Haha this chapter is really short. This is just another filler. I think a lot of the POVs are going to be shorter like this from now on. For one thing, it helps me to get updates up quicker and keep this story moving along, and for another thing, longer POVs can get real boring to both read and write when there isn't much action in them. If you want me to write longer chapters, let me know in a review or PM, but honestly I kind of doubt anybody's going to care. XD

District 4: Nemo Fisher, Age 18

"Alright, who's going to stay behind at the Cornucopia today?"

There's an awkward pause as we all look at each other, hoping that someone will volunteer. I don't really mind the job, but I've already been out of the game for too long, and I don't want the Capitol to get bored of me. If I keep staying behind to guard the horn, I'll probably look weak, and weak Careers don't usually bode well with the audience.

"Juno, you stay behind," Octavian decides when nobody speaks up.

"No way!" Juno says back. "I'm not doing a boring job like that. You do it."

"I'm the leader of the Careers," Octavian snaps. "You have to do what I say."

"Oh my God. Could you just shut up about-"

"I'll do it."

Octavian scowls when I speak up but doesn't object. I make myself comfortable against the side of the golden horn as my allies head off into the jungle to hunt. Don't get me wrong; I didn't want this job. But I took it to avoid a fight. I know that the Careers made a pact to stick together until the final eight, but I doubt that anybody's really going to stick to it, and if a fight breaks out… well, it probably wouldn't end well for me. So I think I'd rather be boring than dead.

District 11: Angelica Broome, Age 13

I look up and see Cole staring at me again.

Ever since last night, he keeps giving me these little glances. Then when I catch him looking at me, he immediately averts his eyes. I grin back at him. It's kind of cute, honestly.

"I'm going to go looking for some food," Beckett says distantly, standing and grabbing his sword. He walks off without another word.

Beckett is long gone when I hear the sound of crunching leaves. My head whips around and I come face to face with a frog the size of a large dog.

Before I have time to scream, the frog leaps at me, and I barely manage to scramble out of the way. I look for a weapon to defend myself with, but I don't have time to grab anything before the frog jumps at me again. Adrenaline rushes through my body and I roll away before it can crush me.

I jump to my feet to face the mutt when a smacking sound resonates through the air and the frog flies backward. It lands about ten feet away from us and gives us a frightened look before hopping back to where it came from.

I glance behind me and see Cole standing there, a large stick in his hand. I let out a nervous laugh.

"Thanks," I tell him.

"Sure thing," he says. "Let's just hope that thing doesn't come back."

District 3: Scorpius Herin, Age 16

When the anthem played last night, I only saw one face in the sky.

It was Erin that bit the dust. That meant that Albin had somehow managed to get away from the bomb before it blew up. I can't help but feel disappointed. I was hoping to eliminate two competitors with that bomb, which would've meant only half of the original twenty four tributes would be left. Instead, my old ally is still alive and probably very angry at me for betraying him and Erin. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to hunt me down and kill me, just like he attempted with the Careers after his other ally died, the girl from District 7.

Oh, well. That won't be a problem as long as he doesn't find me. And hiding just so happens to be one of my strong suits.

District 1: Ariana Angel, Age 15

"Hey, look! Do you see that-"

"Shhh. I know, I see it."

I decided to let Blaze help me hunt for food today. He's not the best hunting partner, but he makes me feel safe, so I'm okay with him tagging along.

Above us, some unfamiliar furry creature sits on a tree branch. It's completely unaware of our presence. With extreme care, I notch an arrow and draw it back, taking aim on the creature. I take a deep breath and fire the arrow.

The poor little thing lets out a screech as the arrow finds its mark and falls to the ground, dead.

"Nice!" Blaze exclaims. "How are you so good at this?"
"I've had some experience," I say vaguely. "I guess we know what we're having for lunch today."

District 6: Livia Fleet, Age 15

"Alright, your move."
I examine the pieces on the chessboard before moving my pawn up a space. Alyx responds by taking my last remaining bishop with her queen.

"Aww, no fair!" I exclaim.

"It's your turn," Alyx responds, grinning.

"Ummm, okay," I say. "Well, the joke's on you, because now I can move my castle and take your queen."
"You can't move your castle like that!" Alyx laughs. "You can only move them up, down, left, and right. You can't move them diagonally.

"Well, maybe this is a special castle," I say. "Rules are overrated, anyway."

"Fine," Alyx says. "If we're abandoning all logic and reason, then I'm going to move these pieces here and put your king into checkmate."
"Fair enough," I say. "You win. Let's play again!"

District 4: Marine Gray, Age 16

"Do you have any siblings?" I ask Juno as we trek through the jungle.
"Yeah, I've got two little brothers named Slayte and Remus," she says. "They're pretty cool. I bet one day, they'll grow up and win the Hunger Games just like I'm going to. What about you?"

"I have two brothers, too," I say. "One's 17 and one's 15. I hate them both."

"Hey, could you two shut up, please?" Octavian asks, irritated. "You're going to scare away tributes."

"Oh, stop whining," Juno says.

"Guys, remember the truce?" I remind my allies. They both glance at each other and sigh before looking away. I let out a small breath of relief. Even though Octavian drives me crazy, I want the pack to stick together for as long as possible. It's easier to kill tributes as a group than it is to kill them alone. So the longer we stay allies, the better chance I have of winning.

So that was that! Please leave a review if you're able to. Next up will be Night 6!
