Chapter 2:

Sex. Lust. Smell. Silver was petrified with all three as he slumped his head forward and groaned. How could he be so ignorant with those topics at his age.

"You okay, Silver?" Tails asked the gray hedgehog as they stepped out of the school bus.

Silver was holding his head."...no…" he barely whispered.

Tails opened the front door to the school. "What was that, I didn't hear you." He said loudly, over the voices of other students around them.

Silver faked a smile. "I said I'm fine. I'm just stressed about a test coming up. That's all." He said, letting go of his head as they stood in the middle of the hall.

"Ah, okay. Well good luck! I have to head to my AP class and talk with my teacher about a few things. I'll see you later!" The fox smiled and waved as he scurried past the gray hedgehog.

Silver waved back but felt anguished.

He was confused.

After last night's events, Silver had needed to take a cold shower as soon as he got home. He was guilty to admit that he had gotten an uncontrollable boner from Amy's kiss. A rookie mistake. He expected himself to have more matureness where he wouldn't succumb to getting a boner from a little kiss but that was also probably because he never had that issue before.

For a teenager with raging hormones, he was as dry as the Atacama Desert. At the peak of eighteen, Silver had only gotten boners from his morning wood and action from his left hand. He was an embarrassment to his youth. It was like he was a late bloomer finding out what sexual attraction to the opposite sex really felt like. He hated it and none of it made sense to him whatsoever.

Looking back, the only times he ever felt sexually attracted to Blaze was when he, locked up in his room, masterbated to dirty thoughts of them doing things. Face-to-face: Nothing. There was no ounce of sexual attraction but rather adoration and appreciation.

The purple feline was already in school and shutting her locker with a stern expression as she clutched her materials to her chest. She looked hurried which was not usual. Blaze was calm and collected which made her behavior now odd. It was as if she was hurrying to avoid something or rather, someone, and Silver knew just who.

He didn't care. He wanted to fix this and ran towards her as she began walking to class. "Blaze, can we talk?" He called, catching up to her.

She didn't react which meant that she had seen him come in. "If it's about that night, I don't want to talk about it." She stared blankly, staring straight ahead and walking faster.

Silver tried to keep up to her as his eyes searched hers helplessly. "It's not me, it's you–ah! I mean, no. That came out wrong. The problem that day was me, not you. I should have never said something so stupid and hurtful to you." He insisted.

Blaze abruptly stopped and turned to him with a cold glare. "Just stop, Silver." She hissed.

"Please forgive me, Blaze." He pleaded as he swallowed his saliva nervously.

"No matter what we talk about right now, I can't handle the embarrassment." She looked severely hurt as her lips twisted into a deep frown and her eyes dismissed his gaze."

"We can try again…" he persuaded.

The feline looked up at him as she considered the thought and for a brief second Silver caught her hurt expression cross over her features before a determined expression overpowered it and she gripped his collar with her free hand and pulled him underneath the stairs that were nearby and secluded. She pulled him into a tight embrace and planted a sloppy kiss onto his lips. Silver responded slowly in surprise but his movements were almost robotic rather than natural.

It wasn't enough: her hands slid between them and ran across his groin. Silver whimpered in response as he pulled away in surprise. "Blaze, what are you doing?" He looked around nervously. "We're in public! What if someone sees us? We'll be in big trouble."

Her stare was blank. "You're not attracted to me, are you?" She asked but it sounded more like a statement.

"Don't say that." He held her hands and leaned into her face hopelessly. "Blaze, you are the most important person to me. You're strong and super attractive. You have no idea how crazy I am about you."

"But are you attracted to me?" Blaze asked again, slowly pulling away as she turned her head. "Sexually."

"I… uh…" Silver said no more. He wasn't a liar and even worse, a bad one when he tried, and Blaze knew him best and would know instantly if any came out of his mouth since his eyes betrayed him.

He looked away.

"Say no more." Blaze said, walking past him hurriedly.

He grabbed her shoulder. "Blaze, please wait!" He pleaded.

"Don't touch me." She snapped, yanking his touch away and glaring up at him. "I just want to be left alone."

Silver didn't hold her back anymore as the purple cat turned and walked away. He knew that only talking to her under these circumstances and tension would lead nowhere. What they both needed right now was space and time to themselves. Why did things have to come to this?

His heart hurt.

A soft breath escaped his lips as he leaned against some lockers behind him and covered his face. He could believe how insensitive he had been to Blaze. He was a fool. A damn bastard. Crying right now only made him more pitiful because he didn't deserve her. Silver was incapable of making her feel attractive and it crushed his soul. He had to figure out the inner turmoil in his heart before he went after her.

His nose twitched as a sweet aroma caught his attention.

Amy had just walked into the school and looked radiant as ever. She was automatically greeted by peers as she waved 'hellos' and walked deeper into the school and halls. Even with all the crowded halls, she stood out from the rest as if she was misplaced.

She wore a black mock stitch bodycon dress with tall boots that accentuated her tiny waist with her quills free and falling just above her lower back. Silver knew that the pink hedgehog had a beautiful body but he hadn't noticed just how much it was until now. Her waist was so tiny that he wondered if he could wrap his hands around it. Silver knew he should have not been looking but his eyes weren't listening nor was his body. His feet were glued on the floor and unmoving.

Gold eyes found their way lower at her athletic legs and tone legs that peaked out. He could tell she took good care of herself. Amy's face was another thing she had been naturally blessed with. She wore no makeup yet looked so good in her own skin that she didn't need it with those beautiful emerald eyes and long lashes, not to mention, her plump lips and breathtaking smile.

And her quills: they were so soft...

"Silver?" Amy wondered aloud as she blinked up at him.

Silver's eyes widened once he realized his actions and quickly jumped away from her. He hadn't realized his body had moved on its own and that he had gotten behind her. His cheeks flushed and he held his arm over his lower face to shield her from seeing. Just what the hell was wrong with him?

"Oh, hey!" He muttered nervously with a chuckle.

Amy smiled softly and brushed a quill behind her ear shyly. "So… did things work out?" She asked, flapping her long lashes in curiosity.

Silver found it adorable and got distracted. "What do you mean?" He mumbled.

"With Blaze!" She whispered with a concerned frown. "You seemed pretty crushed yesterday. How are you guys doing?"

"Oh…" Silver's blush disappeared as a shameful look replaced it. "I…" he wasn't sure what to say. He had hurt Blaze and that was inexcusable. He opened his mouth slowly, and with a somber expression, said, "We realized we both weren't compatible…"

"Aw, I'm sorry to hear that." Amy put a hand on his shoulder with a small concerned frown. "I really wish you both the best. Things may seem tough now but I'm sure things will get better. Whatever is for you will come to you. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm all ears!" She offered him a hopeful smile, pulling away.

It was a friendly gesture but Silver didn't want her touch gone. Something about her presence put him at ease. He just wanted her to hold him and reassure him that he was okay: that there was nothing wrong with him. Gosh, he knew that was wrong. He wanted to slap himself for thinking this way.

"Hey, Ames." Sonic greeted, running between the two throwing his arm around Amy's shoulders with a laugh. "I was busy last night and forgot to do the homework. Mind if I borrow yours? Just this once? Please!"

Amy's face looked bashful yet crestfallen as her eyes shifted over at the blue blur with a smile of her own. "Sure… the bell is about to ring but I think I supposed you can try copying them in the next ten minutes if we go to class now. You owe me though!" She giggled.

"I got you in P.E. class." He winked, giving her a thumbs up which made her laugh as a joke between them was passed.

A frown crossed Silver's lips as he watched the interaction. There was nothing out of the ordinary since this is how the two were usually around one another but something just didn't sit well with the gray hedgehog. He just wasn't sure what...

"Oh! Sup, Silver!" Sonic grinned, saluting the other male.

"Hey…" Silver muttered as his eyes latched onto Sonic's arm around Amy. Did he really have to hold her so tightly?

Sonic was oblivious to Silver's critique as he tugged Amy softly and grinned brighter. "Sorry, man. I got to steal her away now. See ya!" Sonic laughed.

"Bye, Silver." Amy said while Sonic dipped his head with a smile and the hedgehogs parted ways.

Silver didn't smile back. "Bye…" he said bitterly.

Sonic continued walking away with the blue hedgehog with his arms folded behind his head. Whatever he was saying was making her giggle as she shoved him playfully. They almost looked like a couple. Were they always this close? Why hadn't he noticed it before? And how were the two not dating? No. Why was this bothering him?

Silver never felt so hostile towards Sonic until today. Amy loved him yet how could he not appreciate her? Sonic wasn't worthy. He suddenly hoped they would never become a thing.

What would ya'll do in Silver's situation?

Also PrincessPandaFanfic,

I understand the confusion but I wrote "puberty" because the story discusses this topic and I am also basing it off slightly on hedgehog biology. Male hedgehogs sexually mature at 2-6 months which is equivalent to 10-20 human years. Females sexually mature at 2 months, 10 human years, but safely breed at 6-8 months which is equivalent to 20-25 human years. These characters fit these age ranges. I hope that helps with the misunderstanding for everyone. :)
