Chapter 8:
"Dad! Hey" Andy shouts.
He barely noticed her on his journey to the kitchen.
"Hey Kiddo." He slurs.
Andy turns bright red. She is so embarressed right now.
Sam pats her knee trying to be comforting.
Andy stands up and goes into the kitchen. Careful of her ankle.
Tommy is getting out a glass and pouring himself a drink.
"Dad! We have company." She implores.
Tommy looks around.
"Oh kiddo. I forgot about your date."
Andy blushes again.
Sam smiles. He's glad she at least mentioned a date to her father.
"Dad… um… This is Sam." She introduces. "Sam… this is my dad… Tommy McNally."
Sam stands up and goes to shake her dad's hand.
"Sam Swarek sir. Nice to meet you."
Tommy shakes his hand. A little too hard to be friendly.
"Nice to meet you too. I'm uh… just going to bed. Andy… uh… bed by 11?"
Andy nods. She is a firey red color.
Tommy and his brown bag head down the hallway.
Sam slinks back to the coach and pats the side next to him.
Andy colapses on the couch and tries to burry herself in the throw pillow.
"Hey… it's okay. I'm still here." He smiles.
She leans into him for a hug.
"That you are… Are you perfect or something?"
He smiles.
"Definitely the or something."
He kisses her again. She licks his lip this time and he parts his lips allowing her access.
She pulls back suddenly.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know when he would be back."
"I'm not upset. Parents do ocasionally come home. I'm good Andy. Relax."
Then he kissed her again and it turned into a full make out session.
Andy crawled into Sam's lap and straddled him.
Sam smiled into her neck as he kissed her throat and her collar bone.
Suddenly they heard a crash from down the hall. Andy knew it was from her father's room.
She frowned.
"I'm sorry. He either dropped his bottle or threw it. I'll be right back."
He waited patiently for her to return. Apparently our father's have a similar taste in booze and distruction. He thought.
Andy came back a little over five minutes later.
"He's fine. The bottle slipped when he passed out."
She sat down and put her face in her hands.
"Hey… I'm not judging Andy. Obviously you know I'm in foster care so… my home life wasn't great either."
Andy frowned again.
"I'm not sure that I like that we can bound over that but I'm glad you are not judging. He's wonderful sometimes. Really."
Sam smiled. "I believe you Andy. Come here."
He pulled her back onto his lap and she giggled.
"I really like you." Sam said.
Andy blushed and smiled.
"I really like you too."
They made out for another fifteen minutes and Andy didn't even squirm when Sam put his hands on her butt. She may have smiled though.
Eventually Sam had to go or Mrs. Brenda would be upset.
"See you tomorrow McNally."
"See ya Swarek." She said with a smile.
For the rest of the week they hang out and made out a bunch.
Tuesday Andy should have had practice but she was still hurting and was told to go home. So Sam came over and they "watched movies" really all they did was make out on the couch while a movie played near them.
Wednesday and Thursday were basically the same except they went to Jerry's house and hung out with him and Traci and Oliver and they had a little less making out since they weren't alone.
Thursday night Sam asked Andy if she was allowed to have sleepovers.
"Sam… I mean…. Yes… but probably not with my boyfriend."
"So… don't say that… just say you are staying at a friends. Mrs. Brenda will be gone for the night tomorrow."
"He'll probably ask which friend…"
She wondered if this was Sam asking or hinting to have sex. They had only been together a week. She hoped he wasn't going to pressure her.
"Sam? Is this about sex?" She boldly asked.
He choked a little on his drink.
"No. I… I just want to spend time with you Andy. I mean… if I'm honest, yes I want to have sex. I'm human and male and eighteen. but this is not me rushing you. I feel pretty confident that if you wanted to have sex with me you would either tell me or make it clear."
She smiled. "Okay. I'll make it clear when I'm ready Sam. But... that's seriously not gonna be tomorrow."
"Okay… I want you to stay over anyway. I really just want to spend time with you Andy. I don't care what we do."
She raised her eyebrows.
"I've never had a sleepover with a boy…"
He chuckled. "I have. It usually involves pizza, beer if were lucky, and a lot of video games."
"Well ours better not have any video games. I suck at them. We can play truth or dare though." She winked.
The next morning Andy had already packed a sleepover bag to go along with her backpack. Now she had to tell or ask her father. She could try to use the approach of telling him he already said yes and she's just reminding him. That usually worked. Or she could say she forgot to ask because he was at work. That little gem had never let her down yet.
She sighed and went into the kitchen but her father wasn't there. She checked everywhere and he was already gone to work.
Damn. I must have missed him. Maybe I should write him a note? Or call him? Or maybe a short and sweet text… UGHH! Maybe this would be easy… or not. She thought.
