Tsuyu, Izuku, Tsuyu's parents and Tsuyu's siblings walked through the gates of the pool as many of their younger relatives were led out by their parents. Tsuyu's siblings and parents walked away from the green-haired duo and walked to the other side of the pool. Tsuyu inhaled slowly and Izuku looked at her and arched a brow, "Is something wrong? None of your relatives are around so-"
"I know, Izu, but that's what worries me. Some of my cousins, mostly Alana, can be sneaky and could be hiding somewhere, waiting for us to screw up." Tsuyu croaked and Izuku frowned.
Reaching up, he patted the top of Tsuyu's head and Tsuyu looked up in surprise, "That's good to know. I was going to relax and drop the whole act after seeing no one was here, but since you told me about your cousins an-"
"Ribbit," the two looked back to see Alana and her mother walking up to them and Tsuyu's eyes slightly narrowed as she took Izuku's hand off her head and held it by her side as the two stood in front of them and Mana looked at her niece as she shook her head, "Tsuyu, we've barely seen you all day. I'd like to ask you two a few questions if that's okay,"
Tsuyu and Izuku looked at each other with a puzzling look crossing their faces before they looked up at the two and Tsuyu croaked, "Kero, okay…what's wrong?"
"We were just wondering where you two met, when you two got engaged and why you didn't tell the rest of the family," Mana croaked and Izuku felt Tsuyu's grip tighten around his hand and he looked at her with a concerning look as she hung her head as she shook, "You barely speak to the family and you have your mother tell us about this. Ribbit, are you sure this isn't some random fling and you're just trying to lead this poor boy on an-"
"That's enough!" the three frog women jumped and looked at Izuku as he glared at Tsuyu's aunt and cousin with narrowed eyes, "I've only met you yesterday, ma'am, and your daughter today, and I can tell after having one conversation with you two that you two have your heads so far up your own asses, it's no wonder everything that comes out of your mouths is complete and total garbage! Did it ever occur to you, or the rest of your family that Tsuyu and I love each other?"
"Izu…don't," Tsuyu croaked as she shook her head and leaned up against him, "Let's just leave…my parents and siblings will understand,"
Mana and Alana stared at the One for All bearer in disbelief as Izuku shook his head and continued, "I don't understand why the only people in her family that love her are her parents and her siblings because Tsuyu is this amazing person and you better consider yourself lucky that she'd even give you the time of day,"
"Izu-"
"But, to answer your question, ma'am, Tsu and I met in high school and shortly before graduating, I asked her if she would be my girlfriend, knowing my chances were low, but she said yes and we've been together ever since and I proposed to her two months ago, so please, be happy for your niece!" the air between the four grew still while Tsuyu's parents and siblings watched from the other side of the pool with wide eyes.
Alana and her mother stared at the One for All bearer in silence as Tsuyu frowned and shook her head, "Kero, let's just go, Izu, we don't want to cause a s-"
"How about a kiss then," Alana croaked and Tsuyu looked at her cousin to see the smug look crossing her face, "Ribbit, c'mon, Tsuyu, if your fiancé is telling the truth then you two won't mind proving it, would you?"
"I…Izuku and I were just about to leave and jo-" before Tsuyu could finish, Izuku grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her closer to him before pressing his lips against hers, surprising her and her aunt and cousin before Tsuyu closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his neck and Izuku's arms snaked around Tsuyu's waist.
The duo separated and looked back to see Tsuyu's aunt and cousin walking through the gates in a hurry. Izuku looked at Tsuyu and frowned as he shook his head, "I…I'm sorry for doing that, Tsu, but…your aunt and cousin…they just-"
"I…it's fine, Izu," Tsuyu croaked and shook her head, "If we had just walked away, they would've suspected something was going on and tell the rest of my family,"
"And if we had done nothing, they would've suspected something and gone to your family," Tsuyu croaked and slightly nodded, "So if we hadn't had done anything, this charade would've been for nothing and your parents and probably your siblings would've faced some backlash because of it."
Tsuyu moaned and slowly nodded again before she looked up to see her parents and siblings staring at the two and she sighed, "Kero, I'm going to go spend some time with my parents and siblings…alone…try to avoid my relatives, okay?" Izuku frowned and slowly nodded as Tsuyu turned and walked towards her family and Izuku sighed before he turned and walked through the gate.
Izuku sat at the bar with a frown crossing his lips as he sighed and drank the beer at his side, "Damn it…what the hell was I thinking? I practically ruined my friendship with her because I didn't want her family to harass her anymore…I wouldn't be surprised if she asks me to move out when we get home,"
"Gero," he looked back to see Ganma standing behind him, "Hey kid…mind if I take a seat?" Izuku took a deep breath and shook his head as the large frog man sat down beside him before ordering a drink and looked up at the screen above the bar to admire the current soccer game playing, "Hell of a game, huh?" Izuku sighed and Ganma croaked, "Look Izuku, my wife and I appreciate you doing this for Tsuyu, and Tsuyu does as well. Many of her relatives give her a hard time whenever they're around and that's why Tsuyu stopped coming to family events,"
"I could imagine, but why would they do that to her? What do they gain out of harassing her, sir?"
"As you know, Tsuyu speaks her mind, and isn't afraid to do so, but many of our family doesn't like that, and they hate it even more when they see Tsuyu emotionally strong and refuses to break easily, so they torment her any which way possible, hoping to see her defeated, but it never works," Izuku moaned as Ganma downed his drink in a single swig. Setting the empty glass down, the large man stood up, "I know what else is bothering you, and just so you know, you have mine, my wife and our youngest support, but you need to talk to Tsuyu before something else happens before the wedding," Izuku frowned and hung his head as Ganma sighed and began walking away, "Or don't, I just figured the Number One Hero would be braver than this," Izuku looked over his shoulder to see Ganma stepping out of the bar before he inhaled slowly and continued to drink his beer.
Tsuyu stepped into the room she was sharing with Izuku and she stopped when she saw a less than sober Izuku sitting on the bed, his shoulders slumped over and his head down, "Izu!" Izuku looked up with slightly red eyes as Tsuyu stepped closer to him, "Kero, what the…have you been drinking? Izu, we shouldn't drink until the wedding, what if something slips an-"
"I've only had a few beers, and the only family member I talked to was your father," Izuku stood up and stepped over to Tsuyu and Tsuyu's eyes widened as the scent of alcohol barely penetrated her nostrils, "Tsuyu…there's…there's another reason why I agreed to this,"
"Izu-"
"Tsu…I wasn't joking out there. When I told your aunt and cousin that people would be lucky if you give them the time of day, and when I said I love you,"
Tsuyu's eyes widened as she shook her head, "Okay, Izu, you're drunk…you need to get some sleep before something happens an-"
"No!" Tsuyu jumped at the tone in Izuku's voice as the One for All bearer groaned and shook his head, "I'm not drunk…nowhere near point at least…but…right now I'm going to talk…and if you could be so kind…I'd like you to listen," small nervous croaks escaped Tsuyu's mouth as she slowly nodded and Izuku sighed as he shook his head, "The day we moved in together…it was amazing, I had an incredible person as a housemate…we'd go on patrol together and became on the of most fierce duos to villains everywhere and even when we worked alone, the villains still feared us.
Then your parents call you, telling you what happened at a family gathering and how you and I are supposed to be engaged. I had told you that the reason I agreed to all of this was because I wanted to help you show your family that they were wrong about you and that they shouldn't make you feel that way. That wasn't a lie, however it wasn't the main reason I agreed to this," Tsuyu's eyes widened as Izuku took a deep breath and shook his head before continuing, "The main reason I agreed to pretend to be your fiancé is because…I love you, Tsuyu,"
"Kero?"
"Whenever we're fighting villains together, or even spending an evening together at the house, enjoying the rare silence heroes get to enjoy…I just can't picture doing any of that with anyone else," Tsuyu felt her face heat up as Izuku pointed towards the ring around her finger, "So…Tsuyu Asui…you can either take that ring off after this week is up and we go home…or you can continue to wear it until we exchange it for a wedding band,"
"What? What are you talking about, Izu?"
Izuku frowned as he inhaled slowly and shook his head, "Tsuyu Asui…will you marry me and make me the happiest man alive?"
Tsuyu looked down at the ring that dawned her finger before looking up at Izuku and slightly frowned as she slowly shook her head, "Why don't we go to bed, Izu…I'll give you my answer tomorrow, I promise," Izuku frowned as Tsuyu croaked and shook her head, "Kero, let's go, Izu, it's getting late and I can tell you've drank more than a few beers," Tsuyu began leading Izuku towards the bed.
Forcing the One for All user to lie down, Tsuyu laid down next to him and wrapped an arm around him as she scooted closer to him before wrapping an arm around his torso and laying her head on his shoulder, "This is to make sure you don't get up and wander around in a drunken state," Izuku mumbled under his breath as Tsuyu leaned up and lightly kissed his cheek, "I promise I'll give you my answer tomorrow, but for now, you need to sleep," Tsuyu watched as Izuku slowly closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep before she frowned and looked down at the silver band around her finger again before she inhaled slowly and closed her eyes, her mind racing as she tried to sleep.
Not what I originally had planned, but I moved a few things up. Please enjoy.
