates Kai." He said sarcastically.

"You think it's that easy Spencer?" Someone asked from behind. Spencer at once recognized the voice as his ally, the Slate-haired guy.

"Kai? What brought you here?" Spencer asked as he turned around. The alley was dark so he wasn't able to see the Russian but could hear his footsteps approaching him.

"You don't know how selfless I have to be while serving Boris." He continued as he came face to face with Spencer. "And seems like this job is a fucking joke for you. I've been doing this since I was 14, all thanks to Boris. He spends a great deal on raising good serial killers."

"Uhh… What is this conversation leading towards?" Spencer asked feeling uncomfortable all of a sudden.

"It's leading towards…" Kai said opening his amethysts, glaring at Spencer as the later gulped "Towards, YOUR DEATH!" He yelled as a big hole formed in Spencer's stomach as Kai penetrated a dagger in his stomach.

"AHH!" Spencer screamed out of pain as fresh blood seeped from his stomach, knife still in its place. Kai smirked. It was a great relief to see someone whimpering in front of himself. Kai twisted the knife to his right, causing more blood to flow freely as the gore enlarged.

"W…Why?" Spencer asked as his breaths decreased dangerously.

Kai closed his eyes and pulled out his smart phone from his other hand, showing him a text inbox.

It has been long since that coward is increasing burden on us. Finish him, Kai. I don't need couch potatoes for my work, I need loyal killers like you. Finish Spencer. –The Boss

Spencer's heart sank. How could Boris be so heartless? He had been working for him since forever. And this is what he got?

"It was Boris' command, I can't let him down. Rest in Peace, Spencer." Kai said coldly as he pulled out the dagger and cleaned it on Spencer's shirt as he fell down with another scream.

Smirking, Kai turned around to leave. "Loving the fellow beings? Nah. It's not my cup of tea. It's for weaklings. Because when you love someone, you get an attachment, and attachment leads to fear. Human isn't afraid of death. He's afraid of how his loved ones will be after he leaves. That's why, a reason to kill is far better than a reason to love."

After the creepy night, the sun shone brightly on the streets of Bakuten, because that's what life is about. The warm breezes were blowing, ruffling the chocolate-brown locks of a brunette, as she peeped her head out of the window of backseat of the SUV she was sitting in.

"Woohoooo!" She screamed out of joy, as her ecastic ruby orbs blinked in the fast wind.

"Hilary!" An annoyed American blonde yelled out of frustration as he tried not to loose control on the steering because of the brunette's childish antics. "Will you get your head inside?! I'm trying to keep my control on the car!"

Hearing the annoyed voice of the Blonde, who mostly annoys the others but has now fallen victim, A Raven-haired Neko-Jin, sitting on the backseat beside Hilary, broke from his beauty sleep.

"Will you stop yelling, Maxie?" He said with a yawn as he rubbed his eyes.

"Really Maxie." A female blunette, sitting on the passenger's seat chortled "Now you must know how it feels when you annoy us."

"You too, Mariam?!" Max asked with wide eyes "At least you must not make fun of me. Why am I the accused of irritating always?!" He whined as he shifted the gear.

"Because it's just you Maxie." Ray piped in from behind.

"Hey Maxie!" Hilary said sitting in her position on the seat, taking out a camera from her bag "Smile!" She said as a random click captured in the camera and the printout came out.

"Hey!" Max yelled trying to snatch the photo from her hand, and maintaining control on the car as well "I wasn't ready!"

"Aww…" Hilary said looking at the print out "Mariam! Just take a look at this random click of your cute fiancée!" She said shoving the photo in Mariam's face.

"NO! Don't show it to Mariam!" Max said snatching the photo from Hilary before Mariam could see it.

"You're so cute Maxie!" Mariam said laughing loudly.

"Don't laugh Mari." Max said taking a left turn "It's not funny."

"It is Maxie. At least from my perspective." She said chortling as Hilary snatched the photo from Max's hand and sat in her seat.

"It's really a great entertainment." Ray said laughing as Max gave an angry pout.

"Where are we going?" Hilary asked pasting the photo on a fresh page of a blue velvet covered diary.

"You forget?" Mariam asked but covered her mouth when the Blonde signaled her, she realized it wasn't cool to say that to Hilary.

"I forgot again?" The brunette asked innocently, guilt visible on her face.

"No! It's okay Hilary, you remain busy that's why it isn't a big deal." Max said trying to change the topic.

"We're going to Tokyo Police Station." Ray said taking out his smart phone.

"Police Station?!" Hilary asked faking shock "But I'm innocent! I've not done any sin in the name of Dragoon!" She said pleading.

All of them laughed loudly at Hilary's acting. "It's not you Hilary." Max said trying to control his laughter "It's Michael. He got accused of a theft but now he's proved innocent, Remember? We're going to pick him up."

"Ohh. I see." Hilary said understandingly as she flipped the page where she just pasted Ma's photo and began writing.

Dear Tyson, Today I, Max, Mariam, Ray are going to Tokyo Police Station to pick Michael up. After that, We'll probably go to the city mall to buy some clothes for Max and Mariam's marriage reception. Just one month to go and then they both will finally be Happily Married!

"What's next?" The slate-haired Russian asked an orangette as they both stood on a high hill.

"Boris said to kill Spencer." Brooklyn answered.

Kai smirked and pulled out his smart phone to show him the bloody photo of the dead Spencer. Brooklyn gasped, "When?"

"Yesterday midnight." Kai replied diverting his gaze to the open area in front.

"How are you so fast?" Brooklyn asked amazed. I wasn't like he didn't know the answer, but the Russian's cold-heartedness always surprised him.

"Simple. I have a reason to kill. It gives me pleasure." Kai answered with eyes closed.

"What if you got a reason to Love?" Brooklyn asked nonchalantly.

"Like that would ever happen."

"It will perhaps." The orangette said with a shrug "Just like Fedora came in my life, someone will also be there for you."

Kai scowled. He never paid attention to this point and he never will. "Look Brooklyn, Even if it happened, I won't let it." He said with a glare and walked away.

Brooklyn chuckled on seeing the retreating figure, "Mister Cold-hearted is always pissed off when it comes to matters of love."

Suddenly, his phone beeped. He pulled it out to see the inbox message telling their next target.

It's Ian's turn. Kill him before noon. The reason will be told to Hiwatari-kun. You too accompany him today, Brooklyn. –The Boss

Brooklyn sighed. "We got some work to do Kai!"

The sun shone brightly on the waves of the great Tokyo Sea. The clock showed 11:55 am. A purple-haired guy with a big nose was lying on a motor boat, a kilometer away from the sea shore. The boat was moving with the big waves.

"Ahh…" The short guy moaned in pain as the gore on his forehead remind him of the torture he was being put in by a slate-haired and an orangette.

His clothes were soaked in blood seeping from the cuts and slashes visible on his arms and legs. His face was badly bruised with punches and back ached as if his backbone was ripped off.

The Russian had found Ian roaming carefreely in an alleyway, so as commanded by his boss, Kai gave him the best sort of physical torture possible. Brooklyn too was with him, but he rarely got the chance to try his fighting skills on Ian. Because when it came to Boris' commands, Kai never let his guardian down.

After the physical tortures Kai put Ian through, The short guy was thinking why Kai brought him in the middle of the sea.

"No use of waiting so much now. Let's just finish you, Ian whatever-the-hell-your-surname-is." Kai said coldly with his eyes closed and arms crossed.

Brooklyn chuckled, "What style are you trying this time Kai?"

"The cold-hearted serial-killer's style." He answered as he grabbed Ian with his collar.

"Y-You won't be a-able to flee this time, K-Kai." Ian stuttered as the gores on his cheeks ached while speaking.

"Hmmn." Kai nodded "We'll see."

And then it happened. Kai pulled out his trustworthy dagger and pierced Ian's stomach with it as the later screamed in pain. Finally, after bearing so much torture, his soul left the cramped body.

Kai picked him up with his collar and threw the dead body in the sea dusting his hands away after the action.

"K-Kai?" Brooklyn stuttered, his face paled as he read something in his phone.

"What?"

He turned the phone to give a view to the Russian of what he was reading.

Hiwatari-Kun, I know you have killed Papov by now. I have an important command for you. As always, police will arrive by any time there. I know you'll easily escape as always, but I want you to do something else now. Surrender. When the crime branch arrives, throw your hands in the air and kneel down, surrender. Let them arrest you and put you in lock-up. Bear the torture to be put on you while in custody. I'll surely arrive there by time to bail you, my boy. Will tell you the reason later. I know you won't let me down.

-The Boss

"Kai!" Brooklyn yelled as he saw the motor-boats of the crime branch coming towards them.

"We have blocked all ways!" A Russian red-haired officer yelled to the culprits "No need to try to escape this time Hiwatari! Surrender in the name of Law!"

"I surrender Valkov." Kai said dropping to his knees, hands folded behind his head.

"What?" Tala asked shocked by Kai's response. He didn't see that coming. Chasing the serial-killer for a year now, this was surprising for the blue-eyed Russian.

"You risk your life Kai." Brooklyn said, fear evident on his face "I can't stay here and risk my life. It's not for me, Kai. Try to understand, It's for my wife Fedora."

"Human isn't afraid of death. He's afraid of how his loved ones will be after he leaves. That's why, a reason to kill is far better than a reason to love." Kai smirked saying the motive of his life always. "Go Brooklyn, Go."

Brooklyn nodded hastily and jumped out of the boat without a second thought, successful in his escape as the officials were busy in capturing Kai, as he was the biggest threat to them since when he started working for Boris, which was roughly estimated as nearly 10 years.

"Why did you surrender, Kai?" Tala mumbled to himself as his junior officers hand-cuffed the slate-haired who was smirking to himself all the time.

"Where is the gold which Boris' burglars cleared from Mister Dickenson's locker?!" Tala yelled frustrated as his junior officials slashed the Amethysts' owner's back with spined hunters.

Kai's hands were chained to the adjacent walls, his back exposed and legs were a feet above the ground. His back was ripped off with cuts and blood everywhere as the spines of the hunter pierced his skin and were pulled off again from his back. Yet the lone-wolf didn't let a scream escape from his mouth, let alone spilling Boris' secrets.

"Where is the gold?!" Tala yelled angrily as he didn't get an answer even after a straight one hour third degree torture in the worst way possible.

"Stop!" Tala commanded his officials "Leave this room, I'll deal from him now." The officers obeyed and immediately left the room.

The red-head pulled a chair and sat in front of Kai. He scanned the Russian's face to find a sign of fear but got none.

"Pull off the chains, Bryan." He commanded to his officer as the chains opened and Kai fall on the ground right on his chest.

Now Kai's face was right in front of Tala's shoes, just a few inches away. "Hmmn." Tala said "The cold-hearted serial-killer is now under my feet."

Kai didn't say a word. He put both his hands on his side and supported his body up. Painfully sighing, he sat on the ground with legs folded and his gore-covered back straight as if there was no wound there. He lifted his tired Amethysts and looked straight in Tala's blue ones. Smirking, He let out a small chuckle.

"What's so funny?" Tala asked annoyed.

"Nothing. You continue Valkov." He said not breaking the eye contact.

"Okay Kai." Tala said as he leaned forward towards him "Let's make a deal. Like, You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours."

"You've already scratched it in a pretty-fucking way, Valkov." Kai said.

"Funny. You've not changed a bit since we parted in elementary school." Tala chuckled while Kai just stared at him.

"Back to business." Tala leaned further and whispered in Kai's ear "You give me the gold's information, I'll set you free forever."

"I already am free Valkov. Look at my wide wings. It's not different from the Mighty Phoenix Dranzer's wings."

"So, you believe in Dranzer?" Tala asked.

Kai nodded, "I believe in myself, because that's where Dranzer resides."

"I see." Tala said "So what-" But he was cut off by a female voice in the police station.

"What do you mean?" The voice seemed to be scolding someone, yet it was very sweet and joyous "You said that you'll bail Michael today. Besides he's proven innocent so why sweat it?"

The voice seemed a little different to Kai. The light-heartedness, sweetness and most of all, love. Everything was like something new to the lone-wolf. He suddenly felt his heart rate increase and an unknowing feeling of happiness and giddiness blossomed in his heart and stomach, despite the heavy gores on his back. No it wasn't happiness. The cold-hearted serial-killer had never experienced happiness, not once in his life, This couldn't be happiness, why would it be on hearing a stranger's voice.

"You have no idea who I am." The voice continued in the joyous tone. She was scolding but it seemed like she was trying to make everyone laugh, and she actually was.

"Do you know me? I'm respected as the president of Japan." She said proudly.

"How so?" The officer, who was being scolded asked.

"Neither does he visit my home, nor do I visit him!" The girl exclaimed joyfully as a round of laughter rose in the police station.

"What's happening over there, Bryan?" Tala asked confusedly to his junior officer.

"Uhh… Sir it's Hilary again. You remember her, right? She's here to bail Michael." Bryan answered "You know how fun it is when she's around. Always making everyone laugh, this girl is so blissful."

"I know that Bryan. But I'm trying to deal with this sourpuss, can't you tell her to be a little quiet?" He asked, tiredness visible on his face.

"Okay sir." Bryan saluted and went off to tell the girl that she's bothering his senior.

Sighing, Tala began, "Okay, So what-" But again.

"Mister Ivanov?" The girl yelled coming towards the torture room despite Bryan screaming for her not to disturb his senior.

"Don't stop me Mister Bryan." She said "Mister Valkov? Will you listen to me or-"

She stopped mid-sentence as her eyes fell on the blood drenched Phoenix-Prince. Rubies met Amethysts. She looked into his deep eyes, so did he. They didn't feel anything around them, they were alone, in an eternal time where no one could resist them to look away from the other.

What was it? Who knows? But Kai knew something different was there in those rubies. They were ecastic and joyous, but still something told him that they had experienced fear, sadness and grief just like him. Hilary knew the eyes were cold and emotionless yet, inviting. It had something she had also experienced once, Fear, sadness and grief.

"What are you two doing?" Tala asked looking at Kai and then towards Hilary who was standing a few feet away from the bars of the jail.

Their eyes were lost in each other, from such a far distance, but it seemed nothing to them.

"Miss Hilary?" Bosco asked waving his hand in front of Hilary's face but still the brunette was lost, drowning in the Amethysts.

"Hilary?!" Max shook her from her shoulders, so that the rubies broke from the Russian's Amethysts and turned to the Blue-pools.

"What?" She asked innocently, having no idea that she had been lost in the moment for about five minutes, which seemed just a few nanoseconds to the rubies and amethysts.

"We have to go. They are releasing Michael." Max said looking at her worriedly.

"Oh yeah. You're right." Hilary said as Max nodded and turned around to follow Bryan who was directing him to Michael.

Hilary turned around to see the tired Amethysts closed painfully as the gores on his back gave him the sensations of living hell.

"So, let's resume Hiwatari." Tala said to kai who was looking down with eyes closed. "You my proceed with your business, Miss Hilary." He turned around to see her still staring at the lone-wolf.

"Miss Hilary?" He asked suspiciously as he had never seen the brunette being quiet for more than a minute "You're bothering us."

"Oh." Hilary broke her gaze and looked at the officer "Sorry Mister Ivanov, I should go perhaps."

She turned around as Tala nodded and looked towards the Russian who was still in the same position.

"So, We may proceed, Kai-Kun." He said and started the inquires to which he got no answers of.

Hilary turned to capture a last glimpse of the Phoenix-Prince. She pulled out her camera and captured a photo of the lone-wolf. Sitting with crossed legs, face turned downwards with slate bangs covering his closed Amethysts, the side-pose of the Russian with back all slashed up.

Hilary smiled on looking at the photo, pasted it in her diary and began writing something.

Dear Tyson, This is the best choice to complete the long awaited task. He's perfect for it. Those closed Amethysts had all the important essence needed to accomplish that work. I guess I'll approach him as soon as he is bailed out. Finally, Another rescue mission will be accomplished.
