Chapter 8 And the Winner is...

It's been a few days since Magni and Modi were killed by Sean and since more of his past was revealed to Korra and the others. Even after that Korra still didn't hate him but Sean's fears felt she would once she learned the rest.

Currently right now the group was at the Pro bending Gym training.

And they were using Tahno's picture as Target practice making Sean and the others laugh.

While this was going on the Radio played some calm music.

"You guys look excited." Sean said making her grin.

"Hard not to be. Man, I got a good feeling about tonight. I don't care if we are the underdogs, We can take those pompous wolf-bats." Korra said.

"Oh I don't doubt it. But don't let overconfidence be your downfall." Sean said getting her to nod.

"It's going to be our toughest match ever, but I think your right." Mako said.

"Introducing the new champs, the Fantastic Fire Ferrets." Bolin said with excitement before the Radio got all fuzzy.

"Oh hell." Sean said knowing what was gonna happen.

"Good morning, citizens of Republic City. This is Amon." Amon said putting Korra on edge before Sean placed his hands on her shoulders to keep her calm.

"Easy now." Sean said.

"I hope you all enjoyed the previous match involving the Pro Benders and the fight between the Norse Gods and the Demon of Sparta." Amon said pissing Sean off. "Because it will be the last. It's time for this city to stop worshipping bending athletes as if they were heroes. I am calling on the council to shut down the bending arena and cancel the finals or else there will be severe consequences." Amon said.

"Who the hell was that?" Julia asked.

"That was Amon. He's some freak of nature that can take people's bending away. Though how we don't know. He claims spirits gave him the power to do so but I don't think he's being honest." Sean said.

"You think the council will give in?" Mako asked.

"I'm not waiting to find out." Korra said as they left.

Soon the six arrived at City hall before Sean kicked the doors open.

"You all should not be here. This is a closed meeting." Tenzin said.

"As the avatar, and a pro bender I have a right to be heard. You can't cancel the finals." Korra said.

"I know winning the championship means a lot to you, but as far as I'm concerned we need to shut the Arena down." Tenzin said.

"What about the rest of you? Tarrlok, there's no way you're backing down from Amon, right?" Korra asked.

"Actually, Tenzin and I agree, for once." Tarrlok said standing up.

"The council is Unanimous...We're closing the arena." Tenzin said.

"No!" Mako said.

"You can't!" Bolin said.

"I don't understand. I thought you of all people would take a stand against Amon." Korra said confused.

"While I am still committed to bringing that lunatic to justice, I will not put innocent lives at stake just so you and your friends can play a game. That is the reality." Tarrlok said.

"The reality is, if you close the arena, you let Amon win." Korra said.

"I'm sorry, but our decision has been made." Tarrlok said about to slam the gavel. "This meeting is adjourned." Tarrlok said before a metal wire cut through the gavel shocking him before it was revealed that Lin did that.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with the Avatar." Lin said.

"I don't need your support." Korra said glaring at her making her sigh guessing she was still holding a grudge after what happened not too long ago.

"Look I..." Lin tried to say.

"Piss off." Reznov said making her glare.

"Last thing we need is someone who exposed Sean's memories so willingly to a crowd of people." Julia said having heard this from Reznov.

"Enough." Sean said stopping them. "Let her speak." Sean said shocking them.

"But Sean..." Korra tried to say.

"It's all right." Sean said making her sigh.

"Thank you. Now I expected this kind of cut and run from Tenzin, but the rest of you? Come on, show a little more backbone. It's time the benders of this city displayed some strength and unity against these equalists." Lin said.

"We must prevent the conflict between benders and non-benders from esclating into all-out War." Tenzin said.

"Technically we already are at war. Amon will not stop until he gets what he wants." Sean said.

"Exactly. The sooner we actually fight and stop him the sooner we can restore order." Lin said.

"The council is not changing it's decision." Tenzin said.

"Now, Just a moment, Tenzin. Let us hear what our esteemed chief of police has in mind." Tarrlok said making him frown.

"If you keep the Arena open, my metalbenders and I will provide extra security during the championship match. Theres no better force. to deal with the chi-blockers. Our armor is impervious to their attacks." Lin said.

"Add to the face two half gods and a near full one will be there makes things more difficult for them. What could go wrong?" Reznov asked.

"Don't say shit like that you'll fucking jinx us!" Sean said.

"Are you saying that you will personally take responsibility for the safety of the spectators in the arena?" Tarrlok asked.

"I guarantee it." Lin said.

"It is hard to argue with chief Beifong's track record. If she is confident her elite officers can protect the arena, she has my support. I am changing my vote...Who else is with me?" Tarrlok asked getting all but Tenzin to agree making him shake his head. "The Arena stays open. Goof luck in the finals." Tarrlok said making them cheer before Korra jumped into Sean's arms much to his amusement before she looked sheepish.

Soon the group went outside.

"Happy?" Sean asked Korra.

"Oh definitely...But I'm not happy that Lin is gonna be there." Korra said scowling.

"Come on. Lets not be Petty here." Sean said shocking her.

"PETTY! Sean, she exposed your early memories to a crowd of nobles!" Korra said.

"And I'm over it. Athena always taught me never to indulge in petty revenge or grudges unless they were required. Considering her reputation has gone down since that day I'd say Karma has bitten her in the ass." Sean said making her sigh before smiling at him.

"You really have an answer for everything." Korra said.

"DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!" Lin yelled at Tenzin before walking past them and Korra huffed making her roll her eyes before Tenzin approached them.

"She still pisses me off." Korra said before Sean rubbed her shoulders.

"I've known Lin since we were children. She's always been...Challenging." Tenzin said.

"What did your father do to make her hate the Avatar and everyone else?" Korra asked.

"My Father and Lin got along famously. I'm afraid her issues are with me." Tenzin said uncomfortable before Korra widened her eyes.

"Wait a second. It all makes sense now. You and Beifong, Beifong and you. You two were a couple." Korra said shocking him.

"WHAT! Uh...WHERE'D YOU GET THAT IDEA!" Tenzin yelled.

"HA! Your wife." Korra said making Sean laugh having heard the story.

"Criminy! I'll have to have a word with her." Tenzin said.

"So Peme stole you from Beifong? I'm surprised our esteemed chief of police didn't throw her in jail." Korra said smirking.

"Oh she tried. Anyway, Peme didn't STEAL me, Lin and I had been growing apart for some time. We both had different goals in life...WHY AM I EVEN TELLING YOU THIS! It all happened a long time ago, and we've moved past it." Tenzin said making her smirk.

"Apparently Lin hasn't." Sean said.

"What are you...Of course she has. Anyway, this is none of your business!" Tenzin said walking away.

"See you at home mister Heartbreaker." Korra teased making her and Sean laugh before she looked at Sean. "I don't suppose you had someone in your love life?" Korra asked making him smile sadly.

"No. I've never had anyone." Sean said shocking her.

"Wait like no one? Not even for...Sex?" Korra asked in shock.

"Nope." Sean said making her look more shock. "Need I remind you I had a fucked up past. You think I wanted a relationship back then? And I sure as hell wasn't into the whores Aphrodite tried to force on me." Sean said remembering those nightmares making her giggle at that last part.

"Oh thats just sad. My protector is a 300 year old virgin." Korra laughed.

"HA HA HA!" Sean laughed not amused before they left.

"Can I ask you something?" Korra asked.

"What is it?" Sean asked.

"You and Julia...Did you two?" Korra tried to ask.

"Didn't I just say I wasn't interested in a relationship back then? No we did not have romantic feelings for each other. She's like a damn sister to me." Sean said making her smirk seeing she had a better chance with him. "Besides she's into Reznov." Sean said shocking her.

"Wait what?" Korra asked smiling.

"Yeah. She's calm and collective and he's rash and rushes in. You know the old saying. Opposites attract." Sean said.

"Hmm. I guess I can see them as an item." Korra said chuckling making him do the same.

"Oh I knew those two would be perfect together before they did." Sean said smiling.

Later

The Police had the entire arena under heavy security with airships up and boats in the water.

"Damn." Reznov said impressed.

"They ain't holding back I'll give them that much." Sean said.

"So how are things with you and Korra?" Julia asked teasing making him groan in annoyance. "Oh for the love of...Just tell her how you feel." Julia said.

"She already knows. I told her...She can decide if she still wants a relationship...When the learns the rest of my past." Sean said.

"Than show her already you dumbass! You showed us." Reznov said.

"Thats different. Once she learns what I did. She'll hate me." Sean said looking away.

Unknown to them Korra was on the other side of the door and frowned at Sean's words before knocking on the door before Sean opened it.

"Yeah?" Sean asked.

"The Match is about to start." Korra said.

"Finally." Reznov said as he and Julia left but the two stayed.

"You okay?" Sean asked seeing the look on her face.

"Yeah I'm fine. And after I win I expect to hear the full story and no excuses." Korra said grinning making him roll his eyes.

"I'm a man of my word." Sean said before they left with her hand holding his much to his amusement.

Soon enough everyone was gathered.

"The anticipation of palpable as we are just moments away from the championship match. Will the Wolf-Bat's ferocity help them repeat as champs, or will the underdog fire ferrets serve up a surprising bowl of smackdown soup?" The Announcer said.

Sean, Reznov and Julia were in the stands keeping a close eye on everything.

"Introducing the Challengers, The Future Industries Fire Ferrets!"

Korra and her team were the first to arrive in the Arena as the crowd cheered wildly.

"I expected this kind of reaction from a Drinking contest back in Asgard." Reznov said making his friends chuckle at the memory of the warriors in the halls getting drunk.

"Now introducing the Three Time defending champions, The White falls Wolf-Bats!"

Tahno in his team arrived in costumes looking royally smug.

"I hate these guys already." Julia said.

"Ay. Arrogance." Reznov said.

"The Champs and the Challengers face off at the center of the line. And here we go!"

Once the match begin however Sean was quick to notice the Wolf-Bats were cheating using dirty tactics that to his knowledge were not allowed.

"The fuck is going on?" Reznov asked.

"I'll be right back." Sean said running off.

Korra growled at the cheep tricks that Tahno and his team were using.

However before the Refs could call it a familiar blade stabbed into the ground next to him making him yell in surprise before Sean jumped down.

"What do you think your doing...Demon?" The Ref asked before Sean dropped a bag of money in front of him making him widen his eyes.

"Does this look familiar?" Sean asked glaring at him.

"Hold on Folks something is clearly up." The Announcer said as Tahno and his team looked nervous.

"Whats he doing?" Mako asked while Korra frowned and looked at the Wolf-Bats.

"I have a pretty good idea." Korra said.

"Did Tahno and his team pay you off to let them cheat? You best answer me." Sean said grabbing a blade making him shake.

"OK YES THEY PAID ME OFF! THEY DO THIS EVERY GAME EVERY YEAR!" The Ref yelled making the crowd gasp in shock while Tahno growled in anger.

"Why you no good!" Korra yelled pissed off.

"It's clear folks the Wolf-Bats are disqualified for cheating and bribing. Therefor the victors are clearly the Fire Ferrets by default." The Announcer said making everyone cheer while Tahno glared at Sean as he jumped down to Korra and the others.

"You just can't help being the hero can you?" Korra said grinning.

"I despise cheaters." Sean said before a disk hit him from behind shocking them before Sean turned and saw Tahno and his team.

"I'LL KILL YOU!" Tahno yelled using deadly water moves but Sean dodged them with ease before throwing his blades at Tahno's teammates cutting off their heads making Tahno gasp in shock before Sean approached making him double his efforts to kill him but Sean's armor deflected it with ease.

"Uh aren't you gonna help him?" Mako asked Korra who grins.

"Oh like he needs my help to stop a nobody." Korra said.

Tahno cowered as Sean stood above him.

"PLEASE! DON'T KILL ME PLEASE!" Tahno screamed making him grin before kicking him down making him scream like a girl.

"You know the difference between you and the people I killed during my darker days. They at least died with their dignity." Sean said making him whimper before Sean walked away back to Korra and her team.

"I honestly thought you were gonna kill him." Korra said surprised.

"I may have killed for less back in the days I served Ares but even I had my standards." Sean said before something crashed into the Arana and Sean shielded Korra from the blast.

"WHOA!" Bolin yelled before Tahno screamed in fear before a ripping sound was heard before his head was thrown at them.

"I didn't do it." Sean said quickly before they heard heavy footsteps.

"Now what?" Korra asked before something came out of the cloud of dust.

"Uh-Oh." Sean said before seeing a large male figure approaching them or rather Sean.

"Hello...Brother."

"Korra...You three get out of here." Sean said.

"But..."

"NOW!" Sean yelled before the three ran. "I don't have any issues with you Hercules." Sean said looking at his Half brother. (I bet some people were expecting Thor's brother to show up)

"But I do with you. You were always Zeus's favorite son." Hercules said.

"Father doesn't play favorites. I just showed more promise and learned from my mistakes. While You on the other hand cared more about glory and Fame." Sean said making him snort.

"Think about it Brother. While I was stuck cleaning the Augean stables, he chose you to kill the Kraken." Hercules said making him raise an eyebrow. (Clash of the Titans 2010 version)

"The Kraken?" Mako asked.

"A monster like you wouldn't believe." Korra said remembering the stories Sean told her when she was younger.

"Not convinced? How about this? While you were being trained by all the Gods Of Olympus, I was sent to find an apple." Hercules said making him snort in amusement. "They called them Labors. HAH! Perhaps he did allow me to kill the Nemean Lion, but he made your name known amongst the people. A fierce warrior with no fear, A mass killer made hero, A man virtually made a GOD!" Hercules said.

"I didn't ask for that and I'm no god." Sean said.

"Oh I beg to differ. But this time I will destroy you." Hercules said making him glare. "Call it my 13th and final labor. Soon I will receive the training you received from all the gods and rule this land as my kingdom." Hercules said.

"You seriously think I'm gonna let you harm these people? Think again." Sean said.

"We'll see about that." Hercules said as undead warriors filled the Arena before Hercules jumped to the Ref's stand.

(Insert Hercules battle music from God of war 3 soundtrack)

"Oh for the love of." Sean said before dodging the attacks of the undead warriors before pulling out his blades and swung them around.

"Whats up with these two?" Mako asked as Sean fought against Hercules's minions.

"Oh those two have always had issues." Reznov said as he and Julia approached. "Hercules thinks their father played favorites with Kruger but thats not the case. He gave him more training since he had the determination to do it all. Hercules however is more interested in glory than honor." Reznov said before Sean smashed the last two undead warriors.

"I'll deal with you myself." Hecules said as his last two minions put on his Nemean Cestus before punching them away before charging at Sean who dodged with ease before punching him to the edge of the ring.

"Come on Hercules. Lets not do this. Just go back to Olympus and don't come back." Sean said trying to reason with him but it only sent him into a rage and charged at him before jumping in the air before punching the ground making the arena shake making Sean lose his balance before Hercules punched him back near the edge.

"When I'm through with you Zeus will reward me!" Hercules yelled before kicking him into the ref's stand making him grunt.

"Ok. I'm done being nice about this." Sean said before charging at Hercules and grabbed his shoulder armor before breaking it with ease before punching him to the edge once more before water filled the air and turned to ice before attacking Hercules making him roar before punching the ground making it shake before Sean tried to keep his ballance before Hercules punched him in the face.

"Ooh." Korra said getting concerned.

"Relax. Kruger's beaten him plenty of times." Reznov said.

"I don't know. Something feels off." Julia said thinking Hercules was up to something.

Hercules roared as he punched Sean in the armor hard making it break before Sean hit the side as his armor broke apart.

"I swear I have to keep replacing this every decade." Sean said annoyed before dodging another of Hercules's strikes before destroying his helmet.

"Armor is for weaklings!" Hercules yelled.

"Then why the fuck do you wear it!" Sean asked making most laugh which pissed him off even more before trying to hit him only for Sean to slam his fist down before placing his foot on the gauntlet and took it off before putting it on and hit him with it knocking the other off before Sean placed it on.

"Being brutally honest I always wanted to try these." Sean said before charging at him and started beating him to death with ease making Korra grin.

"Oh those work better for him." Reznov said seeing him beat Hercules to the edge of the ring.

Julia however was concerned.

"Somethings not right." Julia said concerning the others.

"What do you mean?" Korra asked concerned.

"Hercules is a lot stronger than this. It's like he's holding back." Julia said.

Sean roared before delivering a devastating blow to Hercules sending him crashing to the very edge. Panting Sean approached him slowly.

"Had enough?" Sean asked.

"Not yet." Hercules said pulling out a dagger and stabbed him in the shoulder.

"AHHH!" Sean yelled in pain before jumping back. "Thats the Best you can...Do...?" Sean asked before falling to his knees shocking everyone. "What the? Whats going...On?" Sean asked feeling weak making Hercules laugh.

"What was it you once said. When you know an opponent has the advantage find a moment of weakness in their defenses and exploit it? Wise words." Hercules said before kicking him back to the edge of the Arena.

(End song)

"Poison." Sean said weakly.

"A very rare and extremely potent poison. Compliments of Ares. Your former Master you served for 2 years doing the most inhumane acts in all of human history. You should have remained loyal to him." Hercules said approaching him making Sean growl.

"Never...Never again." Sean said before Hercules grabbed his blade of Chaos.

"He gave you all the power you could have imagined from a single god...And you completely threw it away...Like a coward." Hercules said before stabbing Sean in the chest.

"AHHHHH!" Sean roared in pain making Korra gasp in horror covering her mouth.

"This is the Demon of Sparta? You are nothing but an embarrassment!" Hercules yelled punching him in the stomach making Sean throw up a blob of blood before Reznov and Julia rushed in and fought him.

Sean growled as he fought against the poison before reaching for his blade trying to pull it out slowly making him groan in pain before pulling it out.

"HEY!" Sean yelled getting his attention before Sean threw it at his head going right through him before he fell backwards and the chain dragged Sean with him. "OH SHIT!" Sean yelled as he fell into the water.

Sean pulled the blade out of Hercules but couldn't move until Korra jumped down and grabbed him before both surfaced making him gasp for air.

"Sean, stay awake." Korra said dragging him to the lift where Bolin and Mako pulled him out.

Sean felt weak from both the Poison and blood loss as his eyes started to close.

"SEAN!" Korra yelled as he blacked out.

Later

Sean slowly woke up with a groan as he looked around seeing he was clearly in a hospital before looking down seeing Korra next to him laying her head on his side like making him smile before playing with her hair making her stir awake before looking at him and smiled.

"Your ok." Korra said placing a hand on his face making him smile.

"I told you...I'm not easily beaten. But that was a cheap move using a poison like that. My father taught me better to only use stuff like that when lives are on the line and not for selfish reasons." Sean said trying to stand up but groaned in pain.

"Easy. Your still pretty injured." Korra said calming him down making him sigh.

"How long was I out?" Sean asked.

"About a day." Korra said before the others walked in.

"You heal fast." Asami said.

"Ah. Physical wounds are easy to heal. What is it?" Sean asked seeing the looks on their faces.

"After you and Korra left the Arena to head here Amon attacked. Now he's got some new tech. Gloves that can electrocute anyone on contact even through police uniform. Because of your brother..." Tenzin tried to say.

"HALF brother. We share blood but we are not brothers now or ever." Sean said.

"Either way he caught everyone by surprise. Amon used that against us." Lin said.

"Why am I not surprised?" Sean said.

"Hey at least we won the championship." Bolin said making everyone glare at him.

"Seriously?" Reznov asked annoyed.

"Sorry." Bolin said.

"You get some rest. You'll need it." Tenzin said as everyone but Korra left.

"Why did Hercules attack you like that so suddenly?" Korra asked.

"Ah. In his eyes our father paid more attention to me than him. He's always been one for attention and power. I got all the training and he had to do 13 labors. He's always been petty. Doesn't matter now he's dead and I'm not." Sean said making her smile as she held him hand.

"And that all I care about." Korra said making him smile before resting.

Authors Note: And with that the half brother of Sean is dead and Sean and Korra become even closer as she now watches over her protector. Now Next Chapter we learn once more about Sean's past during his time as a servant of the God Of war. And of course one step closer to finding out what made Sean sever all ties with said god.
