Chapter 5 The Revelation
(To My Loyal Guest please enough with the negativity since I've honestly had enough of it from you in my life. Please stop)
It's been a couple days since Korra joined the Fire Ferrets and since she picked up the movements of Airbending which made her confidence go up about doing airbending real soon.
Of course right now she was in the gym early in the morning much to her displeasure. Sean was there of course keeping an eye on her.
Suddenly a ball was thrown at Korra before she caught it.
"Whats the big idea with making me train this early in the morning? The morning is Evil." Korra said making Sean snort.
"Oh bullshit I seem to recall when you were a kid you'd wake up at the crack of dawn to play." Sean said making her grin before throwing the ball at him which he caught with his thumb and trigger finger. "Is that the best you can do?" Sean asked making her snicker.
"We're the rookies. So we get the worst time in the Gym." Bolin said.
"And you're the rookiest of us all. We gotta get you up to speed if we want to survive in the tournament. Deal with it." Mako said tossing her another ball making her grunt.
"You deal with it!" Korra said throwing it back harder making him grunt as he landed on his back.
"HAHAHA!" Sean laughed as Korra smirked before someone walked in.
"There are my little hardworking street urchins." He said walking to them. "An honor to finally meet you Avatar and your protector."
"And you would be?" Sean asked.
"Butakha. I run this whole pro bending Shebang." Butakha said making Sean and Korra look at each other before the former shrugged before they walked away just as he gave Mako some money. "Heres your winnings from the last match." Butakha said making him grin about to take it. "Ah, ah, ah. But not so fast. First you owe me for the Avatar's new gear, and gym and equipment rentals for last month." Butakha said taking some of his money back. (I knew right away this was gonna happen)
"Oh for the love of Zeus." Sean said disgusted.
"Rent on your Apartment, and a personal loan for groceries." Butakha said taking it all making him glare at Bolin.
"What? I'm a growing boy!" Bolin said making Sean and Korra chuckle in amusement.
"So much for keeping the cash." Sean said.
"Oh, and one more small item of business. The Fire Ferrets need to Ante up 30,000 Yuans for the championship pot." Butakha said shocking all of them.
"Say what?!" Sean yelled.
"30,000 Yuans!" Bolin yelled.
"Sorry, kids. You've got till the end of the week to come up with the money or else you're out off the tournament." He said before leaving just as Korra and Sean approached the two.
"You two wouldn't happen a secret bank account overflowing with gold would you?" Bolin asked making Korra pull out her pockets showing they were empty.
"I got nothing." Korra said.
"I have a huge fortune...But it's in Sparta and I haven't been there since the incident." Sean said scratching his head.
"I've never really needed money. I've always had people taking care of me." Korra said making Sean chuckle.
"Then I wouldn't say you had nothing." Mako said picking up a ball.
"Sorry I didn't mean..." Korra tried to say.
"No, it's all right, it's just...ever since we lost our parents, We've been on our own." Bolin said.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't know." Korra said.
"So anyway...How are we gonna come up with the money?" Mako asked.
"Ooh, Ooh, I got it, I got it. I've been training Pabu to do Circus Tricks. Now people would pay good money to see that." Bolin said holding Pabu up making Sean snort in amusement.
"Uh I don't think thats gonna work. Might make some small change but not the money you need." Sean said.
"Come on, Bolin. We need serious ideas." Mako said leaving.
"We gotta go." Sean said as he and Korra left.
"I feel sorry for them." Korra said.
"I'm sure you do. As for the money part I'm out of ideas since I'm not going back to Sparta. I couldn't even if I wanted to." Sean said.
"What do you mean?" Korra asked.
"Theres a barrier around these lands that prevents anyone from the outside from entering or leaving from the inside. It's how the world hasn't found it." Sean said.
"Oh I get it. Still...Would you ever go back if you could?" Korra asked.
"No." Sean said simply.
Later
After bending Practice Korra was doing the airbending moves again using the training tool as Ikki and Jinora used airbending to move it while Sean watched.
"Good. Light on your feet." Sean said before she came to him without getting touched. "Very good. Your starting to get this down. Your one step closer to airbending." Sean said making her smile at the praise before Jinora noticed Mako walking up the stairs.
"Ooh, he's cute." Jinora said making Sean and Korra look seeing him.
"Oh for the love of. Aren't you a little young for boys?" Sean asked making her giggle.
"Is that the firebender boy who drives you Crazy Korra?" Jinora asked.
"Does he drive you crazy in a bad way? Or does he drive you crazy like you like him?" Ikki teased.
"The First." Korra said plainly before Earthbending them away before they faced him as the girls landed using airbending and giggled.
"Hey Mako." Sean said.
"You two seen Bolin?" Mako asked.
"Nice to see you too. And no, we haven't seen him since practice. Think something's wrong?" Korra asked.
"I don't know. Bolin has a knack for getting into stupid situations. See ya later." Mako said leaving.
"Wait. We could help you look for him." Korra said.
"Nah, I got it." Mako said before Sean stopped him.
"Hey, Cool guy, let us help you." Korra said grinning. "We can take Naga and Spyro." Korra said.
"Who's Naga and Spyro?" Mako asked confused.
"Our best friends, and great trackers." Korra said.
Later
Sean, Mako and Korra were on Naga while Spyro was on Sean's shoulder in smaller size.
"Your best friends are a dragon who can shrink and grow and a polar bear dog. Somehow that makes perfect sense." Mako said making Sean chuckle.
"We'll take that as a compliment , City boy." Korra said.
The three arrived at Central City station.
"Well, this is his usual hangout." Mako said as they got off.
Seeing a few kids playing Mako approached one.
"You guys see my brother around here today?" Mako asked.
"Perhaps...My memory's a little...Foggy."
Sean scoffed in amusement.
"It's like this city is greedy down to the children." Sean said making Korra giggle.
"Your good, Skoochy. A real pro." Mako said handing him some change.
"Yeah, I've seen him." Skoochy said.
"When?" Mako asked.
"About Noon." Skoochy said.
"The hell was he doing?" Sean asked.
"He was performing. some kind of monkey-rat circus." Skoochy said making Sean chuckle.
"Well at least he's determined I'll give him that." Sean said making Korra smile.
"And then..." Skoochy trailed off holding his hand out making Mako sigh before paying him again.
"And then what? Why'd he leave?" Mako asked.
"Shady Shin showed up and flashed some serious cash. Bo took off with him in his hot rod. The Triple Threats, the Red Monsoons, The Agni Kai's. All the Triads are muscling up for something real big. Now that's all you're getting out of me." Skoochy said running off.
"What's he talking about?" Korra asked concerned.
"Sounds like theres a Turf war brewing, And Bolin's about to get caught right in the middle of it." Mako said before they got back on Naga and ran off.
"So where are we headed?" Korra asked.
"The Triple threat triad's headquarters. Hopefully Bolin's there and nothing's gone down yet." Mako said.
"Triple Threat Triad? Sean killed some of them when we first got here." Korra said.
"You did what!" Mako asked in shock.
"Oh take it easy." Sean said before Naga growled as she chased Pabu before he climbed up a street light.
"Thats, Pabu." Mako said as Naga barked.
"No, Naga. Pabu's a friend, not a snack." Korra said as they sniffed each other before Pabu got on Mako's shoulders.
"We gotta hurry." Mako said.
Soon they came to the Triad's headquarters.
"Odd. Shouldn't there be guards out here?" Sean asked taking his blades in hand.
"Yeah...There are usually some thugs covering the doors." Mako said before Sean sliced the doors before kicking them down.
Walking inside they saw the place was a wreck before Sean looked around.
"There was defiantly a fight here. But I don't think between the other gangs. Something feels...Off." Sean said.
"Bolin? You in here?" Mako asked before they heard engine revs making them rush outside seeing one large truck and people on bikes before they saw Bolin in the back as it drove off. Taking them were men and women in strange gear.
"Bolin!" Mako yelled as hey ran after them only for two of them to throw green smoke at them. This gave them the chance to drive off.
"Naga, come!" Korra yelled before she arrived and they jumped on her back as she chased them.
"Who are these guys?" Sean asked before pulling out his blades before swinging at them but they dodged before one of them threw a knife at him only for it to bounce off his armor.
Korra quickly Earthbent one of them up but she landed with ease.
"These guys are bugging me." Sean said throwing a thunderbolt at them before Three pulled over and threw a gadget at Naga's feet making her trip before Sean grabbed Korra and Mako before jumping off and landed on his feet.
The three than attacked them using what was known as Chi blocking moves.
"Careful these guys are no joke!" Sean yelled dodging A man's attacks before grabbing his arms.
"We know exactly who you are. Demon of Sparta."
Sean growled before kicking him back.
"Do NOT call me that." Sean said. (In Chapter Two I meant for Unalaq to call him this but I messed up)
Sean pulled out his blades before swinging them around before seeing Korra and Mako go down before Spyro in his large form appeared in front of them and roared at their attackers before breathing fire at them reducing them to ash.
The last one ran off before getting on his bike and drove off.
Korra quickly tried to Fire bend but couldn't.
"I can't bend!" Korra said before trying it again. "I can't bend!" Korra yelled worried.
"Easy calm down." Sean said rubbing her shoulders.
"Why can't I bend?" Korra asked.
"These guys are Chi blockers. It's a tricky but effective Martial arts study. It blocks off your Chi Paths temporarily which prevents you from bending. It'll wear off soon enough." Sean said reassuring her. "But who the hell were those guys?" Sean asked confused.
"Those guys are Amon's henchmen." Mako said.
"Amon? We heard that name from some protestor when we first arrived. Some kind of Anti-bending leader?" Korra asked.
"Yeah, he's the leader of the equalists." Mako said.
"What do they want with the Triple threats?" Korra asked.
"Nothing Good I can assume." Sean said.
"I can't believe Bolin got himself into this mess." Mako said.
"Don't worry we'll find him." Korra said.
"And I know where to look." Sean said grinning.
Later
The three were the Central park where they met the Peasant the first time.
"Sean?" Korra asked.
"Yes?" Sean said as Mako slept.
"What did that guy call you before? The Demon of Sparta?" Korra asked making him sigh.
"It's a name I was given after the incident. One I rightfully deserve. The things I did and the people I killed. They were right to call me that." Sean said ashamed.
"Why exactly did you do those things?" Korra asked.
"Ah. I was young and stupid. I craved power and I was drunk with it. But I didn't get this title being a Captain in the Spartan Army if thats what your thinking. No...It just led me down that path a few months after I got that rank when I was 15." Sean said.
Korra was about to ask more when.
"EQUALITY NOW! EQUALITY NOW!" The peasant yelled.
Korra growled annoyed before Mako woke up with a yawn.
"What I miss?" Mako asked.
"Don't ask." Korra said annoyed making him raise an eyebrow before looking at Sean who shrugged as they walked to the Peasant.
"It's time for the..." The Peasant trailed off seeing the two. "It's you two again. You cannot silence me Avatar or your slave!" The Peasant yelled before Sean smacked him down making him shriek like a girl.
"Shut your fucking mouth virgin fucker and listen up." Sean said with a deathly glare making him shiver in fear.
"Our friend got kidnapped by some Chi-blockers. Where'd they take him?" Korra asked.
"I have no idea what your talking about." The Peasant said before shrieking as Sean stomped on his hand hard.
"You care to repeat that?" Sean asked before taking some flyers. "Witness the Revelation tonight, 9:00. The fuck is this about?" Sean asked.
"Nothing that concerns the likes of you three." The Peasant said before yelling louder as Sean put more pressure on his hand.
"TALK!" Sean yelled.
"No one knows what the Revelation is! And I have no idea what happened to your friend! I swear!"
"I believe you." Sean said before kicking him into the pond before they walked away. "Dumbass." Sean said as he grabbed a few fliers.
Soon the three were at a stop.
"Why didn't the equalists put a location on these?" Korra asked.
"Why do you think? To make sure not just anyone can find the location of this revelation." Sean said.
"He's got a point. There are four pictures on these." Mako said.
"So...It's a puzzle." Korra said before Sean put them together.
"Oh a map." Sean said before placing them on a map of Republic City before he found what he was looking for. "Bingo." Sean said making Korra grin.
"And you said you hated puzzles." Korra said amused making him smirk.
"Only the ones that involve life or death." Sean said. (God of War puzzles are a huge pain sometimes when it comes to surviving them)
Later
Soon the three arrived at the location. They were dressed in more civilians clothing.
"I fucking hate these clothes." Sean said as his armor was covered up making Korra giggle.
"I don't know. They kinda look good on you." Korra said.
"Zip it." Sean said before a bouncer stopped them.
"This is a Private event. No one gets in without an invitation."
"You mean this?" Sean asked handing him a flyer making him grin.
"The Revelation is upon us, my brothers and sister."
Entering inside they were surprising by the amount of people here.
"I know people can feel hatred for others but this is ridiculous." Korra said.
"Hatred is a strong motivation for people like this. Criminal benders have taken lives or ruined them for cruel and greedy reasons. It's no surprise that hatred spreads and this is the result." Sean said as they got up top for a perfect view before the lights on the stage came on.
"Please welcome your hero, your savior, Amon!"
The Crowd cheered as Amon and his followers appeared on the stage. Korra for some reason shook for a minute before Sean placed a reassuring hand on hers calming her down.
"It's all right." Sean said keeping her calm.
"My quest for Equality began many years ago. When I was a boy, my family and I lived on a farm. We weren't rich, and none of us were benders. This made us very easy targets for the firbender who extorted my father. One day, My father confronted this man, But when he did that firebender took my family from me then he took my face. I've been forced to hide behind a mask ever since." Amon said.
"Hmm." Sean said listening to this story.
"As you know, The Avatar and her protector the son of Zeus and legendary Demon of Sparta arrived in Republic City." Amon said getting the crowd to boo while Sean looked pissed being called that name again while Korra covered up some more.
"One was meant to protect both benders and none benders but like all her predecessors she has failed. And the so called Honorable son of Zeus...Is nothing but a monster who murdered by the thousands in a quest for ultimate power." Amon said.
"How does he know so much about you?" Korra asked.
"I don't know. My history was only shared with certain people in high places like the White Lotus and the council of Republic City. It's possible someone talked or perhaps someone got past the barrier that separates these lands from the rest of the world and told the stories." Sean said.
"Both of them have failed the world. Both the Avatar and the Demon have brought nothing but suffering." Amon said getting many to agree. "But everything is about to change. I know you've all been wondering, What is the Revelation? You are about to get your answer. Since the beginning of Time, the Spirits have acted as guardians of our world. And they have spoken to me. They say the Avatar has failed Humanity." Amon said.
Korra glared at him for that remark.
"That is why they have given me a power to make equality a reality. The power to take a benders power...Permanently." Amon said shocking her and everyone else.
"That's impossible. Theres no way." Korra said to Sean.
"I would agree but Aang was taught how to do that from a mountain lion turtle. Perhaps there are other ways to do what he did." Sean said before someone was dragged out.
"Now for a demonstration. Please welcome Lightning Bolt Zolt, Leader of the Triple threat Triad, and one of the most notorious criminals in Republic City." Amon said as the people booed him.
"Ah fuck you!" Zolt yelled as others came out tied up including Bolin.
"Bolin you idiot." Mako said seeing the trouble his brother got in.
"Uh where's Sean?" Korra asked not seeing him.
"Zolt has amassed a fortune by..." Amon tried to say before he and his followers heard footsteps from the shadows before Sean in his armor appeared before him shocking the crowd. "Unexpected. The Demon of Sparta." Amon said.
"Do NOT call me that." Sean said threateningly.
"Get me out of here and I'll pay you..." Zolt tried to say before Amon grabbed his head before he started groaning in pain before he was let go and untied making him growl before he tried to firebend him but couldn't
"So you spoke the truth. You can take a bender's power away. But you won't be taking his." Sean said freeing Bolin. "He's far from a criminal. Simply the wrong place at the wrong time." Sean said.
"Yes, Exactly...Can I go now?" Bolin asked before Korra and Mako rushed in.
"I'm curious as to how you know so much about me. My legends are in the lands of Greece and not the lands my father created." Sean said.
"There are small gaps in the barrier that shield this world from the rest of it. Coming through this gap were story tellers who told your story. A fierce captain in the Spartan Army who turned into a monster who slaughtered thousands for power...Until a certain incident occurred." Amon said making him growl at that reminder. "Of course there is a way to redeem yourself. Join me and help my equalists purge the curse of bending in these lands...Forever." Amon said before Sean looked at his friends and Korra before snarling.
"No." Sean said.
"So be it." Amon said before his followers attacked them only for Sean to slam his foot down causing the stadium to shake before coming apart making everyone scatter.
"MOVE!" Sean yelled as he and his group ran out. The Equalists were about to follow.
"Let them go. They will be the perfect messengers to tell about my power." Amon said.
Later
Tenzin was talking with members of the White Lotus before seeing the two and rushed to them.
"Thank goodness. I was just about to send out a search party. Are you both all right?" Tenzin asked making Korra shake her head. "Korra, What happened? Did you find your friend." Tenzin asked.
"We found him. But it's where we found thats concerning. We were at an Equalist rally. We saw Amon." Sean said.
"What?" Tenzin asked.
"He can take people's bending away...For good." Korra said,
"That's...That's imposible. Only the Avatar has ever possessed that ability." Tenzin said.
"But we saw him do it." Korra said as Sean placed his hands on her shoulders.
"I believe you both. I don't know how Amon has achieved this power. But it's clear the revolution is more dangerous than ever. No bender is safe." Tenzin said looking at the city.
Sean soon found himself on the beach.
"A monster who slaughtered thousands for power." Amon's voice rang in his head making him growl before punching a tree making it fall down.
"No Matter where I go my past follows me." Sean said.
"Sean?" Korra said walking to him in concern seeing the fallen tree. "Are...You gonna be ok?" Korra asked.
"No. No matter where I go my damn past follows me." Sean said looking at the ocean before she gently grabbed his hand making him look at her.
"I may not know what you did 300 years ago...But I know this. That Demon isn't you anymore. This is the real you now." Korra said gently making him smile softly before holding her close.
"Thanks." Sean said.
Authors Note: Huh I got this done faster than expected. Amon's words really bugged Sean more than anything. Now Next Chapter we dig further into Sean's past. Not all of it just a piece.
