Summary: This is an AU story. Definitely McSwarek but in this version Andy and Sam are both 18 and finishing their final year of high school. Sam lives in a new Foster home and has been trying to get his shit together after being caught stealing and selling car parts. Andy is just trying to finish school with her sanity and keep her dad from drinking himself to death.

Traci is in this one too. In this version her and Andy went to the same high school and when Traci got pregnant all her friends abandoned her but she found Andy and they became besties.

Chapter 1:

"Andy just come to the party tonight. How many times do you actually get to have fun?"

Andy sighs.

"I know you are right Traci. Is your mom watching Leo?"

"Yeah, She actually told me to go. We only have a few months left of high school maybe we should enjoy it a little?"

"But a party? Drinking?"

"We do not have to drink."

"I know… what if..."

"ANDY. Chill. We'll be together. It will be FUN!" Traci says excitedly.

"Okay… if you say so."

"YES! Now, lets find you an outfit!" She says running to her closet.

Andy already feels like this might not be her best choice, but her dad is out of town for 3 days for a detective conference and she knows he is safe. She can afford to just be a kid for a night. She hopes.

Meanwhile a similar conversation is happening a few doors down at Jerry's house.

"Sammy buddy… we know you are new in town. This will help you make friends." Oliver persuades.

"Uh… I have you two don't I? That's pretty good for living here for a week." Sam says.

"Come on… lots of girls to meet." Jerry adds in.

"Girls? Jerry really? You don't even have any prospects on that front what are you talking about?" Oliver questions.

Jerry scoffs. "Oh hush you. We can't all be in love with the prom queen."

"Hey she's not prom queen yet… prom is months from now." Oliver quips.

"You didn't deny your unyielding love though." Sam notices.

"Oh well… um… yeah. I might have told Zoe I do love her."

Both Sam and Jerry's eyebrows shoot up.

"You did?"

Jerry makes a whipping sound.

"I am not whipped Jer. I just know what I feel and know how to say it." Oliver defends himself.

"So… Sammy… this party?" Jerry asks trying to get the focus back where he wants it.

Sam sighs. "Will it get you to leave me alone about the next party whenever that is?"

"Yes." Jerry says with a smirk knowing he is lying.

"Okay I'll go for an hour."

Jerry and Oliver smile at each other.

"Great man! It's gonna be great.

Sam shakes his head and looks out the window. He actually had never been to a high school party. One time a few years ago he picked up his drunk sister and her friends from a really trashy one. Hopefully this didn't turn out like one of those parties.

The original party started just after 8 with just a few people listening to music and quickly turned into a full out rager and before it even got going it was shut down.

Traci and Jerry both received texts from their friend Noelle.

"Party shut down already! Shit show. New plan. SMALLER party at 550 Queens Quay apt. 3."

Traci knew if she told Andy the original party was shut down she would be unwilling to go so she kept it to herself.

Jerry was having similar thoughts about Sam. He didn't know the full details but he had seen him spooked by the cops just the other day.

550 Queens Quay was a nice apartment building near the waterfront. It was actually only a short walk to the water so when they pulled up Andy thought if she needed a break she knew where she would go.

Andy and Traci walked in a saw only like 5 people standing in the living room.

Andys eyebrows flew up.

"Are we early?" She whispered to Traci.

Traci shrugged and headed for Noelle.

"Hey!" She said hugging her.

"Hey Trace, Glad you could come. Is this Andy?"

Andy smiled and stuck out her hand.

Noelle and Traci had several classes together.

"I am. Hey! Nice to meet you."

"You too. Drink?" She offered pointing to the table full of beverages and snacks.

Andy looked down and picked a ginger ale. A nice safe choice.

"Thanks!"

Traci picked a beer and shrugged at Andy.

"So uh… Noelle? Where are all the guests?" Andy asked.

"Well Andy… this is good party so less is more." She smiled.

"Okay." She said shrugging.

30 minutes later Noelle announced it was game time and everyone had to fill a drink and find a seat in the living room or else.

Noelle plopped in the center of the sofa with her boyfriend Frank on her left and a pretty blonde guy (Luke) on her right. Next to Frank, Jerry and Sam sat on a couch. Andy and Traci pulled some chairs across from Noelle. Oliver pulled a chair for Zoe and then sat on the floor next to her and finally a hot blonde girl, named Gail sat on the floor between Oliver and Luke.

Noelle introduced everyone and told them they had 3 choices of games. They would vote and the winning game was played first.

1. Never have I ever (you drink if you've done it.)

2. Truth or Dare (you drink if the person you ask does what they are instructed)

3. Spin the bottle.

Noelle chuckled when all the girls groaned at the last one. They voted and Truth or Dare was unanimously voted to be played.

They played for a few minutes with everyone laughing and drinking and giggling. Before her next Traci got up and got 2 more beers and handed one to Andy.

She sighed but held on to it.

Jerry was up. "Okay SAMMY, I dare you to kiss one of these fine ladies."

Sam was not one to back down from a dare. He looked at his options. He knew Noelle was out she was Clearly with Frank. Zoe was out. So he had 3 choices.

The blonde looked like she expected it to be her she smiled and Sam thought about it, but the brunette next to him was appealing and she was the closest so he just reached over and tilted her face to his and gave her a tiny little smooch.

"WOO!" Jerry shouted.

Andy was taken off guard. But smiled. He was hot and it was just an innocent kiss that was only 1 second.

Sam was up next he had to ask Andy.

"Truth or Dare?"

"Um… Dare." She said. She was not the type to spill her truths and had picked dare every time.

He thinks.

"I dare you to chug that beer as fast as you can."

Traci laughed.

Andy narrowed her eyes at her friend.

"Okay Sam." She popped the bottle open and drained it in about 4 seconds.

Everyone was impressed.

She smiled at Sam as she set the empty bottle on the floor.

He grinned back. This girl was beautiful. Accepted dares and her smile… ohh…

Traci dared a buzzed Zoe to straddle Oliver and give him a small lap dance.

She refused and drank instead.

It was Jerry's turn again for Sam.

"Sam buddy. Truth or dare?" He asked knowing it would be dare and knowing he was going to act like a complete 12 year old.

"Dare."

"I dare you to spend 7 minutes of heaven in the closet with Andy."

Andy turned scarlet.

"Wh- what?" She asked.

"I mean you can both just drink instead."

Sam stood up and held out his hand to Andy.

She looked up at him and then took his hand.

She followed him into the closet that their friends then locked

Sam just stared at her for a few seconds.

"Uh… we just have to stand here… I mean. I won't do anything." He said a little nervously.

She smiled. "Thanks… I mean… seven minutes isn't really that long."

Sam's eyebrows twitched at the double meaning.

"Yeah… So uh do you go to parties a lot?" He was making awkward small talk.

She giggled. "No. Never really."

He smiled. That was a great laugh.

"Me neither. I just moved here and these guys are already roping me into stuff."

"Yeah, Were did you move from?"

Sam tensed up a little.

"Uh…"

"Sorry" She said touching his arm to relax him.

He looked at her eyes.

"I lived in Scarborough." He said a little huskily.

Her hand was still on his arm and she bit her lip.

He used his other hand and gently brushed her hair behind her ear and left his hand on her neck.

The attraction was palpable in the small closet.

Neither knew how many minutes they just stared at each other touching.

Then the door flung open and they both stepped back from each other.

Andy was blushing a flaming red.

The game went on and finally Noelle announced it was time for Never have I ever.

Oliver and Zoe excused themselves to cozy up in another room.

Gail and Luke left obviously going to hook up.

Traci and Jerry had a vibe going and Noelle and Frank were together.

Noelle made sure everyone had fresh drinks.

Andy was on her third beer and was enjoying herself.

Noelle went first.

"Never have I ever peed in a pool"

Everyone drank.

"Really? GROSS!" She says.

Frank – "Never have I ever kissed an animal."

Jerry drank.

Jerry – " Never have I ever pulled a push door."

Andy and Traci both laughed and drank. Frank drank.

Sam – "Never have I ever drivin a car naked." He winked at Andy. He had just been told the story.

Noelle, Frank and Jerry Drank but everyone was surprised when Traci did too.

Andy – " Never have I ever lost someone and followed the wrong person in a crowd."

Traci drank and shook her head at Andy.

Traci – "Never have I ever kissed a stranger."

Andy and Sam made eye contact and then drank. She blushed.

Noelle - "Never have I ever had a one night stand."

Frank, Jerry and Traci each drank. Sam looked at Andy wanting to know if she had. She blushed and looked away.

Frank – " Never have I ever been in handcuffs for any reason." He smirked at Noelle.

Noelle drank. Sam drank too. Andy noticed that his cheeks got slightly pink. He didn't like that question.

Jerry – " Never have I ever showered with someone."

Andy and Traci looked at each other, giggled and drank. Andy was empty. Before she could move Sam handed her another beer.

"Thank you." She said with a smile. "You're welcome."

Sam – "Never have I ever given/received a lap dance."

Noelle drank. Frank drank.

Andy – "Never have I ever smoked anything."

No one drank.

"Andy you have to drink if no one's done it Noelle announced."

Andy frowned she would have bet that one of them had, but took a sip anyway.

Traci – " Never have I ever walked in on anyone doing it."

Jerry and Sam drank. They walked in on Oliver and Zoe 2 nights ago.

They went another 2 or 3 rounds and Andy was feeling the 4 beers.

Finally she decided she needed some air.

She went to the kitchen and got a water. Sam waited a few seconds then followed.

"Hey… you okay?" He asked.

She smiled.

"Yeah… I just… honestly, I don't drink a lot so I'm probably a little drunk."

He could tell.

"Yeah… you are."

"So…" She said getting in his personal space a little. Her drinks were making her a little less guarded.

He smiled and brushed her hair behind her ear again.

She looked into his eyes and was leaning forward when Traci came in.

"Hey dude…" Traci started. Andy backed up and smiled at Traci.

"Oh uhh sorry… look Jerry wants to go down to the water front so you two want to come?"

Andy bit her lip. She didn't want Traci to go alone… or be a third wheel.

She looked at Sam.

He smiled. "Sure, let's go." He said offering Andy his hand.

She blushed and interlaced their fingers.

They walked across the street and into the park they found some benches while Jerry and Traci went towards the water.

"So…" He said.

She smiled remembering that that's what she had said getting into his space.

"Sam?"

"Yeah?"

"I've never kissed a stranger before."

"Me neither."

"And I've never played 7 minutes in heaven before."

"Uh… I have but not like tonight." He clears his throat.

She licks her lips. She's not sure if it's the beer or him.

"I've never been um… intimate with anyone." She said blushing scarlet.

He stares at her.

"You haven't? but… you're beautiful." He questions.

Andy glares.

"You think I'm pretty so I should be a slut?" She asks pulling her arms across her chest.

"Oh shit… no. Andy, That's not what I said…" He puts his hand on her jean clad knee.

"I've only done it once. It was… uh… not so good and I regret it and it was three years ago, I was only 15."

She softens and looks at him.

"Wow… 15 is young."

"I know… it was a mistake. She was older and convinced me she would rock my world." He says with a roll of his eyes. He isn't sure why he is being so honest with this girl.

Andy smirks. "Did she?"

"What?"

"Did she rock your world?"

His jaw twitches.

"Not exactly… It uh… it was embarrassing for me."

Somehow they are a lot closer and Andy leans her head on his shoulder.

She sighs.

"Maybe a new conversation?" She suggests sensing he is uncomfortable.

He tilts her head up and kisses her twice, really softly.

"I'm not honest or vulnerable like this with many people. I like to keep things to myself."

"I'm not going to spill your secrets if that is what you are thinking."

"No. I don't know how or why but I trust you Andy. I don't even know your last name but…" He smiles. "I know I can trust you." He leans forward and cups her face and kisses her again.

"McNally." She says leaning in for another kiss.

He backs up. "What?"

"My last name… it's McNally. Andy McNally."

Sam backs up again.

"As in a Detective McNally?"

Now Andy backs up. He shouldn't know him. "Um…my dad… um…How do you know him?"

Sam folds his hands in his lap. This is not how he saw this night going.

"Um… I don't know him really. He uh… He arrested a family member of mine."

Andy remembers the handcuff question.

She can't help herself.

"A family member or you?" She asks a little harsher than she meant but her dad is a homicide detective.

He swallows. "My dad."

Her eyebrows go up.

"I was with him though… I wasn't arrested though and I didn't do anything wrong." He wants her to know that.

She softens a little.

"You don't have to tell me. I know you said you like to keep things to yourself."

"I imagine you do too." He says.

"What does that mean?"

"I'm not judging okay? I paid attention to Detective McNally's name because he wasn't quite sober when they picked up my dad."

Andy shuts down. Her dad's drinking is not a topic up for discussion.

"Okay. I'm done with this conversation. I should find Traci." She says standing up.

Sam stands too and spins her around and bends his knees a little so they are eye to eye.

"Andy… I didn't mean to offend you. I would like very much to get to know you better and now that we know we can just leave the dad topics off the table. I don't even see mine anymore so…"

She considers it. She barely sees her own father because he's either working or drinking or apparently both.

"I'm sorry, Sam. I just… that's a weird connection for us to have." She says.

He pulls her closer.

"It is. But still maybe we can get to know each other?" he hopes.

She smiles. She is definitely liking him already.

"Yes. I would like that Sam."

She sits back down and puts her hands in her lap.

He sits next to her wondering what his next move could possibly be. He really wants to know this beautiful girl.
