Chapter 42 To the Stars

Korra cried as she held her dead husband for the past two hours unable to move from her spot as the full moonlight was the only source of light for them.

"We're gonna have to move him. I know she's in pain but we can't stay here anymore." Reznov said.

"Just...Give her time." Tonraq said.

Thats when Zaheer appeared.

"YOU!" Reznov roared as he and the others got ready for a fight while Korra glared at him with untamed Rage. "This is all your fault! You and your stupid chaotic dream!" Reznov yelled.

"I know." Zaheer said before placing his arms behind his head and got on his knees.

"What the hell do you think your doing?" Lin demanded.

"I'm surrendering." Zaheer said shocking them. "Now I understand why Kruger hated the God of War so much. He uses everyone for his own gains. My alliance with him cost me everyone I ever cared about just as it did him so many years ago. I knew making that deal was a mistake and knew he had an agenda. And now the Red Lotus are all dead...Save me." Zaheer said with his head down.

"And you think..." Korra trailed off as she glared at him unmoving from her spot. "That will make up for what you've taken from me...From my kids? You robed me of the man I loved and robed three beautiful children of their father only two weeks old. You think that makes what you did ok?" Korra asked glaring at him with such hatred it sent shivers down many of the new airbenders spines.

"No...Nothing can ever right this wrong. Like him I..." Zaheer tried

"DON'T YOU DARE COMPARE YOURSELF WITH HIM!" Korra roared as tears ran down her eyes. "He learned from his mistakes. You never will." Korra sobbed.

"Korra...Believe me I...AHHH!" Zaheer yelled in pain as his arms started twisting against his will shocking the others before looking at Korra realizing she was blood bending him seeing it was a full moon.

"KORRA STOP!" Tenzin yelled before she created a barrier of water over them to block them from interfering.

"You took him away from me and my children. Now I'll take your life." Korra said lowly as only she could hear as Zaheer screamed in pain.

"Korra don't! I want him dead as much as you do but this won't bring him back! Don't make a mistake like my brother did you'll regret the rest of your life." Turok said making her cry louder before the barrier dropped as Zaheer fell to his knees before Senna rushed to her daughter.

"It's ok sweetie." Senna said.

"No its not. None of this ok." Korra cried before fire appeared before them.

"Now what?" Mako asked before Ares appeared and laughed at them making them glare.

"At long last my greatest failure is out of my way and no longer a threat to me." Ares said making Korra glare at him even more so than she did to Zaheer.

"YOUR A GODDAMN COWARD!" Korra yelled.

"Say whatever you wish Avatar. But the point is I won." Ares said laughing.

"You used us." Zaheer said.

"I did. I sent some of the best from Greece after him and all have failed. Hercules, Cronos and the other Titans and so many others over the years. I even unleashed the Kraken hoping it would be enough. I was always impressed by his ability to never fail. Then you got your airbending and I saw an opportunity. And you performed perfectly. I knew he would not let his inner demon run freely when he finally found the weakness. Taking his own life to save all of you. How pathetic." Ares said making them glare.

"Your gonna pay for this. His father won't let this stand." Tonraq said.

"And how am I to pay for the actions of Zaheer and his Red Lotus? They did most of the work. I merely provided some troops and the means to make sure Kruger ended his own life. I can't be held accountable for how things played out." Ares said making them glare.

"One day you'll pay for this. Be certain of that." Tenzin said as Ares vanished.

Korra cried as she held Sean's head before kissing it.

Thats when they all heard a familair roar seeing Spyro fly towards them with Naga and Pabu before he landed.

"Pabu." Bolin said as his little buddy climbed up top of him.

Naga walked over to Korra before whining seeing Sean's dead body before rubbing against Korra who cried as she held her dog's head.

Spyro walked towards them before looking at his long friend's dead body.

"Oh old friend." Spyro said.

"I'm sorry Spyro. He's gone...All I have left of him now are the triplets. And I have raise them alone without their father." Korra cried making him look at her before sighing.

"No Korra...You will not." Spyro said as he stood up.

"Spyro?" Korra asked before he cut open his chest before a bright red ball came out.

"Spyro wait a minute!" Turok yelled.

Everyone could only look in awe seeing the orb feeling great power come from it before Spyro collapsed as it slowly moved towards Sean's body as the wounds he inflected started to heal before entering his mouth.

Korra looked at her husband before Sean gasped for air making her eyes widen and shocking everyone else before he started coughing to get any remaining blood out of his lungs.

"It's ok." Korra said holding him as he got it all out before breathing heavily as he tried to calm down before looking at her.

"Korra?" Sean asked as she held his face.

"Your alive again." Korra cried as she held him while everyone was amazed.

"Wha? How the hell?" Sean asked looking around before seeing Spyro.

"I don't know what Spyro did but he brought you back from the dead. He's probably just tired. I'm sure he'll wake up soon." Korra said smiling as she held him close while Sean sighed.

"No Korra...He's not." Sean said confusing her before noticing Reznov, Julia and Even Turok holding their heads down.

"Wha...What are you talking about? Why won't he wake up?" Korra asked making him sigh.

"I told you a long time ago Spyro was a dragon born with many powerful and unique abilities. One of those abilities allows him to bring someone back from the dead if it's been for a short time. But it comes at a price. A life...For a life. Spyro isn't resting he's...Dead." Sean said shocking her and everyone else before looking at Spyro's dead body. "Oh old friend. Where do we look to now?" Sean asked before Spyro's body vanished and only a red form of energy remained shocking them all as Sean widened his eyes.

"To the stars old friend. To the stars." Spyro said before he ascended to the heavens.

Or to be more precise to the Dragon constellation.

"Whats going on?" Opal asked.

"I don't know." Bolin said holding her close.

"We do." Reznov said.

"When Nobel dragons die they join the constellation." Julia said.

"It's not made up with stars." Turok said as Jinora held Junior while Ikki held Atreus and Asami held Katara.

"It's made up with the souls of the most Nobel dragons." Sean said as the other dragons engulfed Spyro's body before an explosion of stars occurred.

They created an image of a dragon amazing everyone who could see before turning back into the constellation making Sean smile softly seeing one glowing brightly showing Spyro had joined his fellow dragons.

"Goodbye Spyro." Sean said.

2 weeks later

Sean groaned as Korra helped him in a wheelchair.

"I hate this." Sean said.

"I know. How are you feeling?" Korra asked holding his hand.

"I'll live...about the only thing I can do right now." Sean said.

"I know it's been a couple hard weeks since...Everything. But I'm here for you." Korra said kissing him making him smile lightly.

"I know." Sean said before she pushed him outside where the others waited.

"You seriously still look like hell bro." Turok said making Sean chuckle lightly.

"I'd like to see you try coming back from the dead. Oh wait thats right you can't actually die because of that GIFT my uncle Hades gave you for making fun of his face." Sean joked making him and some of the others laugh.

"I'd like to officially welcome you back to Republic city. I know that..." Raiko tried to say.

"Just shut up." Korra said glaring at him making him widen his eyes. "Take your lies and shove up your..." Korra tried to say.

"Enough. He's not worth it. All he's trying to do is get that mark removed. Ignore him." Sean said making Raiko frown.

Thats when Meelo jumped in Sean's lap making him smile lightly.

"Lets go inside it smells like shoe tree." Meelo said.

"Sandle wood." Ikki said as they arrived at the stairs.

"Shit." Sean said annoyed.

"I got this." Lin said using Earthbending to get them up.

"He's not looking good at all." Baldur said. "Hell he looks worse than when I had that curse my mother put on me for countless years." Baldur said.

"What do you expect uncle? He died and came back to life because Spyro gave his life up for him. Hell that alone dealt a blow to him. Losing the closest friend he's ever known to save him." Reznov said.

"I'm afraid the damage is far worse than you think brothers." Mimir said on Reznov's side. (I forgot to add he went back to Asgard after the Queen's death till now)

"What do you mean?" Tonraq asked.

"Ares meddling has stolen something just as valuable as Kruger's wife and kids. It stole his warrior spirit." Mimir said.

"Whats a warrior spirit?" Asami asked.

"You know how some people can fight great and others not so well? Thats where it comes from. It's unclear if dying or Spyro's death is the cause of it being stolen but it's gone nonetheless." Mimir said.

"Can it be brought back?" Zuko asked.

"For most people it can with time or motivation. But...I don't know how his is gonna come back if at all." Mimir said.

"Ares nearly succeeded in his objective if it wasn't for Spyro. He's getting desperate to kill him. Whatever Sean's destiny is has him on edge. And he used Zaheer to do his dirty work." Tenzin said.

"Well, the good news is Zaheer's in a new cell surrounded by Elite Spartans and Asgardians. The White lotus has been disbanded by Zeus since he blamed them for Kruger's death. Some tried to argue but he killed them without mercy or hesitation. Personally I think the current generation was all bark and no bite compared to the old ones." Reznov said making some agree even Zuko having seen the ones during his Uncle's generation long ago.

"And the Red Lotus is completely gone save for Zaheer. He gave up without a fight since everyone he's ever known is dead. He's got nothing left." Julia said.

"But what about the Earth Kingdom? Without the queen and in disarray theres gonna be chaos." Raiko said.

"No one asked you to speak asshole." Reznov said making him frown.

"He's not wrong though. Korra said she's more focused on helping Sean get back to his old self and raising the kids. They deserve that much for all of this." Julia said.

"We'll figure something out." Baldur said.

Soon a celebration for their victory was held. And of course Jinora was made an Airbending Master having her head shaved to put on her airbending Tattoos which Turok commented looked good on her.

"So you two are heading back to the South Pole?" Tenzin asked Korra.

"I think it's for the best for him. We already have a house ready when we get back more than enough room for us and Triplets. Can you make sure the one we have here stays in good condition?" Korra asked.

"Of course." Tenzin said.

Sean right now was talking with his brother before Raiko approached them.

"We need to talk." Raiko said.

"Go...Away." Sean said not in any mood.

"No. You are going to listen to me. I want this mark off my neck! And I want it off now!" Raiko said getting everyones attention.

"Raiko leave him alone." Tenzin said.

"I can't." Sean said.

"CAN'T OR WON'T! I want this mark off my neck!" Raiko said.

"The hell is wrong with you?" Turok asked getting annoyed.

"Even if I wanted to which I don't...I can't remove it. No one can...Not even my father." Sean said shocking him. "The mark is permanent. Only the very worst are given it when you commit crimes against my father. In your case hoping my children would die when they were born." Sean said making him growl in rage. "You have only yourself..." Sean tried to say before Raiko punched him out of his chair onto the floor shocking everyone before Turok punched Raiko in the face.

"THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!" Turok roared as Korra rushed to her husband helping him up.

"You should have stayed dead Demon. You have caused me nothing but trouble. You and your whore. I only wish Ares took you two and those abominations you two made out of this world." Raiko said making Sean glare as did Korra along with everyone else.

"And now you just made things even worse." Sean said as the mark glowed before Raiko screamed in agonizing pain. "Now your lifespan has just been dramatically shorted by half." Sean said making him gasp in horror as everyone glared at him. "Soon enough you will die and be tortured in the depths of Tartarus." Sean said making him growl about to strike again had Reznov not grabbed him and slammed him into a wall knocking him out.

After that incident Korra led Sean out to the Balcony.

"Are you okay?" Korra asked making him sigh.

"No. I keep losing those I care about. My family...My brother...And now my best friend. And even worse I lost my will to fight. I couldn't even stop Raiko of all people." Sean said before she held his hands.

"Deimos and Spyro gave up their lives to save you because they loved you. This..." Korra said placing her hand where his heart is. "Your brother will always be with you. And Spyro." Korra said looking at the Dragon constellation. "Will always be looking out for you from the stars. And I'll always be here for you. I promise." Korra said before he started crying holding his face before she hugged him. "I love you Sean." Korra said as he sobbed.

Even the most powerful amongst us could prove to be the most vulnerable.

Authors Note: And with that Season 3 comes to an end and we begin the final season. I'm a little sad we're nearing the end of this so soon. But that just means soon I can start my second Legend of Korra story which will be another single pairing story since I'm liking this single pairing thing more than harem stories since it makes things easier. To Sora Dude I said keep the Negativity down when you say something I wrote is stupid or lame it annoys me and saying one of my chapters isn't amazing annoys me as well.
