Chapter 24 Peacekeepers

It's been a couple days since the Civil war between the North and South started thanks to Unalaq. Now the group was finally in Republic City to get some help from the united forces.

"Ah sweet land." Reznov said jumping on the docks.

"I should have listened to you when I had the chance. Unalaq used me just like you said he would. And now my dad and the rest of the South are at war with him." Korra said.

"Yeah Katara told me stories about those jerks. The most corrupt organization in the entire Earth Kingdom. What does she have to do with it?" Korra asked.

"What?" Korra asked in disbelief one of the greatest avatars in history created a group of thugs.

"Her aim was to protect the culture of the Earth Kingdom back in her time. But overtime they became corrupted to what people know now." Sean said shocking her.

"I have to do this and then we can see the president to send troops to stop Unalaq." Korra said.

"Zhu Li's already scheduled a meeting for us. We'll get him on board." Varrick said.

Later

Korra with Sean were on Naga as they led the Southerners towards the cultural center.

"Tensions are running high outside of the southern water tribe cultural center. The Avatar and her husband are leading a group of southerners in a peaceful protest against Chief Unalaq, But the northerners have come out in droves in support of their Leader." A reporter said.

"Fucking morons." Sean said.

While this was going on Mako stood guard outside the building.

However two people exited said building before one accidentally stepped on a can making a loud crunching sound which alerted him.

"HEY!" Mako yelled before one took out some device and pressed a button before the whole building blew up.

"What the hell!" Sean yelled as Korra looked on in shock before Sean summoned the Trident before slamming it down as a large wave of water around the area crashed into the building to put out the fires.

Mako followed the ones responsible before firebending them but one of them was a firebender as well before something was knocked out of his hand before they got in a car and bolted.

"You ok?" Sean asked his wife.

"Yeah I'm fine. But the North is out of control. No way is the president gonna let this stand." Korra said.

"I'm not so sure the North did this." Mako said rushing to them.

"Meaning?" Sean asked.

"I saw a couple guys leave the building before the explosion before they used this to do so. And one of them was a fire bender." Mako said.

"Of course the North is responsible who else would it be?" Korra asked.

"Don't be so sure. Unalaq would stand no chance against the United forces. He would want to avoid having them fight him so he would make sure no one did something to get their attention." Sean said making Korra frown since she couldn't deny that.

"Ok...Say the North didn't do this...Then who did?" Korra asked.

"Someone who wants the United forces to join for something personal." Sean said holding her close.

Next morning

"I hope president Raiko listens to us." Korra said as she, Sean and Varrick walking to his office. Of course he had them take a picture together which made things a little awkward.

"Don't worry. I was a big contributor to his election campaign. Him and the other guy. Gotta hedge your bets." Varrick said before they went inside seeing Raiko and his staff.

"Now, How can I help the Avatar and my most Generous supporter?" Raiko asked.

"Unalaq's troops have invaded the South. We need you to send the united forced to help." Korra said.

"I'm very concerned by what's happening down there, But I don't think it's the Republic's place to interfere with internal water tribe matters." Raiko said.

"Unalaq isn't even the rightful ruler of the Water Tribe. He lied his way onto the thrown." Korra argued.

"He hired barbarians 20 years ago to attack and kill his own people knowing his brother would go after them no matter what circumstances. Not to mention he was gonna execute innocent civilians to keep control." Sean said.

"Mr. President, the Republic is already involved in this conflict. The north attacked our cultural center last night." Varrick said.

"Believe me, we are doing everything we can to bring the people responsible to justice." Raiko said.

"The people Responsible? Who else would it be but the Northerners?" Korra asked.

"Now, I know that when you're young, it's hard to keep perspective..." Raiko tried to say.

"You're the one who's lost perspective. I'm trying to save my tribe, and your taking pictures." Korra said.

"Sending troops is not something I can do at this time, but I promise I will work with Unalaq and the South for a diplomatic solution." Raiko said.

"Diplomatic? Unalaq isn't gonna listen to you. He tried to have his own brother sent to prison just to control Korra." Sean said.

"I don't need to listen to the Demon of Sparta." Raiko said glaring at him.

"What the fuck did you just call me?" Sean asked.

"You heard me. I heard Unalaq tried to stop you two from getting married. I actually agreed with him on that. A demon has no business marrying someone who's meant to put people like you down." Raiko said pissing them off.

The two were back in their home as Korra paced around.

"I can't believe the president is doing nothing. And he's no better than Unalaq." Korra said royally ticked off.

"Hold on a tick. We don't need the president to go to the south. We just need the troops. Let's go straight to them. If there's one thing I know about troops, is that they love fighting." Varrick said.

"We know General Iroh. He might be willing to help us." Korra said.

"A man on the inside. Perfect. And you need to sell some Mecha-Tanks. I know some people who need them. We'll ship'm south." Varrick said.

"Thats perfect. You'll be making money for your company, and you'll be helping to defeat Unalaq." Korra said.

"It's true. If you can't make money during war, you just flat out cannot make money." Varrick said.

"It's dangerous on those seas right now, but I'm willing to try if you are." Asami said.

"It'll be crazy risky, but I love crazy risky!" Varrick said getting down.

"I don't understand why it's so hard to get Republic City to support the South." Korra said.

"Because theres two sides of this. Unalaq the ruler of the Water Tribe is feeding lies to the public about whats going on and the South are telling the truth that he's invaded. And Raiko is only interested in his own agenda's that are in Republic City." Sean said.

"Don't worry. I'm already working on that. As soon as people see this, they'll be lining up to fight Unalaq." Varrick said playing some film.

"Don't freak out. It's not real." Bolin said before Eska's face was seen. "AHHHHHH!" Bolin screamed in a girly voice making Sean burst out laughing while the girls looked amused.

"YOU FUCKHEAD! Other than Korra you have the worst taste in women." Sean said making Korra smirk remembering he had a thing for her before She and Sean started dating and later got married.

Later

"Thank you for seeing us General Iroh." Korra said as she and Sean were on his command ship.

"What can I do?" Iroh asked.

"The South needs military support before Unalaq wipes them out completely, But Raiko is refusing to give the order since he doesn't care." Korra said.

"Hence why we came to you directly." Sean said.

"I see. Well, Suppose I were to take the fleet south on some routine training maneuvers. And lets say were were to accidentally run into a hostile northern blockade. We'd have no choice but to defend ourselves, wouldn't we?" Iroh said.

"I guess you wouldn't. Thank you." Korra said pleased before.

"Swapping old war stories?" Raiko asked making his presence known.

"Mr. President." Iroh said saluting.

"I hope you're not planning to take any military action without an order from your commander in chief." Raiko said.

"Of course not, sir." Iroh said.

"Good, because if a single vessel leaves this harbor without my say-so, you'll be court-martialed." Raiko said before glaring at Sean and Korra. "Try to cross me again and I'll be readying your public execution...Demon of Sparta." Raiko said before lightning nearly struck him making him yell in shock while Sean smirked.

"I think you made my father very angry fuck head." Sean said making him growl. "Don't go throwing empty threats at me. I once took down the entire Persian empire by myself and they numbered in the millions." Sean said before Raiko left clearly angered.

"I hate that guy." Korra said before Sean held her.

"Calm down." Sean said.

"Now what?" Korra asked out of ideas.

"You should try the fire-lord. My mother and grandfather have always been friends with the Avatar and the Southern tribe." Iroh said.

"Worth a shot." Sean said as the two left.

"I don't understand. How did he find out?" Korra asked.

"We'll worry about that later." Sean said.

Later

The two were on a speed boat heading to the fire nation.

"You ok?" Sean asked Korra as he drove.

"Yeah...I just...Feel helpless not being able to help my parents." Korra said.

"We will in time. Remember what I told you when you were younger. Patience can be rewarding. We'll save them soon enough." Sean said before violent waves attacked them. "The fuck!" Sean yelled before turning around seeing Desna and Eska attacking with the former still having makeup down her face.

"You ruined my wedding!" Eska yelled before slicing their boat in half as Sean grabbed Korra before jumping out and used the Trident to move through the water.

"Like I said Bolin has shitty taste in women excluding you." Sean said to Korra making her nod before they attacked them again.

However suddenly a dark spirit came and attacked them.

"I got this." Korra said using what Unalaq taught her to try and calm it down.

However it didn't work and dashed at them.

Only for Sean to grab Korra and throw her back before he went under.

"SEAN!" Korra screamed as he did not resurface before she dived under looking for him but found nothing. "NO NO NO NO!" Korra yelled trying to find him Eska and Desna restrained her.

"Your coming with us." Eska said before Korra sent her an enraged look which shocked her before Korra using Water bending turning it to ice stabbed her in the side shocking her further before her brother rushed to her and retreated.

"NO! SEAN!" Korra screamed for her husband before she spotted something and swam towards it before it turned out to be his sister's necklace making her start crying.
