Chapter 47 The Student of War

Its been 9 months since Kuvira and her most of her army were killed and since Raiko was also killed for trying to have Sean killed for his own selfish reasons.

Since then the people from Athens have stabilized the Earth Kingdom and brought forth a new age of prosperity and equality to the people of Ba Sing Se in every ring.

As for Republic City? Baldur was put in charge of the city until a more trustworthy and capable leader could take Raiko's place.

And of course two months ago Julia and Reznov married and had their first kid. A son Reznov named after his Uncle Tyr the God of War of Asgard.

Asami and Mako were also married as well with Bolin bursting into tears at the wedding much to everyone's amusement.

As of right now however though...Well.

Everyone was at the hospital as Korra had gone into labor.

"Why are we at the hospital?" Atreus asked.

"Well, because your getting a new brother or sister." Turok said.

"I thought flying Lemurs delivered babies." Katara said making him raise an eyebrow while others laughed at their innocence.

"Where in the heck did you hear that?" Reznov asked.

"Him." The triplets said pointing at Meelo.

"Ugh." Jinora said holding her face. "I'm related to an idiot." Jinora said.

"Mmm." Turok said before Sean walked out with a smile.

"Well?" Senna asked.

"She's fine just exhausted. Now you three get in here. Theres someone your mother wants you to see." Sean said letting his kids in first.

Walking into a room they saw their mother in a hospital bed who once more had her hair back to it's original length holding something in a pink blanket.

"Mommy?" Katara asked getting up on the bed making her smile.

"Who's that?" Junior asked making her husband chuckle.

"Let me introduce you to your baby sister. Calliope." Korra said showing her head.

She had her mother's skin texture and her father's brown hair but as she opened her eyes she had her mother's blue eyes as she smiled at them making Korra smile before kissing her forehead.

"Hi." Katara said waving making Calliope laugh making her parents smile.

"Why'd you name her Calliope?" Atreus asked making his parents chuckle.

"It was the name of my sister who I always loved. In fact other than Junior each of you were named after people we knew. You were named after a solider who served under me during my time as a Spartan Captain who always wore a smile even in the worst of times." Sean said making him smile.

"And Katara was named after my mentor who was the wife of the previous Avatar Aang. We named you two after some important people in our lives. And when we have another son he'll probably be named after your uncle Deimos who gave up his life for your father 5 years ago." Korra said holding her daughter close who yawned making her smile lovingly at her new daughter.

A month later

Korra smiled as she was feeding Calliope with a bottle while she and Sean listened to Tenzin's report.

"So far everything is calm once more. The Earth Kingdom had finally stabilized. Although Wu is trying to take the throne but because of his outburst last year no one will let him into the city." Tenzin said to Sean.

"No surprise there. So whats the problem?" Sean asked.

"One of the states in the Earth Kingdom hasn't sent in any requests for food or supplies in a couple days which is unusual. Baldur wants Me, Turok and you to check things out." Tenzin said.

"Well...I suppose it is worth investigating." Sean said.

"It's probably nothing anyway." Korra said.

"Only one way to find out." Sean said.

Soon the three left to see the problem.

Thats when Korra had put Calliope down for a nap before seeing her sons training.

"Wait...Wheres your sister?" Korra asked them.

"You just put her down." Junior said making her frown.

"I'm talking about the sister you two were born with. Now where is she?" Korra asked making them grin making her raise an eyebrow before widening her eyes in realization. "Oh no! She really is like me!" Korra said making them laugh.

Meanwhile

"Ok so we get to the state see whats wrong and then go home. Sounds easy enough." Sean said before Turok noticed their supplies moving.

"Uh...We might have to turn around." Turok said chuckling.

"Why?" Sean asked confused before Turok opened it up showing Katara inside making him widen his eyes.

"Hi." Katara said waving making Sean groan.

"SHE'S EXACTLY LIKE HER MOTHER!" Sean yelled making Turok and Tenzin chuckle.

"Can I please stay Daddy?" Katara asked giving him the puppy eye look.

"Ugh!" Sean said before smiling. "Fine. But you need to stay out of the way incase something does happen." Sean said making her nod.

Soon enough they were getting close to the state Julia, Kai and Opal had arrived in the day Korra came back to Republic city.

Only to find it in ruins shocking the three.

"What in the hell?" Turok asked seeing it up in flames with everyone dead on the ground.

"I don't like this." Sean said as Oogi landed. "Turok stay with my daughter. Tenzin and I will search for survivors and see if we can learn what happened here." Sean said.

"Got it." Turok said.

Sean and Tenzin walked through the remains of the place before Sean crouched down seeing the governor with a wound on his chest.

"What is it?" Tenzin asked before Sean took out his blade and examined the wound.

"These wounds match the blades of Chaos." Sean said.

"How is that possible? I thought you said the blades were one of a kind." Tenzin said.

"Well there is another set identical to them called the blades of Exile. Different blades yes but virtually the same." Sean said putting it on his back.

"What happened here? Bandits or followers of Kuvira?" Tenzin asked.

"No...Something else happened here." Sean said.

"You got that right!"

Both looked up seeing someone with a cloak holding the blades of Exile in hand.

"Who the hell are you?" Sean asked pulling out his blades of Chaos.

"Oh I'm hurt Kruger. You seriously don't recognize me? You should...You killed me After all."

"Your gonna have to be specific since I killed a lot of people over the last 400 years." Sean said.

"Heres a hint!"

The person started earthbending the ground but both Sean and Tenzin dodged with ease before heading to a more open area just as the person landed in front of them.

"Who are you?" Tenzin asked before the person took off the cloak and both he and Sean widened their eyes. "No...It can't be." Tenzin said.

"Kuvira?" Sean asked seeing her alive once more but with a mark similar to the one he had but instead of red it was purple. (Mark of Kratos)

"Been a long time Kruger." Kuvira said.

"How the hell are you alive? I killed you with the blade of Olympus." Sean said Completely at a loss for words.

"Oh I was dead...For a few hours." Kuvira said.

Flashback 10 months ago

Kuvira's dead body lied where it was as the people of Zaofu came to collect what was left of her army.

However the ground began to crack apart as black hands slowly came up and pulled her down.

Suddenly Kuvira's body hanged in the air before she gasped in shock as she breathed again before looking.

"Wha! Where am I?" Kuvira asked.

"Calm yourself my dear. You are in the void. A place where you will be given a choice."

"Who are you?" Kuvira asked before Ares revealed himself to her. "The God of war." Kuvira said.

"I witnessed your fight. You cam close to killing my former student had his warrior spirt not returned. You could have handled even the Avatar even if she wasn't in her current condition. You show great promise." Ares said.

"It doesn't matter now. I lost most of my army now and my life. The Earth Empire is finished." Kuvira said angered.

"Some of your army remains and I can give you a new army. One that will destroy everything in it's path. All I ask is you serve me. I will bring back to the land of the living and you can have revenge on Kruger. And I will train you to take him down." Ares said making her narrow her eyes.

"No strings attached. I know what happened with Zaheer and Kruger's past. If I learn from you it's for my benefit." Kuvira said making him nod.

"Very well." Ares said before searing hot chains wrapped around her wrests.

"AHHHHHHHHH!" Kuvira screamed in agonizing pain before she looked down seeing two blades similar to the blades of Chaos.

"The Blades of Exile. Similar to the blades of Chaos I gave him so long ago. Let us begin your training." Ares said making her grin.

End Flashback

"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND! Your making the exact same mistakes I did!" Sean yelled.

"What you call mistakes I call advantages. You took my empire away from me. So I'll take something from you. YOUR LIFE!" Kuvira yelled before swinging her blades at him but they dodged with ease.

"GET TO OOGI! SHE'S MINE!" Sean yelled as their blades clashed.

"There was a time I actually admired you. Now I despise you." Kuvira said.

"FUCKING LIKEWISE ON THAT LAST PART!" Sean yelled before equipping the nemean Cestus before punching her away into a building. "You may have Ares Training but so do I along with training of every other god on Olympus and Asgard." Sean said before picking up a building and smashed it on top of the one she was in.

Sighing he figured it was done and over with but the whole place exploded making him growl before Kuvira came out without a scratch.

"Is that the best you can do?" Kuvira asked making him growl before seeing Oogi.

"We'll settle this another time. Count on it." Sean said flying to them as they left.

"Yes...We will." Kuvira said.

"I can't believe Kuvira is alive again. Ares has gone off the deep end training a new student." Turok said holding his niece.

"No kidding. We gotta get back to Republic city. Baldur needs to hear about this." Sean said.

Later

"You boys are in so much trouble." Korra said holding her daughter as the two could only grin. She was still angry they let their sister go with their father.

"We're sorry mommy." They said with a puppy eye look.

"Oh no. Thats not gonna work on me this time. Your sister does that better. You two are..." Korra tried to say before Oogi showed up before Sean Jumped off with Katara who looked upset. "Honey?" Korra said rushing to them.

"It's alright she's fine. Just saw something no four year old should see." Sean said comforting his daughter.

"What happened?" Asami asked making him sigh.

"The entire state we went to was completely wiped out...By Kuvira." Sean said shocking them.

"But...Thats not possible we saw you kill her 10 months ago along with her army." Opal said.

"Ares brought her back from the dead and has taught her what he taught me." Sean said shocking them.

"Wait a second. If Gods can bring people back from the dead..." Ikki tried to say.

"They aren't supposed to do that. There are rules for a reason hence why they didn't do it for me 4 years ago. Ares has crossed the line. I think he's entering the stages of an endgame he's been planning that originally needed me out of the way and needs someone who will start a war." Sean said.

"You gotta be kidding me. After all that she's back and killing off people in her nation?" Korra asked.

"Don't forget I did the same thing when I studied under him for 2 years. Only this time he can't make her repeat my final task since she's an orphan." Sean said.

"But why Kuvira of all people? Why not someone like Amon or Unalaq they were even more powerful." Mako said.

"Because she studied my tactics. What better student than the one who studied the previous one?" Sean asked.

"He's not wrong. Kruger's tactics back in the day were brutal even for his people but they always brought a quick victory until he came face to face with Alrik a second time." Reznov said.

"REZ!" Sean yelled.

"Whoops." Reznov said seeing his slip up.

"Second time?" Korra asked.

"I'll...Explain that later. Right now we need to warn Baldur about this." Sean said.

Later

Korra was at a mediation point at Airtemple island with a conflicted look.

"You ok?" Sean asked approaching her making her sigh.

"No...Every time we beat the bad guys a new one takes their place or they come back. Is this ever gonna end?" Korra asked.

"As long as Ares is around no. He's been responsible for every war in Greece and these lands. Who do you think convinced Sozin to start the hundred year war?" Sean asked shocking her. "Or every other war in these lands and mine? Ares is the worst god in the entire world. He feeds on conflict thats why he's so powerful. Hell he tried to have Aang eliminated on the day his people were killed so he could continue to feed knowing he was the only one who could end it not knowing he had escaped and when he cam back he couldn't interfere because of what he made me do." Sean said making her look down.

"So as long as he lives...Nothing will ever be balanced." Korra said before he gently took her hand.

"Although some good things came from his actions. It's how we met 300 years later." Sean said making her smile lightly before kissing him.

"Things are gonna get even worse now." Korra said.

"True. But we've survived before. With sacrifices of course but still survived. And we'll pull through this too." Sean said holding her close making her smile.

"Yeah. No matter what happens, no matter how crazy things get, we'll always find a way to restore balance." Korra said making him smile.

"Yup. Although technically I always go up against the real dangerous enemies you just stand there looking cute." Sean said making her eyes widen before smacking his bare chest making him burst out laughing. "I'm sorry I couldn't help it." Sean said laughing his ass off making her roll her eyes in amusement before holding him close.

"You are such an ass sometimes." Korra giggled.

"You wouldn't have me any other way just as I wouldn't have you any other way." Sean said making her smile.
