He could still remember her smile, the way her short hair would blow in a gentle breeze and most of all how she broke his heart. He had only known her a short while but it didn't stop him from falling head over heals in love with her. After his death he was allowed to keep one thing from his mortal life a small trinket to hold on to, for him the decision came easy; sitting atop his night stand was an old black and white photograph of a beautiful woman standing in front of his home wearing one of his suits. It was the purest and happiest smiles she had ever given him once she had donned the jacket to complete the look, like he had finally given her the chance to show him who she really is. He humored her giving her the male version of her name 'Anthony' a gesture that had landed him a proper kiss, not the usual ones that she would hesitantly place on his cheek. His Antonia or as she preferred to be called 'Toni' was supposed to meet him the very next day at the bayou for a boat ride where he was hoping to ask her to marry him, while in many ways Alastor was a traditional man he refused to allow another person to make the decision for them, so he failed to ask her father Henry for his blessings. He knew the answer before he would even approach the short Italian man with a mean temper, racism had been rampant in those days and with Alastor being noticeably mixed with his café au lait complexion and his thick head of dark brown wavy hair it would never happen.

She never showed that day, he sat there with a red rose in hand waiting for her by the pier where he kept his boat with the minutes turning to hours before he went home to drown out his sorrows with a few good glasses of whisky. He looked for her at the hotel her family was staying at while they were on vacation only to learn they had left suddenly two nights earlier, she was gone from his life never to come back and just two weeks later after a particularly sloppy killing spree he finally met his end when he was caught by a group of hunters and their dogs. After arriving in hell he would wonder throughout the years what her life turned out like who she married and if she had any children or grandchildren, once enough time had passed he had hoped to find her again but after several years of searching he had given up all hope. Perhaps she made it into heaven and he would never be reunited with her, that's when he discovered the princesses hotel and finally it gave him a ray of light like a candle in the eternal darkness of his heart. If it worked for another Demon than maybe with enough work and determination maybe he could get in too and be reunited with the love of his life.

He almost backed out when Angel Dust offered up his services to him upon their first interaction, but there was something to the man that almost seemed familiar to him as time went on. He slowly found himself falling for the sole patron of the Hazbin Hotel, the thought scaring him as he felt like he had forgotten how to love after the countless decades he spent alone. Alastor almost felt dirty falling for the man as he saw it as a betrayal to his beloved Toni, but he knew it was long overdue that he moved on from her memory that constantly gripped him. He grabbed the photo that sat on the night stand and gently stroked the glass sighing as he contemplated his current lot in his afterlife, wishing that he could talk to someone about this just to get a grip on the next steps he should take. From the other side of the door he could hear footsteps drawing near, the high heals clicking with each step and a gentle humming flowed through the void of silence. Alastors heart stopped at the familiar tune that was taking over his senses as he heard Angel humming the song he often sang to Antonia, the simple tune bringing back so many emotions at once Alastor bolted up from his bed and ran towards the door throwing it open as Angel walked past.

"How do you know that song Angel, only two people in the world know that song?" Alastor inquired. "Simple Smiles my sweetheart used ta sing it to me when I was still alive." Angel replied giving Alastor a cheeky smile. "So you knew Antonia then, but I do find it odd that you say a woman is your sweetheart when you usually shy away from those of the fairer sex." Alastor bitterly pointed out, the thought that out of all the people in the world she had ended up with Angel. "Wow ya really are that dense sometimes ain't ya Smiles, I never was with Toni but yes I did know her quite well. Alastor did I ever tell you how I died?" Angels question was met with a confused stare before Al shook his head urging Angel to continue.

"When I was a young adult my family went on vacation to get outa the big city and lay low for a while after a deal got tipped off to the cops. At the beginning I was miserable until I ran into this nice local who showed me around town and soon fell in love with him, my father wasn't to happy that I was spending time with him and eventually after he made me realize what I had been missing in my life I was ripped away from him so suddenly I couldn't even say goodbye. I later found out he died shortly afterwards through a letter and began abusing drugs, this went on for about fourteen years until my dad saw me dressin up as the opposite sex and getting with men. He flipped his lid and sent me off to the loony bin where they tried every form of therapy to turn me normal before giving up and just shoving an ice pick into my eye and scrambling my brains. I survived the lobotomy but I was never the same afterwards, I overdosed on PCP not too long after that and died." Realization flashed across Alastors face as he gently reached out and touched Angels cheek. "Antonia?" Alastor questioned and Angel leaned in to the touch. "Yeah its me Alastor, it's you Tony. Although I go by Anthony now." Alastor stepped closer and pulled Angel a little lower pressing there lips together for a long overdue kiss. "My Anthony at last." Alastor breathed before deepening the kiss.
