"Good morning, love." Edward whispers as I open my eyes. I smile to him and kiss him gently. "The others would like to meet you again… most of my extremely possessive instincts are gone." He whispers in my ear and I nod a little and hug him closer.
"I love you." I whisper and he kisses me.
"I love you too." He whispers and then he helps me out of bed.
"I'll take a shower first?" I ask and he quirks an eyebrow and I look confused at him. He sighs and wraps his arms around my waist as he looks down into my eyes.
"You don't need to ask for permission, my love." He says and I smile sheepishly and stand on my toes and peck his lips, then I grab some clothes and get into the bathroom. I take a quick shower and get dressed in the new clothes and then I walk out and straight into Edward's arms. He breaths in my scent deeply and lifts me up bridal style.
"Thank god you didn't take a long shower." He murmurs and I chuckle as he carries me downstairs in human speed.
"I can't be without you for that long." I say and he pecks my cheek and puts me down on my feet at the end of the staircase, then he leads me into the kitchen. Everyone is gathered around the kitchen table and looks at me with a mix between happiness and pity, except for Rosalie she just glares at me.
"Hi everyone." I mumble as Edward leads me towards the counter where they have put up a lot of breakfast food. I take a little of everything on my plate and then I walk over to the table and sit down next to Edward. I take a few bites as they just study me silently.
"Nothing to say?" I ask and they relax slightly.
"Bella, my daughter, I have missed you so much." Esme says and I smile to her.
"I have missed all of you too." I say and she reaches carefully over the table and pats my hand extremely carefully and I realise that they think I'm terrified by all vampires now or something. I grab her hand and hold it tightly in mine as I smile a little to her. "I'm fine, you don't need to be extremely careful around me. I think you have a wedding to plan and I'm pretty sure there are funnier things than watching the human eat." I say and Emmet and Jasper chuckle.
"Bella?" Alice asks hesitantly and I look questioning at her. "We are still friends, right?" She asks gently and I smile to her.
"If you want to." I say and she beams at me and basically starts jumping up and down.
"We are going to have so much fun! Tomorrow we are going into town to do some wedding shopping oh you are going to love-"
"Alice, wait." I stop her and she looks questioning at me. "I don't want to go shopping, I can't stay away from Edward that long." I say and she pouts but nods.
"Okay." She says a little dejected and I smile at her.
"Maybe we can play 'Bella Barbie' later?" I offer and she beams again. She disappears from the kitchen as everyone laughs at her excitement.
"Rosalie?" I hesitate and she turns her head and glares at me. "I'm sorry for coming here so close to your wedding, would you rather that I stay away until the wedding is over?" I ask and she looks slightly shocked, then she sighs and looks between Edward and me.
"Stay, otherwise Edward will be grumpy." She says and then she grabs Emmet's hand and leads him out from the kitchen. I relax and lean my head against Edward's shoulder as he snakes an arm around my waist.
"Bella, we heard that you want to be changed." Carlisle asks and I nod.
"But I would rather want to wait until it's necessary." I say and they nod.
"Bella." Jasper starts and I nod for him to continue. "What are we going to do with your… bosses?" He asks and I sigh a little.
"I don't know. If I would say I wanted out, they would try to find me and kill me…" I stop when Edward relaxes and I look questioning at him.
"We can handle some humans." He says confidently and I sigh.
"... if that didn't work they would send one of their trackers and either way I have less than a week until the other vampire comes for me to see if I'm pregnant." I say and Edward growls and pulls me up in his lap.
"We will protect you Bella." Jasper promises and I sigh.
"He has two powers. He is an amazing tracker and he can create fire." I say and they freeze.
"How do you know that?" He asks in some kind of military tone and I sigh again.
"Since I'm a shield he wanted to see if his powers work on me. His tracking does work but the fire doesn't hurt me. If any of you get in the way when he tries to get to me, he won't hesitate to kill you… I have seen it before." I add the last in a mumble and they look tensed at each other. "The simplest way is to just let him do what he wants to me and then he'll return me to the same place he found me. He doesn't care what I do as long as he can get to me anytime." I say and Edward, Jasper, and even Carlisle growls intimidatingly.
"He will not touch you." Edward growls and I smile sadly to him.
"If you get hurt, it hurts me so much more than he could ever hurt me." I say and he just growls and holds me tighter.
"Never." He growls and I sigh and bury my face in the crook of his neck. I breathe in his scent to calm me and then I look over at Jasper. He looks angry but also hesitant, like he is trying to figure out what strategy is best.
"Jasper, could we talk somewhere in private?" I ask him and he looks surprised at me but nods and stands up.
"Why?" Edward asks and I peck his lips.
"I got to tell him some things about my birthday and I don't want anyone else to hear." I lie and he nods a little and lets me go. Suddenly Alice is right in front of me.
"Can I come? Please, please, please!" She asks and I smile a little to her and shake my head.
"I need to talk to him alone. I promise to spend some time with you when I get back." I say and she pouts but nods. Jasper lays a hand on the small of my back and leads me out of the house and towards his car. We get seated and he drives for a while during silence and then he sighs and pulls over and parks on the side of the road.
